Is there a fear that black- African Americans will revolt or riot? I have heard some sermons that are laced with rage all in support of Barack. I have heard some speak of this type of reaction. Would Barack continue to lead , in some powerful yet peaceful way, the African Americans of this county whom have so clearly voiced the desire for a black leader? Many'African-Americans have begun to follow his role model by dressing like him and even sounding like him. Would he find a way to be a prominent figure for those he has touched so far. Also, will the women and moose hunters revolt and riot if Palin is not elected VP?

If Obama loses it's not going to be because of white republicans and it won't be because of black democrats, it will be because of white democrats who could'nt vote for a black man. Republicans are'nt going to vote for a democrat wether he's white or black, they won't vote for him because he is a democrat, so to point the finger at rascist republicans for using "shady" actions to win is wrong. Look simply at the white democrat voter who would'nt vote for a black man even when he has all the momentum of being the first black having a universal hatred for republicans in the world and a media practically fawning over the man all working in his favor. look at the white democrat who walks into the voting booth and votes for Mccain and then turns around to the cameras and says "yeah Obama". Because they dont want a black man to have power, they want power over you and always expect you to vote for them simply because they promise you more government programs and free money in welfare just so you stay where THEY want you to, just mindless sheep voting for them. So if Obama loses and I as a white republican will not vote for him because he is the most liberal candidate the democrats have ever backed and his proposed policies scare me, not because he is black. I would vote for a black republican candidate and had wanted Codoleeza Rice to run but she did'nt and just as well, black democrats are so well programed by the left that if there is a black republican out there he is just a "house ***" and doing what the white master says. That sort of mentality is a pity in 2008.

When 90% of black Americans support their black candidate, Obama, media doesn't call them as racists. When 20% or so, of voters supports MacCain, they are called as racists.

The Democrats are sucessful in deceving voters

    • Posted By: navia @ 09/28/2008 2:10:31 PM

TTmich, now that is ignorance. Over 90 percent of black folks have voted for the democratic nonimee for as long as they have been able to vote. These were white men. Was that racism? Blacks have not changed their methodology. They are voting for the democratic nominee. It is a few bigoted white democrats that are changing theres.

      - THERE IS NO DECEPTION WHERE WE STAND.
      - DID YOU JUST CRAWL FROM UNDER A ROCK?

It is kind of frustrating to answer your question TTMICH because it is another reminder of out of touch so many Americans are regarding race. I'm always amazed how some people can be so smart in so many ways but for some reason consistently remain embarrassingly out of touch regarding our own American history and culture. But let me first explain.

[1.] - Since Herbert Hoover showed a disdain and lack of respect for African American during the Great Depression, Blacks have voted the Democratic Presidential ticket 85%-to-95% starting with Franklin Roosevelt in 1932. Previously Blacks voted primarily with the Republicans because it was the Party of Abraham Lincoln.

[2.] - The African-American voting block is the Democratic Party's most loyal supporters.

[3.] - African-Americans voted Clinton (a White man) at +90% in 1992. No racism charges against Blacks then.

[4.] - African-Americans voted Clinton (a White man) at 90% in 1996. No racism charges against Blacks then.

[5.] - African-Americans voted Al Gore (a White man) at 85% in 2000. No racism charges against Blacks then.

[6.] - African-Americans voted John Kerry (a White man) at +90% in 2004. No racism charges against Blacks then.

[7.] - So when you insinuate racism as the reason for Blacks (in general) supporting Obama solely because he is Black, then pronounce your ignorance of American culture and history.

And one other thing, there are a number of Democratic Primary polls still circulating. Try to get access to one. You may be shocked at what the "Exit Polls" recorded. Surveys taken outside primary precincts reported 10%-to-20% of Whites that voted for Hillary, freely acknowledge to pollsters (aka strangers with a clipboards) they voted for Hillary because they could not bring themselves to vote for a Black man (Obama).

I hope this shed some light.

      GOD Bless America!
      GOD Bless the Obama-Biden Leadership!

