To all intelligent posters, please don't be surprised by the Palin defenders. Many GOPers simply lack the education to enable them to employ basic logic. Note the poor grammar, disjointed thoughts, and inability to make coherent posts. Of course, they like Palin - she is one of them. Simply put, the real danger is not Palin. It's the uneducated GOPers. It's getting to a point where physical action must be taken to stop them.

Ok, answer this: Without commenting on what you do not or like about Bush or the Republican administration, exactly why is Obama more qualified to be President than Palin is to be Vice President? By that I mean what has he done in his life experience to make him qualified for the job.

Physical action? Are you a Stalinist thug?

Hey, not all of us Republicans are as you describe. I, for one, have run screaming from the Clinton camp over to Obama. This is not my Republican party. God help us all.

Palin is aware of the position of Alaska sharing a maritime and land border with Russia and Canada, probably much more so than the people she is being interviewed by. The military bases in Alaska provide the early warning front line with the old Soviet Union. The comment about military ops from Alaskan air bases are true, just as they are for the missions operating from California. Illinois doesn't share any international boundaries and Texas only has one. While she may not speak diplomatically and with such polished poise as the "chosen one", Palin presents herself as a quick learner. She isn't skilled in the East Coast gotcha journalism, but she'll learn. There are very few who understand the reason for the current financial crisis and fewer still who agree on the manner by which the US will extract itself. Bernenke and Paulson may be too clever in their understanding and manipulation of the financial industry to keep the broad public informed.

Palin is as ready as Obama is for the job of POTUS. Her experience as a mayor and a governor beats hands-down the Chicago machine cog, ACORN loving, FannieMae/Freddie Mac supporting, cocktail party swilling, liberal spending elitist that Obama is.

All things combined, us people from around the world seem to be unable to understand the logics behind american voting decisions. Just to pick a couple of fairly recent examples, they chose to go republicans after what still looks a very competent democrat like Clinton. So, they picked Bush not only once but even the second time when everyone knew he was/is the impersonation of lies. And not just any lie, but some horrendoues ones, dragging the country into a military, fiscal and economical mess as we're watching to this minute.
Sometime ago they never questioned a vice presidential clown like Dan Quayle which is what we see today only on high heels and skirt, and a bit dumber.
I'm getting to the point here that the average american really like the bizarre or they don't care or they don't know what the hell chosing a president means. Or a governor, or whatebver...
Yet, they do provide fun to the world. Most of all the irqui civilians by being blown apart by the wonderful objectives of someone like Cheney, or Bush or Busheney

You gotta love the "sure, i'm stupid...but he's stupider" defence.

What's wrong, can't find anything positive to say about your own candidate? Can't sell her credentials? Negative selling the opposition is a classic approach to sales....when you're product has no merits, you try to convince people that nobody else's do either.

Unfortunately, lemmings like yourself are just gullible enough that it works far more often than it should. That's your only hope of winning the election, so keep your fingers crossed!

This has to be the worst presidential race in a long time, except 2000 and 2004. On one ticket we have a candidate for president with many years of experience and a vp candidate with no national nor international experience. On the other ticket we have a candidate for president with very limited national experience, and no international experience with a vp candidate with years of national and international experience, Is it to late to start over and picket new candidates?

    • Posted By: edjones65 @ 10/02/2008 10:54:20 AM

I agree, I do not see McCain as one of the "wise men", nor do I see Obama as the "savior".

  • Posted By: marksgershenson @ 10/02/2008 9:43:57 AM

Here you go Palin fans, her latest stumble. At this time in our history, can we afford this type of person behind McCain? And I will ask again, with all the conservative writers calling her out, I think a person with a 12th grade education could answer this question without any hesitation that was presented in the video. Stop contributing to the Republican campaign, and watch how fast things can change.

We have had Dan Quayle and George Bush foisted into positions of prominence on a wave of Republican populism.
Intellectualism has been a dirty word ever since Nixon created the culture wars by sending Agnew to attack the ???effete corps of impudent snobs." It is her lack of knowledge and vapidity that makes her an attractive Republican candidate. As an intellectual and media elite, Fareed, Sarah Palin isn't going to Washington to seek your good opinion: Quite the opposite.

