Obama wants to give humanitarian aid to every country that asks for it while bombing Pakistan one of our allies! What if - God for bid - we kill even one innocent citizen of Pakistan in the process? Will NATO attack us to protect Pakistan? Will Pakistan bomb its enemies living on our soil? They have nuclear bombs you know! The absurdity should stop the foolish talk. We should get permission from Pakistan before making outlandish statements like bombing allies without explicit consent from their leaders. How would you feel if Russia, Iran or North Korea bombed us to kill their terrorists living in our country?

All these expenses that Obama has promised are going to cost a lot of money! Who will pay? Only those over $250K of income? They are too smart. They will take their money to other countries as so many companies have done with their jobs. Then who will pay? Who ever is left holding the bill.

In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything in the last 80 years.
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He didnt realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. Check out this link to the truth http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that .
    Elect Obama Biden 2008

I remember from my early school years, our country was founded on one of the premises of" No taxaxtion without representation". Whatever happened to that. It seems we are being forced fed all this taxtion and bailout money without one penny of it going to the anyone on Main Street or Mr Average Working Joe. Let Coprprate America do without for a change and give the bailout money back to the Americans.

Blaming those who were given mortgages they cannot afford is not the customer's fault. Most customers believe they wouldn't be given the loan if they couldn't afford it by someone who will take the fall if the customer defaults on that loan. Who knew they were playing lots of dirty tricks with the loan? It's not the customer's fault - they did nothing wrong except make a mistake in judgement. At least they didn't steal and guess what? They pay the price in loss of their home. What price did those who gave them the loan pay? Hey AIG staff - spa treatment anyone?

I took two semesters of economics in college in the 70's. I thought then as I think now, now of those people knew their butt from a hole in the ground. But, I do not think any of these models took into account what 30,000 lobbyist in Washington could and have done along with new innovative means of corporate greed. There are many of us who cannot afford property on Wall Street or Main Street, we are now putting our monies into Wal-mart, K-mart, Target, Dollar General, etc. The money we were going to invest, we now buy gas. I just don't think billionaires know how we thousand nairs are living one paycheck at a time.

Just like the hike in gas prices....I can not afford a tax hike and if that happens I will no longer be able to afford my home. You cant expect the poor to hold up the rich forever. I for one am proud of the American people for letting the government know that they have let us down. As for the new president, I am voting for my next door neighbor he can do as good as job as either of them. But I will not vote for any official that said yes to the bailout because I will not support that kind of blantent disrespect toward the American public. I will only buy American products and I will not buy a thing unless I absolutely have to....also those with credit cards interest rates are being hiked on your credit cards so read every statement they send you......the government voted down to protect the public from these usary interest rates, because the banks said it was part of their recovery. I for one see that the government is not my government or they would protect me. I wish you all good luck, hang on tight, and put on your seat belt we are in for the ride of our lives.

But somebody needs to tell these people ! for so they can readjust their own situation. I like many Americans don't mind. Under the new patriot act, the

I am the "Taxpayer Anger over Economy, Bailout" and I have a real name and a home.I don't want this bailout to happen and I want my Senators in South Carolina, Lindsey Graham, and Jim DeMent to tell John McCain and President George W. Bush I feel this way "NO BAILOUT".This will not end and bailout after bailout until their is no middle class because we become part of the minority class that can't pay taxes - we are the working class tax paying, insurance deprived poor middle class. We are the ones of European descent, the ones turned away at hospitals not blacks or imigrant hispanics that get a free care.Graham and DeMint I am a constituent "NO BAILOUT"

Comment: Bailout Wall Street and Main Street means bailing the water out of the boat back into the ocean on the heads of and into the open mouths of drowning middle class americans gulping for everyday survival of burdened taxation.European families left England and France due to 18% and more taxation without representation. We fought off Napolean (French) and England to gain our independence and freedom of religeon with fair taxation.Affirmative Action is the ultimate handout to civil service and education socialists who have become those in endentured servitude to the federal and state government through affordable housing along with DMV, Postal System, Prisons System, and Public Education handout of the best civil service jobs.A Kenyan as Commander And Chief of US Armed Forces and Police as-well-as Fire Departments will be a disaster we will not survive.Blacks will indeed be in endentured servitude and slaves to their own criminal RAP, HIP HOP, breeding and succumb to breeding more of the same with permissiveness and fornication to the frenzied beat of African drums. Our military will be sent to Somalia, Darfur, and Kenya and become a drop in the ocean of African decline - we cannot save them all.Obama is the Malcolm X, Lucifer follower who will lead blacks to their most horrible nightmare - a deep, dark, and sinister abyss with gnashing of teeth few will survive.Oh - Obama is not Lucifer but one of his weakest followers as their are more powerful than him to come perhaps of a differtent race.Obama is chump change compared to the next ones who follow him.

      Dear justanothervet:
Your comments are extremely racist and inflammatory. What about the First Americans that your European ancestors decided to steal from, rape, and torture. For the taxation without representation. You should be ashamed of yourself. Affirmative Action helped protect a lot of NATURAL born citizens get and hold jobs that they were and are rightfully qualified. Affirmative Action was needed, because of people like who seem to believe that individuals of European descent are the only ones that deserve the best that this country has to offer.

Not yet. But with the leadership of individuals like Barack Obama who certainly inspire and most importantly aspires the US citizens to think "outside of the box" and to believe that change can and will happen.

We most certainly need change. We have suffered 8 years now with a self absorbed leader that can joke about our tragidies and send our innocent young men & women to fight "his" battle and not even flinch. Now he has us in another battle amoung ourselves. What could be next?
NO BAIL OUT !! NO MORE BUSH !! NO MORE REPUBLICANS !!

Your racist and psychotic comments do nothing to advance the discussion - to paraphrase, we're talking about the economy, stupid. OPPOSED, OPPOSED!! The current Senate Bill, like the previous Bill, has too many special interest tags; do they STILL not get it!!

Absolutely it is special interests. Politicians need to put those in... why? So as to make people feel that they "care" about them. The inherent problem is that we have CAREER politicians. They have to "look" like they represent us, but actually it is all about "getting" along with all of the other Career politicians. Just like you have to get along with your fellow co-workers in order to keep your career going -- so to -- the politicians. The fastest way to fix it? Cut their salaries in half, get rid of their free health care, abolish their pension funds, allow travel only TO AND FROM their home. This in itself would help lower the national debtg.

The problem is that since FDR in the 30's put us on a FIAT currency -- which is a CREDIT currency -- they HAVE to bailout this mess. The Credit market is frozen. This country's finances ARE BASED on Credit not GOLD. We went off the Gold Standard thanks to FDR, who also illegally confiscated gold people had in bank deposit boxes, and we went off the international gold standard in the 70's. Credit currency allows one to expand to grander levels.... but the downside is that you eventually have to pay back!

OPPOSED, OPPOSED to the Senate Bill (and previous House Bill) since they have added all those special interest provisions. Neither the Senate nor Congress are sincere but obviously prefer feeding to their pet self-interests. This is the biggest scam ever imposed on the American people.
