    How can one say this is not important, nor newsworthy? I suppose if the article suggested Obama was an elitist, the neocons here would be all over it! LOL, it's just laughable, that's what it is! This is important, oh ye of little knowledge, because McSame has referred to himself as an average Joe, which indeed he is not. This is important because it directly refutes what he claims to be. The fact that this seems to go over one's head is not surprising! Not newsworthy? Pish posh, get real. How many stupid people are in America?? Apparently a lot more than I had figured. Anyone who thinks 'liberal' is a bad word needs to get out their dictionary. Conservatives are scared of change, while we libs know it is crucial to our own evolution. Better catch up people, or you're gonna be left behind. Mother Nature weeds out the weak for us, so beware.....

    While this has been interesting, it really points to the one-sided arogance of the press. The REAL question, although non of you have #@#$#@ to ask, doesn't relate to the McCains or for that matter the pimp-mobile that Obama drove. The REAL question is who - - besides we everyday Joe Taxpayer - - pays for Joe Biden to ride the Acela from Wilmington to DC 4 days + a week? If we use the average fare of $125 each way for four days a week, and 200 days per year, well, that's $50,000 per year jsut to get Joe to and from his job.......for all those who think McCain is out of touch, you need to look at Biden. BTW, I'm sure he has cars on both ends of the train ride as well. Of course, he doesn't ride the train now. According to the conductor, the Secret Service won't let him ride the train. What's up with that? Finally, so they have a few cars, so what. I see lots of people with 5 or 6 cars, and they only have one house.

    Interesting to note that Cindy McCain's car is registered to her family's business so that she can claim it as a tax deduction for the business, get discounted fleet insurance, and use tax-free, wholesale gas from the "company pump". I am tired of my gas tax paying for the roads she drives on because her Lexus is registered to the company business. She gets a tax break on the car and the gasoline it uses.

    What makes a difference on how many cars a presidential candidate owns? It is no secret that McCain's wife comes from a wealthy family. This is far from a news worthy article and in my opinion, just shows that Newsweek is being biased in this election.

      the difference is that mcsame has continually painted himself as america's "everyman," experienceing and understanding the problems of you, "middleclassamerican," and other suffering blue-collar familes. truth be told, this is a man who came from a dynastic naval family, ensuring him a spot in the naval academy despite the fact he was in the bottom 2 percentile of the class of 58', and married a heiress worth in excess of $100 million; he does not have the slightest clue how much average, hard-working americans are hurting.

        ill bet Mr. MCcain is not going to be worried about how he is going to pay to heat his how many homes i forget? or how he is going to pay for the fuel needed to get back and forth to work to make the money he needs to pay for that heat just as we the slowly shrinking average americans do. he has no idea how hard it is to get by these days. the story about the 13 cars is in my opinion supposed to serve as an example of wastefull spending MCcain does personally what do you think he is going to do as president.

    I think the issue is that McCain is completely out of touch with the average person and our struggles. I have one trimmed down Ford Focus and my husband has 5 year old Suzuki Aerio. We have one condo, one kitchen table, and are very blessed to be financially sound at this time. The issues are related to his inability to appreciate the struggles of some of our friends who work 2 jobs--still without health insurance. We have another friend with 4 little boys, married, and works long, hard hours as a waitress while she's finishing her college degree--no health insurance either. If we would have bailed out the people whose houses were being foreclosed on instead of waiting for it to be a huge financial mess, we would have been better off. But McCain and his cronies were too busy raking in the lobbyist dough and helping their rich friends to become richer that he neglected to notice the average person in the "fundamentally sound economy" wasn't doing so well. That's the issue of his cars and his voting record.
