'What if Obama loses' and the Republicans remain in office is a problem that we will all have to face.

kars...you have got to be kidding yourself! You stated, "He won't be another Bush, that's just desperate rhetoric from all the racist blacks and left wing nut cases."

I can guarantee you that Bush and McCain are one of the same. Now, they're not too stupid in thinking that if McCain tries to seperate himself from the white super power and down troddened Bush (wacker), their party may prevail.

NEWSFLASH...not all people are that ignorant.

All McC and Bush can think about is being the number one world's super power. It's been the lust of Republicans for decades. It doesn't matter to them who gets hurt in the process. The most powerful and wealthy power in the world has been slowly dropping to its knees under this present regime and if you haven't seen that then there is no hope for you.

Most Americans, many homeless and bankrupt now and middle class holding onto what is left of their middle class status would attest to the injuries that have suffered under the guise of the present administration.
Our children's education, healthcare, housing, economy, infra structure, dignity, reputation, environment, and the list is endless has suffered by the likes of the Republicans.
It is time, right now, to take back this country with the guidance and care of Obama. Open your eyes and look around. Not everyone enjoys the luxuries the CEO's and present politicians have been enjoying at our expense.

Please make the right decision...before you pull the curtain closed!

I will make the decision I feel is right. Not the same as your decision, but you can believe I've read and studied the issues as much, or probably more than anyone here. I truly believe that Obama is conning us to a degree. Witness how many people he's has to "distance" himself from, since he became a serious contender. Which is the real person, the one before the national spotlight, or the one before, sitting in a black separatist church?
I have to go with my gut on this one. Obama turns to his left or he turns to his right, rarely straight on to the camera. Someone has told him he appears better from the side. He is all appearances and smooth talk, bottom line: I don't trust him, wouldn't buy a used car from him, and won't vote for him.
I'm a fellow okie, though. Peace.

I am a white woman who will be voting for Barack Obama, not because he is Black, but because he is the best candidate for President. He is intelligent, articulate, compassionate and cares about the people (hence his community activism as a young man). I have a son who has never voted (He is 40) because he feels "what's the use," and he is white. So it is not a problem in just the Black community. I am absolutely terrified if the other candidate wins or worse yet his so called running mate. He is a warmonger, spiteful (just watch the first debate and the way he treated Barack), condescending and there are many things in his past that are dishonest, unethical and untrue.
I hope I am part of history in voting for the first Black President of this country, but more so I want to be part of history voting for the right person for the job, who can change some things in this country and in Washington specifically, who cares about his country and his beautiful family. I don't see a Black man when he speaks, I see a good man

    • Posted By: rlp777 @ 09/28/2008 11:42:33 AM

As to McCain being a warmonger, let me ask you a question. Who would you rather have as a bodygurd protecting you? Someone packing a gun or someone who wants to negotiate?
As to Sarah Palin. I don't know much about her executive experience, but she at least has some.

      • Posted By: TheVigil @ 09/28/2008 2:01:58 PM

I'd rather have someone who wants to negotiate.

If my bodyguard eagerly shoots somebody and kills him/her, we're both up on murder charges, spending good portions of our lives and incomes on lawyer fees, bail money, etc.

If my bodyguard calms somebody down before they attack, none of that happens.

        To me, you sound scared.

I'm tired of everything being about race when we're suppose to look beyond color and at the person and their experience and accomplishments. If Obama doesn't win, the majority of PEOPLE, black, white, Asian or Latino, think he wasn't up for the job. It has nothing to do with blacks being treated unfairly as Mr. Hughley suggests.

  • Posted By: Vote4Change @ 09/28/2008 2:01:00 PM

WHO CARES IF HES BLACK??? He is the best candidate in the race.
Quote: "You think white people were just going to turn over the keys to the most important job in the land without a fight?"
Racist comments like this are just going to make the white population less likely to vote for him. Its not helping. Whites that are voting for Obama do NOT care what color he is. Those that are not voting for him just because he is black are racist *** and you are not going to change their minds in a month. And if McCain wins maybe it will be a race issue but probably not. What about when Bush stole the election from Gore or Kerry? They weren't black and it still happened. QUIT MAKING IT A RACE ISSUE!!!!! I WANT CHANGE WE ALL DO!!! Quit whining about color and get out there and help the man campaign. Get the word out in a positive way. Talk to EVERYONE...And leave race out of it.. He has plenty of other qualities worth discussing.
    VOTE OBAMA 'O8
by the way....Im white and I don't care if hes purple

  • Posted By: Inkblot74 @ 09/28/2008 2:00:40 PM

Anyone who votes for someone because of the color of thier skin is a RACIST. The issues are what matter.

  • Posted By: ashamed to be black @ 09/28/2008 2:00:21 PM

What a childish article. What IF the white people decide to riot and protest if McCain or someone else wins?
Come on...grow up. This isnt about black vs white..its about experience vs inexperience. Doesnt it seem to degrade the black race when people openly admit they vote for him JUST because hes black??? Im ashamed of this article and what it says about the black poplulation in general...give us more credit than this...we ARE mature people and will make the best of whatever happens!!!!

I am a Democrat and have followed politics very closely for a decade. I was worried about Gore v. Bush. Very worried about Kerry v. Bush. I am not worried at all about Obama v. McCain. Obama will win.

LOL I love how people think anything will change with either of these two in the White House.

