It seems that the main point overlooked so many times is that a gay person is born that way. If 2 people wish to commit to each other before God and others, so be it and God bless.

A lot of us will disagree with some homosexuals. A lot of them are living lustful lives and chanting YMCA in front of the media like rabid animals. Ever see the people at Frisco's Gay Parade. That is some of the sickest weirdest people around. This is the fraction of society that wants to live the way they want by their rules with no boundaries and not by God's law that's for sure!

      • Posted By: RealtorMike @ 09/18/2008 5:14:56 PM

Actually bdhotwheel, Gay people never sing YMCA. We laugh at straight america sing a song and doing the motions at sporting events to a song that speaks about having sex at the YMCA in the 70's. You see until attitudes changes, men used to feel it necessary to get married and then have real sex on hte side. It is much better now that gay people can live openly. My God loves me as he created me, If you God doesn;t love people as he created them, you should find yourself a new God. In any event, straight people should stop dancing to YMCA. It is just embarrassing for you.

        • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 09/18/2008 6:03:08 PM

Please know that this fool does not represent the majority of straight people. This person is a card carrying bigot and should be dismissed and ignored.

  • Posted By: steve bish @ 09/18/2008 4:49:56 PM

Your private behavior should be kept that way---PRIVATE, Quit trying to cram your crap down peoples throats--No pun intended. Straight people are never going to accept the behavior of homosexuals no matter what the news media thinks . Get over it --shut up-- be private--live happy. Trying to force people to accept your behavior is really stupid. It just brings you grief I don't run around with big signs saying "I'M HETERASEXUAL AND PROUD OF IT!!!. i HAVE TO ASK MYSELF WHAT THE HELL IS WTONG WIT HTHESE PEOPLE??.

    • Posted By: Valerie1972 @ 09/18/2008 4:54:15 PM

There are just as many if not more boisterous, demanding, embarrassing, craming it down our throats straight people out there. Why don't they just all shut up, quit complaining, and live happy????

      • Posted By: bdhotwheel @ 09/18/2008 4:57:48 PM

Because if the Gays can have a voice then so can the heterosexuals. We're tired of giving you rope and trying to take it all! Just be happy you're not in Iraq. They don't tolerate that lifestyle at all!

        • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 09/18/2008 6:01:10 PM

          BDHOTWHEELS,

So you just go from board to board spreading your hate and racism. So now you hate Blacks and Gays, what about Asians and Jews, are they ok with you, probably not!

You are a sad and pathetic individual!

        • Posted By: Future Mrs.A @ 09/18/2008 5:18:20 PM

Who wouldn't accept it on Iraq? The people? The governement? They don't have a chance to be gay there.....they are to busy loving sheep like A LOT! Ask any American who has served there and been on watch at night. If there is a sheep farm....there are some very sad sheep.

        • Posted By: thejess3 @ 09/18/2008 5:06:57 PM

Why would anyone want to fight for a country that is a habitat for people like you, a country that gives a narrow minded *** like you benefits when we can't have them? No thank you, you can keep war to yourselves. You should consider going to Iraq - ON THE FRONT LINE.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 09/18/2008 5:59:27 PM

Straight people are never going to accept the behavior of homosexuals no matter what the news media thinks
      **************************************************

Please do not make these blanket statements as you DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME!

  • Posted By: eshuster @ 09/18/2008 5:59:09 PM

Homosexuality is a deviant lifestyle. We should not persecute them, but we absolutely cannot validate their lifestyle in our society. No nation can thrive under a homosexual majority, and therefore we must let our kids and others in society know that this lifestyle is tolerated, but way outside of the mainstream. This is for the good of America in the long term.

  • Posted By: vogold @ 09/18/2008 5:02:40 PM

Are you kidding me! I personnally am not gay. When my daughter told me she had something important to tell me at the age of 19. I asked her if she wrecked the car. She replied no and told me she was gay with her 12 year old brother in the room. My response was. That's fine, I just worry that you wil not have children. She said, there are other ways. We live in a small town. All of our friends love her for who she is. I asked her one time about the whole sex thing. I said if you use something that resembles the male anatomy what is the difference from using the real male. She laughed and so not all gays do that. Some have no penetration of any kind. So basically she described that it was more of an emotional thing then a sex thing. Wow, I was impressed. Is'nt that what marraige is supposed to be. An emotional bond between to people? Also do you realize oral sex is still illegal in alot of states. So I guess heterosexuals should go back to the missionary position to be legal!

