Who are you kidding? How about 3:00Am call Obama that is the real joke?????.

That's pretty funny. But when the phone rings for Sarah Palin at 3 am, will Karl Rove be there to lead her to the phone?
McCain's selection of a running mate has demonstrated not only a lack of judgment but a lack of integrity on his part. He has shown an increasing sense of desperation as he resorts to deliberate misstatements and engages in political opportunism in an attempt to win election at any cost. Ms. Palin's performance was an embarassment and her reappearance with McCain in a follow-up interview with Katie Couric was pathetic. Thank you Fareed for having the courage to state the truth knowing you will receive the inevitable false accusations of sexism - as a woman with a law degree and a Mensa I.Q. I can assure anyone that the only sexist is John McCain who apparently thinks women are so stupid and sexist that they will support an unqualified candidate on the basis of gender.
It''s very telling that the McCain/Palin campaign is blaming "gotcha" journalism for how ridiculous :Palin looks this week. As if none of the blame were their own! She sounded pathetically simple - particularly bad, considering she actually is the governor of Alaska. Most college students who have taken Econ 101 could speak plainer. Here's some news for Sarah Palin - it gets harder from here, not easier. If they're whining now, give it time. She can't take the heat.
I was utterly embarrassed when I watched Palin's interview with Katie Couric. She seemed totally unprepared, unqualified, and uncomfortable throughout the entire interview. With our country facing such touch problems ahead, I am terrified to think what will happen if McCain is elected, and Palin is the VP of our country.
I just watched SNL's version of the Katie Couric interview with Sarah Palin and was laughing at Palin's (Tina Fey's) response to the $700 billion bailout question. After reading this article I discovered that Tina's lines were not the result of the talented writers at SNL but were Palin's ACTUAL words in response to Katie's question! Is anyone else scared??
It's nice to see the media finally taking Pailn to task on her lack of qualifications AND by extension McCain's judgment. What the hell was he thinking?!
I want to know why some individuals think reporting exactly what Gov. Palin said is not news. The woman spoke nonsense and is the running mate for the second highest seat in government. This is not liberal nor conservative. It is called journalism. When you do not like the facts - you simply cannot point names and say - LIBERAL (or vice versa) - not when FACTS (i.e. irrefutable evidence) is in place. To do so makes one look 1uite foolish.
I can see Alaska from my front porch (since I live along the Yukon Rv) and let me tell you-the view from here is scary and apparent. You all need to roundly send our "pitbull politician" back home. On Nov. 4th. We don't have the votes that you all do Outside. We need our Governor back home to face the music and answer our questions about abuse of power (Troopergate), undue influence in past election concerning Proposition 4 (re:Pebble Mine), Emailgate-how she does not have a transparent administration and has folks she appointed refusing to answer supoenas given by unanimous bi-partisan Alaska Legislative Judiciary Committee. Believe me, we Alaskans have learned more than we ever wanted to know about the workings of Sarah's mind since McSame thought he was plucking his surprise weapon out of the northern tundra. She doesn't enjoy 80% positive polls here now. She got into office on the F.B.I. coattails seperating herself from various dirty Republicans. With these high gas prices, that benefits state coffers from oil company taxes and who wouldn't be popular? Many now know her differently (adn.com)-don't repeat our mistake for so many reasons. She is a daughter of the North and shoulda stayed here. Forget Foreign Travel/passport-before she became Governor, I wouldn't be surprised if the only part of USA she visited was Hawaii, Idaho and Alaska. Check it Out! McCain really flopped on this fishy choice. He had many better choices.
You can't live in AK. without running into rifle shooting, Hockey mamas, woodsy-physically active gals who know how to put on make-up and heels when needed. Jeez-Vote Issues and what's best in your life and neighbor's -not the guy across the grass in the McSame Mansion (McCain corporate interests).Obama/Biden are light years ahead-be practical and don't repeat the last eight years of madness.
I agree completely. As a former Alaskan, I know Palin is not ready for the national stage. The thought of her being literally a heartbeat away from the presidency if they actually got into office is truly frightening. She would she set women back decades, Her being on the ticket is not a positive for women. There are so many bright successful women in these states, I will never understand how McCain made this choice. I have no choice now but to believe his judgment is truly suspect after this decision. I can accept women that have differing views than I do, what I cannot accept is the obvious lack of knowledge about the most important issues on the national agenda, demonstrating very few on her thoughts have been on a national level. I have no plans to run for office but I know more about everything she has been asked than she does. I don't support her but I still find myself silently willing her to sound half way intelligent when she answers questions in an interview. As a woman, I find it embarrassing when she disappoints. As a candidate, she doesn't hold a candle to Joe Biden. His mouth may occasionally get ahead of his brain, but he is very good on foreign policy, personally has met many of the foreign heads of state, has traveled to most of them and is strong enough to say anything that needs to be said. I have no doubt in his ability to become the president if the need arose. I cannot say the same about Palin. After Friday night???s performance, McCain demonstrated he does not have the temperament for the office. I thought he was going to have a stroke at the debate, he stayed mad so much of it. Obama stayed steady, McCain was uncomfortable. Can't wait to see what Thursday night will bring.
