What If Obama Loses?

This article seems to threat riots if Obama is beaten. I wonder how many votes you think will come to Obama by using unrest as a threat against the majority? Most people can not even spell this word, because it is never considered, however contrary to popular polls, the majority of any one single race/ethnicity will be euporean for a very long time. Most polls that same the majority will change are combining all minorities to out weigh the majority. Anyway, if Obama is the candidate that is the best candidate for the majority of voters, than he will be president. It will not be because of the riot threats or because of his race, except for Africain americans. But it will be MOST CERTAINLY BE, because enough of the MAJORITY, the very people blamed for all that is wrong, has voted for, and I might add in more numbers than africian americans, Obama. I will take your article in consideration as I talk with my friends about their choices as well as mine. I can tell you, however it did nothing other than make me think of who Obama was with for 20 years of Sundays, and will be extremely hard for me to get past now more than ever.

You both proved my main point. Whites are not allowed to have opinions that differ from Blacks or they are racist or bigots! What I wrote is true true. Not a popular opinion...but true! I have been voting for a LONG time and every time I vote I have had to deal with my vote not "winning" for most of that time. This is a democratic republic and we vote a majority for OUR representatives ........ good, bad and indifferent.. It isn't a matter of color or anything else ........EXCEPT who won the most votes of the majority of the people or in the case of the President the majority of "electors". Get over it! Deal with it!

This is a perfect example of why black americans have become the most racist people in american society. To vote for a black man for president stricly because he is black is as ignorant as continuing to vote for democrats because they are somehow better for the black race when economics has proven those theories wrong. The reason the rest of Americans should be leary of Barack Obama is because of the mass ignorance being practiced by black america in voting for someone who has no qualifications for being president even though he is black..

I think that it's pathetic that Obama's race is such a concern. This article said it would be a "slap in the face of black people" for Obama to come this far and lose. What about McCain? He came just as far as Obama, (but McCain will go farther shall I add). Also, let's stop talking slavery already. Who cares about slavery anymore? That doesn't matter and people should definitly stop bringing it up. In today's world, our prisoners are slaves doing manual labor for Big Brother. Obama isn't qualified to win and would probably be a better choice somewhere down the line when the people can afford the taxes he wants to take from our checks for free healthcare and etc. If you can't afford healthcare, sorry about your luck. But as far as the race issue goes, Obama has done a lot of distancing to try to keep himself looking like he is egalitarian, but women are underrepresented in his campaign advisors. Hillary should have been nominated, and would have been, if Florida & Michigan votes had been counted. We have a candidate that no one is terribly happy with (except for blacks), IMO. Much like Kerry in '04.

If McKain/Palin win this election [and the selection of Palin si nothing more than political theater], there are going to be so many dissillusioned and dissaffected people in this country that their reaction will be a problem in itself. and guess what? By far the biggest number of them will not be African American.

Close your eyes and listen to both men and pretend they are both purple. Not a black or white thing. This is not Martin Luther King's dream. He didn't want anyone judged by the color of their skin. Reread it, his words will inspire you to tears when you look at what is going on now. We still don't have it right. We have swung from one side totally to the other and he wanted us to meet in the middle. Judge a man by the truth not by the lies he tells on the other guy or the part he has had in something that he is keeping from you. Then pick the man who tells you details not just promises. Obama is taking credit for this bailout like he is really in Washington trying to get something done. Oh yeah, phoning it in on your Blackberry counts right? Does it work for you to phone in instead of showing up to your workplace? Making fun of people seems to be what is perfectly fine for the Democrats and the liberals. Not telling the whole truth doesn't make it right and it hurts the taxpayer in the end and that is never funny.

How very confused you are. The Republicans have moved way beyond race and promote people based on capability such as Colin P. and Condi R. These are the two that were the face of America around the world for 8 years. These two were the representatives sent to meet with countries throughout the world. I would vote for either one if they were running as a Republican for Pres. I would argue that Obama is only the Dem nominee because he IS BLACK. If he was white he would not have been chosen due to his inexperience and very radical associations (Racist Minister, Communists) Any white man or woman would be unelectable with these credentials. If he loses it will be because of his rediculous relationships with radicals and his very non traditional youth.

Here and there I have heard light talk of African Americans rioting or becoming aggressive if Obama loses. What truth is there in that ? I should hope none, however, it is difficult to overlook the over and undertones broadcasted from many churches, rallies, and radio stations that are pumping up people to vote for Obama based on passed anger versus needs of a country as a whole. Recently, I was listening to a radio talk show host using different names (which would be considered terrible racial slurs if they were spoken by a white person toward an African American) to refer to white people (all during her plea for the "brothers" to get out and vote). Why are these African Americans doing this? Don't they think that Obama is supposed to be representing white people as well? Or is it a driving aggression toward white people ( impossible to miss when listening to rallies, and talk show host/ess calling the "brothers" to stand up to the ...white...oppression.... ) that they can not conceal? I thought that the president supposed to lead America black and white American, not a coalition of angry African Americans carryinhg resentment as a fuel to influence the events of our nation. I have noticed Obama supporters even dressing and talking like Obama. If he is not elected as president is it possible that he could continue to hold a powerful position to continue to influence the masses of African Americans moved by his being?

It's a shame that Newsweek wants to play the race card at this point in the race. I'm white and I will be very disappointed if Obama doesn't win. I was also very disappointed to see that black voters didn't bother to vote in the Democratic primaries in number anywhere close to the white voter turnout.

If blacks feel so strongly about Obama winning, maybe they should trying showing up this time. I keep reading about the black vote and the youth vote making a difference this time. Well, that would be a first. The under 25 crowd does't bother to show up either. In the Democratic primaries, the only state where the youth vote was fairly strong was New Hampshire.

So let's stop writing all this stuff about black voters being upset if Obama doesn't win and asking them what they intend to do about it and whether they will protest in the streets or not. What's that all about? It's about racial stereotyping, that's what it all about. Cut it out.

Obama is the Democratic party's nominee for President of the United States. Period. Let's leave out all the referenes to race. There is only one race -- the human race!
