Thank you to advancedbio for your letter. It is a perfect example of white dogme and propagana. In fact, I am writing a book on the subject and will feature yours as an exact example of the stereotypical white racist. I think you meant to say that it is in fact blacks that are racist, although you failed to include any real examples to support your theory.
A white "friend" of mine said to me, "we can't let a *** into the white house". Another professed he knows that the black brain is inferior to the white!!!! These are comments of grown, wealthy white men, supposedly educated. That is the fact, the reality and the truth, as a white person I can easily state that racism is alive and well in America. I think it is based on the unspoken thinking that sharing power with any race or color is not acceptable in the eyes of the wealthy white, so we think up these moronic reasonings to try and hold up our murderous thinking.

The answer to this is simple. White people should be slaves to the black race, treated exactly like we trerated them for the next 400 years. Then we shall see the state of the white race. I am sure we would not be angry, or a bit upset with those who killed our mothers, burned our fathers and kept us as material posessions for generations. I am sure that we would love and support those who raped our daughers and lynched our sons before our eyes.

The white man has no understanding of the black mind - which the white man is the exact reason for. Not even 1 generation has passed since segregation. If white people actually got a grip on the reality of what they have done to a whole race of people, they should be mortified. But - we just say - oh, that was 5 generations ago - they should be over it by now.
Own your white past. Every time you pass a black person, you should appoligize. Especially you.
Here are the facts - for 400 years whites used the black race as material posesions to be raped, murdered and worked into the ground (11 hour days, 7 days a week). This general state of disgusting racism continued in various ways until 30 years ago and remains today in many forms, which you have illuminated for us. Thank you. May I ask, if the tables were turned against whites in that way - if your grandparents as far back as you can look were treated in this way, would you bless your oppressor? Have you ever thought about that?

I fully understand the black communities feeling some trepidation over the possibility of Barak Obama losing the election, though I am white I too feel that trepidation. Barak Obama is the best man for the job of Presidency at this time. My fear is not based on thinking that he may not recieve enough of the popular vote, but whether or not the electoral college will step in and veto that popular vote as it did in the last election, Selecting Bush over Gore.

I believe that Obama is the best and really the only choice for All Americans, and that if in the tragic event that the electoral college overrules the popular vote, then perhaps we need to discuss the termination of the electoral college.

I also believe that we will see the largest turn out for the polls this election year than we have ever seen in America, I hope that I am right, and that everyone gets registered and votes.
So please everyone get out and spread the word, help others to get registered and help others to get to the polls.

What a positive article. A show dedicated to electing Obama. Snoop Dog getting crack heads and gang members to register( more people that don't pay taxes but cost ALL of us money) a person who spent 2 years in prison (who may not be eligible to vote). And a warning, if he loses we should board up our homes because who knows what the black community will do? Racism...97% of blacks vote for a black person because he's black? Yup...that's what it sounds like.

Blacks are in fact smarter than whites for they consistantly vote for the highest bidder for their votes. Whites however, are full of all sorts of idealistic concerns that lead them to fel good abouting to slit their own throats.

Since when did voting for a republican candidate on issues become racist. White democrats have lost plenty of times and so have republicans. If the republican candidate was black would it be racist that he lost or just because people liked the democratic candidate? As a free American with the blessed right to vote, I am personally offended that I don't feel free to vote republican or democrat based on the issues, but may feel pressured to vote one way or another because blacks would be offended if a black man didn't win. Has anyone considered that he might lose because he's a democrat, not because he's black? I'm not saying there won't be racism, just make sure you don't pin it on the innocent.

Prejudice and discrimination exist in the US. If you are black you may have a harder time to get a job. You may be labeled lazy and a no good. It can be tough being black. I am happy to see so many people here, black and white, being sensitive to the problem of race. We cannot hide from it.

Some contributors here do not at all want to talk about race. Well from my experience many people who are uncomfortable to talk about it are the racists or prejudiced ones.

What is important is for us to understand that black or white, everyone has a right to run for the office of the presidency of the US. Despite certain ignorant and ridiculous comments here, Obama has shown that he has what it takes to compete with honor, win and lead. It is never a joke for someone of the minority race to mount to such a high level. At least if people are honest they should acknowledge this fact instead of insulting Obama.

