That's pretty funny that a 20-something is fretting about drink prices going up at his favorite bars due to people cutting back on luxuries like 'bottle service.' This attitude of young people thinking they need to (or should) spend $300/bottle (not kidding) of liquor at a bar. That's crazy. Bars existed long before they figured out that they could sell a $20 bottle of vodka for $300 to young people more intent on imitating rap idols (on a college student's budget?) than saving for their futures.

I am young enough (31) to feel those pressures from society, but do not agree that ANY of our generation need these luxury items/services. To what end?

When I was in high school, I don't remember any girls with $500 purses. Now apparently Coach and Louis Vuitton purses are the 'must have' items for 16 year olds. Certainly these girls do not have incomes to afford them these items; it is their parents, who likely cannot afford them either who are shouldering this burden. Ditto for cell phones, ipods, gps units for cars... none of these things existed a few years ago, now it is considered completely normal to always have the newest and most expensive gadgets to show off at your reserved table with your $300 bottle of vodka!?!

Anyone see anything wrong with this picture of young people living far beyond their means? And creditors willing to loan them the money to support this lifestyle?

This is a recipe for disaster. The financial services industry MUST BE STRONGLY regulated once again.

i'm getting really tired of seing our 'millenial' generation portrayed as idiots who are irresponsible, can't control their credit card and have a flippant attitude about their work. Grow up and stop making us look like idiots.

It's not the twenty-somethings that have to worry bu the 50-60 year olds who are still paying of the twenty-somethings education bills, have had their pensions turned into 401K which are now disappearing. The one thing that will stem the illegal information will be the baby boomers competing for their jobs.

As a 20-something myself, I got absolutely nothing from reading the conversation between these two airheads. It was just a list of questions (many of them were not even good questions) and absolutely no answers. And did it really have to play into the stereotypes about us having short attention spans and blissful ignorance about the world? Why not bring in some reputable economists and get their take on what this really means for our generation? I have a few questions for the panel: Can we expect the same return on our investments that our parents and grandparents got over the last 30 to 40 years or was the last half century one big economic bubble? What's going to happen to our taxes and savings when the costs of Social Security, Medicare, and other "mandatory spending" explodes to over 50% of the GDP over the next 50 years?

    "What a stupid article. "

Agreed, I would have liked to read an article about how this crash is affecting recent college grads since I am one myself. That wasn't what this is though, I'm not sure what this article was about. I think it was just a subtle paid advertisement for Apple.