I suggest you post something that we really want to read, something that has more merit. Maybe you should resign; really, your writing skills are something to be desired. now I have a message for U LIBERAL FREEKS .......... Report the news, grow some integrity, (if thats possible for a liberal) and actually let us know something we want to hear. oh and by the way ..... I suppose Obama/Biden will do better if they inherit this mess? LOL Obabble will keep repeating his 100 word vocabulary, and Biden will need his dimentia pills to remember which century he lives in. yeah ........... U liberals really have it goin on. Keep it up
For the past eight years, we all had lots of fun listening to W, but the downside is that it's difficult for a leader to inspire people when he has trouble with basic grammar. Now it's Palin, and the joke is wearing thin. Maybe it's time to stop electing people who can't speak English.
Hey faitau99, have you ever heard of something called an editorial? If you haven't, these are articles where the writer is SUPPOSED to give his opinion. This is one of those. Also if you want to hear editorial all the time, I suggest you watch Fox News.

Republicans have trademarked the strategy of claiming all media is biased. Kill the messenger, they say. Unfortunately for the Republicans, the media, in all its persuasions, is one of the cornerstones of a functioning democracy. A Conservative congress and president would do all in their power to diminish the scope of media in this country. An action that seems closer to the philosophy of our sworn enemies the muslim extremists and religious governments in the middle east. Beware the tendency to become your enemy. We have already seen this step in the torture and wrongful imprisonment of indiviuduals in clandestine prisons around the world by our government.
Wow...She is totally clueless and this is abundantly obvious. What is even more shocking is a man of McCain's Caliber would pick her as running mate. I think that shows he is after all not a vert smart man and makes very poor choices ( including that stunt of heading back to Washington to answer the 700 Billion dollar question...that was a joke). This Lady has negative IQ and we certainly can not take a chance with her.
Zakaria is spot on; how can McCain talk about 'country first' and security, the threat of terrorism etc., etc. and then pick Palin? Absurd. Can anyone explain to me why America is safer with Sarah Palin a heartbeat away from the office of commander-in-chief? Shame on you McCain; if you win you will put the future security of the country at risk for the sake of your own political ambitions. And while every democrat in the land is looking forward to see Biden give Palin a trouncing on Thursday night, has anyone considered the national embarrassment we will suffer once she starts talking? This debate will be viewed around the English-speaking and non-English speaking world by people who increasingly refuse to take us seriously.
Unbelievable. Some of the comments on this board supporting Palin are scary. To think that there are people in our country who are so fanatical to rave about how "qualified" this candidate is - this is a serious problem for the US. Can they be so blind? There is no reason to compare her to the Dem nominee. He's not the topic of this article. The focus is on her ability to understand global issues and foreign policy. Seems like there's a lot of racism out there. McCain has gone off the deep end and is now too erratic to be trusted with this country.
This guy Zakaria? Please. I hope you don't consider this journalism, I wonder if this article is being text messaged to Obama supporters like the debate text that promoted CNN from the Obama campain!! CNN you should change your name to ONN from Clinton News Network to Obama News Network!!! I am really getting sick of bias news that simply promotes personal views, just report the FACTS in a fair way and let the people decide where their OWN opinions lie, it might help your ratings......
I would agree that she hasn't always come off well, HOWEVER - she has been hit with much harder questions than Obama or Biden have been by the press. No one in the press has questioned Obama on his urging BOTH Russian and Georgia to 'take it easy'. I can imagine him saying the same thing to Poland in 1940. Or his solution of having the UN Security Council arbitrate, not even considering the fact that Russia has veto power there. Or his comments on inflating our tires to solve the gas crisis. Or Biden's gaffe about President Roosevelt getting on the television in 1929 - something the press did not bother to report. When the press hits Obama and Biden equally as hard, I will then consider Palin in the same light. Until the press does that, let's give her some slack.
why should biden even consider taking it easy on palin to pander to the foolish desires of radical feminists? my wife is a feminist, so of course I am too, and we both know that that wasn't an issue with hillary during debates. if she can't take the heat in the kitchen then she needs to stay out of the whitehouse! -evan f.
Someone, please send Palin back to Alaska where her major concern will be how to spend her treasury surplus generated by selling Alaskan oil at more and more inflated prices. Do it now before we all suffer the embarrassment of watching her torn to pieces in her upcoming debate with Bidon. Palin has no answers in this campaign, and she certainly has no answers for the Oval Office, Next to his own frail age, Palin is McCain's worst liability.
