    (Part II)

How can we have the first Black candidate to potentially become the President of the United States, and the first woman with high chances of becoming the vice-president of the same government, to embrace the fact that the great freedom and justice that we enjoy today in the United States as the result of the struggle of black and women movements for civil rights have provided this most fair and great opportunity, and meanwhile, to publicly declare a blunt ???No??? to the civil rights of other oppressed minorities of the United States of America, those people who whether by genetic factors or by choice have come to embrace the fact that they love and wish to marry a person of their same gender? I ask you something: ???Do all heterosexual marriages go into their legal union with the imminent or long-term intention of having children, of procreating? The answer is a blunt, but in this case fair, ???NO.??? Many heterosexual couples who seek marriage do not wish to have children at all. While other heterosexual marriages cannot even genetically procreate. So why the difference in denying legal rights to homosexual couples because they can???t essentially at present procreate? Is that justice and fairness? What is there natural about heterosexual couples going to a reproduction clinic to alter the genetic makeup they were born with in order to being able to have children in ways that are artificial in essence? What is there natural about taking medications made from unnatural chemicals and processes? And yet, those medications have improved the overall health and have extended the life expectancy of human beings, while at the same time quite often preventing the death of those experiencing life-threatening situations. So why does the world, but especially politicians in their ability to bring about true justice and equality of opportunity, publicly embrace some legal rights and deny others? Why do they refuse to balance justice when they live and are sometimes the products of unnatural lives or lifestyles while at the same time denying Gay people who love each other the publicly legal declaration and rights of their union because the majority of the people, who unfortunately are usually led by face-value make-believe rhetoric and appearances, hold the greater voting power? Are they in this process of legal elections then primarily for the attainment of office, regardless of the known violations of people???s rights. The sad reality is that these are well educated, intelligent individuals, who similar to many religious people who favor hypocrisy to maintain their social standing, violate that which they know is right, in order to attain or maintain their selfish materialistic desires, and unfortunately the precursors of the downfall of a fair and humane society.

But here is the problem, perhaps the attempts have been made, but I found none when I searched the Internet. I cannot find articles about gay people running for office in this presidential campaign. So why the furious claim from gay/lesbian organizations that their political leaders are committing injustice, when what would give us the greatest advantage would be to postulate and support ourselves a Gay Person for the U.S. Presidency. I am very naïve and fairly ignorant in what it takes to get to this level of a presidential campaign, but I am certain that we can fight much harder and wiser in attaining our goals for a better, most just and civilized society. It has been done in the past with ???David McReynolds, who ran as the nominee of the Socialist Party in 1980 and 2000- gaining approximately 5,000 votes in each election (1).??? However, to reach its destination a vehicle must keep running, and it is not for lack of good potential gay candidates that we must delay or weaken the momentum.

    (Part IV)
I see and read articles claiming that the majority of Americans surveyed or polled say that they would support or vote for a qualified Gay Candidate. I know that gay people have strong financial and social resources. So where is the problem? So I tell myself that I will run for Presidency of the United States and in doing so not only will the world see the justice of the first Gay Presidential Candidate, but will also in double-benefit attain one that is also Hispanic and foreign-born, a naturalized American Citizen, who nowadays does, speaks and even thinks primarily in the English language. But wait a minute! Then I realize, if I am not mistaken, a foreign-born American Citizen cannot run for the Presidency of the United States. So there I go again, looking for articles on the subject in the Internet. And thus, I come across an article titled ???Schwarzenegger: Let foreign-born seek White House.??? But then just a little into the article I come across the following statement: ???Schwarzenegger reaffirmed his opposition to the gay marriages that are taking place in San Francisco. He said Mayor Gavin Newsom's refusal to obey the state's law against same-sex marriages could set a bad precedent [2].??? However, before he had made that statement he also said: "There are so many people in this country that are now from overseas, that are immigrants, that are doing such a terrific job with their work, bringing businesses here, that there's no reason why not," said Schwarzenegger, who became a U.S. citizen in 1983. "Look at the kind of contribution that people like Henry Kissinger have made, Madeleine Albright," he said, referring to two former secretaries of state who were born in Europe [2].??? And there is the great hypocrisy of seeking fairness for some, and denying the legal rights of others. It is a researched fact that marriages improve the propensity of human beings to being less promiscuous and thus to contribute to the betterment of the overall health of society. So why deny gay (and when I say ???gay??? I always project also the term for ???lesbian???) people the opportunity to have such a just legal standing. To me a marriage certificate is nothing more than a paper, because true loyalty to somebody or something cannot be written on paper, but it does provide for many legal protections that living in an imperfect and generally unfairly biased world necessitates. And in doing so more gay teenage individuals prone to much instability in their love affairs would seek to settle down in a faithful family life style with the person of their preference. That is something that intelligent heterosexual individuals accept in the comfort of their private lives, but which they selfishly deny in public.

