CAMPAIGN 2008

The Audacity Of Hip-Hop

Far from being politically alienated and bling-obsessed, the rap generation may be just months away from occupying the White House.

"Not all Democrats agree with Mr. Frank that such policies are off-limits to criticism. Last week Rep. Artur Davis of Alabama said in a statement: 'Like a lot of my Democratic colleagues I was too slow to appreciate the recklessness of Fannie and Freddie. I defended their efforts to encourage affordable homeownership, when in retrospect, I should have heeded the concerns raised by their regulator in 2004. Frankly, I wish my Democratic colleagues would admit when it comes to Fannie and Freddie, we were wrong.'

"Mr. Davis is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus."

    'Rank snobbery'

Camille Paglia, who supports Sen. Barack Obama, has nothing but scorn for the way the media has treated Sarah Palin.

"The mountain of rubbish poured out about Palin over the past month would rival Everest. What a disgrace for our jabbering army of liberal journalists and commentators, too many of whom behaved like snippy jackasses," Miss Paglia writes at www.salon.com.

"The bourgeois conventionalism and rank snobbery of these alleged humanitarians stank up the place. As for Palin's brutally edited interviews with Charlie Gibson and that viper, Katie Couric, don't we all know that the best bits ended up on the cutting-room floor? Something has gone seriously wrong with Democratic ideology, which seems to have become a candied set of holier-than-thou bromides attached like tutti-frutti to a quivering green Jell-O mold of adolescent sentimentality."

    The Antichrist!:
When George Soros failed to obtain the election of his candidate, John Kerry, in 2004, he brooded for a while, even said he might get out of politics altogether, but he just couldn???t stop himself. He has stated publicly that he wishes to burst the ???bubble of American supremacy,??? because he says our preeminence in the world is a detriment to global ???equilibrium.??? So far, he has failed, but he keeps on trying.

And Mr. Soros has made no secret either of the fact that he sees the shortest way to effect political shake-ups, what he terms ???regime changes,??? is through very difficult economic conditions.

America has not yet felt the full force of Soros style economic shock treatment. But others have.

Soros made his first billion in 1992 by shorting the British pound with leveraged billions in financial bets, and became known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He broke it on the backs of hard-working British citizens who immediately saw their homes severely devalued and their life savings cut drastically in comparative worth almost overnight.

When the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 threatened to spread globally, George Soros was right in the thick of it. Soros was accused by the Malaysian Prime Minister of causing the collapse with his monetary machinations, and he was branded in Thailand as an ???economic war criminal??? who ???sucks the blood from the people.??? Right in the middle of this crisis, Soros dashed off his book, The Crisis of Global Capitalism, which demanded a ???third way??? toward economic stability.

Wake up, America, before it is too late!!!!

George Soros is an Obama's pal. We demand investigation if the collapse was done in order to help obama. Soros is big on edge funds and has manipulated financial markets before. This is fishy. Obama and his pals are all cons who hate AMERICA and hate what America stands for!!!!!!!

Let's talk about ACORN voter fraud. Is that Hip-Hop too. No wonder Obama was already thinking about his second term. He has not released his original birth certificate, but he is already thinking of 2012. I demand that voters have ID and I am sure that this fraud tactics will open the door for a recount if McCain loses. The idea that one person can vote10 times and the idea of registering illegal imigrants, dogs and turkeys as legitimate voters, blew my mind. This is KGB political style!!!!!!

I love it. Hip Hop is in everything . If hip hop wasn't on the forefront they wouldn't have written this article. If is was only subjected the the "hood" then they (being the media) would ignore it. But it's not. You take one race that hasn't tried to slip a little hip hop into something of their own. Look at McDonalds commercials, coco puff cereal commercials. Hip Hop is evident in a lot of things. They use hip hop to sell products. Take a look around you ... haha fools . All of you arguing back and forth about hip hop being so negative, then tell me why your people (whichever race you may be) tries to incorporate into their own lives ? whether it's a tiny aspect or not... hip hop is everywhere and the media knows it, and thats why this article was written... now please someone... tell me I'm lying ..

    • Posted By: observer101 @ 10/06/2008 1:08:07 PM

Ha Ha fools?...What are you laughing about?..There isnt nothing oringinal about hip hop...Hip Hop takes other genres of music and remixes it and then drag some rhyming ima gonna killa youa words through it...Original my ass...EVERY one of todays hip hop songs has some other lyrics or tune from other songs they kyped...Ive yet to hear an original hip hop song that doesnt use nursery tunes or some sixties, seventies or eighties rock n roll genre to it....Sounds like there isnt any originality to hip hop anymore..Just biters out for a quick buck...To bad it works, til the next one hit wonder comes along.

I am a resident of Wyandotte county who uses public transporation from the Unified Government here and I would like to share some of the comments I have heard on a daily basis while riding on the buses.

Regardless of the message Barack Obama says he is sending to "THE AMERICAN PEOPLE" this is the message some of "HIS PEOPLE" are hearing. Each and every day, the following phrases are are being expressed very adamantly:

When we get one of our own in, the white man will know we're there
I know one thing, if Obama doesn't get in we'll tear this place up
The white man's gonna pay now huh?
Let this election go the wrong way and us brothers will be out in Johnson County messin up them f_____ white neighborhoods
Obamas gonna put ole whitey in his f_____ place once and for all
That white b____ they brought in is in trouble

I could go on and on but I think I have made my point. Anyone who thinks America is ready for this is short a few screws.

