Stop using God to justify your venom. You should be careful of the words you speak into exsistence as God's memory is long and you answer to every comment you make. You should spend more time utilizing compassion and understanding and then you can claim a relationship with God. Using religion to spread bigotry is the mark of someone unable to communicate their own discomfort and fear, God has nothing to do with it.

This is not a matter of judgement. This is a matter of keeping our senior citizens safe. It should not be your place to judge but to be concerned of your fellow human companions well being. How closed minded our society is to scorn someone who is not outwardly harming anyone. Gay or straight we are all people and we should learn to love eachother, differences included.

There is also a gay over-55 retirement community of perhaps thirty homes and villas in a semi-rural area of SW Florida, only about a half hour's drive south of St. Petersburg and north of Sarasota. It has a very active Homeowners Association, a good social life, and has now survived for more than a decade.

The couples who legitimately want a family and a "normal" life should look at the role models like Ellen, Rosie and the cast of Queer Eye..........most Americans do not need to see the over the top, look at me displays.

Don't be close minded. Do you think people should hate you because you are over weight? Same thing in principle as hating a Gay person just for being Gay. I am not gay, but I do work with seniors doing case management and social services. Seniors today lived through the civil rights movement and the women's rights movement. I do not want to be "poked in the booty" quoting brownsugah, but people have the RIGHT to live the lifestyle that they choice as long as this lifestyle does not interfere with other peoples. If you believe in God and do not accept people for who they are, then you dont believe in the Christian God, aka Christ. For those of you who use God as a reason to hate Gays, then do you believe in a God that hates some of his followers. Several of the more active member of my church are openly Gay, and they dont burn when they take the body and blood at communion every Sunday. Open you minds and your hearts, or just keep it to yourself. Seniors, and anyone for the matter, have a right to live any way they want. You have no right to comment on their life style unless you are willing to put yourself under the microscope and let us point out some of your skeletons in your closet. These "Gays" are people created in the imaged of God. If you can not accept that, then I feel bad for you. Being a senior citizen is not easy, especially when you have to do it alone. Lonelyness is prevalent with seniors who live alone, and the last thing that someone needs when they are already down is to get kicked again. Let these seniors live out their days in peace and what happiness they can find. And if you have more to say, so it to someone of your own generation as you are probably in your twenties or thirties and have never known a senior citizen in the last part of their life. Learn a little, volunteer at a local senior center or for a friendly visitor program or for meals on wheels. Then you will see what it is like to live an isolated life, even if it is only for a short period of time.

The Bible commands us to judge righteously. In other words, don't substitute your judgment for God's and don't judge other people when you are guilty of impenitently engaging in the same sins. A careful and open-minded study of the Bible makes it clear that concerning certain vital matters, it is not only right but a positive duty to judge. Many do not know that the Scripture commands us to judge. Ezekiel 3:18-21. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself commanded us to "Judge righteous judgment" (John 7:24) Christ told a man, "Thou hast rightly judged" (Luke 7:43). To others, our Lord asked, "Why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?" (Luke 12:57).
Read this again carefully. Notice that it is addressed only to a hypocrite, not to those who sincerely want to discern whether a teacher or teaching is true or false to God???s Word. And instead of being a prohibition against honest judgment, it is a solemn warning against hypocritical judgment, not righteous judgment. In fact, the last statement of this Scripture commands sincere judgment.

Well I don't support benefits being paid to a heterosexual's spouse just because they "stayed together" either, but I suppose we don't always get what we want. One day the tables will turn and typicalmerican bigotry will be a thing of the past.

I happen to live in a gay friendly town in Northern NJ, about 15 miles west of New York City. It is a lovely town, with beautiful homes and great people. One of the girls on my 11 year-old daughter's soccer team has two moms. Both of them are delightful people and a pleasure to speak with at the games. I don't feel threatened in ANY way and I don't feel like my lifestyle is in danger and my kids are completely over it. They are growing up in a tolerant environment, they go to church often, but we don't allow them to hate ANYONE for ANY reason. They are developing their own personal relationships with God and are extremely well adjusted. I love living in my BLUE town, in a BLUE county in what is mostly a BLUE state and I wouldn't have it any other way, nor would I raise my children to be intolerant bozos who can't let everyone decide for themselves how they want to live their own law-abidding lives.