    • Posted By: star3 @ 10/01/2008 9:44:53 PM

"Intelligence" is highly over-rated, common sense is the "new" intelligence, and the old brand of intellect is out the door. Without common sense or smart, intellect, alone, won't work, Adolph Hitler proved that. John McCain & Sarah Palin have both, and no matter what kind of snide remarks you make because you are a liberal, it won't change the facts. You want your country back? O.K., so do I, thats why I will vote for the ones who can give it back, MCCain/ Palin. You can berate Palin all you want, but anyone who can rationalize, will know the truth, she could never have made it as far as she has without both intellect and smart common sense. There are many pretty, ambitious, intelligent young people, some are female, but all will not make it to the top, because they do not have all three combinations---intelligence, smart, & common sense. Some do, some don't. Facts are facts you can't dispute, regardless of your preferences.

      • Posted By: marksgershenson @ 10/02/2008 1:04:25 AM

I will take new intelligence and elite thinkers, rather than somebody who graduated fifth from the bottom in his class, and a clown for vp who went to several junior colleges and a state college to finally graduate. I will take Harvard brains anytime. If you were to hire somebody in your company, would you want someone who is highly educated, or someone who is not? You are grasping straws with a ridiculous argument.

        • Posted By: star3 @ 10/02/2008 3:07:59 AM

Its my opinion that the only reason you think my comment is
'ridiculeous" is because you are in denial. You do not want to hear anything which opposes your beliefs, just as some people refuse to accept the Bible in its entirety, instead they accept only what agrees with them and ignor the parts which do not offer them anything they want to hear. Truth is what it is, and only time will tell if you are correct, or if i am correct, or if either of us are. Don't stress it, just keep on believing whatever makes you comfortable, and allow me the same curtesy. I, sometime get on a rant about things I feel strongly about, but for the most part, I am a realist, so I know that all I can do is place my vote as my beliefs tell me to, then whatever happens from there will just have to be accepted regardless of my personal feelings; life goes on, and we hope its good, but, again, who wins or loses is not just one person's decision, all the voters have a say in it, so we can just go to the polls, cast our vote, then wait. If it turns out bad, and it was your candidate, then kick yourself, and if it turns out good, then give yourself a pat on the back, but trying to place blame on everyone else is not going to solve anything. Anyway, may the best people win---for all our sakes.

Facts are facts. Okay. Sarah Palin became governor of Alaska because she received nearly 100,000 votes in 2006, which was 49% of the votes cast. Before that, she was elected mayor of Wasilla twice, receiving fewer than 1,000 votes in each election. That prepares you for governing the nation like being the president of your local Little League prepares you for being the commissioner of baseball.

Understand this, Mr. Fareed Zakaria: We do not want Obama/Biden. We do not trust them. Has not the past two years shown us how incapable the Democrats are? The Democrat congress has been directly responsible for the problems we are having now; things were moving along fine for the first six years, then a Democratic congress was voted in, and everything soon began to go right down the tubes, and, now, even some of the Democrats are begining to realize it was a mistake to vote them in. They are not interested in the country, or in helping the poor, their primary goal is to get enough votes to have CONTROL! They want to turn America into a socialist country, which is a step away from becoming communist. OUR answer to that is a LOUD NO!!!! NO!!!! NO!!!! Try it, and I can guarentee the American people will make the first American Revolution look like a picnic in the park. We enjoy out freedom and will NOT give it up for the likes of anyone, no matter how big their smile is or how intelligent they feel themselves to be. So was Hitloer intelligent, but he was not smart, theres a big difference. The Democrat party of today is not the same as it once was, and I should know, because I use to be one. So,can the plan for controlling America, it "ain't" gonna happen, even if Obama is elected, they will NEVER be able to "change" things we don't want changed. Americans will never stand for it. We've already got a lot of bones to pick with government and we plan to start picking, starting with the illegal issue next; I believe we've already shown how we felt about a bailout for Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, so thats just the start of the bones we plan to pick, and if we don't like the answers, heads will roll! Maybe Obama, along with some others, may want to re-think some things unless they want to be in the line of fire. No, this is not a angry post by any means, I am just one citizen, but there are many of us out here who think the people in Washington, whom we hire, and whose salary we pay should start doing what they were hired to do----work for us, the people who hired them---not for the rest of the world or for the illegals, but for US!

Here you go Palin fans...What has been exposed of Palin is called the Peter Principle. I will even provide the link....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Principle Every person with the exception of Bush and his administration reaches it some point in their life. Eight years late, and this article has nothing to do with him.

