Just wait until the rest of the world moves from using the USD as the world reserve currency (what we buy and sell oil with) to using the Euro as the reserve currency. (or even the Yuan)

Good faith in the dollar got smashed with the sub-prime garbage that was cut up, re-packaged, and then sold on to unsuspecting banks all over the world; and the US good credit in the world is now decimated by greed in Wall Street, who wants to be bailed out.

More than 50% of US debt was already owned by other countries in 2004 alone. That number is about to go even higher thanks to this snafu.

Soon there will be no international incentive to use USD as the world reserve currency. If countries start dumping their USD to trade oil in a more 'stable' currency, the USD will be worth as much as a peso.

This economic problem is only just getting started.

Thank you to all the news media for doing exactly what the American people expect you to do...print the truth irregardless of all the mud thrown at you by DC. In case they forgot, you have a constitutional right to research and inform the American people of all sides of the issue. Makes me proud to be an American!.

Only 700 billion? Why not throw in a few trillion for good measure. We'll borrow the money from China. The Chinese are our friends and they'll understand. :)

The BBC Saturday night had an insider commentator who said the hedge fund managers were the biggest spenders at all the ritzy resorts in Europe. They would drop twenty thousand pounds for a weekend in Ibeza. Now that their speculative bubble has burst, the ones most feeling the pinch are the many high-end brothels they used to patronize. This is who we are bailing out.

John McCain is a Republican plant. The republicans knew the whole country would be up in arms by the time they got done stealing our livelyhoods.McCain started voting on insignificant issue tilting towards the left so he could campaign on change.I have been voting for republicans most of the time. After this administration I do not think I will vote for a republican ever again.

Thank all the wonderful culture warriors and whoever else was stupid enough to vote for George Bush and the Republican controlled congresses from '94 through '06. These have trully been historic disasters weve witnessed for the last 8 years. The effects will be with us for a long, long time. Good Job.

My Dad, ( I am now 67) had a comment that applies to this whole mess: "We shouid put them all on a scow in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with one oar and a bucket." When asked what a scow was, he would say, " It's something like a raft, only it leaks more."

No need to worry. We will just print more money. Into the black hole it goes.

Lets put it this way, the past eight years of the Bush Administration has become a total washout. We're stuck on two costly war fronts, and now bailing out investment banks - it will easily tie the hands of the next administration to repair all the damage of the Bush-Cheney years. We won't go foward as a nation for at least the next two years or more, there is too much damage control. Hopefully this is the last major Bush suprise we'll have to endure - but somehow, I don't think so...

Bring back the 15 million jobs to America and we WILL be able to pay our Mortgages. This is not about some guy who got a loan who didn't qualify, this is about the 3.69 million Unemployed Americans and another 10 million that aren't showing up in the reports. We should not be accountable for the bailout!

TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION........(remember the Boston tea-party).

Hello I dont have any problem with these foolish bailouts . Why isnt the pay back of the moneie going to come in monthly installments from theose entities that just got the loans to solve the problems that the inept CEO's and mangement screwed up on. So, if our little mom and pop store makes bad choices they have to find a way to beg borrow or (no only the government can do the stealing) . Mom has to cut her income to pay back the loan. sell the car, and find a way to do inteligent business. See, the LOANS not the BAILOUTS are the BORROWERS PROBLEM. Pretty simple like our government officials MPLE!!!!!

LOL... for not having a problem you sure had a lot to say.

  • Posted By: MrDuffy @ 09/22/2008 9:42:44 PM

Just say no to financial bail outs.
I don't expect help when I screw up.
I'm damned if I want to help them when they screw up.

Hello, What is this BAILOUT C R A P all about I see these as loans to be paid back by the entities that got them. I didnt screw up their business if a mom & Pop store made problems in their business and then BORROWED money to keep it afloat that is what they have to do. and guess who pays that loan back. Now I know that sounds too simple however considering the USA has the SIMPLEIST aka DUMBEST POLITICIANS in the world why haven't they thought of this. You know nearly 230 years ago the people finally said NO MORE to the mightiest nation in the World ( England). This present government is doing far more harm to us now then England ever did. Where are the Patriots today so we can take a stand against the oppression and tyrrany that this government represents!!!!!

We the people must insist that big business must be downsized. The CEO's are too high up to see what is going on in their businesses. Greed and power have corrupted them. Our congress is equally at fault, they have been pre-occupied with their own greed and power. Our economy will survive, it will be tough, but it will survive. Those companies who sought to be greedy must face the consequences of their failed actions. Also, we the people must consider voting out all incumbents. We need a new face in government. In the meantime, contact your representative and senator, and have your say.