    (Part V)

So I thought, my life has been very unstable, with a chaotic academic history and the victim of injustices that the world cannot possibly conceive regardless of how rationally one may wish to convey such experiences to them. And I say to myself, well, if I want action I need to be the action, and if I cannot make a choice for voting because both candidates are essentially social criminals, then I must act upon the fabric of justice and create for myself the moral and ethical models that could potentially change the true appeal of fairness, and which would therefore provide for a candidate worthy of my vote, assuming that his/her overall agenda was equally embracing of human and social rights in other areas. So I momentarily decide to double major in Political Science or International Relations, and give my current classes in Criminal Justice a second chance, and then I realize that before I can run for presidency as a Gay man, I need to amend the Constitution to a higher standard of justice by permitting foreign-born U.S. Citizens to run for the North American Presidency.

    (Part VI)

I am a veteran of the United States Military. I was there waiting in Kuwait, eating dust along with the food in my MRE, sometimes not feeling the skin on my fingers because the dust and the cold were making numb the skin lacking regular showers; there was I running around the camp looking after the welfare of all personnel, driving the Ambulance to Camp Doha to do some final orders for eyeglasses for the better visual acuity of the troops. I then went to Iraq, went through the war and came back home, determined to either bringing justice to my military career which I had plan to extend, or to otherwise leave for good. But regardless of how much one sometimes tries to help the world to see, they remain under a veil of selfishness and untrue appearances. Most are afraid to be who they are. Most are afraid to do the right thing, because to do so would mean a harsh existence. I know. I am living proof of such rationalizations. Sometimes at the hypocrite side, but mainly on the sit of the victimized. So I am a good enough legal Resident of the United States Government or foreign-born U.S. Citizen to go to war on behalf of defending the rhetoric of this country, to put my life on the line for the so called American Freedoms and Justice by now inherent in the Constitution, but I am not good enough to run for Presidency, but some who have never come across the horrors of war and the foreign conflicts of bringing about the formulations of the White House to the mere bottom, can freely and legally enjoy the opportunity to lead. I believe that an individual does not necessarily have to live the life of another to being able to properly empathize with that person, and cannot practically do so, however, the Bible also mentions, why should you be telling me to take out the little something that I have in my eye, when you yourself have a big thing in yours that is rendering you more blind. But my hope is that we as human beings can learn to be empathic enough to learn from our mistakes and to embrace the rights and dignity of all human lives, foreign and domestic, regardless of what our personal ambitions may be.

Judges 6:15 says (with minor variations in translation): ???And he said unto him, ???O Lord, how shall I save Israel? Behold, my thousand is the smallest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father???s house.??? Now if you read it in Spanish you may come across my last name. And if you read the whole Bible you may find my other names, in 2 Chronicles 4:36, in Luke chapter 3.

I want a world of Justice led by the U.S.A. I want a New Order for the World where the leaders not only claim support for the human rights and civil liberties of their own good causes, but also support those of other just causes, instead of opposing other fair causes either due to ignorance or a selfish-seeking to secure a position in office.

I wish to see a Foreign-Born, Gay American President. I am a visionary who brings his dreams into action, and if shall politics deny me my legal human right to lead, I will be just as happy to instill the seed of passion and thirst into the younger generations to never being afraid of anyone or anything in the pursue of Justice, Fairness, and Social Equality with the emancipation of Human Rights and Dignity and the fundamental embracing of Mercy, Compassion and Love. And to always understand that without Forgiveness we can only move backwards. Yes, I see the United States with a highly amended Constitution that has aptly adapted to a changing more civilized world. Or else, I see a United States of America with a brand new Constitution, whether out of inevitable unwanted chaos and loss, or preferably out of the fabric of the contributions of peaceful co-existence to the betterment of the human race.

What a ridiculous waste of time this article was. My son's living in college dorms, hours away from his designated polling place. So he's voting by mail. I'm a single mom with two kids still at home and a stressful full time job. To appease George Will's antiquated perspective I'm supposed to feel guilty for utilizing vote by mail rather than standing in line for god knows how long when I have a perfectly acceptable alternative? Oh yeah, my slothful kida nd I just want to sit on the couch all day and eat bonbons. Yeesh.

Once again Mr. Will writes about the present from his unique 50's viewpoint. A quaint, mIldly interesting article, but nothing to waste serious thought on.

What?! We???ve made voting easier for the unwashed masses?! Scandalous! Next they???ll be demanding respect and equal rights. How will we ever keep the peasants down if we keep treating them like human beings? I for one won???t stand for it.

