With the exception of all of the experts that read and comment on this site, Palin is more like the average American than any other candidate. If change is what is needed, then we need the furthest thing from a typical politician as possible. Palin is not the typical politican. And since when was the president and vice president responsible for knowing every single point on every topic? What are advisors and cabinet members for?

I don't think she is much like an average American. Average Americans are not compulsive liars. Now average Republicans....maybe.

Kathleen Parker, an early supporter of Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin, said Friday recent interviews have shown the Alaska governor is "out of her league" and should leave the GOP presidential ticket for the good of the party leave the GOP presidential ticket for the good of the party. What do you think this is? American Idol? Some "fake" reality show that we turn off in an hour? This is serious stuff. I don't give a hoot how much you feel Palin is just like you; she is not good enough. Here's the worst thing: either she knows she is lacking and she doesn't care and just wants the job no matter how detrimental she is to this country, or she is too stupid to realize she doesn't measure up. Which is it??

The homeless guy down the street represents even more of a change! Please, do not pretend that you do not understand. We want change, of course. But, for the better! Not just for change. We want change in policies, not just in personalities. If you tuned in the debate yesterday, what did you hear from McCain? He advocated exactly the same policies as Bush. He just promises that he will do it better. No, thanks!

One doesn't need to be a rocket-scientist to be Vice President, just not a complete babbling moron. We have already had 8 years with a 'regular guy'. Please let's try to elect someone with a few more brain cells. They don't have to be Mensa quality. Just a few more brain cells, is that so much to ask?

    If John McCain Were President...

Based upon statements made by John McCain in the Presidential debate last night, some people in the country and the world believe these 2 things are official:

    1. The United States' military was "defeated" by the Viet Cong, although the U.S. has never signed an "Instrument of Surrender" as was signed by the Japanese aboard the USS Missouri in 1945.

    2. The United States tortures prisoners, although the U.S. does not "officially" condone torture.

During the Viet Nam War, the Viet Cong tortured U.S. Prisoners of War into espousing this sort of propaganda.

For a Republican candidate for the Presidency of the United States to repeat such propaganda today is, at a minimum, irresponsible.

Regrettably, John McCain compromised his character a longtime ago.

One should be cautioned that preferring to believe what is pleasant rather than what is true, and becoming very angry with anyone who destroys an agreeable delusion subjects those believers to the incessant consequences of such belief.

And don't give the BS that Couric was hard on her. If you saw the debates last night, Couric's questions were easier than the ones that both McCain and Obama were given. So if you think Couric was hard, what is she going to do when she has her face-off with Biden? Case closed.

All the wealth ( well not so much now), all the military might and who represents you, Bush and Palin!! I saw Palin's interview with Couric and I couldn't stop laughing! No one has anything against women or country folks or their way of life. Its about what kind of leaders represent the country.
Keep in mind, what these people decide will affect your child's future. If John McCain can make a blunder like choosing Palin for the VP's post you have something to worry about. Good luck with your vote and yes you will get the leaders you deserve.

what do you expect her to do with journalists such as yourself writing CRAP and drivel about everyone...you should be embarassed to get paid for your propagnda - oh wait - calling you a journalist means you actually have to do investigative work - kinda of like trying to make people believe a community organizer has actual responsibilities...and by the way Palin is a Governor and you are - ZERO....enough said

well maybe not - lets look at Obama's voting record - oh wait he doesnt't have one which means he is defrauding the constituency he is elected to represent - I am sure THEY have an opinion - no votes MEANS no leadership - try that for your next article - or will it be too much work for you to investigate something?

or wait - better yet - investigate Obama's nice little earmark in our bail out plan for ACORN to the tune of $100,000,000.00 and who is ACORN - a mob for hire? Investigate that or does that mean you have to get out of your chair - you should be embarassed for trying to insult our intelligence...