Great post Perusing-through The reason that African Americans are voting for Obama is because African Americans are Democrats! It's that simple. The question is, why some whites, who are Democrats, won't vote for him. That's where bigotry resides. And Obama's baggage is no heavier that it was when blacks voted for Clinton. We all remember the countless women that surfaced, the shady business deals and countless investigations about he and his wife's dealings in Arkansas. And McCain has baggage. Remember the Keating 5? And remember how he and his present wife , Cindy, were having an affair for a year, while he was still living with and married to his first wife? No man comes to this office without some past breach in judgement and integrity. Obama is not perfect either, but he is the nominee. And he shouldn't have to worry about America's Demcrats' votes!!!

FYI- 90% of blacks voted democrat prior to Obama.

No, they are called stupid. ;-) (If you're supporting the guy, shouldn't be able to spell his name correctly?)

I will not vote for Obama! Obama made his made choice years ago while attending Reverend Wright's hateful anti American sermons. I can't even imagine exposing my wife and children to the hateful things that were said during Wright's sermons, if the shoe was on my foot, I would have walked out the very first time. By the way my vote means more to me than than the color of the persons skin...which in this case you have one bi-racial and three Caucasians. All of my life I have been voting for the other guy, that's right I am Hispanic, this time I will sit it out. Convicted Marion Barry was re-elected into the mayors office after serving six months in prison, you think skin color had something to do with him winning his re-election? No sir/ma'am my vote stands for more than skin color. Now as I understand it the rapists, crack dealers, child abusers, basically the filth of this nation are interested in voting for Obama simply because of his skin color...come on, where is the principle justice in that? Obama only denounced his Reverend once it seemed possbile that he would win the Democratic nomination, to little way to late. How can Reverend Wright attack his own country after the 911 attack? A patriotic person would not use this attack against us and turn your back on your beloved country! I served 25 years in the Armed Forces, in all kinds of unimaginable conditions...I love my country dearly and wish it no harm! Reverend Wright and Obama showed their true colors and they are not at all patriots of this great county of ours. They are cut from the same cloth as the one's who wish us harm. Obama does not deserve the highest office of this great country of ours...I am a very proud Hispanic with upstanding children that are also realizing their dreams in this greatest country in the world!

Here we go again. "Waah waah waah, if I don't get my way it's racism and I'm gonna hold my breath till I turn blue." At this point, after all these years of the same ole song and dance, black people just sound like spoiled brats who can't deal with the real world. Black society has become a caricature of the very stereotypes they claim to hate, and actually perpetuate those stereotypes through these threats of violence...and the real violence that seems to be so prevalent in their circles. The reality is, if you want to be president, you're going to have to fight a smarter, tougher political fight than the Republicans. The Republican spin machine has ripped the guts out of many a candidate, regardless of his color. It seems to be only black people that are voting by race. I believe that the vast majority of white people would have no problem voting for ANYONE, regardless of race, who is the better person and most qualified for the job. I believe it's all the talk of "racism" and threats of inappropriate reactions if he loses that will prevent many people from voting for Obama. It's just like a parent standing his ground against a fit-throwing kid; it becomes a matter of not giving in to the coercion. The mathematics tell you that there are not enough black people in the country to vote Obama into office; Obama needs the white vote, also. With new reports like this one, I think it's the black people of this country that will lose the election for Obama.

It is no wonder racism is still a big problem in this country, when I as a white person reads an article like this. "You think white people were just going to turn over the keys to the most important job in the land without a fight?" I have taken color out this, other's obviously haven't. This election should be about who is going to stop the corruption of lobbying, who is going to protect us from terrorists and who do we trust.....when people are just voting for a candidate on color that's really scary. I would love to see a poll showing the % of blacks voting for McCain vs the % of whites voting for Obama...there would be no comparison but the white race is still generalized and called racisit. Time for some to start looking in the mirror.

As an old white gal, I've seen many presidential elections. With the mess we're in right now I want someone who is smart and has the ability to be diplomatic with other nations. As a child, Barack Obama has actually lived in a foreign country and experienced life among real people who struggled to survive. Growing up with a single parent who struggled to make ends meet, he knows what the poor and middle class face daily. Those experiences have helped shape the man he is today.
John McCain grew up in a military family and was a prisoner of war for several years. I doubt he got to know anything about normal life in those countries while at the hands of his captors. As a senator he has many years of experience but again, I doubt he has any knowledge of what average Americans lives are truly like.

