GO BACK IN THE CLOSET!!!!!!!!
GO BACK IN THE CLOSET!!!!!!!!
Wall St is in shambles, Houston and the US Gulf are devistated by hurricanes, and we are in the middle of one of the most important election seasons in recent memory. Why is this news?
Who cares what your life style is or the baggage you bring with it. Just don't ask the tax payers to fund special facilities, clinics, clubs etc for you. Everyone gets old, single, loss of freinds etc, why should your kind have it any better or special help. Additionally, why do weak people always refer to god when they have problems. Get up off your knees, Face up to your problems, help yourself and devise a plan to make things better. I don't know of anyone who has actually seen god, touch him, or recorded a voice message from him, or received written messages or image from him.
Donut - your hole is really showing! So is your ignorance. Perhaps you think you are God, eh?!
It's not asking for special treatment - it's asking for the same rights as married straight couples! The ability to leave your property to those who are closest to you and who you care the world for. The ability to adopt a child or raise one of their own without legal harassment. The ability to get health coverage for a committed partner the same way spouses can. The ability to see your loved one in the hospital when the allow "only family" to get in to see them. These are legal issues that straight couples take for granted, not special treatment for homosexual couples.
Homophobes ought to be ashamed.
HOMOSEXUALS are the ones who should be ashamed!
You Holy Rollers who are blinded by your bible and who shove your beliefs down our throats should be ashamed
All people who enter into a committed relationship should be afforded the same rights guaranteed by law. Marriage is a civil union...religious blessing is an option some choose, but it is not absolutely tied to it. God may or may not exist, and if God does, God created a LOT of diversity in creation. It is human beings, in their atttempt to simplify things, or appear superior, that misunderstand creation and it's complexity. Gay and lesbian people are part of creation and deserve the rights and protections those born heterosexual do. Homosexuality is as old as humanity and their relationships are not "an experiment."
It's amazing that anyone could find the photo of two women kissing problematic. Children don't see it the same way adults might. For all kids know they are good friends, sisters, cousins. No need to get into a discussion of lesbianism. Grow up.
Why is it that everytime the word homosexual comes up or any topic about same sex
relationships, bibical scriptures are injected. Are you people crazy? The topic is an aging population who is seeking justice and a voice.
Children does not asked for explanation about things adults make big issues of. If they see
two people kissing they see two people kissing. Give it a rest lady and you get some therapy and questions answered. The children are just fine. This is their day and age where tolerance is their way of life...its adults that is dragging all this ancient dogma into their brand new world.
Everyone doesn't have the same rights? Lets see ALL men have the right to marry a woman. ALL women have the right to marry a man. So as I see it, we ALL have the same rights.
Bottom line is, The Bible is true. Its very clear about homosexuality. "Its an abomination to The Lord. If you think the account of Sodom & Gommorah is a fable, youre sadly mistaken.
You will need to give me chapter and verse. Nice mis-quote. And by the way, those towns were not destroyed for their homosexuality. Read the whole passage...
Read the comment again. Where did I state that they were destroyed for there homosexuality??
all of which is moot since the laws of the United States are not biblical law! IMHO the Constitution (and the 14th Amendment regarding equal protection under the law) trumps your Bible law when it comes to how rights are administered in this country. If you want biblical law and the ability to meddle in other people's lives with that justification, change our form of government to a theocracy. If you can't do that, practice your religion to the best of your abilities by all means, but leave everyone else out of it.
Joanie, who, in her time was probably the only female in her college Engineering class, is an ex-co-worker of mine. She's probably close to 80 now and lived with Betty for over 50 years (Betty recently died of cancer). This was during the period (1950-2000) when it was not cool to be gay, let alone a female Engineer! I love this woman. She is as normal as as anyone can be and as bright as the sunshine. She still works part -ime and unselfishly donates her spare time driving cancer patients to their Dr. appointments. You will never find a nicer person than this lady. She is no "freak" of nature. She was before her time. She was a woman who knew what she wanted in a man's world! Another woman!