What about people in rural areas making long drives to a polling place -- with these gas prices?
What about people in hospitals and nursing homes who may not even be able to make the trip?
What about people in travelling jobs: salesmen, business travellers, long distance truck drivers?
    What about armed service personnel?
MY first thoughts about early voting is that this is a real effort to support these enfrancised people.
When there are impediments to the voting process, provide solutions. This is American know how.
How much does this really affect a campaign that has been going on for some eighteen months?
Thankfully, Mr. Will gets only one vote like any other citizen -- and it surely isn't mine.
Second thought: there is far more of civic responsibility here than sloth.

Thank you, Mr. Will. You have helped me clarify this issue in my mind.

Biden voted in 1999 for deregulation that liberal groups are blaming for part of the financial crisis. The law allowed Wall Street investment banks to create the kind of mortgage-related securities at the core of the problem now.

Biden Said McCain supports tax breaks for oil companies, and "wants to give them another $4 billion tax cut."

Biden is repeating a favorite saw of the Obama campaign, and it's misleading. McCain supports a cut in income taxes for all corporations, and doesn't single out any one industry for that benefit.

During the debate, Biden said, "Oh, on clean coal. My record, just take a look at the record! My record for 25 years has supported clean coal technology.???.... However, during an early campaign stop once he was announced as VP Candidate, Biden said, "No coal plants here in America. If they???re going to build them, over there [China]. Make them clean. We???re not supporting clean coal.???. One of the most upsetting lines last night in the debate was Biden's attempt to say that he didn't know he was voting on a War resolution? I'm sorry but someone who has been in the Senate since Nixon didn't know he was voting on a War resolution when he voted on the Iraq War! Let me ask you people does he think we are stupid? Or is he just stupid? Either way if a seasoned senator doesn't know when he's voting on a war resolution we have bigger problems in Washington then we know! And we certainly do not need a VP like that sitting with an inexperienced president! If you think things are unstable now wait and see what will happen if God Forbid Obama and Biden get to the White House??? Sarah Palin did great last night. She was able to manipulate the debate by bringing the talking points back to the issues that she wanted to talk about to the American people! McCain / Palin will be a breath of fresh air for this country and will make a great president and vice president. The age of Obama will end November 4th

I am neither "barely interested" nor "barely informed." I am hardly "slothful." I am young and agile, have no need to be out of town, and even have a polling place just down the street. I don't have a single pressing thing to do on November 4th. I will be voting early anyway, Mr. Will, for one reason only: if an errant bus or lightning bolt should strike me between now and Election Day, I want to go out knowing I did all I could to keep that old man and his puppy from making decisions for my friends and family after I'm gone.

PHILADELPHIA VOTERS SCAM TO KEEP VOTERS FROM THE POLLS

    By CATHERINE LUCEY
    Philadelphia Daily News

    luceyc@phillynews.com 215-854-4172

With just weeks to go before the presidential election, voter intimidation has reared its ugly head.

An anonymous flier circulating in African-American neighborhoods in North and West Philadelphia states that voters who are facing outstanding arrest warrants or who have unpaid traffic tickets may be arrested at the polls on Election Day.

Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Everett Gillison, who learned of the flier last week, said that the message is completely false.

"The only thing that police officers are going to do that we'll be encouraging that day is that they'll be exercising their own individual right to vote," Gillison said. He plans to put up statements on the city and police Web sites to let citizens know that the handouts are false. He said that he also will record a public-service announcement for broadcast. Gillison referred the matter to the U.S. Attorney's Office and the district attorney.

"We are not going to stand for any intimidation of voters," Gillison said. "Not in this city."

He said that he did not know who was behind the fliers, which appear to be targeted at supporters of Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

But telling people to beware of voting if they have outstanding warrants is an old trick. In Maryland's 2002 gubernatorial election, anonymous fliers in African-American communities warned people to pay parking tickets and resolve outstanding warrants before heading to the polls.

"It seems to be clearly aimed at lower-income voters that might have had some problems in the past and clearly aimed at discouraging people from voting," said Zack Stalberg, who heads the political-watchdog group Committee of Seventy. Stalberg said that he feared that there could be more fliers to come.

"I'm a little surprised it appeared this far before Election Day," he said. "It's another indication of how dirty this election might become."

Local NAACP President Jerry Mondesire said that he was aware of the flier and would be watching for other intimidation efforts, but would wait until closer to Election Day to reach out to the public. "We probably will do something closer to the election," he said. "People tend not to pay attention until two weeks out."

Mondesire said that he didn't know who was circulating the fliers, but added, "I do know one thing for sure: They're not Democrats."