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 09/18/2008 5:57:48 PM

      That was a great post.

I am also straight but I have several gay and lesbian friends and they are just like anyone else with all of the ups and downs that life throws our way. There is absolutely no reason that they should be denied any of the rights that straight people have.

That is one of the really sad facts about America the level of bigotry that is prevalent in this country. For some reason people need to target particular groups of people to hate, as that is the only way that they can feel good about themselves.

I am glad that your daughter is happy as that is what is important.

  • Posted By: getthepoint @ 09/18/2008 5:40:02 PM

You've got to be kidding me....... Why doesn't somebody tell these people that they have choices. If your lonely, find a friend. If your sad, be happy. If your broke, get a job. Gay or straight, young or old, we all have choices, and we live tomorrow by the choices we make today. What we need is not more government programs to help these people to feel recognized, but somebody to tell them they have a choice. They will be stronger if you tell them the truth..... They're problems are real, I agree. The source of the problem is not in thier genes however, it's in thier choice.

  • Posted By: novoiceinUS @ 09/18/2008 3:29:35 PM

we are the new millenia "***" as cruel people would say.....no rights but pay taxes...wheres my reparations? i have been with the same man 10 years longer than most of our straight friends marriages...AMERICA YOU ARE A JOKE!!!!

    • Posted By: IronPig @ 09/18/2008 3:31:41 PM

If America is a joke then go some place serious !
Good Lord the beauty of this country is you are free to leave anytime you want, but the reality is you can't find a better place to live, all you want to do is bitch & moan.

      • Posted By: NJ to Miami @ 09/18/2008 5:36:49 PM

Better yet, let's take away the right of straight poeple to get a divorce. Then we will see how fast you bitch and moan.

  • Posted By: getthepoint @ 09/18/2008 5:34:21 PM

You've got to be kidding me.........Didn't anybody ever tell these folks that they have the power to choose. If you're lonely, find a friend. If your sad, be happy. If your broke, get a job. The only reason a person, gay or straight, young or old will live alone is because they choose to. If they need a support group to help them with that, then they should organize one. Two things that make them feel like a victim are thier choices and the people who sympathize with thier sorrow. Tell them the truth I say. They'll be stronger for it. Somebody tell them they have a choice. Somebody tell them they can change thier situation if they want to. These problems are real I agree, but they're not in thier genes, they're in thier choices!

  • Posted By: vegasscorpio @ 09/18/2008 4:41:59 PM

Robyn good comments. My opinon is you live by the sword and you die by the sword. You profit by your choices and conversely to loss by your choices. Sorry I don't feel any sorrow or pity for the people that made the lifestlye choice that they did. They are okd and alone - well big deal. They don't get handouts from the fed because that lifestlye choice is not recognized. Oh well.
I notice your theme is a christian concept - you know turn the other cheek and all that, bless everybody and everything will be better and all that stuff - well no one said that christianity has blessed that lifestlye choice - and it is a choice. they were not "made" that way. How many homosexual bears or squirrels or deer to you see or hear about? They were also created by GOD or the one or whomever or whatever you believe in.
but getting back to the gist of the story - it was their choice now tthey have to live with the consequences. And I for one have no pity for them.

    • Posted By: NerosSoldier @ 09/18/2008 5:34:20 PM

Actually, there are several examples in the natural world of homosexual relationships. Some birds have been known to nest with birds of the same sex for life. Really this isn't about handouts, it's about recognition. A married couple receives two Social Security incomes in old age, even after the partner dies. That is not an option for a gay couple. Sure you can leave your house to your partner in your will, but they will have to come up with the tax money to pay for that "income" even though they have been contributing for 20,30,50 years or more. Talk about unfair.

    • Posted By: chickysgirl @ 09/18/2008 4:50:26 PM

Who's asking for federal handouts because they are alone? I guess I might be upset if that were that case too, but it isn't. Some have said they don't think they should have to pay taxes and social security just so the partner of a gay person who dies can collect their social security. Well, personally I don't like paying taxes and into social security to have to support kids and spouse ofsome joker who had a shotgun marriage because he knocked up his girlfriend, had a half dozen kids, then died. Now that is what I call 'special rights'. Another 'special right' is having tax exemptions for children. It's not my fault that straight folks have children just because they can. So why should they be given the special right of paying less taxes than me? 'Splain that one to me!

