McCain didn't place the country first last week when we learned of the economic crisis. He didn't put politics aside last week when he nonsensically blamed Obama for the crisis. Now that the congressional committees are near a deal, he wants to go to Washington? He is not on any of the committees that are working on the bill. What is he going to do, dot the I's and cross the T's on the bill? If he cared so much, he would have been in Washington last week. He hasn't been in Washington since April. He knows nothing about the economy (straight from the horses mouth and exemplified in the mockery he made of himself last week). He "suspended his campaign", yet his cronies are all over cable news lauding this as an example of the "maverick leader" McCain is and he interviewed with Katie Couric last night and said "now is the time for action, not statements." All the while, he issued a joint statement with Obama.

McCain has exhausted his bag of gimmicks.

McCains announcement to abandon the first presidential debate has moved this Rick Davis/Freddie Mac revelation to fourth page news. These facts need to be repeated over and over again. They need to be recognized.

Medge: Another reason McCain was shifty eyed and nervous is that he underhandedly held his press conference immediately after he agreed to make a JOINT statement with Obama regarding a mutually agreed upon bipartisan effort to stand together and resolve this crisis. Obama initiated this effort. McCain clearly tried to deceive the American public into thinking this was all his idea.
    What a weasel.

    Debate On Hold=Democracy On Hold
Americans deserve to see this debate on schedule.

Seems to me we have put honesty, integrity and character on the back burner. why is that?
Is it because mccain /palin lack all of the above?
And obama has an abundance of each.
    the issues are:

palin is being investigated for abuse of power .

she and her husband have violated court ordered subpoena's

mccain is obstructing justice, by interfering in the investigation.

isn't this illegal? i am 100% certain if barak obama's vp had done the same, he would not be the nominee, would he?

they are not allowing reporters to ask unscripted questions.

they are denying reporters access to her foreign policy improv's.

is the mccain palin ticket above the law?

have they rewritten the rules as we watch?

are they setting in motion the new standard for the press in the mccain /palin regime?

    how far will they go?

    what is next ?
aren???t these the fundamental issues that raise the integrity question, the honesty question
    the character question
who governs the nation and how they govern
are critical to the well being of all america
    don???t you agree?
what we are witnessing -- mccain pulls out of the debates
thinking the world will wait for him.
no mr mccain the world will not wait for you!
    If you are not ready on day one {palin}
Or 3:00am {mccain} you will never be ready to govern
    this great country.
    the hypocrisy is astounding.

This latest trick by the McCain side is simply astounding! If what is at stake for this country was not so dire it might make for good comedy, but this country is at a crossroads and this is not funny! I am a republican, a female and I am greatly disturbed by this man, after he selected Palin my friends and I were stunned, and to think that people were so blind that they could agree to sell fake talking points is amazing to us! She is not qualified fo the job - end of story! It was a political move that did not put country first! His latest move convinces me that demential may be an issue that may be overlooked. His medical records need to be released in full and quickly! If he cannot multi task then he does not need to be running for this office. My friends and I know who we are voting for in November, and trust me it is not McCain, we simply cannot figure out who these people are polling. Disgusted republican who wants real change!

John McCain, caught in a lie about a lie about a lie. Too bad there wasn't this much investigative reporting done about the Keating 5 or maybe we wouldn't be in this situation. Michael isikoff--keep up the good work!!

And according to a report on Huffington Post, the McCain campaign is helping her run Alaska because she is too busy!!!!! Would it not be illegal to do that??? What policies or whatever could the McCain change and whatever else she says to do???? This is scary!!!!!

The great hero -- or "Hanoi Songbird," take your pick -- and the great reformer -- or Charles Keating's bag boy, take your pick -- has consistently proven himself to be devoid of any ethical grounding.

JOHN MacCAIN IS A COMPULSIVE "LIAR" !
THIS MAN CAN NOT EVEN IMPROVISE A SPEECH,HE HAS TO READ
    FROM A PAPER OR A TELE-PROMPTER.
HE IS TOO OLD AND MENTALLY "DISTRACTED";HAS A "IQ WORSE THAN GEORGE W: BUSH."

