Glenn Beck is an avowed racist.
Although I sympathize with this author's concerns, the difference of qualifications for Mrs. Palin are highly biased though well-fleshed out. I do not see the author appealing to the other side of the aisle - the one's, who like-minded with Sarah Palin, observe her disqualifications.
Furthermore, "dogmatic" beliefs differ from worldview and doctrine. The use of dogma inappropriately continues the misinterpretation of this word to be universally applied to negative religious beliefs. In essence, dogma is a codified principle that is essential to religion-not person. Dogma, furthermore, is essential in the Roman Catholic faith on very few beliefs (papal infallibility on Mary as a Virgin, etc). Therefore, Dogma is a classification by a profession of laity or clergy or a collection by which membership is subscribed.
This exceptionally well-written peice offers much to those of similar belief, but this continues to be the same argument of who is better elected to run the country? The critical thinking is supurb; however, the attack is far more personal and such artistic leway blurs the line between religion and state. Why not examine her principles blind of her religious and spiritual background? This article is clearly not authored by someone who can draw the distinction, truly intoning an elitist view that ultimately submerses his own argument by prejudice.
How can we get people looking to talk when their worldviews are constantly attacked? Yes, voting on values can limit the scope of the picture, but maybe America needs a wake-up call to understand how those values are limited in scope rather than ostrasize for having any values. We cannot cloud the argument behind veiled "education" because both sides come out smelling elitist.

For governance, intelligence is not that important. Having brilliant advisors is *very* important. But even more important is good character and being able to judge people. You have to know who to trust, and you have to be trustworthy yourself. Palin did not get her ~80% approval rating in Alaska by thumping people with her Bible.
By the way, Teddy Roosevelt was only 42 when he assumed the presidency.
No wonder we wind up with new record deficeits every time we elect a Republican. He's smart enough to be talked into what ever his really intelligent advisers advise him to do, like "invade Iraq, they are a big enough target that we might actually hit something", or "no , you can't afford $11 billion dollars for verteran's healthcare, what do you think we do, bailout every nitwit that stops a bullet"?
and her approval rating is now at 65% and FALLING. People in AK are realizing what she is.
Palin's approval rating is a fiction. She has a high approval rating in one of the most historically removed parts of our nation. Secessionism, anyone?
If she were the governor of a state more in touch with the rest of the country, I'd give her props. As it stands, she's still a big fish in a tiny pond. How will she fare in the open ocean?
Hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appeared to stoke the flames Sunday, declaring that Iran's military will "break the hand" of anyone targeting his country's nuclear facilities.
He spoke during a military parade displaying various types of Iranian-made missiles. Also in the parade was a military truck carrying a huge banner saying "Israel should be eliminated from the universe" in both English and Farsi.
Let's see how Obama handles this one.
Also, remember that Mahmoud was elected as Iranian Head of State after Bush ramped up our muckings about in the Middle East. Could Ahmadinejad be a reaction to existing US policies, I wonder?
In that case, wouldn't McPalin just fan the flames?
With diplomacy.
People forget that at one time -- rightafter9/11, ahem -- Iran was willing to step up and support us in a time of need, in one case -- 9/11, ahem -- before the rest of the "civilized" Western nations.
Not everyone in Iran agrees with Ahmadinejad, just like most Americans disapprove of Bush. Diplomacy intelligently sheds light on these things in a way that will engender support for the UN and the rest of the world. Airstrikes, as McPalin are excited about, will only serve to drive Iran further into the strategic arms of Russia... WW3, anyone?
I am sickened by the media bias in this country. It is apparent that this author, and the majority of every other so-called journalist feels superior to "middle-Americans". They just cannot accept the fact that a successful person with a good education does not share their world view. The reason for this difference is because she grew up with a value system that has shaped her choices in ways different from their own. Where is the tolerance and attitude of inclusion so often touted by the left?
I think what happens is that when these elitists start to look at themselves and their peers based on the standards to which she lives her life, they pale in comparison. She has managed to maintain her dignity, take the high road, walk the walk, etc, and still be successful in everything she has done. She is courageous, intelligent, poised, honorable, ethical, experienced and READY.
More power to her. For those of you who put her down to feel superior, I suspect that lurking inside a dark place inside, you have a serious sense of inferiority.
As a white, protestant, working at home mom, I can say right now that I will never see "eye to eye" with Sarah Palin. ..ever. Her prenatal care for her down-syndrome baby was atrocious. Not to mention her neglect when she and the "dude" just had to stay in Texas giving their first daughter a chance to get knocked up and for Palin to ignore her "dangerous travel time" while pregnant about ready to give birth.. While very beautiful, her "spin" is rote and she is in every way a narcisistic "blowhard". I wouldn't want her as my mom, my political leader or even as my Sunday school teacher!