  • Posted By: petie1958 @ 09/18/2008 3:21:37 PM

Gays want equal rights yet they want special treatment also. Can't have it both ways. Frankly, I'm tired of hearing about it. Just get on with your life and quit whining. Everyone has a tough time at some point in their lives.

    • Posted By: NJ to Miami @ 09/18/2008 5:33:48 PM

You are you takling about you moron? It is impossible to have special rights when you do not even have equal rights.

    • Posted By: novoiceinUS @ 09/18/2008 3:34:11 PM

petie1958..... your a piece of crap. hope you believe in the bible...so u get your special treatment...jerk

    • Posted By: sffilk @ 09/18/2008 3:25:36 PM

Considering that gays don't have equal rights right now, what is your problem?

  • Posted By: Dovbush @ 09/18/2008 3:56:42 PM

Simply put, Look at the natural wonders of the earth, animals, the universe, etc. It is nature that surrounds us. Everything is in order other than what humans have done to space and the planet. Look at the true meaning of marriage which is to pro-create. Now look at homosecuality. Is there anything naural about it? Are the sexual body organs of the 'giver and receiver' truly compatible? Gays will conjure up anything to make a wrong a right.

    • Posted By: science-comments @ 09/18/2008 5:33:06 PM

Oh truly nature astounds, beguiles and perplexes us with its wonders that are plain to the the naked eye and the ones under the most powerful (micro/tele)scopes! Beneath such serene beauty/ order lies the turmoil that makes it so! Read the birth of the universe and how a table sugar "disappears" in water, to name a few.

    • Posted By: typicalamerican @ 09/18/2008 4:02:28 PM

I agree with your comments. But more to the point. I don't want to be paying into a federal social security system that would pay benefits to someones "Gay Partner".

  • Posted By: bdhotwheel @ 09/18/2008 4:12:15 PM

What do we say to Muslims that want to have three or more wives? Should we allow that too? When will this end. Marriage is between one man and one woman period. Always have always will be. If you want all the perks that marriage gives couples then change the laws according to how they are set up in civil unions. Leave marriage as marriage and you can keep the civil union term!

    • Posted By: NJ to Miami @ 09/18/2008 5:28:16 PM

      Dear BD Hot Wheel.
As a matter of fact, teh US government does look the other way when it comes to straight Muslim men living in the US with multiple wives. No one is arresting them. It was reported in all the New York City newspapers the tragic fire that struck Moussa Magassa and his wives.

  • Posted By: getthepoint @ 09/18/2008 5:26:50 PM

you've got to be kidding me. Why does being lonely have to have anything to do with sexual orientation. Why does losing your friends have anything to do with gay or straight. Will somebody just tell these folks that they have a choice. If your friend dies, get a new one. If your tired of being alone, go talk to somebody. What that person needs is to understand they have choices. They dont need recognition as a special group. They don't need government programs to help them feel like somebody cares. They need to know thier choices matter. They need to know that the decisions they make today determine how they live tomorrow. The sad thing is that somebody convinced them a long time ago that they didn't have a choice. They were lied to. Now they have trouble standing on thier own. These kind of problems are real, but they're not in thier genes, there in the choices.

""If you can imagine a situation where you're 80 years old, with no kids, a partner passed, no cousins or relatives and not one service that will provide you help with an emoticon of respect, that's what most LGBT seniors in this country face right now," says Michael Adams, SAGE's executive director."
Emoticon of respect? What is that. How about using the word modicum.

He is on your team not the Gay team. He is a classic example of how the far right makes people do crazy things so that they appear straight. Don;t blame the gay community for Mr Craig. He is you problem, not ours

This article is very sad, I was raise to spread my wings. Grow up and make decisions to help me through my personal life. Save for retirement. I am at an age where there may not be Social Security. Both my parents are gone. My dad worked until he was 65 and died at the age of 71. We buried my mom 2 yrs to the day that my dad died. What happens to all the monies that both my parents put into Social Security in the 45 t0 55 yrs of their employment? We all need to take responiblity for all of our decisions whether they be good or bad ands not expect some one to bail us out. I have some gay and lesbian friend who took it upon themselve to make sure they were and are prepared for their retirement. The gentlemen that is alone I say I'm sorry, but those are the choices that he made. Thew the other gentlemen about his house, that is what a will is for, and as far as Social Security, What about me who still pays into Social Security but may never see a dime. SAY-LA-VEE'

  • Posted By: Michell @ 09/18/2008 4:14:02 PM

It's interesting that you state that socities are run by governments. By that statement you must agree that governments are made up by the people, in a democratic socicty that is. Those people elect persons in to the said government to represents them. They also vote to enact or repeal laws. If then those governments vote that same-sex marriages and/or homosexuality is illegal and thus denining certain privilages or rights obtained by conventional marriage, why the outcry?