What is important is for everyone to register and vote for whomsoever they wish. It is a democracy. If a black guy wants to vote for Obama, fine. If a white guy wants to vote for McCain, fine. But what is not acceptable is for people not to vote for a candidate because of his skin color. Blacks have been voting for whites ever since. Even when people such as Jesse Jackson was running. I did not see black people voting for him en masse. This is because they did not align much to his views. (Surely they were not racist then). But with Obama, he has a mesage that rings wiell with whites as well as with blacks. It is therefore not racism if blacks vote for Obama at this time. (Goodness they have been voting for white candidates over all these years.

This election is not one of race, it is one of hope. Whites and blacks are seeing a hope for significant change and are emotional about it. Indeed, some blacks are expressing themselves in a way that shows their anticipation. It is like going to a baseball game; you want your team to win and cannot see them losing. If they do you get mad. This is healthy. What this election will do is to give hope to many blacks and it will bring together whites and blacks because they will have a common cause. Some whites will be violent if Obama wins. So will some blacks. However I do not think that any black will resort to violence on McCain, but I am not sure about some hardcore whites. Reading the blogs, one sees such a tendency.

What is dangerous is to deny racism exists. What is desirable is for all races to work together towards a common cause.

One thing going for Obama is that people want to vote in a black man. Despite the black's beliefs, the majority of white people are not racist. In fact, most white people hate racists, so people like Sharpton, Jackson, Maxine Waters, McKinney, etc., would never have a chance. I've heard that "white people don't choose black's leaders". Fine. But as long as black's pick obviously racist leaders, white people won't play along.

Then comes Obama. He talked about uniting the people, admired the founding fathers, has a white mother, and we thought he really was the "chosen one". Then we start finding out about his racist past, and though he's no Sharpton, he's not our ideal.

Now we see the racism that is rampant in the black community. 90% plan to vote for Obama, why? What if 90% of the white people vote for McCain for the same reasons? Blacks think racism is bad, unless it's their tool to get ahead.

Remember the illegals who could hide in this country, take our services, send their money to Mexico, bring in their families. When the scat hit the fan was when they started parading their power (and Mexican flags) in protests in L.A. This article is all about the upcoming black protests. Maybe you thought burning down Watts, Detroit, D.C., was your way to get a bigger share of the American pie. But the protests are plain racist, and it will set you back for another 20 years.

If the type of questions and investigations reveals media bias, the media is thoroughly racist. It keeps refering to Obama's being African American while ignoring the geriatric McCain with 4 recurrences of cancer. The media ignores his white heritage. It is not just African Americans who fear an Obama loss. I am not African American, and I am afraid that Obama will lose to an incompetent Republican who is morally bankrupt personally and politically, having been a serial adulterer and caught and condemned as a corrupt member of the Keating 5. I am afraid that a woman, Palin, who charged women who were victims of rape the cost of the rape evidence kit will replace this incompetent man, a man who is a dull student, finishing 844th out of 899th in his class and, like another dull man, Bush, proud of it. Obama is still married to the wife of his youth, a Christian virtue, worked his way up from poverty like Lincoln did, honoring God's command to earn by the sweat of your brow and Jesus' command to maximize your gifts, and Obama gave up wealth to serve the poor, as Jesus would have wanted. So I am afraid that this nation will reject the best and brightest for incompetence in a pale shade of cold white, a cold white that would choose Supreme Court justices that turn down a woman's right to sue when she found out she was being paid much less than her male counterparts because of the amoral technicality, she didn't sue within so many months, never mind the company held that information a secret. I am afraid God will judge this nation when we do not choose by the fruits of one's life, and rather by our ugly prejudices. My parents live on a fixed income. Their retirement is hurt badly thanks to Bush policies that McCain backed. My retirement planning is being ruined thanks to the tanking economy, an economy McCain, who thinks 5 million a year is middle class!, and yes, I am afraid. I will vote for a morally good man and the most intelligent of the two, Obama by a country mile.

