Please my Republican friends before you go too far off the deep end with Palin mania please consider that she is no conservative in the Regan tradition.
Palin is an extremist who wants "Creationism" taught in public schools. We need to improve our science education so we can compete in the world not infuse a state religion into our struggling public schools.
Religion needs to be taught at Church and in the home not in the public schools.
True conservatives agree with the separation of Church and state as set forward by our founding fathers.
Palin's extremist views also include an attempt to ban mainstream books in the public library. She is not a conservative but a candidate with an extremist social agenda to impose upon us.

then according to your arguement, Barack Obama is less qualified for the highest positiion in the land, correct?

    Dear Editor,
As a long standing member of The Surfrider Foundation I am shocked by Corky Carroll???s ill informed decision to support Dana Rohrabacher.
Surfing is a lifestyle that first and foremost embraces sensible environmental policies.
Rohrabacher supports the toll road that would ruin Trestles one of the premier surf spots in Orange County.
Rohrabacher does not believe that global warming is caused by human activity in spite of the fact that it is settled science among almost all main stream scientists.
He wants to drill for oil off our coast that would destroy our number one industry; Tourism, even though even conservative oil men like T. Boone Pickens even say it will provide no long term benefit.
He supported dumping partially treated sewage off Huntington Beach.
He also worked to prevent testing for harmful bacteria and toxins in the surf that is harmful to surfer, swimmers and children.
Our Mayor Debbie Cook is in the mainstream of being environmentally responsible and will be good for both business and our children???s future health and safety.
We need new leadership in Washington and unfortunately Dana Rohrabacher has been in D.C. way too long.

Please my Republican friends before you go too far off the deep end with Palin mania please consider that she is no conservative in the Regan tradition.

If Palin is as ready to be VP (and possibly President) as McCain says she is, why are they keeping her away from the press and not allowing her to speak at rallies by herself?? I can only think of one reason:

She does not have the knowledge and/or experience to speak without a script. McCain feels her responses would hurt him politically.

Am I the only one who finds this really scary?? Palin isn't bright enough to represent McCain on the campaign trail, not smart enough or experienced enough to answer reporters questions or take questions from citizens, BUT IN THREE MONTHS, SHE COULD POSSIBLY BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES????

Because if she were smart enough, McCain would want to show the world that he didn't make a mistake when he picked her. He would want the world to know how experienced she is on domestic and world issues. But he is afraid.

And we should be afraid, too!

hummmm, Seems I remember a rally at a rodeo where Obama had his teleprompters set up. AT A RODEO. And during his 40 something minutes speech in Berlin, he hemmed and hawwed with ummmm's, errrrr's, ahhhh's over 75 times. Do you see something wrong with this picture.

Your comment about Rodeo is a pre-packaged Republican talking point. Use your brain and think of something original.

Comment: Palin is wonderful if were picking the head of the PTA, she is an airhead, and not to be seated in the second most powerful position in the world, send he back to Alaska where she can build another useless hockey stadium and shoot moose as they walk past her yard. I would have more respect for her and would trust her more if she did the following things
    1. Talk to more than two reporters (Hannity is a commentator and a biased one)
    2. Talk candidly with the press
    3. Stop being just a teleprompter queen and take a serious look at Mr McCain and his erratic policy changes every day " I;m for regulation, no wait I am for deregulation"

Her days are numbered as she will soon go against Biden and some real questions at the debate, her balloon is deflating and her and McSame will never be in office...you heard it hear first..

Hmmm lets see Obamba interviewed with Bill Oreilley and the other interviews are with people who get tingly feelings up their legs when he speaks.....

He had a 40 min speech filled with 8 minutes of ummmmm.....ahhhhhhh....errrrrrr ...uhhhhhh plus he took the teleprompter......TO THE RODEO !!! last week.

    I mean he picked Biden...c'mon ....it's Biden.......

And Obamba is the best you can do .....!!!!!

What a peice of vitriol. It truly makes me feel better know that the leftist elitists are quaking this much in their free trade recyclable shoes. I thought for a moment that only Republicans knew that Obama was in trouble, but the way that the liberal media has jumped to his aid lets me know that they know there is trouble ahead as well. As for learning about someone from the company he or she keeps...isn't that why Obama "had" to divorce himself from two of his professed friends, one a radical and the other a bitter extreme racist. Before you going calling Palin a pot, I suggest you look at your own kettle!! The only reason that I am comparing Palin to Obama instead of Biden is because that is all I see being discussed; rather than McCain versus Obama and Palin versus Biden...just an interesting thought.

  • Posted By: anacalifornia @ 09/22/2008 2:25:33 PM

Yes, liberals are the stupid ones......You have to be really stupid to graduate from Harvard and law school, but must be brilliant to graduate at teh bottom of your naval class or bounce around between five or six third rate schools before earning an undergrad degree.

  • Posted By: nochoice @ 09/22/2008 2:25:06 PM

We should not be comparing Paulin to Biden or Obama or anyone in between. We should be crying over the poor choices that, we as responsible Americans have, which is no choice, a big fat zero. We have no one to vote for, we are in essence given a sectarian choice Democrat or Republican. Is this the best we have???

This article should be written about Obama. I am amazed at the lack of anything Obama has for experience, yet, that's not a big deal with the Democratic Party and Liberals. However, it sure is a big deal when it comes to Sarah. Running one State (Governor) is just a small version of running 50 States. Obama does not have that going for him, nor much of anything else.

    • Posted By: 1paronomasia @ 09/22/2008 2:18:08 PM

Yeah, too bad Sarah wasn't nominated as the Republican candidate for president because McCain has no executive experience. And we all know about the disastrous Lincoln presidency that was brought about because he had no executive experience, one term in congress, and was a worthless state senator.