Obama will not have enough money to do even a fraction of the things he has promised and McCain will not be able to give the tax cuts he is promising....all because of our billion dollar bail outs! And if you think this bail out is going to fix anything short term...well then I suppose you are dumb enought to believe either of these two and their "change" message.

I get very annoyed when I read articles that make this election about race. Black or white, man or woman, this is the future of our country, our children, as well as our safety and financial well-being. We should be looking the candidates' experience, honesty, integrity, and their vision -- and don't listen to the campaign advertisements because the Republicans are clearly twisting the truth. Honesty is important to me and I believe that Obama is trying to run a clean campaign. Read unbiased biographies of the candidates on the internet. Find out what they've accomplished and the exposure they've had to government and foreign policy issues. Then, think of the candidates as a team. If the Presidential candidate does not have experience in one critical area, read to see if the Vice Presidential candidate has that experience ??? their experience should compliment one another. I am a neutral on party affiliation and vote for who I believe will serve our country best. I have read these biographies, and I can tell you that the Obama/Biden team has the experience we need as a "team". I am a white woman hold no bias. When we started the campaign, I didn't care if a man, woman won the election and I certainly don???t care about race. I only care about the experience, integrity, and honesty they bring to the table. I care that the Bush administration managed to take a country that was thriving and bring it down to complete financial distress. I admit that the dot.com bust and 9/11 happened during his first term, but we've had 7 years to recover and where are we now? Poor management and decisions brought this country into financial despair. In fact, it's hard for me to understand how the staunch Republicans can honestly believe that the McCain/Palin candidates will make the changes that we need to get "our" country back on track. Sarah Palin had to have been nominated because she's a feisty woman ??? not based on experience or integrity. With her gender, wit, and attractiveness aside, she just does not have the experience or integrity to manage our country. (In fact, I???m shocked that animal activists aren???t creating ads over her anti-animal rights beliefs and practices.) Obama has a strong team member in Biden with years of experience in managing government and foreign policy. So, let's keep focused on what the country needs and not be biased by race or gender. This is our chance to make a difference and guide our own futures by selecting candidates who are "qualified" to manage this country as a "team". We are part of that "team" so we need to choose good team members. Read the biographies and see for yourself. Just google them on the internet and you will find many resources. Wikipedia has an extensive biography on each candidate. The information is enlightening. Also, a comment to I44Independent, Barack Obama is Christian ??? but that shouldn???t make a difference anyway

I can't believe DL Hughley says his kids think he's the obvious choice. Others ask about saggy pants or cornrows. These are the people who want to elect the leader of the free world?? This whole article demonstrates racism ib reverse. Obama is an empty suit!

  • Posted By: johnandcindy987 @ 09/28/2008 1:59:11 PM

As a young college graduate Obama worked for the people. Obama is highly intelligent and he is quick to pick up on what needs to be done in our country. As his knowledge of any one subject increases, he quickly figures out better ways to approach and follow through on any given situation. If elected, he will be one of the "Greatest Presidents" in American history. My vote is for Obama, but if he doesn't win, we are the losers, and it is as God wills. God Bless America with all good. God bless Obama with all good. Vote Obama 2008.

  • Posted By: CruJones @ 09/28/2008 1:59:00 PM

So basically, this article and those interviewed have told us that if Obama doesn't win, the racist, white Americans got together and ensured he lost. Wow, that is one impressive feat and an awful lot of credit. Nice to see that Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell still mean nothing to the black community. I guess unless you can get the Snoop Dogg ex-con and gang member vote, you are not black enough. What a shame...

  • Posted By: Jredjess @ 09/28/2008 1:58:17 PM

In my opinion as a white person if the black community reacts violently toward Obama not being elected. All the progress that has been made will be for nothing and just give people a reason to believe stereotypes. I think that the black community is being naive if they think that all your problems are going to go away if Obama's elected.

With all the political posters out there one must ask this question:
    McCain & Palin
    Obama and Biden
"Which sounds most like Osama bin Laden's preference?"

  • Posted By: baseballride351 @ 09/28/2008 1:56:48 PM

RASCISM????????? It will never go away..... It doesn't matter what color you are, everyone wants to be different. With that in mind, difference causes us to flock to others, that are like to ourselves. Yes, a few may branch out but they do so taking up the others styles and beliefs. I am white and worked in the Air Force. I was working in the dining facility. During which 30 out of 32 were American African. I experienced rascism on several instances. I will not lie it hurt, and some of them I thought were my friends. The bottom line is this, either embrace it or stay in denile. If we were all black we would fight amongst ourselves just like gang members and tribes. If we were all white we would fight amongst ourselves as thieves and white callored criminals with $ in our eye's......

  • Posted By: Knight7 @ 09/28/2008 1:56:03 PM

This article is awesome. Black people~ listen up!!!! Barack Obama is NOT going to "take care of you" if he is elected. HE IS A POLITICIAN! His loyalties lie with his fellow Democrats and they're fat-cat friends, not the men and women in the black community. I fear IF he is elected, THAT will be a bigger let-down for blacks than if he simply loses to McCain. NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE FOR YOU IF HE WINS! It's a shame that after all these years, people will still only vote for someone because of the color of his skin. And I'm referring to the black community, not the white community. Why do I say this? Because there are millions of white supporters for Obama. THEY ARE COLOR-BLIND. The black community is not. They will only vote for Obama.

No way I will vote for a socialist
