Nonsense. The Raines connection is tenuous at best. No comparison to what is being revealed about Rick Davis. If Isikoff's reporting is confirmed and Davis received these payouts from Freddie until just last month, McCain is done. As he should be. Seems quite likely that THIS is the reason for the panicked attempt to ditch the debate.

McCain and Palin have NO economic plan and NO plan to end this war in iraq. The Republicans have created this economic mess with their failed policies. A Republican is a Republican. I don't trust McCain and Palin. Iraq has a 75 billion dollar surplus while we have huge budget and trade deficits here in our own country. Get to the polls and vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden!

It seems as if this is a tit for a tat. The McCain campaign stretched and distorted the truth on Obama's supporters ties to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. And the Obama campaign has decided to either directly or indirectly retaliate in kind. So to me the cleaner winner in this exchange is Obama because he got the last word and this story truly exposes how the Republicans operate so sleazily in Washington. Whether he did or didn't get paid is irrelevant. He WAS part of the corrupt, inept system.

Obamas success as a government slumlord we already saw in his running of state monies to the GROVE PARC apartment complex which were maintained by REZMAR and Associates,belonging to a Mr.Tony Rezko. For Obama,the deal was simple. Raines would get the dough to SUPERIOR,then run by a Ms.Penny Prizker who now sits as Obama Campaign Finance Chairwoman,who would pump it to southsiders trying to get out of the crime and rat-infested GROVE PARC. In return,FANNIE MAE and Prizker would back Obamas play for the US Senate.[Obama would be,and actually became,in a more excellent position at the federal level to pour more dough into Chicago home loans by banking institutions using FANNIE and FREDDIE cash and the money would roll in].

Democrats are big spenders. They spend billions. Republicans are not big spenders because they have conservative family values. That means that they save and don't spend. But, they do waste trillions, but that is not spending. The formula for this is, "republican thieves and wasters steal and waste more than democrat overspenders spend". So, whatever you do, don't ever vote for a liberal spending democrat.

I not only don't think that we would have spent as much on the Iraq war as the Republicans spent, but I believe that the Iraq war would never have started if the Democrats were in the presidency at the time. I have been so amazed that republicans still refer to "liberal spending democrats" after republicans have wasted more money than democrats ever thought of spending that I resort to sarcasm on the whole subject. If you didn't catch the sarcasm, kshortSD, then let me be more direct. Whatever you do, don't ever vote for a Republican. They are liberal spenders to a criminal extent. And guess who also got the bucks. Messiah Obama got big Fannie and Freddie political bucks to the tune of $126,000. He was No. 2 on the list over a twenty year period even though he collected for only three years. OBAMA A REFORMER? THERE IS A NEW FEDERAL INVESTIGATION OF THESE CROOKS!!!!

Does McCain's rebuttal even deny that there were payments made to Davis's firm till last month? This is what hapoens when people like McCain sling mud, only to find it slung back at you, making your just as guilty, and hypocritical. McCain's people are simply clinging to "Davis has not worked for Freddie Mac causes since 2006".