    • Posted By: swinston07 @ 09/30/2008 2:29:02 PM

ok, now you should report all of the racist white comments you've probably heard. Don't base this election on some few blacks you heard on the bus. they don't speak for all black people. And black people aren't the only ones upset about this election. I bet in white homes , it's a different story though huh ? White people are the picture of greatness when it comes to this election right ? They haven't said a single thing negative about Obama right?- Now that's a load of bullshit. Everyone has an opinion. It's just that you hear what you wanna hear about it .

      • Posted By: secandillo @ 09/30/2008 11:41:57 PM

You are a prime example of why people group us all together. Who said I am white! I rest my case.

        • Posted By: swinston07 @ 10/01/2008 2:44:27 PM

where in MY comment did I say that YOU are white ?? I simple stated that you see it from both angles. For all I know you're a simple minded loser ...
          rest your "case" on that

  • Posted By: observer101 @ 09/27/2008 6:21:33 PM

Comment: Artists?...Ha ha ha...Hip Hop is not art in the least...Its rhetoric, misleading info about todays black Americans...They flaunt money they cant count, treat women that wouldnt givem the time of day without said money like crap, and they flaunt guns that they can only kill innocent ppl with because they are to busy running for their lives to aim it. Ever see one of those fools on t.v. shooting?...They are busy flailing their arms around hiding behind cars or bounding around corners while firing..Their limp wrists barely control a .22 as it bucks wildly in their hand. A .22!...Acting all hardcore and showing off weapons they cant even aim or pronounce correctly is a joke....So calling "hip hop" art?..Might as well call Beethoven or Mozart a rapper.

    • Posted By: HipHopPoetry @ 09/30/2008 4:56:10 AM

well you fit your title, observer. That Hip-Hop is just one wing of the structure. There are rappers who do not get the credit and are poetic geniuses. Of course the media isn't gonna portray Hip-Hop as eloquently as they do to these heroin addicted rock stars. Hip-Hop has been an art form far from what the average person doesn't understand. I understand, but before you go ahead and bash on our culture, do some research and I promise you will have a different outlook on what I now consider your MTV definition of Hip-Hop.

      • Posted By: observer101 @ 10/01/2008 12:05:50 PM

Im not into rock, but Im sure they dont put smoking blunts, using *** an hos, kill the po lice and each other in their lyrics...If they (black communities) dont want ppl to assume thats how it is, then black communities shouldnt embrace it as 'their' music of their plights.

  • Posted By: jenjackson1976 @ 09/30/2008 12:38:43 PM

Hip hope does have an effect on young voters. There is a huge hip hop culture that is thriving in this country. I think it's good that they are standing up and saying something, whether it be in raps. or by wearing tshirts, there standing up, not because he is a Black nominee but because he is the RIGHT nominee . Did everyone forget that musicians did this last election too! Or could this wack ass story be just another biased bullshit ass attempt to bring race back into the focal point! As for the comment by B_Coke120, she should be ashamed of herself as a Black woman to say that kind of *** against her own people! Talking about "Blacks want to come out of the woodworks and make a difference, and should have been advocating change along time ago" Bitch wtf do you think all the BLACK leaders of the past did for your whiney ass! Ever heard of the Civil RIghts Movement!!! I guess you think they were just "whiney ass" blacks too! You need to check yourself, look in the *** mirror, and get a grip!!!!! As far as the comments below from secandillo, *** YOU BITCH! You are ignorant, why don't you put the comments you hear from all the white trash on your bus!!! This *** is disgusting! and as far as this article any half educated person can see it is CLEARLY BIASED by the way it is written even by the damn title, so if the readers want to just listen to anybodys approach they are only followers of some buuuuuulllll sheaaaatttt!

    • Posted By: B_Coke120 @ 10/01/2008 12:03:38 PM

Okay, jenjackson...I understand and know about the Civil Rights Movements but be honest with ourself. It takes a Black canidate to make more blacks want to vote? Come on, we should have been doing this a long time ago! I am thankful for those who have fought change. And another thing, I dont whine, I make change, I havent been begging for my forty acres and a mule, have been doing on my own, I dont need to be a stereotyped black. So look in the mirror and find out who you are. There is a difference between the people that whine and the people who make change...look it up. All the black civil rights activist actually did something, they didnt sit on their ass about it....

    • Posted By: secandillo @ 10/01/2008 1:19:22 AM

Thank you for proving my remarks. You sound just like those I referred to. You are the prime example why others see us the way they do! What an intelligent choice of descriptive words. Ane you were educated where?

Interesting; this article demonstrates the kind of subverted/implicit racism I expect McCain to start spreading in the last week of his campaign. I hope the Democrats are ready for this.

    • Posted By: observer101 @ 10/01/2008 11:59:56 AM

Im sure Obamas Dems are ready to play the poor little me act...Just as they did when they were fighting Hillary...McCain/Palin 08'

  • Posted By: PS Alaska @ 10/01/2008 12:25:55 AM

This is code for watch out for blacks! Racism is alive and well. Sad. The current President and the Republican nominee look like me and come from similar backgounds. The Republican Vice Presidential nominee is from my state. I don't want a President who looks like me, talks like me can sing the Alaska flag song and knows where Ketchikan is on a map. I want a competent, prinicpled leader who takes on the job with respect for its importance and doesn't make rash unthinking decisions. We have had that leader for 7 1/2 years and it doesn't work.

You know what I've been hearing and reading the same thing from Whites, except replace the word "Obama" w/McCain and replace "White(s)" w/"Blacks. Stop race-baiting, you hater(s).