McCain oughtta just give it up. He has simply HANDED the Presidency over to Obama, and I couldn't thank him enough!

  • Posted By: kabe @ 09/25/2008 6:34:10 AM

Too many lies and twists of the truth into more lies. McCain and Palin constantly lie to the public. Only a fool can believe anything stated by the McCain Campaign in their speeches, commercials, etc. LIES, LIES, LIES, NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS.

  • Posted By: wwoody @ 09/25/2008 3:56:07 AM

Who in their right mind would suspend their own Presidential campaign? That was the last straw as far I???m concern. John McCain is not the same person of 2000, his behavior has changed, and to me he looks as if he is going through the early stages of ???DEMETIA???, he has been having to many ???Senior Moment???.
Something is burning in the kitchen, so let not wait until the house burn down before we investigate where the smoke is coming from.

Today as I heard McCain tell his intention of suspending his campaign to join his buddies in the White House to push for the $700 billion bailout of his Wall Street buddies failed business enterprises, he seemed nervous and shifty eyed. It appears that his lies are catching up with him. He could no longer sustain that the economy's fundamentals are strong. It was collapsing right under his nose. He could no longer maintain that his campaign manager Rick Davis is not affiliated with lobbyists, when the NYT, Newsweek and other periodicals were publishing that he in fact was receiving $l5 thousand a month as a lobbyist consultant from Freddie Mac while he was his campaigh manager, and before it went belly-up and had to be bailed out by the Federal government. together with the other 9 or 10 banks that also failed. It seems that when the corruption that has engulfed the Bush White House of which McCain is a dues paying member, burst out into the open for the whole nation to contemplate, all the culprits involved got scared that the taxpayer is going to scream bloody murder and will not accept responsibility for the debt of another bailout for the benefit of bankers and CEOs while the taxpayer can even make ends meet. They are affraid that the scare tactics will not work this time around. They are affraid that even their prententious somber faces will not be deceitful enough.
So, it is understandable why McCain is nervous. He could not sustain the facade that he had distanced himself from his boss and his political philosophy of more of the same. As he ran to his boss when he called, he could not keep the lie concealed any longer. Senator McCain knows that this is the end of the Republicanism for the next one hundred years, and he will be spending his last days in an old folks home and his Barracuda running mate will have to return to Alaska and drag her "first dude" along.

These are the lies, that we know about now, what about the K5 lies. McCain battleship is taking on water, the question is will the Captain go down with the ship.

I am an independant voter, I voted for Bill Clinton. I voted for George Bush. And now, there is no way I can vote for McCain. He frightens me. How can I trust a man who lies so easily. And if he dies in office, a woman as poorly educated, on every issue it seems, as Sarah Palin will become President? I am a woman and I don't care if a woman gets elected or not, what I care about is whether my beautiful country is in the right hands. Obama may be alot of things, but the man cares about the American People. I know what I will do in November.

  • Posted By: faithncountry @ 09/25/2008 1:29:28 AM

I've been a Republican my whole life (60+ years), and I now cannot trust or vote for John McCain. What a shame to our great nation.

  • Posted By: Mysticalsister @ 09/25/2008 1:09:53 AM

I hope the media is catching on to McCain. He's trying yet again to out-maneuver the press by "shutting down" his campaign. There are so many scandals breaking for McCain that he's hoping to throw the press off the scent. They better stay on him and the bubble he has around himself and Palin. It would be laughable if it wasn't so disturbing that he might end up president. Hard to believe, but given the way he's run his campaign, a McCain presidency would be worse than anything we've seen from Bush.

  • Posted By: Destiny1028 @ 09/25/2008 12:32:15 AM

More LIES and Deception form the Mc SAME campaign. McSAME do you think we are going to buy into your latest shenanigans(your attempt to cancel the debates)? We are NOT stupid. We already know what you are all about. And we're sending you back to Arizona and Sarah "Clueless" Palin back to Alaska.