When a person is properly vetted, they go through an interview process. When a person is improperly vetted, things come out sometimes in the worst possible fashion. When you saw Palin being interviewed by Couric, the answers that were given by her were unscripted. Unfortunately, questions were not asked of Palin like Couric and the three other interviews she gave as part of the vetting process. If she was asked anything like that before she was introduced, she would never have made the cut. Or you can speculate that she was given questions like that, and McCain liked the answers she gave. We will never know.

Sure you can practice for the debate. Sure you can even memorize some things, and perhaps we may see some improvement on her answers Thursday. However it does not change the fact she has gone way over her head with her abilities.

George Will, David Frum, and David Brooks and Kathleen Parker have asked her to step down. Zakaria is now joined in the chorus of concern. I think that everyone should be taking a close look and think about one thing. Do you think based upon her interviews, that you can look at someone in their eye and say, I think Palin is presidential, and can take over in a moments notice?

So I guess you don't trust George Will, David Brooks, David Frum, or Kathleen Parker either? Your argument is not very persuading, almost sounding desperate and like a child who is throwing a tantrum.

      • Posted By: star3 @ 10/02/2008 2:35:00 AM

Mark, maybe I AM "throwing a tantrum", and maybe its time those of us who can still think rationally should throw one, but, believe me, it is definitely not a desperate one, so you can put away your concern. I am only one of many voices who are very tired of all the pathetic attempts to dis-qualify Sarah Palin as a potential VP. McCain's policies appeal to me much more than Obama's do. You are as entitled to you opinions as I am to mine, and as my grandmother use to say, "There are enough opinions for everyone to have one, and I intend to keep mine." What you perceive as desperate is merely confidence in my beliefs, which proves how nearsighted you must be to feel that your beliefs are the only ones that count. I may be proved wrong, you may be proved wrong or we both may be proved wrong, but until that happens, I will continue to believe McCain/ Palin are the best ones for their prospective
offices for which they are runing. Thats one of the great beauties of living in a free society---being allowed to think for yourself.

WHAT DOSE GENDER HAVE TO DO WITH IT? IT'S THE COGNITIVE EXPERIENCE THAT COUNTS! :)

OBAMA & JOE WILL REFURBISH & REPAIR OUR COUNTRY, WITHOUT THE FABRICATED BULL, THAT PALIN DELIVERED! :)

    • Posted By: star3 @ 10/02/2008 12:09:06 AM

Please stop trying to make this election about gender or about color, try to make this about who is the best for America. I, personally, do not trust Obama or Biden, I do trust McCain & Palin, but whoever wins, we ALL need to understand that they will need our support to do the best job for all of us, regardless of our particular party affiation; childish behavior will only result in more problems, and we don't have the time or the money for the luxury of pouting and bickering, so what we will need to do is put aside our differences, roll up our sleeves and work together to do what has to be done for ALL
Americans. We need to take time for US for a change, and allow the rest of the world to learn how to do things for themselves. We can, and have helped, now its time for them to put into practice what we have taught them. They can not continue to use us as a crutch, but they should be aware, we will not completely leave them if they should have an emergancy which we can help with or if there is a threat to America, we will defend ourselves in whatever way we need to. It called common sense---a novel concept in this age of "everything is about me" attitude. But, I believe in us, I believe in America, I believe the same strong, determined to make things work attitude that our forefathers had, which gave them the courage to break away from the traditions they did not like in the old country to come to a strange, and often hostile land, and make it into the most envied and strongest nation on the planet in a very short time, I believe those same genes still lives in each of us, their decendants. Many of them, also, had differences of opinions, dislikes and such, but they knew they had to co-operate with each other, work together in order to accomplish what they did---a free nation, governed by the people & for the people. Yes, there were problems, but they worked them out, they had to. And they had help, the biggest of which came from God, and so they put their trust in Him, just as it says on our money. If we take Him out of our country, we will no longer be the once blessed nation. No freedom, no peace, know freedom, know peace; No Jesus, no peace, know Jesus, know peace. God bless America!

    • Posted By: star3 @ 10/01/2008 11:18:39 PM

Teddo, they aren't going for the "world stage", they're going into the White House, the rest of the world can go to blazes, we've already played mom & pop to them for too many years, its time for "the rest of the world" to grow up and stand on their own feet, just as America, their "kid", has done since the begining, while "the rest of the world" had millenniums to do what we've done in a relative short time, compared to the time they had. And Europe does not hate us as the biased media would have us believe, although, there are some isolated cases of radicals who hate anything that moves unless it believes the same as they. Don't under estimate McCain or Palin, and don't over estimate Obama and Biden. Both scenarios could be a mistake for our country. Think!
