It is amazing that racism is playing such a huge part in this election. I am voting for McCain because of the Republican's stance on abortion, gay marriage, and moral issues; the black people quoted in this article are voting for Obama because he is black. Why are blacks so blind to their own brand of blatent racism?

You're voting for mccracker because he's white. You're not voting for Obama because he's black. Since Obama came onto the scene, the only issues you racist rednecks could see was the issue of his race. We--black people--have been living with you vermin for centuries. You say one thing with that stupid smirk and grin of yours (see stupid bush) and do another thing, with your violent, pedophile, genocidal ways.
You rednecks won't even exist as a race in a hundred years or so. Ha Ha, and good riddance. This is GOD'S will.

Wow Raven - a little on the violent, hostile side. Say what you will but Obama is also white, raised by his Vice-President of Bank rich white grandmother. So he is not "A Black Man". He is mixed, probably more white than black being raised with his white family since his father left and didn't want anything to do with him.

    Have a faith.

Will black people begin to think of the consequences of committing crimes if a large number are unable to vote for Obama due to criminal records...and he loses? Or even if he wins, what about in 4 years if he should face a more formidable opponent? eg Bloomberg who has the money.

  • Posted By: awash @ 10/28/2008 1:30:01 AM

What if 98% of eligible black voters came out & voted and Obama loses? Does that mean that Bradley lives? Or does it mean that we've been put back in our place? Protest, what a waste. If you are shot 88 times by police going in your own front door without a corresponding common sense reason it's OK. You don't possible think the good old boy club is going to give up the throng to a half brotha. Two words SUPREME COURT

i have been a voter since 1956 and in all those years i did not see acontender that would keep thir promises,i did it because the saying your vote is your secret weapon, but now i have realized that it only take 270 elctoral votes to win the presidency, now obama already have 309 .so what is the use of spending all this money ? i see it he already is going to be the winner so im giving up on any kind of elections. the should give all that money to so many poor people that we have in the u.s. so im saying like roberto duran against leonard>NO MASSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!.

  • Posted By: brownstocking @ 10/27/2008 4:16:08 PM

Like people won't be voting for McCain because he's white? Folks interviewed have admitted that, so let's not get preachy living in a glass house. As for riots, you think there won't potentially be riots if Palin's people feel jilted? I'm prepared for protests either way.

Mr. Obama WILL be taking the oath of office in January. But, think of a ???President??? Obama as more of a ???Governor??? Obama. Mayors used to have a lot of power---back in the days when there were no black mayors. USA presidents used to have a lot of power---back in the days when there were no black presidents.

Look at the big picture, folks. The current global economic collapse is simply a necessary pretense and preliminary to a planned restructuring of the SYSTEM of Racism (White Supremacy). Borders are being erased and, informally at first, and then formally redrawn. The midsection of the area now known as the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, the white parts of Brazil, what is known as ???Europe???, Israel---are in the process of consolidating because they contain the largest numbers of persons who are classified as white. These areas will gradually have common legal and monetary systems as well as travel documents. Non-white people will be ruled, used, and abused to support this unjust system of color royalty. Some non-white people will be showcased to keep us from seeing it.

If you don't understand Racism (White Supremacy)---what it is and how it works---everything else that you do understand will only confuse you.----Neely Fuller, Jr.

I am a 56 year-old white female who has only missed voting in one election (years ago). I am a student of political history - American and world-wide. I have been listening to Sen. Obama since his campaign began almost 2 years ago, and have found him to be the most promising, sincere, intelligent, insightful, compassionate candidate for president I have seen in all my years of voting. I have been actively working for his campaign for months. I am sure Obama will win the election. However, if he doesn't win, the tragedy will be not only America's, but world-wide. America needs to understand that we are not just electing an American leader, but a world leader. Read what other countries have to say about us!

I wish poeple would do their research before making claims about Obama that are complete untrue. It's depressing how we take other people's word, instead of, educating ourselves. You believe people that say he's not a natural born citizen, that he's Muslim, and even misquote his book. you need to try finding out for yourselves the real deal before believing everything you hear. Then if you don't want to vote for him, then that's fine. But don't let others make the decision for you. I'm not even sure that I'm going to vote for him, but I took the time to do the research!!

Its absolutely pathetic that race is even a factor in a presidential election. People dont have a clue what he stands for but because hes african american, they will vote for him. And if he doesnt win, we can plan on riots. Its just simply pathetic and tragic on so many levels.

I'd hope they'd unregister, in great numbers, as Democrats and remain independent.

How do McCain supporters handle a McCain loss? Duh! What a stupid question this article presents! Anytime "your" candidate loses, people are upset and disappointed. It doesn't matter if you are black, white, purple or green! What's the point of this idiotic examination of the navels of the black populace over this topic. Grow up, Newsweek, grow a pair, get some ethics and quit trying to stir the pot!

I was born in Hawaii and am hopeful that Senator Obama will become the first Hawaiian born President. My parents were from Illinois and I know that if they were still alive they would be proud because Senator Obama represents the state of Illinois. Therefore, it is not hard to understand why many black people are looking forward to an Obama victory. The only way for the Republicans to win is for them to steal the election. In terms of experience Senator Obama has managed the largest Presidential campaign staff in history. It appears that he has done so well.

  • Posted By: obgyn @ 10/23/2008 8:48:57 AM

Senator Obama was sworn into the Senate Jan 5, 2005,
    That is over 3 years.
Palin has only 2 as Governor, and please do not make yourself look foolish by talking about the mayor of a city that had a little over 5k when she was mayor.

The Annenberg Group Heir and widow of Mr. Annenberg has endorsed McCain.
It is Mr. McCain who is a dishonorable man.

  • Posted By: obgyn @ 10/23/2008 8:42:41 AM

What an awful question to ask them.
I am Jewish and if a Jewish person was running , I would find it insulting for you or anyone else to ask such a question.

As long as something is fair and equal, that community will conduct themselves the same as any other community. Fair and Equal.

The problem would come if some nutjob that was incited by the campaign of Hate and Fear Express driven by John McCain and Sarah Palin did something to harm him or his family. And although I would never condone it, I would understand.
Please stop making an issue of race.
