I am a white European married to an American Hispanic who like many poor kids in New York City did not have a lot of things going for them. But he paid attention in school and did his best without any guidance or complaints. He is now retired with a rich career and a Masters Degree behind him. I have never heard him say that we need a president in office who will support or take care of less fortunate people like him. He did it all on his own by making the right choices. America is truly the country where you can achieve anything you set your mind to. This is why I don???t understand the pack mentality of the majority blacks who vote solely based on color ??? what does color have anything to do with the presidential race or any other job for that matter? It has to do with whether you have the experience or not required to do that job. And what is a black president suppose to do for them that they cannot do for themselves?? By the way, my husband is republican and I am VERY proud of him because he is a good example of what America is all about i.e. it???s all up to the individuals to make something out of themselves and not the government.

Ok, I'm leaving this for now. My postings may say 11am in the morning, but I'm on the west coast and it's only 8:22am, so in a way, it's just too early for this type of conversation. I will leave you all with this, "stop thinking about race, it's not important. What is important who can run this country, who can get us out of the mess we're in overseas and who will keep a cool head doing it?" Obama is the only one not losing his temper...

Maybe the both of you owned a plantion in a past life. I hope people are as kind to you as you are to them. You are living in the past my friend. I think you should stay away from children, your own and anyone elses. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth, poor women.

I have watched the relations between blacks and whites go down hill since this election. There have been news articles, blogs, radio talk shows, news shows, etc, so blatantly racist I was shocked. For white people or black people to believe African Americans are voting for Obama JUST because he is black is to say African Americans are stupid people. I am African American and I hold a Masters in Forensic Studies. I am far from stupid. All these comments posted about race and blacks makes other people in other countries see who Americans really are. For one our own government wants us to pay for the mistakes of some vary rich and greedy people, but we continue to bash each other about race. No matter who becoames president, people around the world have lost respect for the U.S. All of you who commented watch a little CNN, MSNBC, or world news and see what people really think about how Americans are reacting to the economic crisis and each other. If we are Real Americans, why are we fighting each other. Any enemy knows if you can get them to fight each other, it will be easy to take over. In-house fighting is very dangerous. Our country weakens by the day and all you people think about is the color of a man's skin. What does that say about you?

I'm starting to think that the author of the article must be a White Supremist kicking up dust and we are all eating it. Stop speculating, ragister to vote, make your voice count and let the process work. Lincoln and the thousands of souls who gave up their lives to get us here must be proud. Follow Obama's and McCain's example; blood and sweat for America! Vote! Vote! Vote!... and be an American. No hand-outs!

In the Anglo-American community, the thinking on McCain's candidacy has gone something like this: In the beginning, there was disbelief that a white man could become president. Then, when McCain became the Republican nominee and soared in the polls, listeners were concerned for his safety. Now that the race with John McCain is as tight, people have started to worry about Election Day itself. There is still a fair amount of optimism in the white community, but it's being tempered by two words: what if. What if McCain loses? How should people respond? What should they feel? It's a common election-season concern, but it's all the more acute in the Anglo-American community, where more people are paying attention to the campaign???and planning to vote???than ever. Managing expectations and reactions has become Topic A in many white homes and on blogs such as Angry White Male. "People that I know that have never cared about politics are registering to vote this time: gang members, ex-cons, you name it," says rapper Wonder Bread Home Slice. "I hate to see a lot of that hope go down the drain, and if he loses, it will."

Racism, naturally, plays a part in the conversation. "I've never forgotten that he is a smart, articulate white man with a smart, articulate white wife," says Julie Smith, 34, a legal assistant from Chicago. "You think white people were just going to turn over the keys to the most important job in the land without a fight?" The overriding feeling is apprehension, a vague fear of losing something people thought was theirs to keep. "My kids love McCain and they think it's so obvious he should be the president," says actor G. T. Johnson. "I was just honest in saying life isn't always fair and certainly isn't always fair for Anglo-Americans. But McCain has overcome so many obstacles, it's easy to forget reality."

There's not a lot of anger???yet???but you can start to sense the potential for it. "I'm going to be mad, real mad, if he doesn't win," says Jerry Simpson, 31, a roofer from Orlando, Florida. "Because for him to come this far and lose will be just shady and a slap in white people's faces. I know there is already talk about protests and stuff if McCain loses, and I'm down for that."

