Let's hope Russia and BHO become real GOOD FRIENDS. Here's why... BHO said he was a Believer, a Christian, just like all the good Evangelicals. Most Believers, Christians and good Evangelicals would rejoice over a 20 year association and mentorship with one of the most valued people in their lives - their pastor. But not Obama??? Most politicians who make it into office praise and lift up the good people who nurtured their careers. But not Obama??? Everyone is proud to be associated with their supporters, fellow board members, mentors - all those people who really mean something. But not Obama??? When will Russia join them? Not soon enough!

John McCain is an avid reader and is known for rereading many works of his favorite authors. The favorite author of John McCain is Herman Wouk who has written The Winds of War, War and Remembrance, and the Caine Mutiny. Wouk served as an executive Naval officer aboard a minesweeper during War War II and used that experience in forming the character of Captain Queeg in the Caine Mutiny. Victor Henry the main character in Winds of War and War and Remembrance was a naval officer who became a confidant both to FDR and Harry Truman. FDR and Harry Truman went outside the normal channels of military command and relied on Victor Henry for straight talk advice on how to approach Russia and Germany and Japan prior and during World War II. John McCain sees himself as the Victor Henry character who was a realist in foreign policy and understood the nuances of war and foreign policy better than anyone. John McCain is a realist and more knowledgeable about foreign policy than either Joe Biden or Barack Obama due to his experiences and also just growing up as the son and grandson of Navy admirals. It is totally inaccurate to argue that John McCain is somehow dogmatic in his approach and understanding of foreign affairs. Herman Wouk wove history into his novels. There is saying that those who do not know history are doomed to repeat history. John McCain knows history and has lived it and will use that knowledge to guide the United States through the tough challenges that we face in the war on terror and dealing with a resurgent Russia.

Ok so now McCain has a novelists view of history. Realism and pragmatism must be too heady for the 5th from the bottom at Annapolis. (Like Bush, if his lastname were Smith, his ass would have been shown the door.)
McCain-Palin '08, the end of relevance for a political aberration.

There have been references to John McCain class rank at Annapolis.
At least John McCain did not break the Annapolis honor code. The Honor code at Annapolis parallels the Air Force Academy Honor Code which state We will not lie, steal, or cheat, nor tolerate among us anyone who does. Cheating scandals have occurred at the Air Force Academy in 1965, 1967, 1972, 1984, 2004 and 2007. In 1965, 1 hundred and nine cadets were expelled from the Air Force Academy for their involvement in cheating. There have also been numerous cheating scandals at West Point and Annapolis which has resulted in permanent expulsion of those involved. One could argue that if John McCain broke the honor code he might have had a higher class rank. The military academies treat cheating scandals similar to law enforcement academies. A military officer can order troops into battle and their integrity should be above reproach when they placing their men in harms way. Similarly the testimony of a law enforcement officer can send someone away to prison for thirty years or even result in a death sentence so no cheating during academic training can be tolerated. The word and integrity of all federal, state, and local law enforcement officers can not be questioned. The City of Irving Texas recently fired over half of a recent police academy training class because there was organized cheating. So whether in law enforcement or the military cheating can not be tolerated. As President, John McCain will be commander in chief and Sarah Palin can also step into that role and both can say that they were never involved in a cheating incident and their command to go to battle will not be questioned.

Never involved in a cheating incident. Were you around when McCain sat in disgrace with the Keating 5?

I wish such a reputable publication had not used Georgia for pushing its own agenda. Quoting Mr. Simes, a famous pro-Russian analyst is not advantageous either. He has been discredited as a biased analyst. It is indeed inconceivable how people like Saakashvili (and there are many more like him in Georgia) managed to grow up in a totalitarian state. Something that Mr. Simes and his Russian friends would never understand. Discrediting a successful politician has always been a safe resort for mediocrities. This is called envy. I don???t think Americans should start losing their sleep over President Saakashvili. Although, I have to note that it will serve everybody???s national interests to call Russia???s bluff and be more resolve in the future diplomacy with them.
As for the ???nickname Misha???, such slips are also not crediting a serious publication. This is not a nickname but a shortened form of Michael, same as Bill is for William. Nobody would say that Clinton (sans Mr. or Pr.) is known by the nickname Bill. Elections in US have always brought up contentious side in Americans. Don???t drag Georgia into the arguments especially when you have NO IDEA on the subject matter.

    Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in history and B.A. in political science.

like George Bush, McCain was at the bottom of his class)

    Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study

McCain says he will cut taxes, when country is in debt and taxes cut WHERE HE IS GOING TO GET MONEY FROM? He wil rase taxes but his buddies who earn more then 2m a year will not really feel it, damn, I feel the economy going to crap even now. I have to put my famili to the strict budget and think twice if I really need to go to visit my friends who live 20 miles from me because it costs over 50$ a week for gas. And sure we had to wait with baby again till we pay off most of debts because after bills and food there is not much left, but sure McCain doesn't think of people like me, I bet he forgot when last time seen a bill from supermarket, he called americans a nation of wimps because of complaines about economy, DEAR MCCAIN, I WILL STOP COMPLAIN IF YOU GIVE ME THE AMMOUND YOUR WIFE HAS A YEAR: 6 000 000$ even agree for the less, maybe then we will afford to have a child, pay off three student loans, house wich property taxes went up 2000$ a year last 2.5 years and car(the secould one is 10 years in family this year:)) hospital bill for the last surgery.... life is great, isn't it?