I am a white man and I'd have no problem voting for a black candidate or a woman. My dream ticket would be Colin Powell/Condoleezza Rice. These are both extremely intelligent people who just happen to be black. That said, I am a Republican, but was not always one. I would cross party lines to vote for the right candidate. Black/white/brown etc. is not an issue for me. Some Democrats want one of their own in the white house so bad they look past all his many flaws.
Before you vote Obama, consider these many issues:
    1. He belonged to a racist church for 20 years and called the racist-hate spewing preacher there his friend and mentor. (I don't go to churches like that or keep friends like that...I get far away from them.) The apple doesn't fall far from the tree AND birds of a feather do flock together. Go to their website and read their doctrine. Substitute the word "white" for "black." It's racism, pure and simple. Would you vote for a white candidate with a credo like Obama's old church with the word "white" substituted? I think not.
    2. The Larry Sinclair issue- Who is that you ask? A gay man that claims he did drugs with Obama and had sex with him about 8 or so years ago. It may or may not have happened, but this man says he is bringing it up because he feels Obama is a hypocrite. May or may not be true, but my point is the media is avoiding this story. I don't care if he is gay, straight or bisexual, but don't repress free speech.
    3. Obama's record as a congressman has been to help his friends. Not the black community, Not the white community, gay community, etc.
    4. The mysterious murder of the gay choir director at Obama's former church and the allegation that he and Obama were involved. May not be true, but is also repressed in the media.
    5. Obama's comments about his grandmother being a "typical white person" who is afraid of black people. What a pile of C**P. That was a racist remark and shows his true character.
    6. The video I saw with my own eyes of Obama proudly showing off an erection (in his jeans) on a campaign plane. Kind of funny, but it was yanked almost immediately by CNN.
    7. Michelle Obama's thesis which has racist overtones.
8 Reports of Obama goon squads, especially those harassing Larry Sinclair and the report on lawmakers in at least one state repressing free speech against Obama. Larry Sinclair was arrested before a press conference in an effort to silence him. If he is nuts, let him rant, but he does have the right of free speech.
    9. Obama's Freudian slip when being interviewed by Stephanopoulos. He came right out and said "my Muslim faith." I don't care if he is a Muslim, but if he is, he should be proud of it.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. Obama is not what he seems to be. Look beyond his charisma and color. I already have a savior, I need a president. I am not a huge fan of McCain, but he does not have these types of iss

If you believe all of these things that have been proven to be false then vote as you like and you will have the goverment that you deserve. You Republicans love to harp on Rev Wright but answer me this. If Sen Obama had been present during what you call 20 years of anti white rage by Wright, how do you reconcile the fact that Sen Obama is half white? Are you trying to say that he hates himself? That he is denying the fact that he is of mixed race? Or is it that you abide by the 1/5 standard and believe he isnt white enough to be offended by this type of language.
And for you to suggest that Sen Obama has been involved in the murder of another human being only goes to show how ignorant you really are? To give any creadence to a convicted crimminal who has been proven to be a habitual liar only underscores why those like you try to hide their true intentions behind hoods.
I would prefer that you just came out and said that you cant vote for a ni**er then for you to spew this nonsense to me and expect me to accept it as palusable. At least Rev Wright had the courage to say what he felt out loud for the world to examine and call him out on. You are a COWARD who tries to hide amoungst us, smiling in our face while poisoning our well water and claiming to be adding flouride. Vote Republican like the rest of those who think like you. Your not as clever as you think. We see thru your fake outrage and see the true meaning of your post.
Be proud of what you are sir. Even if that is a piece of human waste.

