Russia has taken off its mask of ' peace keeper' and has shown the world its true face. It is the face of an aggressor, intruder and violator of souvereignty of other countries. It is a neo-colonial dictatorship and KGB-regime. Bandits that govern Russia today, Putin and Medvedev, have succeeded in ending Georgia's membership of the GUS and in loosing Russia's 'peace-mandate'. This is the biggest victory that can be achieved against these empire consisting completely of weapons and nuclear rockets. Despite the signing of a peace agreement they continue bombing civilian targets like hospitals and private cars, killing journalists and tourists. These are the two faces of Russia that still tries to sell its mask of lies to the world. Shame on Russia for killing innocent men, women and children in S. Ossetia, shame on you. Now the world has recognized this shame

Obama's view of the future of America - Socialism which is the next step to Communism!!

Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire to not only possess another's wealth but also the desire to see another's wealth lowered to the level of one's own. Socialism's teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini. The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: "Common good comes before private good." Fascism, said
Mussolini, is "a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests??realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies."

Socialism is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice: It is the social system which uses compulsion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class.

Despite the intellectuals' psychotic hatred of capitalism, it is the only moral and just social system.

Capitalism is the only moral system because it requires human beings to deal with one another as traders--that is, as free moral agents trading and selling goods and services on the basis of mutual consent.

Capitalism is the only just system because the sole criterion that determines the value of thing exchanged is the free, voluntary, universal judgement of the consumer. Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.

It is both moral and just because the degree to which man rises or falls in society is determined by the degree to which he uses his mind. Capitalism is the only social system that rewards merit, ability and achievement, regardless of one's birth or station in life.

    Yes, there are winners and losers in capitalism. The winners are those who are honest, industrious, thoughtful, prudent, frugal, responsible, disciplined, and efficient. The losers are those who are shiftless, lazy, imprudent, extravagant, negligent, impractical, and inefficient. [What about the role of luckbeing in the right place at the right time or the wrong place at the wrong time? R. R. Pope}

Capitalism is the only social system that rewards virtue and punishes vice. This applies to both the business executive and the carpenter, the lawyer and the factory worker.

Capitalism as it is (not as it should be) is not more moral than socialism (even than "real" socialism): it is just more effective . It is nearer to the human nature (even in its less noble sides), and it's based on the individual interest, that is a real source of energy . The point is, any source of energy is bound to cause disasters if it is left absolutely uchecked or ill-managed (just think to Chernobil or Three Miles Island) and so is individual interest and the same capitalism, if left to its own (and to its moving apologethes) . To avoid this regrettable end, it is necessary a certain amount not only of law enforcement, but even of state intervention and regulation (even if far lesser than that unavoidable for socialism) . The recent events show one more time that the idea of a self-regulating market (and capitalism) that gives weath to all those wo deserve it ("owner society" etc.) is a fairy tale, just as the "workers' heaven" was on the other side . There hare to be some limits "from outside" . And only the state can fix them (besides other things that ONLY the state can do, to limit or avoid the "collateral damages" of an "individual-interest-based system) . And this is not Marx the bogey man...

Saakashvilli is an anti-democratic ruler who took power through a coup and has spent the past 4 years consolidating that power by removing his competition and throwing every member of anything resembling a free press in jail. He is a dangerous, meglomaniac intent on power and drawing attention to himself. In short: he is dangerous. Georgia precipitated the conflict with Russia by purposefully inciting separatists in territories (Abkhazia and South Ossetia) which went on the record at the time of Georgia's formation to say they did not want to be a part of the new, independent republic. Certainly Russia is no saint in this equation and ultimately the greater villain. But the notion that we should side closely with Georgia and that half-insane, egoist Saakashvilli is: insane, something that could only be espoused by John McCain and a continuation of the same neo-conservative movement we've seen in this country over the past 8 years. If you vote to continue this brand of foreign policy you WILL get more Iraq wars. Possibly more disasterous and with even bigger nations, like Russia. Please, do not be insane, and vote for this man. McCain allows the same neo-conservative lunatics to drive him and his foreign policy that drove Bush. Really, our country can't afford it again. It would be like declaring war on China in the midst of World War II. Don't do it. Listen to the foreign policy realists and don't vote this unbalanced, tempermental but honorable man John McCain into office. We all will pay for it.

"tempermental but honorable man John mcCain".....
Honorable you say? Is dumping his wife (who was permanently crippled in a car accident while he was "singing" and pandering to the enemy in a Vietnam POW camp) for another woman honorable?
I think not. I think it displays his character as despicable. There is no excuse. End of story.

America has 700 bases in 130 countries, the world does not want to be ruled by the american empire. Everything US is spending billions on in working against its purpose. 9/11 attack happened because of the army presence in Saudi Arabia. How do you solve this problem, by invading middle eastern countries?

America want to counter a potential future threat from Russia, how is this done? By encircling them with NATO and US bases, missile shield at their borders and turning their neighbors against them? Russia is not your enemy, but they will become soon with this treatment

This story goes back to 1920s and 30s, when members of the government then newly independent Democratoc Republic of Goergia fled their homeland to avoid massacre of georgian nation by the bolshevics. New york times archives incleds numerous articles on this subject. Prince Matchabelli is probably the most familiar to you through his famous fragrancies, but his life was devoted to indeendence of his country, however he could not witness this day in his life and died at the age of 42 in his 57th street Manhattan appartment in new York. 1935 NYT issue tells us how "Georgian emigres" celebrated May 26th independence day of Georgia at well-known georgian restaurant in Manhattan, called "Caucasian Eagle". We keep May 26th as the sacred day and celebrate it every year here in new York. Prince Matchabelli was born in Samatchablo renamed by bollsheviks as "South Ossetia" and prince matchabeli's estate is under Russian occupation today. Those who know the roots of the current turmoil in georgia, admire Misha and we must say we are lucke he did not leave the country, because none of the members of Democratic Republic of Georgia had a chance to see their homeland again. Some are burried here in the United states others in France.

I wonder if Schlang would be so confrontational in his approach if we actually had a draft, and he were susceptible to it? Fox news is in the lap of the dittoheads, holding hands with Newsmax and Rush Limbaugh.

n a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide the largest morgage bank in the world,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch which are 3 out of the top 5 wall street firms. Also, Fanny and Freddy Mae which hold 50 percent of the home loans in the United States.
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. If they didn't the entire financially system would virtually shut down, the stock market would crash and we would suffer beyond what any of us have seen before.

McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.

Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He either didn't care or didn't realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime.
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a tanking economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?

The chairman of McCains campaign recently said that people don't vote on issues they vote on a personality composite. Which means he is trying to sell you personality instead of results.

He believes people will vote against their own interests.

Let's teach him we are smarter than that .

Hold them accountable NOW! while it will still help.

    Elect Obama Biden 2008