I want someone in the White House who will call on experts within a given field to get the best advise on a problem, not yes men who will say what they thing a president wants to hear. I want a president whose first instinct is not to invade a country but to examine all the possible options and potential risks of any given action.
My concern with John McCain is that he will be advised by lobbyists who will protect their particular interests above all else and we will see precious little change. At his age and with the stress of that job, I am also concerned as to his ability to serve a full four years. The thought of Sarah Palin in the White House is too frightening to consider. The world has enough religious zealots - we don't need one more.

So I will vote for the man who I believe will bring careful consideration to any decision he makes and will be willing to call in specialists to advise him on the topic at hand. In a job that no one can truly say they are experienced for until they've done it, being able to accept smart advice is a key ability any president needs. I don't care what color he is.

This election has never been about race or gender for me. Hillary Clinton earned my support, and I still believe she is best equipped for the job, but Obama won the nomination. In choosing between McCain and Obama, I must support the man I think has the most integrity, because experience is nothing if it is used for the wrong reasons. McCain has shown his true, hypocritical colors. Barack Obama has shown intelligence and honesty, therefore, he has my vote. I'm a white woman, for the record.

To goldmaster5, your opinion just goes to prove that whites in this country are as racist now as they were then.So what you put 20 years in the guard. My father was in an all negro regimen that liberated parts of paris, france during wwII. Look at that, my BLACK father fought for this country and was still segregated. Listen to the ignorance of your comments. "When they are given the reins of power destroy the system by infighting. Look at the country of Africa" Let's look at the country of Africa. If you would read more, you would have been informed that Africa is a very rich and resourceful country. That is why WHITES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD PLUNDERED IT. Whites made the country what is is today. And for giving us the reign of power. Where? Show me what you are talking about. Affirmative Action is an entitlement. You mean to tell me to get a fair shake a the same good education that white americans have enjoyed for years is an entitlement? How dare you. Your statement told me that equal education for blacks is something that has to be given to me instead of me being entitled to it by my right as a human being. How dare you. What blacks have you been around that whines? How do you know? Do you live with blacks? Do you interact with blacks in their neighborhoods? How do you know? Many of these comments on this post is absurd. Black people have been voting for white presidents since they were allowed to vote. Remember, blacks were being denied to the right to vote by intimidation, harrassment, vandalism, murder. They were white people we were voting for and they instutionalized us the same way. My family is just as much hard workers as yours. When you live like a black, and go through the issues and causes like blacks, then you can tell me how blacks are. I have been voting for white men since I was of age. Now I am voting for a black man, SO WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You didn't get this pissed off, when we voted for Gore and was denied HIS presidency. What's the deal now? Negroes are simply incapable of behaving civilized. If I am correct, wasn't it your white president that went into this war without the approval of congress. The destablization of Russia is of white skin, are they not considered civilized. My so-called music? Wasn't Elvis your king? Your rock and roll don't talk about love and peace. You are an ignorant person. If blacks were as lazy as you make us out to be....we would not be talking about Mr. Obama at this very moment. And for all of you people that says Mr. Obama is not black but mixed, ask his wife how she labels herself and their children. You whites in America should be ashamed of yourselves, to still have this type of racist attitudes and prejudices that has crippled this country for generations. You talk about equality but don't want true equality. If I want to vote for Obama because he looks like me,....SO WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You didn't whine when I voted for Clinton.

I am not black and I am not stupid....We already are in a depression...read the newspapers, watch the news and it's all over the net. We are holding EMERGENCY sessions in Capitol Hill...ALL BUSH!!! The "issues" are all Bush's doing....WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER BUSH! God help us if McCain turns out to be our new leader. Obama will have to go in and clean up Bush's mess & it will not be easy, but he can do it. McCain will die trying and then we will be worse off with Palin as our President.....What a Joke!

Boo Hoo Waaaaaaaaaaa! I'm a thug that never voted before and if I don't get my way the first time I vote I'm going to burn down the place. Good to see the panzy's have so much clout. Thought everyone wanted a strong America. America can't be strong if her people aren't. If you look to government for help then you will never be strong. Socialism has a long history of a weak people with a few leaders on the top making out. It has never worked in the global economy. No Thanks Barry.

