What If Obama Loses?

The Presidential election should Not be about what the color of the candidate's skin is! Everyone should be voting for a President that can lead this country to be the best it can be, in every aspect! Americans, ESPECIALLY the Press, need to STOP making the election about black or white!

This is what happens when you field a candidate based on his race. Are black Americans so naive to think they can just get any wingnut elected on his skin color and then try to make the rest of the country feel guilty because we didn't want him as President? Here's a clue my fellow Americans, put a good candidate out there who the majority likes and you'll get him elected. As long as you put up candidates who only appeal to your issues, you're more likely to lose. Hint: Louisiana has a Governor who isn't white and he isn't black. He beat a woman incumbent and was asked about being Vice President which he turned down. He didn't get elected on his race and he's not in office fighting to get his race more rights. He's doing his job and doing it well.

if obama loses it is because he lost. nothing will have been stolen from him. life is this country is hard for everyone at times; balck, white, male or female. the nation has come a long way and there are plenty of men (black or white) and women (black or white) in positions of power never thought possible. give me a break already. i think we should all be sure we are voting for what we believe in and i never thought the color of a person's skin could become something to believe in. if obama's wife was white, i bet he would lose some of his black supporters. so how much do you really believe in him or is it simply what he represents?

Why are you voting for Obama?

This country wonders why it will never reach its potential. As long as something as simple as race is an issue, The country will never move forward. it is always Black vs White in this country. It is as if other races don't exist. What will it take to get past this?

Well, maybe it's time for people to take back their government. By any means necessary. I'll bet if some gangstas turned political and showed up at the polls on Election Day looking like Black Panthers, all votes would get counted this time.

I cannot believe that so many people still believe it is a white vs. black issue. Do whites really feel that a black president will not look after them? I don't think so. So why is it that blacks that think a white president will not take care of their needs? There are many black leaders around the country that our well respected. It just proves to me that as long as people continue to keep brining up the race card, we as a society will never get to get past that blacks will always claim foul when they do not get their way. If blacks made it a point to get involved more than they do or have in the past, things would be different for them. this is a democracy and I have personally witnessed when a people are oprressed for race, sex, religion during my 10 year carreer in the U.S. Army. People need to stop complaining and go out and work hard and learn what is needed to keep this country working towards peace and prosperity. This presidential election is no different than any other in the recent past. It is an agruement on how to make the people vote in their favor. This is not a election based on race, it is an election based on government corruption and individual responsibility and how to get the country back on the right track from all the mistakes that have been made by both parties and have used George Bush as their scapegoat. One man cannot have all the poer that is why there are three branches of the government to allow for checks and balances. I think that if Obama loses whites and blacks alike will both have to accept it as will blacks and whites will if McCain loses. Politicians can say whatever they want, but who really knows who is best for our precious country.

This is a ridiculous article. Very racist, implies that a black person would vote for someone just because they are black. That is just as stupid as all of those who say women will vote for any woman on the ticket because they are female, insulting. I am a white 51 year old female and I am voting for Obama. Just use your heads, and evaluate the candidates on their own merits, and then vote! Enough already about race and gender!

I didn't think convicted criminals could vote ! I see in the article that convicts are registering to vote, if Democrats want a fair election that will not be questioned later the Democratic Party needs to discourage illegal voting.

I will be proud to say that America has her first black President and now it's time for us all to come together and give him his chance at fixing some of the problems that we all face. Biden is the ONLY one qualified

I don't see Barrack Obama's campaign or his drive for the Presidency as a "black/white" thing. We "white people" are not fighting hard to keep a black man from winning the presidency. That is a racist attitude unto itself. Barrack Obama draws support from many people in this nation of all races. As a 37 year-old white man who supports Barrack Obama for President I see a man who is the most talented, thoughtful, and intelligent of the two candidates and who represents a chance at real change. The fact he is black doesn't enter the equation for me. I am hesitant to give anyone the "keys of power", and it isn't based on their race, it's based on their platform, ideas, background experience, and their potential to be a good president.

I will vote for an African-American he or she agrees with my political views. As of right now? Barack Obama is not that person. I would not have voted for Hillary Clinton, either. Should I have, just because I am a woman? I think not. Anyone who gets angry over a possible loss needs to remember that not all Americans are racist, and MOST will not be voting on race. Do you think we're that ignorant?