Get over your Bush hate and envy of Cindy McCain's wealth. Your class warfare insults the serious issues that the next president will have to deal with and Obama has no resume, experience, or economic gravitas to deal with these complex issues; unless you consider Bambi raiding the $50 million dollars Anneburg Fund and giving it to his buddy Ayers. McCain has a positive, not perfect record of crossing across party lines and always deciding on country first! God bless America!

McCain Top Economic Adviser: [McCain Will Raise Taxes]

"Whether you're a Republican, Democrat President or a Martian, Taxes will be Raised"

Though Mccain has said Throughout his campaign

"I will Not, Raise Your Taxes"

His Top Economic Adviser says that a LIE....

Obama will Raise Taxes on those that make More than 250,000...

The 250,000 per year and Under, will have a Tax Break and Tax Cut.

    ------------------------------------------

Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a former Director of the Congressional Budget Office and current chief McCain economic advisor, is an honest man--which means he's something of a liability on the Straight Talk Express. A few months ago, he admitted to my colleague, Michael Scherer, that Barack Obama's economic plan would reduce taxes for most people.

And now, in a forthcoming book by Fortune columnist Matt Miller, he makes it clear that the next President is going to have to raise taxes.

"If you do nothing on the spending side, you're going to have to RAISE TAXES whether you're a Republican, a Democrat or a Martian," he tells Miller...and then he immediately makes it clear that the "spending side" part of the argument is nothing more than a ...............

Former POW says McCain is "not cut out to be President"

Note: So much for the [War Hero, Life Experience.. Bull-Spit]

"To see McCain resort to playing the POW card when answering legitimate questions, in my mind, cheapens that experience. And by cheapening his own experience in war, he degrades all of our experiences in war. He turns the horrific incidents we've all seen, touched, smelled, and felt into a lame excuse to earn political points. And it dishonors us all."

-- Brandon Friedman, a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan

John McCain has been exploiting his prisoner of war experience every chance he gets. He has used this story to justify everything from not knowing how many homes he has to his healthcare plan to his marital infidelities to his taste in music. The McCain campaign is even using his POW story in paid ads. But now a veteran who was a prisoner with McCain in Vietnam is explaining loud and clear that being a POW does not qualify McCain to lead our country.

We are sure this video will draw an onslaught of right-wing attacks, but we bring it to you because it is our job to continue to convey the truth together and give these issues national attention. As Dr. Butler has said, McCain does not have the temperament to have his finger near the red button. Get this video to everyone you know-friends, family members, coworkers, and especially those who don't share your political views.

The video is designed to reach them. Get it on your social networking sites like Digg. And get it to every blog, newspaper, and TV station that has ever overplayed McCain's POW story. It is time to fight back with truth!

The mainstream press has already begun to call out McCain for overusing his POW story. And it's cut across all political persuasions.

"Whether he's deflecting criticism over his health-care plan or mocking a tribute to the Woodstock music festival, Senator John McCain has a trump card: the Hanoi Hilton. - Edwin Chen, Bloomberg

"Noun, Verb, POW" - Andrew Sullivan, The Atlantic Monthly

"The McCain campaign's constant invocation of the candidate's POW past is weird bordering on irrational..." - Ana Marie Cox, TIME

"I think they are going to it way too many times." - Howard Fineman, Newsweek

Remember how Joe Biden got the press to refer to Rudy Giuliani as "A noun, a verb, and 9/11"? Well, let's actually take Andrew Sullivan's lead here and get the media to boil McCain down to a similar phrase: "A noun, a verb, and POW." Considering how often the McCain campaign invokes his POW story, isn't that what they're already doing?

    "Obama is Muslim..."
    "He???s a communist"...etc.
    "Bush/McCain are intelligent and trustworthy"...

This is the sort of conjecture we keep getting from the noecons, the far right wing, as our nation???s equity
slides further into the abyss! Where and who caused the slide? Its is a fundamental flaw due to conservative policy of no oversight, no regulation on the fat cats, big business all the while giving them a taxless gravy train!

All such statements are most irresponsible-they are based from nationalist fascist views of hate and bigotry fueled by plutocratic greed!

They are views that believe it is correct to, "socialize the debt of our nation and privatize the wealth for the elite!" Is this American? (Corporate welfare- capitalistic socialism)

The nations future, its fate hinges on a ledge. We are uncertain about the future!

But we do know how we got here and the time has come to assure ourselves that it doesn???t happen again!
The GOP / conservatism are failures, they have forsaken mainstreet America, they have not looked after the American dream. They sold out the many to side with the few. They even betrayed much of their own constituency!

Keep assassinating Obama???s character with slurs/ lies!

Are you the fascist, who believes every injustice that has happen to our nation over the past eight years is nothing and all is fine?

