ABC, Politico, Huffington, MSNBC and CNN all have now picked up on the Palin Witchcraft-Proof story. Do you guys want to discuss it? I think we should because it offers to us a little nugget of her wonderful character and beliefs. I think someone needs to interview her.

Why do you all repeat things over and over? I don't mean the actual double posts by people too excited to voice their opinion that they can't wait five minutes for it to show on some webpage...I mean the ones seperated by hours.

They have Alzheimer's disease or dementia or like McCain seems to have when he continually restates that the "fundamentals of the economy are strong." And like Palin continually restating that she was against the "bridge to nowhere."

    To careerdaytrader,

I don't agree with Obama's comment either but if that is all that outrages you then there in lies the problem. When McCain's campaign is showing all indications of dishonesty, lack of integrity, shady lobbying ties, and Palin's legal issues that border on "illegal" and all you can say is that a lack of saluting a flag outrages you? This kind of inconsequential nonsense is what this sad excuse for a Republican thrives on. And at this rate of scandals, who knows what is going to be thrown at us tomorrow.

Like I tell my sons, parties don't matter. What matters is who can we trust to protect our nation, not just from terrorist without but terrorist within who would defile our constitution. The national anthem is not part of our constitution.

McCain people like to compare him to Ronald Reagan. They don't belong in the same breath.

How many more blatent LIES and DISTORTIONS must we the people endure from the McCain campaign before we say

    ENOUGH!

When do the REPUBLICANS realize THEIR BRAND STINKS?

    After November 4 perhaps!

Thanks for the lies, careerdaytrader - that myth was debunked months ago. That quote was satire, fabricated by John Semmens of The Arizona Conservative. You right-wingers are on empty at this point, aren't you?

    Here's Sarah!

"The logistics that we are already suggesting here, not having enough troops in the area right now," Palin said. "The... things like the terrain even in Afghanistan and that border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, where, you know, we believe that - Bin Laden is - is hiding out right now and... and is still such a leader of this terrorist movement. There... there are many more challenges there. So, again, I believe that... a surge in Afghanistan also will lead us to victory there as it has proven to have done in Iraq.

    Wow.
    Have the debates today.

Ms. Palin's "interview" highlights were fabulous. I loved the part where she said "as far as she knows Mr. Davis is not on the payroll". As far as she knows? Couldn't she just ask him?

The wheels are coming off of the Straight Talk Express. Palin's interviews are a disaster - she keeps mangling her talking points. I believe the "suspension" gambit has a lot to do with "postponing" (read canceling) the VP debates. His choice of Governor Palin is what finally pushed me over the edge. As a former McCain supporter, I find this very sad, indeed. I'm left with no choice in this election because Senator McCain has shown himself to be unsuited for the role of President.

GOOD GRIEF! When will all of the McCain campaign crap stop falling. I am sick of it. Honestly, just get rid of them. Republicans need a pinch hitter, with his OWN VP choice. This is ridiculous. On top of all the lies, this latest McCain 'country first' trick! McCain places the country first when it is convenient. Now that Obama has been involved in helping the leaders in Washington get this crisis under control, up pops Johnny-come-lately McCain with a plan. GIVE ME A BREAK.

I hated the parsing that went on in the Clinton administration - such a distraction in running the country. Bush has taken that to whole other level - whether it is issue of WMD, torture, search for bin laden, economy, energy policy, so many blatant lies. Now, we get McCain who is creating so much baggage even before being elected; there is no way he could govern. Case closed.

On a serious note, what if any, activities other than lobbyising has this firm ever been hired by anybody to perform?

Despite suspension of accuracy, the veracity of the McCain campaign remains strong.

  • Posted By: Mtobias @ 09/25/2008 10:49:56 AM

How sad for McCain to be found out before the election.
He will just lie his way out of this Davis scandal, too.

    He suspended his camapign?
What about his CBS news interview inl lieu of Letterman and his Clinton Global Initiative appearances?

    What a scam.

  • Posted By: Carolyn48 @ 09/25/2008 10:43:43 AM

John McCain has destroyed his "maverick" image, and has made his talking point of "Country First" nothing more than a political ploy! He suspended his campaign to throw the spotlight off of Rick Davis and his ongoing payoffs from Freddie and Fannie. It is my belief that the McCain Campaign has attempted to divert attention to Davis and his $15,000 "allowance" ; but now that the FBI has launched its' fraud investigation
of Freddie/Fannie all hell has broken loose in the McCain/Palin camp.

  • Posted By: GregAugustaGA @ 09/25/2008 10:43:20 AM

Do Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson have any of the $100 Million plus left they scammed Fannie out of?

  • Posted By: Carolyn48 @ 09/25/2008 10:33:23 AM

The Republicans are in a mess waist-deep. Now that Rick Davis is BUSTED and the word is out that he was picking up a cool $15,000. a month until last month, not 2006, he has suddenly vanished from the landscape.
All of this on the heels of an investigation of fraud surrounding Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae by the FBI.

It's not the financial crisis that led McCain to perform his latest campaign stunt; it's this Davis scandal. :Maybe he thinks he can fool enough gullible voters to win the election by pretending to "suspend" his campaign.and trying to make it appear that his attempt to weasel his way out of the debates somehow shows leadership. Maybe he's right. One thing is sure: if this dishonest gimmick works, most of the media will praise McCain for his audacity and boldness.