Just what we need in the White House as if we haven't been embarrassed enough in eight years. A Senior Moment with his hand on the trigger, a Pentacostal V.P. who speaks in Tongues just waiting for God's Word. Is the country going truly nuts?

The bald guy, Andrew Sullivan is a conservative, a consistent one. Feel free to google him.
Here's how he's described on Wiki, and after reading his books, I agree:
Sullivan is a classical libertarian conservative who has argued that the Republican Party has abandoned true conservative principles.[8] He views true conservatism as classical libertarian conservative, where economic control of a citizen???s daily life by the government is very limited. However, this style of conservatism differs from classic libertarianism in that some governmental control or regulation is acceptable in order to preserve a functional society as it currently exists. Stances on social or cultural issues, under this style of conservatism, resemble the stances of classical libertarianism or modern U.S. liberalism. While stances on foreign policy are more hawkish than classic libertarianism, this style of conservatism differs from current neo-conservatism and arguably more closely resemble U.S. liberalism from the early 1930???s up until the late 1960???s. In the foreign policy sphere, Sullivan's foreign policy views have become somewhat less hawkish following the difficulties of the Iraq War.[citation needed]
Palin worldview, truth is outdated and irrelevent. but she speaks directly to the millions of PTA Moms who would control the nuclear button. Don Rickles gave us the hockey puck VP!
Panic in the Obama camp as dynamics now clearly favor McCain. "At a time of crisis, Americans tend to rally around strong leaders. Americans view McCain as such a leader. While Obama is increasingly viewed as a grandiose, self involved, opportunistic, elitist, egg headed, self aggrandizing, sissy"said a top pollster for the Obama campaign this morning.
You are putz number one. Actually the trends are just the opposite. OOOPS
The Repig's would vote for a One-eyed Mongolian Pedophile before they would let go of any power, however destructive it may be. I almost hope the Repig's win the Election , so in four more years after the country is destroyed maybe they would wake up, I seriously doubt it though.
As a
For a party that is supposed to be for the little or common guy you you are completely out to lunch. Everyone of your arguments against Palin could be used against Obama and you so condenscendingly critique Palin. Do we want an inexperienced vp, better an inexperienced vp than president. Then consier your argument about what her church believes, is that any scarier than a presidential candidate whose church believes the black separitist doctrine. Finally you bring in Palin's minor children but critics are told to shutup and leave family out of the campaign when Michelle is criticized. Hypocrisy seems to be the sin you hate the most and yet your article is full of it.
How is it we are to sit and judge Sarah Palin by the company she keeps but when we do the same for Obama we are being petty? Obama has some scary people in his life, the Rev. Wright, and the list goes on and on. Terrorists ties, his step brother, Obama has no more experience than Palin, he is an emplty suit and did what the Chicago political machine wanted him to do.
I agree that the title of this article is bogus.
How can any American vote for Obama when he didn't know he was part of an anti-american church for 20 years...20 years and he didn't hear the message? I will never vote for him.
This article mentions hypocracy of Palin's daughter getting knocked up, but I see much more hypocracy going the other way. Palin has not been campaigning for 18 months to be VP, she humbly accepted a position that McCain tapped her for. Few could argue that the duration and caliber of Palin's experience is comparable to Obama's. Obama attended a pretty nutty church himself, if I recall. Maybe Palin would be a great VP, maybe not.
It is also curious that it is automatically assumed the McCain will be dead before January 2013. McCain looks the same as he did a year ago, Obama looks ten years older. Who knows how either one would respond to the office of the presidency?
Elitism when used for a politician implies he or she is out of touch. Of course elite and exceptional people go into national politics, otherwise they couldn't properly represent hundreds of thousands of peoplel. You'd have to be pretty smart and elite to get to be a governor.
Palin is no where near as radical as Bush. She has some understanding and empathy for Americans.
McCain picked Palin becuase every time a Hillary supporter looks at Palin, they are reminded that Palin is a girl scout compared to Hillary, but they are also reminded that Obama royally screwed up by not putting Hillary on the ticket. Strategy succeeded.
As an undecided Democrat, I want to see more humility form Obama and his supporters.
Another example of the press not getting religion. http://www.getreligion.org/?p=3922
How does the press not "get" religion?
I notice that if you substitute Obamas name in the things he claims Sarah doesnt know they seem to be just as
true and Obama isn't running for the #2 spot. How does organizing ping-pong tournaments count as qualification to be president. Elitism was not a prerequsite for office the last time I looked.
