Funny how only leaders from Poland and the Baltics are interviewed in the US media, maybe because their ant-russian sentiments due to historical reasons can be exploited by America to build a front against Russia?
In the Baltic states the population consists of 20-40% ethic russians, many are not even granted residency or allowed to vote, even though they are born there. But as long as it is in US interest it is democratic.

Lech - you're dreaming. You need to learn how to live with your big neighbor next door and respect it. If Russia wanted to overthrow Misha, believe me, no arm-waving by Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia would have prevented it.

Obviously, Mr. Kaczynski is out of tough with reality when he says about "the lessons learned". First, the Russians did not need this war in order to establish control over South Ossetia and Abkhazia because they ALREADY had their forces on the ground. Georgia lost control of these territories 18 years ago. Secondly how exactly was the "attempt to topple (Georgian) government carried out"? Thirdly, how is "Ukraine being threatened"? These statements are about as valid as his Nazi analogy. I'd think that growing up in Poland one would learn a thing or two about the Nazi attrocities. How are they similar to today's Russia? At least he admits that the missile defense shield is, indeed, targeted at Russia. Finally!

What kind of leader is this Polish Gentleman? He knows those missiles are not against Russia or against Iran but he wants them to keep Americans there.Russians have been saying ,they will target the Poles first as they have to knock out those missiles. If he is really sane why would he expose his people in the line of fire.Is he not the man who is planting the seeds of conflict? His priority is his own people.Being a small man why does he become a pawn between big armies.People like this Pole is the problem for the world.

Why is he so eager about cutting his neighboring Vanias? As if they were dogs with rabies and he was a wise Shepard installed by the maker to spare good seed and cut the bad one.

The Polish President evidently sincerely beleves that if the Russians attacked Poland destroying the US anti-missile base in the process, the US would declare war on Russia. Sadly, it looks like the his advisers from his National Security Bureau have never enlightened him about the concept of "counter-force strategy", under which, the US, rather than launching a total war on Russia, would destroy a precisely equivalent base in Russia, following which both presidents would apologise one to another over the Hot Line for the unfortunate incident and promise they would do their utmost to prevent it re-occuring in the future. How striking that at the joint press conference with Tony Blair at Downing Street, he referred 13 times to Russia failing to notice that his host did not reciprocate even once. IT seems, no one dared to explain to him Blair's silence.

I like the humor by Lech Kaczynski. He says he stopped Russia. A dog barks, a caravan passes by.

Russia did not intend moving tanks into Tbilisi. Russia avoids places where it has too little support of local people.

Comment: < I'm rational and not anti-Russian. I've been aware of these dangerous tendencies for many years, from the late Yeltsin era. We have to convince Russia that the imperial era is over.>

i.e. Mr. Kaczynski refuse right of Russia for independent politic and assumes that Russia must be USA colony.

*** its crazy. Your statement is: only in the case, the Poland (and baltic countries + Ukraine) will be outer part of Russian, Russian won't be colony of USA.

Sorry waldek, but your description of Poland???s position remind old virgin, which is only dreaming to be raped by dirty, but strong macho(because nobody wants her, only old uncle Sam is her friend, which is always telling what to do). A lot of Russian people would prefer if Russia will not have any relations with Poland, economical or political. Nothing to buy, nothing to sell. If somebody wants to be between Russia and West ??? it will be not Poland.
Everybody can see results of Poland antirussian politics ??? Poland now is supplier of cheap labour to other countries and all polish economy is based on money, which polish emigrants are sending home.

Oh, please. I know its kind of popular to kick Russians with whatever after Georgian mess but that does not make Kaczynski smarter.

What imperialism are you talking about? With respect to Poland? The only imperialism threat you face is overreliance on US neo-conservatives. They are always there to take the gold medals but they usually hesitate to take responsibility when somethings goes wrong. It's always easier to blame Russians.

You, polacks, think too much about yourself. Still keep in mind the dream "the great empire from the sea to the sea"? He-he. Dream is over. Long ago. Face it: it's you the colony of USA. With Baltic countries, of course. Great company, isn't it? But that's a very diffucult situation now since USA doesn't have money to feed you anymore. And after 2012 EU will stop doing it as well. Soon after that you will start to look at your Nothern neighbour. But as I said, we don't need you. Enjoy your freedom! :-D

  • Posted By: Dent87 @ 09/28/2008 7:10:05 PM

Waldek, forget about Ukraine, alright? Ukraine has always been the part of Russia and pretty soon will be again. We don't need your Poland or Baltic countries, but we will get what's ours. You can take Galitchina, though, we don't need that %$^*&.

" - Didn ' t Georgia make a huge mistake attacking South Ossetia on Aug. 7?"
" - This mistake was provoked."

Nice logic.... Did those 6 millions of Jews died during WW2 just PROVOKE Hitler? Perhaps.... At least, according to the Polish president. Mind that lots of Death Camps were on the territory of Poland. It's not that simple, is it?
