Why is this article trying to make us look like ignorant children? We know what an election is, and we know that someone wins and someone loses.

This should not be about race. What if I were to say that I am voting for Mccain because he is white like me. That would make me A racist.
AS A REPLY TO "WORKING CLASS HOOLIGAN"
YOU SEEM TO THINK THAT THE POOR HAVE NO CHOICE IN BEING POOR. they do. being poor is a decision made daily by millions of people. their vices and inability to hold a steady job, get educated, realize they are down and out & etc are their own problems. i am a lowly ca. teacher, so im not the top one percent. but i can tell you from a thing called "linear thought and reasoning" you know, the things that the "kids in college" dont want to take? well it turns out that if you actually get to the root problem, which takes some ten minutes of actual calorie burning thinking, that you will surmise this:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------the government has loads of programs to pay for low income people to (1) survive (2) get a job (3) get an education. if this isnt opportunity then i dont know what is. what makes you think that the poor deserve a high paying job? being is poor is a situation, not a socio-economic foundering. the poor haev televisions right? that means that if they watch them then they can see the opportunity all around them. all they ahve to do is make one decision every day. and that is: i am going to make my life better. and that doesnt mean that they go right out and succeed right? no, that means that now they have to change their lives at home and in themselves first. ............change the way they use english.....................save money.....................use that saved money to move out of the poor areas. stop haveing children, or make sure you teach them to value education and rules...............otherwise america has no use for the poor other than to get useless candidates elected.------------------you must not be a student of history or you would know that when you espouse the poor like julius ceasar did in rome, the government cant stand for long.
You can't be serious! People CHOOSE to born into poverty? Why on earth would anyone CHOOSE to be poor? They are BORN into poverty, receive a substandard education, get lousy job, because all of the descent paying jobs are reserved for the middle and upper classes who received better educations and had more opportunities in life. When you say people CHOOSE to be poor you just show how ignorant and out of touch with reality that you really are.
8 More years of conservative Republican rule? It will bring this country to it's knees. The Middle Class will be gone. We will likely be at war with Iran, then Russia. Not for this guy. The expat thing looks better and better. 6 Milliion plus Americans might have the right idea. All those good American Republican voters have got their heads in the sand. Kiss you freedoms goodbye.
I was curious why the black community feels they need to vote for Obama and not McCain?
From what I read above they are only voting because he is a African -White America
This article makes me sick to my stomach. I cannot believe that in 2008, black Americans will vote for a Presidential Candidate ONLY on the basis of the color of his skin. This is racism to the ultimate degree!! Most black Americans DO NOT care what Obama's politics are. They do not care what McCain's politics are. They see a black man with a chance at the presidency and all logic goes out the window. Could one argue that it is a typical "black" reaction to have NO interest in politics until a black man is involved, based on the content of this article? Seems to me that all this article is really saying is that race issues have made about ZERO progress in the last 50 years or so.
If you knew better than to believe this article and all the other stupid stereotyped things written about African Americans by people who have no real indepth knowlege of our race, then you wouldn't be sick. Educate yourself. Don't buy into the stereotypes propelled by racist America.
News flash, if obama losesmYou can trade you're T Shirt in for a forty..............
NICE!! ilove it... very funny
My frustration with the American public is so few people are willing to really do the homework needed to make a logical decision. Americans are too easily duped because too many want to believe what they want to believe inspite of the facts. I love how Palin says she ended the "Bridge to Nowhere" when she was actually its biggest support and was forced to end the project--but she did allow the contractors to keep the money though the infrastructure was not completed. Her position is public record--you can find it in Alaskan news from 2006--if some one really wanted the facts and not just a political stunt. We Americans have allowed the political system to become as corrupt as it is because we refuse to do our own homework. We let mainstream media commercials or, worse still, let pastors, ministors and priests tell us what to believe. The only way to make American strong again is to become strong within--become well-read and educated, volunteer, and quit watching TV and spending on credit. What we all are doing is not working. We have sold ourselves out to foreign creditors and are leaving a disastor for our children.
I think the media influences uneducated black people the most., If they see that the media coverage is favoring McCain, then they might think that whether they voted or not, it wouldnt count. We need community organizers to keep people focused and believe that "We can do anything, if we just try". The power is in OUR hands. CHANGE NEEDS TO HAPPEN - AND OBAMA IS DEFINITELY CHANGE. The bottom line is that the Republicans had their chance in Washington and it was NOT successful, it's time for a CHANGE!!!
do i see alittle bit of racism here. are all blacks for obama just because he is black? if he does not win does that mean people did not vote for him because he is black or more for not agreeinf with his ideals.. also, jacon richmond says he is fired up to vote for him. i did not think felons could vote.
"Comment: Why is he Barack Hussein Obama instead of just Barack Obama? Do you go around calling everyone by their middle names?"
Why are you butt hurt because he has a Muslim name?
Why was it John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Why was it Richard Milhous Nixon
Why was it Gerald Rudolph
Why was it Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Why are you ashamed of his name ?
I love how these white idiots who know a few black people and probably don't even know those very well, feel qualified to make these braod proclamations (hans_krugger) about black folks. These simple minded, unsubstantiated rantings go a long way toward fostering the divisiveness that already permeates our country. White republicans should stick to analyzing George Bush and Rush Limbaugh, people of their own ilk.
Bad idea, to think future and negative. Think only present and positive. Don't think in half this and half that! In a political spoken belief, only speak red, white, blue -- American. To think otherwise, you make yourself an outsider, like an Irish or a Swede. In politics, stay positive, American and get on with today. Don't loose your faith. Signed, White Guy who wished he had a Black Friend.
During the recent presidential debate , I noticed that McCain never looked at Obama. I Think he is a racist and a worst neoconservative then others we know.
Yes we can! Do not forget this, and stop putting that negative junk out there..Let go of the slave mentality and get out and vote! Also, encourage everyone you know or come in contact with to register, and get out and vote..This is a new America, an America that wants change, not more of the same..Do not alienate/slam any of Obama's supporters..Yes we can, all of us united together..
"What if he loses? How should people respond?"
The correct answer is: The same way they have always responded if they voted for the losing party.
Daetwon Fisher: There is no reason for you to be any more mad than anyone else whose candidate choice ever lost. If you don't agree, then you are racist. Grow up and try to handle it like an adult, regardless of color.
If Obama wins, do you think all the whites should go out and start riots and protests?
Absurd.
How quick some are to embrace "a leader" who is only a fraction of the race they claim themselves to be! The others who have commented that this is should not be about race are right...afterall, B.Obama is not a black man, neither is he a white man. What fightens me the most about BO is his desire to use his darker skin to advance his own agenda and ego.
The rudeness he exhibited as a junior senator calling Senator McCain by his first name repeatedly (did you catch the times he called McCain, Tom?) during Friday's debate was not done out of ignorance...it was a calculated sign/symbol in "black brother talk" which is more proof of the chip on his shoulder (almost as big as Michele's) that will stand in the way of him being a good leader for this diverse country.
I don not think that race should play a role in anyone's decision when it comes to choosing a leader for our country. I would be very upset if Obama were to lose. But that would be because the American people failed to act in order to create change, not because a black man failed to get elected. Obama is a great leader who has done his part to unite a torn nation. Now it is our turn to step-up and do our part!!! Register to vote and make a difference!