Why is everything broken down by race?? I considered McCain because of his experience, but he has been proven a liar and a charlatan who will do anything to anybody to win. I do not have the greatest of confidence in either candidate given the situation that the Republicans have created over the years. The nations problems can be traced all the way to our first Republican president who wanted a powerful central government and destroyed The consititution of the United States and the Bill of Rights to get it by fighting a long and blood civil war,. Nixon finished the gold standard that controlled the amount of money the government could print and beginning with Ronald Reagan we have had vast deficits and war. I grew up in Minnesota in a mult-ethnic, multi-racial environment,. I do use the N word but have far more words for white-trach peckerwoods. Obama is the only hope that the nation has. I hope he is elected and prevents a total collapse and the blood bath that will ensue. God Help us

I'm a white woman 77 years old from Arizona. America, please vote for Obama!! Why McCain's history with the Keating 5 is not brought up puzzles me. He was so in the middle of that Savings & Loan scandal and now nothing is said about it except on Air America Radio. We will all suffer with McCain in there and what will happen to us if Palin becomes president?? Friends say they will have to take up Citizenship in Canada if Obama doesn't win. VOTE FOR OBAMA, PLEASE!!

It's great that this election is getting more people to register and vote this coming November 4th. But I really wonder - do all these new registree's realize the "real" time to vote was at the caucases and primaries? The popular presidential vote in November means absolutely NOTHING, only the electorials matter and it's been long past the time to make a difference. It will be great for local & state elections but that's it.

  • Posted By: AgainstIgnorance @ 09/28/2008 2:04:17 PM

So we should decide who should be president of the United States based on the man or woman's race? We do not care about his or her character, experience, credentials, etc? Nothing else matters except if he or she is the correct race? This is all this article states. I don't care if the candidate is purple or green as long as he or she has the ability to lead and defend this country. Furthermore, this article is stating that if Obama does not win that it is assured that some kind of trickery at the polls has ensued. Why do we always have to assume this is the case? If it happens, then let us investigate and correct it; but let us not immediately assume that it WILL happen. This is really sad that this is what it has come to. If a person has the credentials, then I will happily vote for him or her. I truly do not care what race or gender he or she is.

  • Posted By: annette2006 @ 09/28/2008 2:04:16 PM

The article was a bit racist itself. First of all, I don't see Obama as a black man. He is half black, half white. I don't think people should identify him as one or the other. It doesn't matter if he is green and half woman, half man, gay, etc. Who cares! He is an "American" who is running for office, period!!!!! It makes you wonder who the real racist are in this country.
Secondly, why would blacks be so angry if he loses and call it shady any more than if someone else loses? This nonsense needs to stop. I don't think Obama got where he is today by continuing this cycle of racist talk and behavior and I think it is a real shame that the black community brings him down this way. It's great that the black person identifies with his skin color, but take a lead and lesson from the non black skinned people in this country....what do you think they are identifying with....it's not his skin color! This is where Obama has the knowledge and sense to see past the black and white issue, and it's time blacks began to join in as an American, not an Afro American, etc. and stop the racism on yourselves.

All of this Barack Obama Mania is just another example of Liberal Minded Democrats pushing and promoting a presidential candidate based on deception and false hopes for those who are gullible enough to fall for all the hype about the big changes Obama will supposedly bring to this country. Most Black Americans will be voting for Obama based on his skin color and the fact they believe he is of African-American descent, when the Real Truth is that Barack Hussein Obama is actually Arab-American, with only a very tiny percentage of Black Blood running through his veins. All of those who truly believe that Obama is the Chosen Savior of the American people should do some research into the Real background of this man, before voting blindly for someone who is not being totally honest about the facts. It's pretty mind boggling and scary to know that there are so many people in America who can be so easily deceived and convinced by a Smooth Talker who would say or do nearly anything, just to be elected as President of the USA. Hopefully the American people will wake up before it's too late and realize Obama is an Over Hyped, Smooth Talking Phony.

  • Posted By: joenorris @ 09/28/2008 2:02:21 PM

Let's turn the argument around. What if McCain wins? Oh, that' just racist. With black people voting for Obama 97 -1, that's NOT racist? What if white people voted for McCain 97-1. The black community would be up in arms about white racism. The real story is. "Why are so many white people voting for a black man?" The answer of course from whites is "because race doesn't matter to us." Unfortunately, is matters to most blacks and the Democrats and liberal media continue to drive the wedge between the races. Turn your arguments around and see how silly you look.