I have been at my current job 20 years and cannot put my partner of 29 years on my health plan because of the cost! we will be turning 50 this year and you really cannot count on family for help so you turn to your friends.

Everytime I read the "gays are bad parents" line it cracks me up. My niece and her female partner have 4 beautiful children. The oldest is 12, on the honor role, speaks French and some Japanese, plays soccer, etc, in other words a wonderful kid we are all proud of. The triplets are only 3 but they are awesome, if a bit of a handfull. I would be willing to put these women's parenting skills up against any of the religious haters on this board. You act like gay familes dont exist, but they do. They are everywhere and deserve the same legal protections as anyone else.
Everyone is so concerned as to whether being gay is a sin, which it is in the BIble, . ..but so is lying, lustful thoughts, jealousy ,etc. God doesn't see one sin as any better or worse than another. If we are a glass of water and dirt is sin, would you want the water if one teaspoon or a whole cup of dirt was added? No, its all dirty . . .and God sees all sin like that. It is Christ's sacrifice that saves us all. He is our saving grace. Lets all love each other as Christ loves us . . .
I do agree with everything that feralside posted. I was also taught that you should treat your fellow brother or sister with respect. I choose to live my life a different way than they live their's but we are all God's children and thus we should love our neighbors as we love God. For in God love is eternal and nothing surpasses it. I think that there should be a law that partners (gay, leisban or which ever) should be able to spend their lives with whom they choose and when whomever passes on, whatever is accumlated through their partnership should go to the person that they wished.
All of this except for Social Security can be solved by an attorney, I actually have quite a few gay friends that don't know why other GLBT's even want to get married, they say that "We are different, isn't that the point, that's what makes us US" Seriously, 99% of the things in these articles, and arguements are so easy to solve, it's called a WILL, or a LIVING TRUST, it's not that complicated. If you choose to live in a gay relationship you accept that your Social Security will not go to them, that is your choice. The 2 GAY Owners/Fashion Icons Dolce & Gabbanna put it best when asked if you are born gay or not in an old GQ article...YOU CHOOSE WHO YOU LOVE...maybe not who you are attracted to, but YOU CHOOSE TO BE IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH THAT PERSON, and therefore you accept the consequences, if 60% of the US disagrees with you and doesn't want Gay marriage, that's fine, you can live together, have a life together, you may not get the tax deductions, or the SSN Benefits, but you CAN have them listed as someone to visit you, make life or death decisions, inherit your possessions etc. This is such a stupid arguement, just live with the consequences of your actions...
"You choose who you love...maybe not who you are attracted to, but you choose to be in a relationship with that person".
So basically you're saying that it's fine if you can't choose who you find attractive, but no you have to be alone your entire life. One of the dumbest comments so far.
Why are so many supposedly "staight" people so much against homosexuality?? Maybe they are
unsure or feel insecure of their own sexuality... ;)
Honestly, I don't care if you think gays are freaks of nature. Again, back to the real issue at hand for those with at least enough of an opinion to even disucss the topic outside of spewing hate. The topic at hand is equal rights, which has nothing to do with sexuality. I can be a freak of nature in your eyes, but my partner and I are still human beings and entitled to the same rights as heterosexual couples. Do you really care if two little old ladies who have been together for 40+ years get eachother's social security?

Why does any GAY DICUSSION bring out the worst in people?
WHO CARES?
I never cared who married what or how they did it. As long as someone else's behavior doesn't affect me, why should I care? I have enough trouble dealing with my own life. Why should I have any interest in someone else's personal preferences?
If there was an election tomorrow and the entire American population had a chance to select between two choices, which do you think would win?
SELECT ONE:
(1) Immediate reversal of the economy to instant prosperity, all indebtedness is wiped out, America returns as world leader, the wars are ended, happiness is available to all Americans equally, as is healthcare and higher education for all citizens,
or
(2) .Outward expression of Homosexuality is made ILLEGAL in America, with prison terms for repeat violators.
Why not make your choice and then think about it for a year or two? What is the real issue behind hatred of homosexuals?