The economic proposals of Obama dealing with healthcare display a naivete about economics of the health insurance industry. This is unusual because his wife is a hospital administrator with a major hospital in Chicago. Barack Obama mentions that his mother had to fight with insurance companies during her terminal illness. Barack vowed to eliminate discrimination by insurers. This is doublespeak for banning preexisting condition provisions in insurance company health policies which are the cornerstone of the entire concept of insurance. Health insurance is not like welfare that you can collect if you need it. The economic principle of health insurance is that healthy people pay into the system and only a few draw out. Over a fourth of people in the United States do not have health insurance and many do not have health insurance simply out of choice. People that are in their twenties and thirties and are healthy and may chose to self insure. However, if these same people only decide to purchase health insurance when they want to have a baby or a special elective operation or become aware that they have a health condition such as cancer, then the system breaks down. Only sick people will pay into the system and healthy people will opt out because there is no incentive to maintain health insurance. If insurance companies can???t exclude people due to preexisting condition then the rates will become exorbitant for everyone. It is the same principle as life insurance.

If you try to buy a new life insurance policy when you are 100 years old the premium is significantly different then if you are sixteen years old.

I know how we can punish the Russians for defending themselves...

We can break previous agreements with them and expand NATO up to their borders, then we can bomb and dismember their friends like Serbia. We can build pipelines going around Russia. We can reduce Russian influence by not giving citizenship or voting rights to Russian minorities in the Baltics. How about breaking international law and ignoring Russia by declearing independence for Kosovo? We can also build a missile shield on their borders. Then we can undermine democracy by manipulating elections through "supporting the democratic process" and stage colour coded revolutions in Ukraine and Georgia and turn their friends against them. Next step we could of course undermine democracy again by pushing NATO on Ukraine even though 2/3 dont want it in Ukraine. Or how about arming and training the satelite state Georgia to attack Russia and slaughter Russians citizens in their sleep? After this is done we can let our free unbias western media air videos of Czechoslovakia in 1968 and other ridiculous comparisons instead of reporting the facts.
Well, as this is what we are doing to Russia when they are our "friend", we seem to have run out ways to punish them. Or maybe we should keep following Brzezinski's strategy to break Russia into 3 smaller states so they can be contained?
I really hate it when Russia doesnt follow our gameplan, it is obvious that they do not share our values of democracy, peace and freedom

Running out of issues of substance now that the economy's tanking, the Iraq war still not over, and McSame poised to continue the bent, broken, and twisted form of government began by Bush? Yeah, keep going back to the Pledge, and flag pins, and accusations that Barack is a secret Muslim. Anything to divert attention from the real issues: a doddering old man with memory lapses issues and a streak of opportunism a mile wide, with an ignorant moose-hunter and pageant queen as his trusty sidekick, ready to feed the lie to millions of soccer moms, gun nuts, and evangelicals: ignore the economy, let's keep doing what we've doing. Continue the Iraq War, we're doing a heckuva job. Let's raise taxes on most americans unless you're like Mohn McSame and own many houses, not just the one you live in. Let's cut the tax exemption for employer-sponsored health plans, forcing you to pay additional taxes on already overpriced health insurance from a broken, cobbled-together network of mishmash that makes getting a tooth pulled, well, like pulling teeth (and I'm just talking about getting the appointment and taking care of the bill, not the actual extraction) Same for any other specialist you have to go see. Let's make sure no women ever have legal or safe abortions under any circumstances, and not even allow pregnancies to be prevented with emergency contraception in a rape kit. Let's ignore Sarah Palin and her handlers refusing to honor subpoenas investigating her shady behavior, and by all means nobody mention the name Carol McCain.

You like Obama and call yourself smart? Ha !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's an IDIOT, raising taxes during the worst recession and banking crisis we've had.

You are getting a FREE RIDE off the backs of the smart, educated, and hard working rich. We pay YOUR FAIR SHARE. You pathetic losers make me sick.

You pay whose share and of what!!!! Your comments are so pathetic and childish, it's obvious you will never grow up; and I don't care what kind of CAREER you have!!!!

Mc Cain WINS on the economy, even Obama now admits he won't raise taxes now during our recession as it will make things worse! Then why Mr. Moron Obama won't it make things worse when the economy is running smoothly again. This is ILLOGICAL and further supports why I always call Obama and his supporters IDIOTS!

Mc Cain wins on Iraq. The surge worked and we will soon be bringing many troops home. We will win Iraq and it will become a stable democracy which will help us LONG TERM.

Oil and Energy - The Republicans policies are clearly superior and the majority of American's want to DRILL and reduce dependence on foreign oil. Wait till the Republicans bring up the SHAM ENERGY bill of Pelosi's. The country will be OUT RAGED.

We win on the ISSUES and we win when it comes to the SHADY practices of Obama and all of the terrorists and felons HE'S IN BED WITH!

Yeah, who needs Obama. So what if the Republicans screwed it up, I tell you the economy will get better. And who cares if the surge didn't mean the Iraqis can govern themselves and pay their own way, by golly those troops will come home. And just because McCain and the repubs are tight with the oil companies, we should take their word that they'll work for alternative fuel. Darn it, I believe it!
Was that a pig I saw flying by?