Simpson's comment about something vaguely "shady" echoes a common concern that the election will somehow be stolen from McCain rather than won. "I know a lot of things can stop McCain from winning, and it's not just lack of votes," says Jake Rivera, 26, a UPS driver from Boston. One caller to Kratz's show wanted to know how he could vote if he didn't have a permanent address. Another asked if someone could legally be turned away from the polls for wearing plaid shirts or overalls. Nothing is being taken for granted. Kratz is asking white lawyers to volunteer to patrol polling stations on Nov. 4. Several white talk-show hosts have started advising listene

What exactly in specific words do "black people" think Obama is going to give them or do for them, that they cannot do for themselves? Please enlighten me.

Please sit down and look into how Barack is going to fund education, infrastructure, and healthcare. With more tax dollars from YOU! Not the hollywood elite that are giving thousands to his campain. They can simply move overseas or move their money there. Will you be able to do that?

If Obama does not win this election it will not be because he is half black. It will be because the democrats do not properly articulate their position and allow the republicans to once again scare brainless voters into thinking the democrats will raise THEIR taxes and demonstrate no real leadership. I am a white (a shade of pink actually) man who is voting for Obama and I wish Blacks would quit bringing this down to race.

Great, people only voting for him because he's black. Sad. Just how big is that chip on your shoulder?

If only Obama had chosen a certain minority running mate to his historic nomination this article would not have been written. Now he may - or may not - die by his owm sword.

I agree that MSN is so liberal and plays tricks such as strategically placing videos and pictures to promote Obama. This article is another biased scare tactic against McCain/Republicans. The premise is the terrible things that the blacks will do if Obama doesn't get elected. MSN will try anything. I taught chemistry and other sciences in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and I can tell you in total honesty that Obama is a Muslim. IF he is elected, you can bet that you will pay by giving away our country. It is not about governing with sound judgement, it is about getting a black in office. What you will also get is a Muslim.

I am a white, well-educated, middle class, small town living, middle aged, female. I will be saddened deeply if Barack Obama does not win. I am 47 years old and it will be one of the biggest disappointments of my life. I have campaigned for him for almost a year now. I admire his intellect, his knowledge of constitutional law, his love for his wife and daughters, the fiscal responsibility exhibited in his campaign, the manner in which he treats the campaign workers and volunteers, his courage in the face of the fear mongers and racist ignorance in this country, his ability to succeed against many odds, and his willingness to listen and engage others. My support for him is solid and unshakeable. It is based upon hours of studying his policies, reading his books, listening to his speeches, gathering with others to compare and contrast his plans with the problems our country faces. If America lets the opportunity to elect this truly great man slip away, it will be one of our worst hours. That said, I believe strongly that this country will rise to the occasion and elect Barack Obama.

you will be saddened more when he takes more of your money to support people who are too lazy to work.

As a white male with a child of both races, I am disappointed that racism has to enter this election. My question is why should an entire segment of our country vote for a man, only because of the color of his skin? Does that really make him the best candidate for president? If Obama wins your happy, if not you riot/demonstrate. What will that say about our nations perception of black america? There is already enough negativeism regarding race relations, why add fuel to topic?

No candidate in modern history has ever commanded a 97% "Lock" on a demographic. Obama is polling at that level among the Black community. If the role's were reversed, we would be hearing despicable comments about "Racism".

I served on Submarines, in the U.S. Navy. IF we made decision's based on "Race", I and many others would be dead.

If Obama becomes President, the "ONLY" change message that would be sent, "Talk big, Take short cuts. Imply that anyone who argues with your positions is a racist, and become President of The United States of America"!!!

Oh and don't forget to get in ANY and ALL digs on Sarah Palin!

Now that is The American Dream.

Obama said there are 57 states. He is so smart and articulate.

Obama said that the surge failed. He is so smart and articulate.

Obama said "Change" is what he is about. He is so smart and articulate.

Obama said we need Biden to make that "Change" happen. He is so smart and articulate.

Obama stutters at the beginning of every sentance. He is so smart and articulate.

Obama said he opposes Bush on "EVERYTHING", He is so smart and articulate.

Obama said he is all for the 700 Billion Dollar "bailout". He is so smart and articulate.

Please explain; What does any of these issues have to do with RACE?

So, will the election be shady and stolen if McCain loses to Obama? Just because you/we want something doesn't mean it is shady if you don't get it. In the end, nothing will really change in this country anyway..it is politics and money. Rich and powerful get richer and more powerful; the lesser fortunate continue to be lesser fortunate. Is Obama suddenly going to make every "minority" better offf, more powerful or richer? Do you see how "white" his staff is, the people behind the game? We have to work and hope, but shady and time for revolt is not called for if he doesn't win. If that were true, then all women should be revolting now since Hillary didn't win. "Defintiely shady - right?" I do not think so...