These two video clips clearly showed that all these well-qualified & in the league democrat senators or congressmen/congresswomen were so SMART to say that there were no foreseen problems with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2004 and again in 2006? Senator Dodd now again adds the ACORN share as a condition of the bail-out plan, truly SMART & IN THE LEAGUE of the???
Okay, so why exactly is Sarah Palin not qualified?
Let???s see now???city councilwoman for 2 years; mayor for 6 years and president of Alaska Conference of Mayors; Chair of Alaska Conservation Commission; appointed Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from which she soon resigned in order to expose corruption among members of her own party; 1.8 years of governor of Alaska during which time she has replaced the entire Board of Agriculture and Conservation because of conflict of interest, passed a landmark ethics reform bill, used her veto power to cut budgetary spending - vetoed about a third or more of the capital budget; C-in-C of the Alaskan National Guard; negotiated a pipeline contract with a foreign power; even vetoed a bill prohibiting official gay unions because the judiciary had ruled that banning it was unconstitutional. Her economic philosophy ??? Fiscally speaking, the private sector can do a better job than government can do.??? ???I also just trust individuals to make wise decisions for themselves and families. I have a lot of trust in individuals. I don't trust government nearly as much." A true disciple of Adam Smith!
Gosh???how can this ever stack up against the impressive resume Obama has acquired over the years?
Let???s see now???Saul Alinsky-inspired ???community organizer??? who worked closely with the demonstrably corrupt ACORN group; questionable ties to the corrupt Daley political machine and unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers; 20 year-long membership in the church of an America-hating racist; shady real estate transaction with a convicted felon; got elected state senator in 1996 by using technicalities to clear the ballot of opponents; served in the part-time state senator job for 7 years, voting ???present??? over 140 times; U.S. senator since 2004 after his opponent dropped out of the race; since 2006 has been actively campaigning for the presidency of the U.S. Impressive indeed! By the way recent news alert:
???The Barack Obama campaign is asking Missouri law enforcement to target anyone who lies or runs a misleading TV ad during the presidential campaign.???
???Obama campaign has issued a decree banning all signs at a rally today at the University of Mary Washington in Virginia.???
Sound like a Marxist tactic, is Obama & Co. starting a culture revolution in the US?

Air traffic control is a federal issue, not a state issue. Unless an incident involves the Alaskan air national guard the good governor has no point. By the way, I am sure that if she had been aware of any military maneuvering of the Russians she would have mentioned it in the interview.

First we'll compare the two Vice-Presidential candidates. Senator Biden regardless of what the Neo-Con smears say Has many years of experience on foreign matters. Biden has been a member or chair of the Foreign Relations Committee since 1997. He was a key player on the Bosnian question. He also serves on the Judiciary Committee. Senator Biden is currently the Chairman of both the Senate Foreign Relations Committee /Versus/ Palin zero-Nada-Nil-Nope on all National issues except her personal position on "the right to life" And yes on a clear day you can see the shores of Russia from pats of Alaska or you can stand in Alaska and pee in Canada. Now we'll compare the two Presidential candidates. Senator Obama, Committee on Foreign Relations, Committee on Veterans Affairs, Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and the committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs versus McCain committee on armed services (nothing to do with foreign policy). Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation (high gas prices and low business expectations) and the Committee on Indian affairs (Can they have gambling joints or not?). (Not the Indians of Asia just the American Indians).

Please stop posting the same nonsensical post over and over.

Of course Mrs. Palin is going to have considerably less foreign affairs knowledge than Senator Biden. Senators are FEDERAL officials, whose concerns are naturally more focused on international matters than would be the case for a Governor, who is a STATE official!

So if we have a Governor and a Senator running agaisnt each other, we have to ask whether there are other experience considerations, such as Executive vs. Legislative, that might be equally if not more relevant.

Actually there ARE considerations that are even more important than any "experience" issues. Since the contestants are running for AMERICAN office, and not some UN position, it is their positions on DOMESTIC issues which ought to be of paramount importance.

But I submit that the least relevant consideration of all is how glibly they talk, and the most relevant is their moral character - and on these scores the Obama/Biden ticket is a faint ember compared to the blazing sun that is McCain/Palin.

    • Posted By: Character Counts @ 09/27/2008 11:42:57 PM

McCain/Palin are a ???blazing sun???? You left out the most basic requirement, which should be a high level of intelligence. I want national leaders who demonstrate an ability to think critically. America should not settle for less. Sarah Palin has demonstrated a distinct lack in this area. In addition she has misrepresented her qualifications for high office and her record as Governor of Alaska. So much for a ???blazing sun.???

I repectfully disagree. I'd much rather have a grammatically challenged person of integrity, than a smart charlatan.

Despite years and mountains of evidence to the contrary, indictments, and flat-out admissions by the White House that what they told us about Iraq, Sadaam, WMD, and Al-Quaeda was all a crock of shiite, about 30% of the US population continues to believe that Sadaam Hussein was behind 911. When the collective IQ of nearly a third of the voting populace is lower than Chimp Nimsky's, your statements are not surprising. Sad, but not surprising.

