Instead, try to be a journalist and evaluate what Palin brings to the table, not just spin everything to your biased viewpoint.
Imagine using all that energy you spend in "trying to look fair" while pushing your agenda to actually be objective of the candidates? You liked the Gibson interview because he looked down on her, just like the Geraldine Ferraro attacked by Ted Koppel in 1984.

It's not mediocrity that we love. It's elitism and hypocricy that we hate.
And the problems that will come up in the next four years are wildly unpredictable. What we need is good judgment and common sense.

I have never heard such elitist, pompous, drivel. She's not qualified to be VP because she only got her passport last year? Really, which article of the constitution is that from? I must have missed it. The left is uncomfortable with Palin, precisely because she's not a blue-blood, Ivy-League, northeastern cultural elite. As an "every day American," that the author thinks so little of, I find her refreshing. When she is subjected to questions as the VP nominee, that are more pointed than Sam Harris would put to Obama, I am rightfully offended as are many Americans. Why isn't the media, or this columnist asking about Obama's inexperience? Oh, yeah, he has a Harvard pedigree, so nothing else matters.

It's an enigma to me how some are so concerned about Governor Palin's "fundamentalist" beliefs and yet seem to have no problem with Senator Obama's twenty year affiliation with his church in Chicago and all of the theological baggage it entails. Oh..that's right...he only was a member for political expediency and then threw them under the bus when believing became inconvenient.

Let me see, you would rather have a person in the White House that attends a church that preaches "God Damn America" than one that believes in a God that guides America's leaders. And you would have minors make decisions on the morality of life while they are minors. And you would prefer a President that can't decide since it is "above his pay grade" than one ready to make a decision per Harry Truman's "The Buck stops here." I'm not sure I can agree.

BTW - her statement to the troops about His plan was essentially saying that we should pray that it is part of His plan. Those who believe in Him often pray that terrible and tough situations are part of His plan (such as when a tragic death happens.) She was not stating that this IS His plan. If you had religion in your life, you would know that.

And, don't even get started on churches, because we all know what Obama has been attending for 20 years ...

Yeah, and Obama is part of a sleeper cell terrorist group who plans to start a nuclear jihad when get gets the nuke codes. Looks like lies and scare tactics can be spread form both sides. What did his Western Wall note say? "Lord ... make me an instrument of your will." Sounds a little religiously fanatical to me! Who knows what Obama will interperate His "will" as.

The title of your piece didn't do it justice. You didn't really address, though, the fact that the other half of the ticket is rather devoid in intellectual chops as well. Mr. McCain was fifth from the bottom of his class of 899 at the Naval Academy. Lately he's show a propensity for confusion and inattention--witness his gross misstatements about Spain and its president last week, wrongly characterizing both as unfriendly to the US and as residing in Latin America. Couple these weaknesses with his hair trigger temper and his stubbornness, and stir in Ms. Palin's true belief, and you have a formula for another disasterous Republican administration.
