John McCain is an avid reader and is known for rereading many works of his favorite authors. The favorite author of John McCain is Herman Wouk who has written The Winds of War, War and Remembrance, and the Caine Mutiny. FDR and Harry Truman went outside the normal channels of military command and relied on Victor Henry for straight talk advice on how to approach Russia and Germany and Japan prior and during World War II. John McCain sees himself as the Victor Henry character who was a realist in foreign policy and understood the nuances of war and foreign policy better than anyone. John McCain is a realist and more knowledgeable about foreign policy than either Joe Biden or Barack Obama due to his experiences and also just growing up as the son and grandson of Navy admirals. Barack Obama and Joe Biden have no military background between them and do not even have the background to know who to connect with to get straight back channel information. Barack Obama and Joe Biden lack the knowledge to even ask the right questions even if they could line up a current day Pug Henry commander to give them the straight scoop. It is totally inaccurate to argue that John McCain is somehow dogmatic in his approach and understanding of foreign affairs. Herman Wouk wove history into his novels. There is saying that those who do not know history are doomed to repeat history. John McCain knows history and has lived it and will use that knowledge to guide the United States through the tough challenges that we face in the war on terror, radical Islam and dealing with a resurgent Russia.

Every election is an opportunity for Americans to affirm their best aspirations. Which candidate will give voice to them?

It was not "unbridled capitalism" that caused this meltdown in the markets. It was party-line democrat opposition to a bill back in 2005 that would have disallowed Fannie and Freddie to back risky sub-prime loans. If that had become law, we would have avoided this mess we're in.

The last 8 years were run by an arrogant stubborn group under the leadership of George Bush. He whacked the entire Republican philosophy with every sincle thing he did, except taxes. But the leadership in the Congress,hated his attitude but supported him anyway, and that incl;udes the Democrats. But bottom line, he did not run a typical Republican government. He really was his own party which very few people went alomng with. So, let's not bash the Republicans for his activities. He was as bad for the Republican party as anyone could be. Obama, is not new. He is old Democratic policies, pre-Clnton, so everytime he suggest you turn the page, what he really means is turn the page back. McCain is and always was a maverick. Why he is not running his campaign as one has to do I suppose, with expediencey. He can't lose the Republican base but therefore he cannot win over the independent voters. So he is in a quandary. Unfortunately he comes across too bitter and it appears he is not focused on one message well thought out but delivered with confidence. So the beat goes on. ONE THING IS FOR SURE. WHAT EVERYBODY DId HATE ABOUT THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION WAS HIS STUBBORNNESS AND ARROGANCE. WELL 4 MORE YEARS? YOU BET IF YOU ELECT OBAMA. Yeah, that's a great idea, let's all go look on the NRA website and listen to how they're angry about how Obama would be against legalizing the private ownership of tactical nuclear weapons and battleships if elected. Honestly, if there's one place the average person SHOULDN"T be going for info, it's the NRA. Look at their position on the assault weapon ban. Ever since it was lifted crimes commited with assault weapons have QUADRUPLED, but the NRA doesn't care about public safety, just about their precious "freedom" to own whatever weapon they please.