Putting to much into religion. We love Jesus but hate the Jew, I grew up hearing this type of non-sense and I'm part Jew. Ive have heard from the pulpit some of the most disgusting racist things in life coming from so many churches. I like for a president to be able to speak english for a change be able to reason and not just plot lies. I like a person who is NOT a C student, I expected more of that from myself and wexpect it from the next president. I want someone who will keep their religious views to themselves and concentrate on leading this nation.

It is not a good idea to have Religious Fanatics and Extremists at the Helm of a Great Power. Be it the USA or any other Powerful Nation.

Moderates are always better. They do not want to impose censorships and to pry into private lives.

I think that extremists in Religion can be the cause of many wars and imprudent actions. They also intrude in your life and produce lower quality in education. They want to impose their ideas on you.

Ronnie...I'm not going to try to convince you of anything contrary to your opinions, as they seem exceedingly strong...but if you would, just look over your post...look at your reasoning. Are you voting for McCain or Palin? Are you voting Republican just to vote against Democratic? The point is not to vote out of spite, but to vote FOR the person who will bring about the changes you want to see in your country. If you haven't already done so, I would suggest that you take some time to think about who you are voting FOR...and why. If you share the ideals and beliefs as those you are voting for and believe that they will be doing the best job for our country...then you're on the right track. But consider the broad picture Ronnie...the big issues. The economy, our fragile global relationships with nuclear powers, our healthcare system and the millions that it is failing, our flailing education system...Those are the real issues. Not religion, hair, sexual assignment or the media...

Comment: Thank goodness. Finally I feel like people are starting to take notice of the ridiculousness of this situation. Not only had I feared the american public had been sitting idly by, tuned out, happy to just push a button on election day, voting not on political issues, but on personality (and perhaps sex appeal), but I was equally appalled that no one seemed to take this conversation to the next level: she is a real threat to the public by her "every day" attitude. I have never been able to comprehend people wanting a politician who isn't above average. People liked George Bush because he seemed like a good ole boy, but it's always made me nervous to see people in a place of power that aren't more intelligent than I am.

Don't worry Palin is way smarter than you or your candidate ..........I am verrrry confident of that!!

    • Posted By: Georgia-Dan @ 09/22/2008 2:11:36 PM

Interesting Ronnie that you are confident considering Palin has never spoken on more than 5 or 6 Republican talking points, all of which have been tightly controlled by her handlers. She repeats the same lies over and over at campaign events and wont take questions from the audience or the press. I wonder why someone so smart is kept so scripted???? I guess she would just be talking over all us dumb morons.

  • Posted By: alankent64 @ 09/22/2008 2:10:09 PM

i saw the video from her chruches web site it is full of armageddon propaganda and end time displays of nukes destroying the world and then goes on to state that the choosen will come to alaska to recieve the rapture.
to put it mildly those people that follow this socio-pathic ideology are SEVERLY MENTALLY ILL.

  • Posted By: TheCommissionerJ @ 09/22/2008 2:09:36 PM

Brilliant!! The part about Palin as a neurologist really hit it home for me. She is a complete dunce, and I'd rather take my chances on the offerings of change from Obama/Biden than risk everything on the off chance that Sarah Palin is in fact, smarter and less of a fundamentalist than she lets on. The sad thing is, if she isn't as much of a fundamentalist as she claims to be in church, then she's just lying to those people too. Either way, it's no way to live. She's not worth defending, people.

  • Posted By: n7r3pyd @ 09/22/2008 2:08:24 PM

This argument seems faulty since we are to assume Palin has all the beliefs that the author claims her church has. Even if all the authors claims about the church were true, you can't prove that she agrees with them AND if she would desire the laws of the US match them

Her record indicates, like Biden, that despite her personal beliefs she does not advocate enacting laws based upon her beliefs. Despite the desire for some to want us to think she "wants" creationism taught in schools, she actually has been a proponent of teaching evolution. She did waffle between allowing creationism to be taught side by side and not allowing it at all. Neither position is what to be expected from a "religious nut job"

As evidenced by both Obama and McCain, we will not have a president with high level technical knowledge of anything. This is not necessarily bad since discerning the truth from your advisors and making good decisions is more important (in my opinion). It is fair enough to ask that of Palin and Biden too. I think it is entirely possible that someone with Palin's background could be plenty more than competent in this.

I find a women who refuse to understand the issues of most women to be un nerving. I don't feel comfrontable with a person who denies science on the enviroment and uses her beliefs to led a nation of great diverity. Her ideas are too narrow drill drill drill it benifits my state so it gota be good for America. Don't get it wrong we need oil but what is the long term cost? Will she support other forms of energy? I doubt it she is too short sided.

    • Posted By: 1paronomasia @ 09/22/2008 2:08:17 PM

We need enough oil to change the price of oil right now.

But that is impossible. We do not have enough oil to change prices substantively and it would take 5-10 years just to bring the oil to the market that it is not going to change.

Personalities aside, this election is a choice between hope and fear, compassion and greed, sound financial policies and run-away debt, tolerance and hatred, common sense and dogma. May the American voter start a new trend and make the right decision.

We sit here and want to ambush this poor woman when only its going to make this woman stronger. This woman has more experience then Obama yo mama and she's only the Vce Presidential canidate. She has more experience and is more qualified and shows to every American you are MADE a leader not BORN one. Do you really think that the foreign leaders are going to take Obama seriously. I'm sorry to tell you folks we still live in a white mans world!!!

    • Posted By: Kikster @ 09/22/2008 2:03:48 PM

Open your eyes! "White poeple" make up only about 30% of the world's population. So the fact that Obama is not white means nothing to the rest of the world...it only means something to a racist United States.