Instead of addressing Buemanfan's comments, instead you resort to namecalling and EMPTY accusations! Why - BECAUSE THAT IS ALL YOU HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at the facts! Obama has ACKNOWLEDGED his "hands on" involvement with ACORN . Well - read this:
WASHINGTON, Sept 25, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- James Terry, Chief Public Advocate for the Consumers Rights League, today testified at a joint House Administration and House Judiciary Committee oversight hearing on "Federal, State and Local Efforts to Prepare for the General 2008 Election," where he highlighted "corruption at every level of ACORN including embezzlement, cover-ups, misuse of taxpayer funds and voter fraud." An excerpt of his testimony follows:
James Terry, Chief Public Advocate, Consumers Rights League:
"ACORN routinely says it will clean up its act. Yet, given its decade-long history of voter fraud, embezzlement, and misuses of taxpayer funds, ACORN's pattern of fraud can no longer be dismissed as a series of 'unfortunate events.'
"The problem of voter registration fraud raises serious questions for this committee, and the Consumers Rights League appreciates that the right questions are being asked.
"Here are the most important questions right now: We know about the thousands of potentially fraudulent voter registration cards turned in by ACORN and caught by officials. But given the size of ACORN's efforts and the fact that the abuses appear to be systemic, we believe it is fair to question how many more fraudulent registrations have not been discovered, Furthermore, as this mega organization with a decades long history of violating the law is turned to get out the vote efforts, we believe it is fair to question how many fraudulent registrations may lead to fraudulent votes or what other activities they are willing to undertake to influence the election.
"These are serious questions, especially in light of recent election results which show that a just few votes can change the outcome of an election, the course of our country and the course of history.
"While we do not presume to tell this committee how to address this problem, we respectfully submit that our nation's election system is facing a concerted campaign that raises serious issues that merit the committee's oversight and attention."

My, My, My. Did you actually read what I posted? I did not say I believed Larry Sinclair. My point is that his free speech is being violated. Obama attended that church and Wrights hate speech speaks for itself. Your response is particularly hateful and nasty. I would never call another poster a piece of filth. As a christian, I forgive you for that. As to what portion of what race he is, who cares. Most of my list of issues except for the ones about Sinclair are established fact and most of it on video. I also never suggested that Obama was involved in that murder. I simply mentioned the allegation and said it might not be true. My main point on that issue was the non-coverage in the media. And by the way...just because the Obama camp says something is not true does not "prove" anything. You can think what you like about me, but I am not a racist. I hope that you can find peace in your life, you seem to be very angry. God bless.

If you vote for someone because they are black, white a woman or a man you are ignorant. The people in this article sound like Obama should win the election because he is black not because he has the better policies or experience. It appears that they believe that since he is black he should be elected, this is not affirmative action and perhaps his supports are so use to having things given to them because of their race or sex they have come to expect it instead of work for it. The main issue put forth from his supporters is that if he is back vote for him regardless of the fact that he is a socialist and has socialist ideas, and surrounds him self with questionable people (past terrorists, known racists, and people known to support communist philosophies). Obama can not even make an effective argument against the person that is running & keeps referring to Bush???s record and policy, should the Republicans refer to Carter???s (the worst president I have known) policies that ran mortgages to 18% or Clinton???s sex romps in the White House because they were Democrats and so is Obama so Obama will do the same thing. Whoever you vote for it should be based on their policies, experience and what they bring with them not because of their color or sex ??? grow up.

The fact that a barack is even up for president shows that we are progressing as a country. THAT IS GREAT NEWS. From the article it seems like black men are ready to protest if he loses which will bring things back to where they were. Let's just enjoy the fact that we are crossing racial lines and we are a less bias america.

The only change we will have if Obama is elected is that we will have a black president. He's beholding to so many people with radical views that are not in the best interest of our country that there will be no change. If Obama truly represented the ideals I believe in I would love to vote for him because to some having a black president would be a signal that things have truly changed. BUT Obama is not what he seems, he's a skilled speaker, he's an empty shirt. he just doesn't have the experienced as McCain said with in the voice of a patriotic, unselfish, dedicated older man...."you just don't understand". Obama would have made a great VP, he would have gained immeasurable experience and then maybe he would be the right black man for the job.
I ask that the black community not force their hopes and dreams on an empty shirt. There will be no change. Then you'll be really really mad.

You know...I for one am sick and tired of Barack Hussein Obama with his radical connections to criminals, his constant ranting about being Black.....African Americans have to smarten up. First they have to shut up about their past because....and its a big secret.....nobody gives a effing rats *** about it..hello...Barack Hussein Obama and all the African Americans are not getting it. They are living in the past and they are whining about the past. Nobody needs to hear that baloney. Thats why John McCain....a true patriot...will be elected the next President of the United States.

