Zacy, only you and Hannity would think that Obama can be compared to Palin and her lack of academic credentials and failure to show through her life any evidence of a comprehensive grasp of the issues most important to our country today (e.g., the complex economy and foreign affairs) or even any interest in or consideration of them! I'm not going to recount Obama's experience discussing and thinking about and dealing with these issues during his career inside and outside of the Senate. Nah, why waste my time when all I have to do is point to his degree from Harvard (and selection to be the President of Harvard Law Review) and his campaign debates to date to have him far surpass Palin. She got nothing, nada, zippo. And to compare her to Obama is to not really understand different levels of intellect.

Did you even read the rest of the article? Care to address any of the numerous salient points he made that had nothing to do with matters of faith? Care to make a positive claim about some bit of experience or ability that Palin HAS that makes her a realistic candidate for anything? Are you saying you're HAPPY to vote for someone whose vague, evasive answers (like the repeated, "you can't blink") are obviously intended to distract from the fact that she's got no clue in the world on foreign policy, economics, diplomacy, etc.,..., the list is painfully long. Is it not clear to you that the rote appeals to a few over-simplistic character traits (religious - check; mom - check; loves to shoot guns - check; "I just said, 'thanks but no thanks,' to that ethics investigati,... er, wait, that bridge to nowhere!" - check) instead of positive claims of salient experience, are just an appeal to ignorance? This VP candidate is a train-wreck waiting to happen. Should McCain (who, face it is 72 and has had run-arounds with cancer - malignant melanoma to be precise) get elected and, not even necessarily die, but wind up of insufficient health to serve as president, you'd be HAPPY to have a president who would deal with the complicated matters of maintaining international peace by,... Palin is clearly more of the same - another of the same crassly cronyistic, cocky, irrationally overconfident and underqualified, power-grabbing yahoos who only endanger those they claim to wish to serve.

The deterioration of American schools-Maybe that???s because of the atmosphere of apathy passed down from the lazy welfare sucking parents to the kids in our education system. I will admit that education needs some serious reform, but that needs two things. That is willing participants and money.
That brings me to the next point which wasn???t listed. The plans that Obama has have one thing in common. They could all only be achieved in a perfect world. What Obama has planned assumes that everyone is perfect and willing to follow Obama. Without these things his plans would fail. And I am terribly sorry to inform you, but the world isn???t and never will be perfect.

I consider myself to be pretty educated for a 26 year old. With this in mind, I've had a passport much longer than Sarah Palin, I know what the Bush Doctrine is, and I've been to the middle east on numerous occasions. Does that make me overqualified to be VP of the US?

I was born and raised in a very small town of 900 people. There were no opportunities in that town and a disproportionate number of the people I went to high school with never went to college and many of them had children before the age of 20. So I made sure I did well in school, got into college on scholarships, and after graduation moved to a big city. I am now doing well for myself and for my family. I am able to travel to expand my horizons, I have health insurance for the first time in my life, and I have a retirement plan and I am fluent in spanish and arabic. Does this make me elitist?

It seems that the Republicans would prefer that I remained in my home town, barefoot and pregnant with my 6th child, no health insurance, no education, having never traveled anywhere in my life or learned a second language. And people seriously want to vote for these people? Seriously? I am worried about the mentality of the Americans who want this way of life, who shun education and knowledge, and who think that the VP of the United States should be a "regular Joe' with no knowledge of the world beyond their home state.

I might vote for such a person in a pie contest. Maybe.

Islamism on a hundred fronts- And we really think that Obama will fix that? Read between the lines. He???s not picking sides because he doesn???t want to offend anyone. He says that his faith is one that leaves doubt and that every religion is just as good as the next. I???m waiting for Obama to say (stolen from an article in Reader???s Digest), ???You???re all unique, just like everyone else.???(Don???t you love sarcasm?)
Lastly, Obama says he will always fall back on his roots. To me and to those that actually use their brain that means that he will always fall back on his Muslim heritage. I am not going to make absurd claims about things that Obama didn???t say, but I will take what he said and decipher the implications. He is a smart man and all that he is doing is manipulating the ignorant. Hitler did the same. He made communism seem so great that it didn???t even look like communism. And I will end with a slightly tweaked quote from Obama. ???You can put lipstick on Karl Marx, but he???s still a communist.???

Hey, Ronnie, that Alaskan oil and gas won't be available until a decade from now, and then will go into the world market. If you think McCain and Palin are going to bring gas down by drilling, you're dreaming. The oil companies are sitting on tens of billions of acres and guess what? They're not drilling! You know why? They like gas prices just where they are, and since their lobbyists are now working on the McCain/Palin campaign, that's what you'll see more of in a McCain/Palin administration - ever higher gas prices and no alternatives in sight!
