Israel-Iran confrontation is simply stupid. In a region full of arabs surrouding them, the only thing sane to do is to become strong allies, like things were 30 years ago. Iran was the country that provided oil for israel in israel-arab war. Don't take ahmadinejad seriously, no one does in Iran, believe me.

KYAN, maybe you can enlighten some of the people on this board by telling them how the Iranian Gov. denies the students the right to hold elections, that the Iranian people are progressive, they basically like the West, its culture, and freedoms. Its the Iranian Gov., NOT the populace. They are a young country, and desire free speech, democracy. NOT an Islamic theocracy. The Iranian Gov. is pushing thier country into a pasting they will NEVER forget, coz they want a nuclear capability. Who's to say they won't give it to Hezbollah? Israel MUST be pro-active, that strategy has worked for a long time.

So there's no 13th Imam, after all? I was so looking forward to him coming out of hiding.

The only way to get to those hardened, underground sites is a joint Israeli-US strike. Whether the US is up to it or not, we will see during the next Administration. This sounds horrible, but low-yield nuclear bunker busters are part of the US arsenal, and using them in the desert may happen. Crippling Iran's ability to strike back is essential. It has to be a multi-targeted strike, involving hundreds of planes, over a period of weeks. Iran is building a nuclear capability, and with those psychotic mullahs and the midget Pres. in charge, you can expect them to use it. Middle East Times says there are 2 carrier battle groups on the way, including the UK's Ark Royal, a French battle group, and French Rafale's that will be launched from US carriers. A BLOCKADE may be in the works.

    Addressing the United Nations'general Assembly
Iranian president reitrated his resolve that
Iranian nucear program is for peacefull purposes
    he further stated that
Iran has decided will never depend on others
''we need electricity for domestic requirement.

    Inspite of this reassurence
United States and 5+1 are not ready to believe in
they are insisting that Iran sould stop riching uranium
and accepte incentives offered by them to Iran.

I am of the view that
Iranian leadership has decided to nuclear weapons
    which need some more time
because United states has traped in Afghanistan and Irag
and on the other hand Pakistan has also delined America
access to the trible areas which is called safe haven of insurgents.

    In the meanwile,
a new conflict has been created
between Russia and the United States
    by Russian Ggression on Goargia.

In fact America has traped in the mud
which has been created by itself
    and in such circumstances
Iran has availed a delightfull oppotunity
    in becoming nuclear power.

The United Nations body is a ''FARCE''. This conglomerate did not have the intelligence & wisdom to detect the fallacy in Colin Powell's presentation on behalf of the Bush administration, the day he made his case for the invasion of Iraq. And to the extreme, the United Nations did not have the balls to stop the American forces from obeying the horrifying orders of their commander in chief - up to this day no one could hold this commander accountable for the fabrication of intelligence data that led to this heinous crime. This tells me one thing, that''might is right'', so help me God.

    Increase in manufacturing nuclear arms,
is clear cut harm to the world security,
    it must be ban,

the question is that who will do it/
United Nations has forgotten its due role,
    in the international affares.

i am not in favour ,
that few countries has right ,
    manufacturing all kind of weapons,
including nuclear weapons, and sunctions are imposed on others.

All such weapons must be finishe so that
every one living in this nuclear armed world may take sigh of peace.

Sahran, pls,i would like to advice you,
    reconsidered the doduments,
    relating to the nuclear peolifration,,
    such as;
    ''Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty,(CTBT)
    Non Prolifration Treaty(NPT)
    having considered the documents,
you will atumatically reached the conclusion that
how such horrific mistakes they made at the time of signing,
    their own death warrent.

The Iranian president Ahamadinejad never waged war on any nation, but the beloved American president George .W. Bush is responsible for the ''tens of thousand'' of innocent lives lost in Iraq. Where is the focus of justice among world leaders - they all sat there and listened to him address the United Nations.
Who is this Obama anyway? is he the new president of the U.S.A.?

  • Posted By: Sahran @ 09/24/2008 7:12:46 AM

    To Sultan Ahmed.
You lost me, I have no idea what you are trying to say.
The only reason the U.S and its deputies around Europe and the Middle East are opposed to the Iranian nuclear program is they believe it is a potential threat to Israel. The U.S and some European want Israel to be the only nuclear power in the Middle East. The Saudis, Egyptians, Jordanians and Kuwaitis do not matter, they will do what Uncle Sam tells them to do or say.

    there are some examples,
    which support American stance,
    have taken by it,

    History is witness,
when India prepared manufacturing nuclear weapons,
it desbribed it as peacefull purposes,
but aftermath it was seen atomic bomb was made,
    and in this way,
    India became nuclear power.

    Pakistani reservations created in reaction,
    that was natural,
    they were traditional enimies.

nuclear enrichment was started in pakistan,
by saying pakistan's atomic programm for peacfull purposes,
but in fact, like India, nuclear weapons were being manufactured.
and at last pakistan also became nuclear power.

American concerned on the situation ,
created in subcontinant after creation two countries armed with mass destruction weapons,
was genuine due to being Kashire a flushoint between the nuclear power.

    No doubt,
nuclear weapons prolifration is not favour of world peace,
    so Iran has same stance,
as India Pakistan had in very begining,
by saying it is for peacefull purposes,
the reality is that all the preparation is being against Israel.