    • Posted By: NJ to Miami @ 09/18/2008 5:15:22 PM

Our American forefathers created a government to PROTECT the rights of minorities. Their intention was not a governement run by the majority to slaughter the minority. Move to Serbia or Darfurf if you want that.

Hey, let's leave God and theBible out of it,can you think of anything more sickening than to see 2 men or 2 women kissing, makes me want to throw up on them.If we give them equal right with normal people, can I start lobbying for equal rights for my dog, so I can claim her on my income tax and insurance, same thing.

    • Posted By: cox_dan @ 09/18/2008 5:12:12 PM

Hey Susie its sounds like your dog might have more ittelligence than your narrow minded opinion

      Amen...........

      • Posted By: cristina22 @ 09/18/2008 4:22:06 PM

Susie from somewhere (under a rock)... theres a difference between a dog and a homosexual. Dogs are not human beings you dimwit! If it bothers you so much don't look!

To the guy who said gay lifestyle causes death. Men are more promiscuous than women and in the 70's they had no worries about AIDS, getting pregnant, or the the stigma that promiscuous women would receive. So, yeah they spread around a disease that they didn't even know existed.

Dovbush, please don't recite your passages. You people can't even agree what the bible actually means. Ok so one story is supposed to be taken literally yet another is a metaphor or bad translation, come on! Hey I can quote too!

"1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord. 2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.

        Deuteronomy 23:1"

"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated (anah) her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives." Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NIV

"Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom--both young and old--surrounded the house. 5 They called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them." 6 Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him 7 and said, "No, my friends. Don't do this wicked thing. 8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don't do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof."

        Genesis 19:4-8"

So I guess God would rather women be raped than two men have consensual sex?

Didn't Jesus say, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I doubt any of you would be able to.

    • Posted By: science-comments @ 09/18/2008 4:16:41 PM

Well good luck. You made the implicit assumption that homosexuals and your dog belong to the same species/ category. The condition in your statement "if..." and the outcome " can I" suggests it. Clearly it's not by any measure you can find (biological, cultural, psychological, etc.)

  • Posted By: max298 @ 09/18/2008 3:44:49 PM

    • Posted By: cox_dan @ 09/18/2008 5:10:00 PM

Look further and the bible will find something that applies to you as well. Unless you are perfect, which I sincerely doubt!

Gay and Lesbian rights is not something new or even such a big deal that people are all in a tizzy over it. I don't understand why someone???s choice in partner matters to anyone but them. I will love who I want to love and be attracted to who I want to be attracted to regardless of what anyone thinks about it.

Believe what you want about what the "Bible" says. Honestly....I'd like some proof on the validity of that document. Don't get me wrong I think God is a pretty cool dude and if he can forgive a child molester and a murderer and heck a priest that like the alter boys a little to much....don't you think he has a place for the people that don't fall into what YOU think is normal? I sure do.

I think you are born the way you are...mentally, physically and sexually. I was born straight....I know some people that were born gay and obviously some of you were born stupid. You are closed minded because your parents were probably born stupid as well (or maybe gay and because of stupid people they were afraid to be themselves).

Is your life so perfect that you have time to rip on gay people? Are you so rich that you don???t have to worry about money? Is your job so wonderful that you don???t have to think about it? Is your relationship happy and loving? Are your kids passing all their classes and on their way to a bright future? Are your dishes clean? Did you feed your pets? Any laundry? Is your computer working right? If you said no or had to think twice about any of these questions then you really should not be worried about who is gay and what your precious bible says. I bet most of you complaining have never read it.

If you don???t care about these elderly people then move on to an article about something that matters to you. Don???t spread your hate. Get a life!

All I know???.if someone referred to your grandparent, parent or other relative or friend like you people are then you would be hurt and offended and heart broken.

All they want is a fair chance to know they wont die suffering or that the things they have worked their whole life for will go to the person that deserves it the most. If you didn???t know they were gay???.you would care!

They are old people for crying out loud! Have a heart.

There are more important issues going on in the world and in our country. If you don???t support gays???use your energy working for something you do support???.helping homeless, making sure our schools get better funding for our children, animal rights, politics???..use your energy for good???.not evil.
