I don't care what the candidates and their families ride. What I want to know is, how are they going to handle this economy that is tanking. I want John McCain to explain why he wants to privatize Social Security. He said in 2004 that he wanted to do that. Imagine what a mess we would have had on our hands today if he had his way. Please ask him about that. Please ask Obama what he plans to do about the down spiral about the economy.

And while you are at it, ask Sarah Palin about which story is which on the Troopergate brouhaha. The story has changed so many times. The last straw, she claimed was due to insubordination -- that the trooper in this case traveled to Washington D.C. without her knowledge. Well, records now show that her office signed off on the travel document. These lies are getting out of hand. Don't you guys have any investigative reporters to go down there and figure this thing out instead of focusing on the number of cars the candidates have. I could care less. The local press is doing a far better job on this than the national press.

Get down there, guys and do your job.

To add to your comments, about Sarah Palin. All she has is a loud, big mouth, while saying nothing. Everyone thinks that being a Hockey mom makes her this knowledgeble candidate for VP. In my opinion girl friends has issues. Like mother, like daughter. Sarah eloped, and eight months later, she had a baby. This is why, she has no issue about her daughter being pregnant. The apple don't fall far from the tree.

As for the Hillary's disgruntled supporter, who now want to vote for McCain. How soon we forget, that one of McCain's volunteers called Hillary a b----, and McCain laughed. It's not about, Hillary losing the Nomination. It's about not wanting, a Black man as President. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Wake up America.

Waaaahhhhhhh. Is it racist that 95% of blacks are voting for Obama?

    • Posted By: Ihavecommonsense @ 09/21/2008 1:19:27 PM

It depends on the reason for voting for Obama. If it's based on race, yes. If it isn't, no.
I'm no mind reader so I can't tell you if it's racist. and neither can anyone but that 95%, regardless of the idiots that think they are mind readers.

So how exactly does Ms Obama get to work if they only one car? Also, isn't the Accord built in the US by US workers? I think this is just another example of the press bashing McCain and giving Obama a free ride because he's black.

My family runs investment and real estate businesses and we don't always know how many homes we own. It's part of the business side of our lives.

And for the person who said we never heard about Bush's wealth. Isn't that like not hearing about Donald Trump's wealth anymore. You know it's there and it's common knowledge. He owned a baseball team for goodness sakes. I, for one don't need to hear about anyone's wealth to decide whether they will make a good President.. I personally think that someone who is able to be successful in life, and yes that includes being wealthy most of the time, as President.. And nope I'm not voting for McCain...has nothing to do with his wealth though. Anyone who will vote for someone based on that needs to not vote!

Re the Prius confusion: sounds like just another "senior moment" from the senator. Seriously, I'm really wondering if he is tracking all he says and if he even realizes how he is contradicting himself day by day. Can someone throw out the number of contradictions he does in a seemingly desperate attempt to win votes and think people won't notice or is he truly not "firing on all pistons" (sorry, couldn't help keeping the car analogy going)?

You gave out the woman's license plate number???!!! WTG! That's some responsible journalism for you.

  • Posted By: nanceee @ 09/21/2008 1:09:49 PM

Yes, we did hear about John Kerry, his wife and John Edwards' wealth. Constantly. The haircut, the boating, the Heinz ketchup heiress money, etc. etc. The difference is that we never heard about the Bush family wealth, made mostly from being in "public service" by the way.

Holy crap, you just gave the woman's license plate tag out! That is some responsible journalism. WTG, idiot!

More evidence of just how out of touch millionaire McSame is with normal Americans. The man doesn't know how many houses he and Cindy own!

I care. And I'm voting Obama!

  • Posted By: nanceee @ 09/21/2008 1:06:34 PM

Yes we did hear comments about John Kerry and his wife's wealth. And Edwards wealth. Remember the haircut costs, the catamaran boating, the ketchup heiress money, etc. etc.? We heard about it constantly. The difference is that we never heard about Bush's wealth.

What matters here is whether John McCain understands the economic woes of this country, Theoretically, he could do that while being rich, However, I have not seen evidence that he does understand the economy , the middle class or the poor. How many cars he has or where they originate does not change his shortcomings in this area.

Hiraeth, you are nuts..They lived the american dream, Are you fricking kidding me? John McBush did not earn a single cent of that money, he married into it, and Cindy did not earn a single cent of that money she inherited it from her mob daddy, wake up you smuck. The obamas are they ones that worked their way through school, and got scholarships, and pulled themselves up by their boothstraps and have earned everything that they have. So quick calling yourself an idenpendent or a democrat b/c if you truly were those things you would not be spewing that non-sense. Let me guess the real reason that you arent supporting obama .ummmm we all know the real reason, so quit making excuses. This country is drowning and a great man senator obama is offering it a rope to pull itself up and you are worried about non-sense. Grab the rope damnit

    Who Cares??????

  • Posted By: wheredidgoodreportersgo @ 09/21/2008 1:01:23 PM

Who cares? If we still think that Roosevelt, Kennedy, Washington, Jefferson, etc. were some of our best Presidents, who cares if someone is rich if they can do the job? It's ridiculous to be using material possessions as a litmus test for leadership. We don't need a common man (person) to lead us. We need smart visionaries with a command of the national and global issues and first-rate judgement--no matter how many cars or even yachts they may own. How about some decent reporting rather than this kind of petty, mindless story.

Who cares?????? I am middleclassed and so are my friends, some of which own several cars. Thayt is their business..

hiraeth, you are not a Democrat and you never were. You are a liar. It has been an old tactic of unimaginative right-wing pigs to say, oh, gee, I'm an independent or, I have also voted Democrat, but............ For the first time since 1980, the Democratic Party has allowed a Democrat to become the party's "standard-bearer." The Republicans have always had Republicans. The Republicans always cannibalize true conservatives though; e.g., Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan............

What the story does not tell us is whether Obama gets round town riding a bike or in a chauffeur driven limo paid for by the good people of Illinois?

Just a thought that occurred to a disinterested British observer.

What has the number of cars to do with being suitable to be President? The McCains are wealthy, have done very well for themselves, have lived the American Dream - what we all strive to do. When is the media going to focus on important issues like the economy, immigratiom national security, education, health care, social security, the war.... Where was the intense scrutiny of Obama in regards to his ASSOCIATIONS and dealings, strong indicators of CHARACTER and JUDGEMENT. It is shameful how biased the media is in this race, first with Hillary and now with McCain and Palin. I have been a lifelong Democrat but the lack of true scrutiny of Obama and flagrant bias of the press has moved me over to the McCain/Palin ticket. As stated before, Obama seems to be the CHOSEN ONE, he has been SELECTED, not ELECTED.

As long as they think it's okay to attack Obama as elitist, their wealth is fair game.