    There is another element,
to which can not be disregard,
United Nations must adopte a procedure,
through which every nation should gaine justice,
there must also be a equal law for small and large country.

But have seen The united Nations could not fullfiled its task.
    so its the other reason,
small nations draw its attention manufacturing weapons and violating principle ,
    regarding the prolifration.

In case all the countries of the world,
    repect the principles,
    set by the united nations,
in regard to ban on nuclear prolifrations,
it would be best in favour of peace,
    in the world.

    United States,
    is right in his stand,
Iran should give up its nuclear programm,
    and avoid hypocricy,
    and should accept incentive,
which is better for its economy and welfare of the Iranian people.
on the issue of international prolifration.

    To PhillyA.
Most arabs do not want anything to do with the US, except for the Ass kissing Saudi and Kuwaitis. In fact they believe the old Mexican saying: Poor Mexico, so close to the U.S and so far away from God.

Actually, read up on the history of the conflict and in particular that with Iran. Israel has REPEATEDLY come to the first line to help the US and many Israelis have died doing so. The difference is, they do it covertly, with no glory for all the guts, lest it p-ss off our Arab "friends" whom Americans routinely die for. The alliance with Israel is no charity.

I wonder, would Israel be the first in line to aid us in conflict?

    • Posted By: garysgary @ 09/22/2008 1:23:45 PM

The answer to your question is a resouding...NO! Are any Israeli soldiers dying in Iraq? Are the Israelis paying anything for the Iraq war? Will any Israelis die in the coming war with Iran? NO...NO...NO! Just Americans dying, just Americans paying! All to protect Israel...Why?

  • Posted By: Partoftheplan @ 09/22/2008 11:33:27 AM

Common sense is always good in everyone's interest. However, you have none: wasn't Jesus non-christian (lol). I hope your are not a Nazi, because America is for everyone: Yes even us Jews.

    • Posted By: garysgary @ 09/22/2008 11:39:02 AM

Yes, America is for everyone...too bad Israel isn't.

  • Posted By: garysgary @ 09/22/2008 11:08:16 AM

Sorry, American interests and "Israeli" interests are not the same....from previous post.

  • Posted By: garysgary @ 09/22/2008 10:50:17 AM

Why does the U.S. fight Israel's wars? Why do we arm them? What do we owe them? It seems to me that we would want to get along with Iran...they produce oil and Israel does not! American interests and U.S. interests ARE NOT the same...it is impossible to have the same interests. We are two vastly different countrries. First, we are on one side of the world and Israel is on the opposite side of the world. Second, we're a christian nation and they are non-christian. Third, we have 300 million people, Israel has 7.5 million people. I could go on and on about our differences...but you gat the point....regardless of what Hillary, McCain , Leiberman and AIPAC say....U.S. interests and Israeli interests are not the same!...DUMP ISRAEL!

John McCain is an avid reader and is known for rereading many works of his favorite authors. The favorite author of John McCain is Herman Wouk who has written The Winds of War, War and Remembrance, and the Caine Mutiny. Wouk served as an executive Naval officer aboard a minesweeper during War War II and used that experience in forming the character of Captain Queeg in the Caine Mutiny. Victor Henry the main character in Winds of War and War and Remembrance was a naval officer who became a confidant both to FDR and Harry Truman. FDR and Harry Truman went outside the normal channels of military command and relied on Victor Henry for straight talk advice on how to approach Russia and Germany and Japan prior and during World War II. John McCain sees himself as the Victor Henry character who was a realist in foreign policy and understood the nuances of war and foreign policy better than anyone. John McCain is a realist and more knowledgeable about foreign policy than either Joe Biden or Barack Obama due to his experiences and also just growing up as the son and grandson of Navy admirals. It is totally inaccurate to argue that John McCain is somehow dogmatic in his approach and understanding of foreign affairs. Herman Wouk wove history into his novels. There is saying that those who do not know history are doomed to repeat history. John McCain knows history and has lived it and will use that knowledge to guide the United States through the tough challenges that we face in the war on terror and dealing with a resurgent Russia.

nawawimohamad , you are just a brainwashed peson that can not recognize reality even his master (US) say it. If israel is in that position then why US need to play down play her capabilities, when you are in power then you do not need to do anything. We saw already what israel is capable of in lebanon. ME is iran back yard for next 200 hundred years even without nukes and arabs will pay a huge price for their lack of knolwdge and logic.

  • Posted By: arashasadi72 @ 09/20/2008 8:05:06 PM

Isrealies are good to be entertain people. All those poof and paaf turn to be just mohammad sahaf of saddam clown. iran is next super power and get used with it.

    • Posted By: St. Germain @ 09/21/2008 2:44:17 AM

Get a grip on reality dude! Iran's going to get what is comming to it and it's not being a super-power. Prehaps in their little region they can be a super-power, not globaly though.

  • Posted By: nawawimohamad @ 09/21/2008 12:06:23 AM

The US is only down playing Israel's military capabilities. Israel has proven before that it can do covert operations and full of surprises. The apparent lack in physical capabilities would be augmented by Israel's ingenuity, especially it has managed to survive thus far by using proxies to fight its wars. Israel will always use surprises to its advantage. I believe Israel can take on the Iranian nuclear complex "anytime".
