It takes him 45 seconds to"clear his throat" because he cannot think of an answer quickly enough. If Obama had any substantive ideas, he would be able to answer within a reasonable amount of time.

As an independent, NO PARTY has convinced me why they want to run this country; TNOGHT I WILL FIND OUT, THE 18% UNDECIDED ARE NOT LOOKING FOR ANTHING, BUT A WELL BALANCED PRESIDENT REGGARDLESS OF RACE, we are an advanced species of animals; judge on who's gonna help you and family in the long term, NOT SHOT TERM. Military and terrorism matters are not going to win you an election. It's also plain wrong to vote based on color, YOU ARE GONNA NEED SOMEBODY SOMEDAY IN YOUR LIFETIME....

My question is when do we get to tell the 50-60 million people that voted for the GOP, "I told you so"? When do the Dems get to say you voted against your economic interest because you wanted to be mean spirited, you wanted to believe that the Dems would favor the Blacks over you and that you didn't want to take a little time to research what the Wall Street/Social Conservative GOP really stood for?



The social conservatives made an unholy alliance and now they want to back out because the free market wing of the GOP has stuck it to them.

Comment: The only one that blew this up is Obama. Supposedly he was briefed about the Republican Congressional plan before the meeting, went in on the attack, destroyed any semblance of bi-partisanship, and then came out and blamed someone else. Impressive. He must not have had his teleprompter with him. No worries though, the liberal press will lie for him.

McCain is a leader, an independant and a maverick. Those popel who think they are liberals should be ashamed to criticize a man who puts his country first. If you have any doubts about anyone it is should be Obama, the man who has to prepare to give a "speech" that promises you things he cannot deliver. He spent his summer in Europe and Hawaii and did not want to debate McCain when asked 10 times. Obama is a fraud, and if you liberal losers don't get that, so are you

Senator Obama, better stay in Washington D.C. until there is resolution to the economic crisis. Hasn???t he ever heard of urgent needs? This shows a lack of leadership and managerial skills.
You know it???s kind of like voting present instead of taking a stand. Obama is so very afraid to make a meaningful commitment. It???s all rhetoric and psycho-babble with his hackneyed silver tongue smoothie style. Debates can come any time before the election. Senator Obama claims McCain needs to multitask and do the debates tonight. Doesn???t Obama realize the urgency of the economic crisis?
When you look between the lines however Obama is saying the hell with the economy and I???m afraid to sit in the economic negotiations and be held accountable for decisions made. Having the debate Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday would not make much of a difference as long as they still had the debates. The major inconvenience would be to the media and they deserve to be inconvenience.

Another Republican "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" moment; McBush screws up the bailout deal.

Shouldn't a president be able to multitask? The bailout meetings will be over early enough that both candidates would be able to hop a plane, get to Mississippi, have the debate, get back on the plane, Go back to Washington and...stand around doing nothing while the actual committees and caucuses finish hammering out a plan.
It amazes me that McCain is SOOOO happy to have Obama attend debates that overtly favor his strengths. Hmmm...a debate put on by evangelicals? I wonder which candidate that might favor? Will McCain attend a debate held by GLAD or Planned Parenthood? I don't think so. Obama hasn't accepted the ridiculous offer to attend town hall meeting because it's a MCCAIN strategy. And the last time I looked, McCain has failed twice to convince his own party he should be president.
And while we're on the subject...how EXACTLY does a real American hero like John Kerry get swift-boated because he actually FOUGHT the enemy? Meanwhile McCain, who FAILED in his mission, FAILED to properly eject from his plane because he wasn't been paying attention in training, then spent years in a Vietnamese prison heroically NOT dying convert himself into a hero?
John McCain says he knows how to win wars. Based on what? Vietnam? John, I know you missed most of that war, but we lost.
John McCain says he knows how to solve the economic crisis. I guess as part of the Keating Five, he should. He DOES know how to sell friends former government property for thousands of dollars that they then turn around and sell for millions. I'm pretty sure that's known as influence peddling. Google that and have yourself a good, informative read.
In the end, McCain will show up for the debate because the Razzle Dazzle effect of his ridiculous Wednesday announcement served it's purpose: to focus attention on McCain and away from Obama.
Bravo sir. Can't wait for 4 more years of leadership by crisis with no direction and no plan.

The old debate dodger had his bluff called and now he's running to the debate with his tail between his legs. He threw the dice and crapped out and now he's blinked like the coward he is. So funny that the national security / foreign policy debate will be upstaged by economic discussions. McCain will look like a moose caught in the headlights tonight when the topic strays to his worst subject, the economy.

We need the wise cool calm leadership of Obama, not the panicked high stakes riverboat gambler who can't keep his own promise. So funny he tried to ride to the rescue and ended up making matters worse.