And speaking of chimps, here's an anagram for you in the spirit of what is good for the goose is good for the gander:

You can put lipstick on a hockey mom, but she's still a pig.

Pompous Black in a chic topsuit? The guy's still a monkey!

Kathleen Parker, an early supporter of Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin, said Friday recent interviews have shown the Alaska governor is "out of her league" and should leave the GOP presidential ticket for the good of the party leave the GOP presidential ticket for the good of the party. Parker's comments follow those by prominent conservatives David Brooks, George Will, and David Frum who have all publicly questioned Palin's readiness to be vice president.

And the above list of conservative commentators are some of the most prominent on the right side of the spectrum. Considering the facts and the commentary of these well respected journalists posting what they did, can you still look someone in eye, knowing that Palin could become POTUS, and say without hesitation, or trepidation that she is ready right now to lead our country after seeing Couric's interview with Palin?

Shut up already you slimy journalist; millions of Americans are sick and tired of you. You are worse than the communist press. All you do is have love feasts with Obama and criticize the other party's candidates. We have really had it with the American press and media. Perhaps millions and millions of Americans should cease buying your papers and magazines. I know I will. Your are hateful. If the heavens opened up and the Good Lord proclaimed that you liberal radical idiots were wrong, you woulld write an article "GOD DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT'. You in the press have become slime.

'Christian' means 'Little Christ'. 'Love your enemies as you love yourself', 'Turn the other cheek' -- these radical commandments by a radical prophet Jesus Christ are almost never acknowledged by his followers (except for Quakers). Why don't you guys just call yourselves MAR-TIANS ('Little Mars' as in the Roman god of war). Then you can dream about brutalizing, torturing, bombing, and murdering as many people as you want without being inconsistent.

    • Posted By: 217217 @ 09/27/2008 11:34:32 PM

You sound more hateful than anyone in the entire campaign, including the pitbull wearing lipstick. And you call yourself a Christian? Shame on you! But I guess since you seem to clearly be a republican, it comes as no surprise you are a hypocrite. Fareed simply pointed out the sad, painful, and OBVIOUS truth. Sarah Palin is not only stupid but insane to think that anyone with the common sense God gave them would believe her bull***t!
Love, how do you even make it through a day being so stupid?

Calm down, stress can harm you. Have you actually ever purchased a newspaper, or magazine?

Obama is Ready? Please. (oh yeah, and he is running for PRESIDENT, not VICE-President)

The truly frightening thing is that there's any debate whatsoever that Gov. Palin is a cosmic embarrassment as a national figure. Her selection as a running mate by John McCain is the most cynical insult to voting Americans since Dick Cheney chose himself to be George Bush's Veep.

    • Posted By: AllKnowinOrb @ 09/28/2008 12:17:09 AM

Your comment was DEAD-ON! I can just picture Dick moments after getting the job of finding a V.P. , diving face-first, sticky, fat fingers outstretched, into the Public Trough, screaming "GIMME!"

  • Posted By: moniqueO @ 09/27/2008 5:16:01 PM

Well, face it. You are a partisan hack and it really does not matter what the Socialist Lefties have to say about ANYTHING.
Snobby small minded elitist leftist idiots like you always lie and make up stories to benefit their "Messiah / Chosen One". It is a pattern and most smart people have figured out that the MSM are in the tank for Barry O. You just wasted how much time telling us who you are voting for?

Sounds more like you are upset that our VP pick is better then you Pres pick!
Now go do a little investigating into Barrys corrupt RADICAL past! Oh, that kind of stuff is ok with Liberals. I forgot!

    • Posted By: geisler @ 09/27/2008 5:51:20 PM

your language describing obama was funny and ironic(look it up). obama as the chosen one? the messiah? all the while the alaskan abortion continues her long slide down back into reality. hmmm, maybe if she starts speaking in tongues... ha ha just kidding. that would be patently ridiculous

      • Posted By: moniqueO @ 09/28/2008 12:17:05 AM

Obama = LipStick BoY! Is that any better description?
You guys are the ones acting like he is your "Messiah".
Barry is the one that started all of "The One " crap.

It is sad when Leftys are so afraid of a strong woman they try to make up stories to bring her down. Kinda makes the lefties look weak, pathetic and desperate.