    • Posted By: navia @ 09/28/2008 2:24:22 PM

Mr. Cannadian, have you done any reading? In your research, did you also find that Patriot McCain has baggage that connects him to banking criminals? Did you also know that your patriot was having an affair with his now wife, Cindy, while he was still married (for a year) to his first wife? Now there is more trash that can be thrown at your patriot, but I don't think that is how we in AMERICA elect presidents. Do your research, many of our presidents come to office with shady relationships and judgement problems. Why must Obama be perfect! Listen Mr. Canadian, Obama is a democrat and democrats vote for their nominee. This is not a black or white thing, it is a party philosophy thing. Blacks have voted for white men for president since they have been allowed to vote. I wonder can republicans even make a good showing in the election without spreading unfair information, rumor, disparaging comments a about a great amereican like Obama. Both these men are great Americans. Let's stick to the facts, the issues and where each is going to take this country. Anything else is, frankly, dumb and like a mid high school student council election...

You idiot this country was built on our backs and our past. The reason that this country was so powerful for so long is because of free slave labor, jim crow, and racist white Americans. You will never own up to your inhumane treatment of African Americans and love to dismiss it as whining. Trying taking 25 lashes across your back while hanging from a tree and see if you woudn't be mad as hell too. This country will always be in trouble because of the racist elements that exist. How is that America can tell Sadaam how to treat hsi people when they treat their own like ***? Who do you white people think you are?

I think you over-estimate the value of slave labor and the agricultural contribution of your forebears. After all, the industrialized North did indeed defeat the slave-based South. This country was built "by" blacks the same way farms are run "by" oxen. But nevermind that. I've never understood why blacks, if America does indeed hate them so, hate thus far failed to find their way back home. Of course it may just be because black Americans are FORTUNATE to have been born HERE, instead of over THERE. If your great-grandaddy hadn't been a slave, you'd probably be herding water buffalo with a ring in your nose and living out of a mud hut. That's the glass half full.

I am not black. I am not voting on the basis of gender or color. I support Obama because he is intelligent, and very knowledgeable of international relations, the economy, health, education, and much more. I am scared to death of McCain's choice for VP, Palin. She is a pistol packing, 19th century frontier type completely out of touch with the current problems or the world and the US as clearly indicated by her interview with Couric. If she gets in I'm afraid a lot of women like myself will consider exile. She in no way represents women who are not all hockey mom's nor can kill and skin a moose. I'm hoping there is enough intelligence out there to look for more in a VP.

The thing is all of the people that started from the beginning in the primaries have the main goal , not of improving life for the common person. Their goal when they get in the race is to win., no other reason. They make really nasty commercials about each other's record instead of talking about their own record, all of them have a famous line "With my plan...." but they never tell the public what the plan is. All they do is tell us how we will live a much better life with them in office. Look at it at another level such as a small business. The owner has two people apply for the manager's job. These two guys know all the employees and they make sure they tell them what they want to hear. Once they become the manager though many times they look at you like they never met you before. Same thing will happen here as it always has

Racism is Obama's cop out for his own failures and if you buy into this, that's a shame as I can't help you wise up, you have to figure it out for yourself. But it is so sad for you!

First of all, let me start by saying that African-Americans never stopped believing that Obama has a chance to win. He will win the Presidency and show everone that he can make a difference.
Secondly, let's stop saying that balck people are only voting for Obama because he is black. The sad truth is that there will always be something said about black votes. If Obama was a woman, then the issue would be how many blacks voted for her because she is a minority just like them and not on her values. Come on already...can we just focus on their stands. This race SHOULD NOT be based on skin color or race. Listen to what the candidates are saying and really try to understand their positions. I'm sick of all the racial comments detouring the focus from what we really need to focus on. A president that can change the way our economy is deteriorating, more and more troops are dying, and the healh care and education issues are not getting the attention they need is the kind of president that we need. Obama is change. I want every person (black , white, red, or yellow) to vote not with an honest heart and determination to change the way we live. Republicans had a chance to change things and they've made it worse.Time to go!!!!

Black, White, Brown, Yellow, Red, so what Obama has one hell of a lot of nerve and arrogance with the amount of experience he has to try for the top job. If blacks want a black on the job at least they could support someone with qualifications eg; Colin Powell. OBAMA IS A TROJAN HORSE>
