I am an independant who leans to the left. I would never insult John McCain or deny that John McCain loves this country. I do believe however that he is the wrong choice to lead us now. Our country has not ever been so seriously disabled by leadership than it has these last eight years. Obama can help bring America back to being what it was before bush. A true world leader. Any small mind that thinks a leader, talking to a country whose policies we disagree with is a terrorist, needs to understand that not all fights are won through war. This debacle in Iraq is an example of poor decisions made by weak men. The people that attacked this country were not Iraqis. The people that attacked this country are still loose. the leader of this country has let us down. It is time for change.

Yeah, Obama is the right choice, along with all his friends, Ayers, Rezko, Wright, Farrakhan, Khalidi, Bin Laden, Pfleger, Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Kim Jong-Il, and the Hamas terrorists.

Which Bin Laden moron? Do you even know that Bin Laden family is one of the most respected and powerful families in the Middle East, moreover has serious business with Bush family? How do people like you even know of the existence of the Internet?

        • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 4:37:24 PM

The one and only Bin Laden, you blind idiot! And, the other corrupt Supporters? Huh?

          • Posted By: your_mirror @ 10/03/2008 6:50:19 AM

Research People! Bottom line is the Bush and Bin Laden families have been in bed together for decades; ergo....more taxdpayer money is spent on the war in Iraq (ridiculous!) in a month than in Afghanistan (where Bin Laden is actually located!) in a year; Face it.....Mr. Bush & company is not really focused on locating the #1 terrorist; and "PigDog" nailed it with the comment: "..This debacle in Iraq i an example of poor decisions made by weak men..." . For the past 8 years, there have been THOUSANDS of poor decisions made by these same weak men; why waste time when their track records speak LOUDLY??? . Perfect dental work and a suit (or dress) worth a month's mortgage do not have a thing to do with making rational decisions! All of the major concerns of our great Country have come from blindly believing and following a few habitual liars, who keep us unbalanced by pitting us against each other!!! Open your eyes--- THE EMPEROR IS NAKED!!!!!!

    Go Eagles:

I completely agree that McCain is a hero. I just hope you were crying the same thing in 04 when the "other" party attacked another war hero when he was running for President.

    • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 4:34:21 PM

Kerry was no hero. He filled out his own recommendations for his medals. Do some research!

      • Posted By: bpellis @ 10/03/2008 6:35:55 AM

Jim, you are as ignorant as you are obnoxious. Is the "research" that you do limited to Newsmax, Drudge, Fox "News", and the Swift Boat Veterans for "Truthiness"--which has been thoroughly debunked and disgraced? Even your beloved John McCain came to Kerry's defense in 2004 over that. He did NOT fill out his own recommendations, and two Swift Boaters have since acknowledged they LIED about Kerry and regret it. Get your head out of your own ass!!!!

        • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/03/2008 8:04:52 AM

The truth to a libelal really hurts. I fully understand your problem. Pull your ignorant head out of Obama's ass and learn the truth. You nitwit!

Oh you mean the guy who spent four whole months in Vietnam and managed to get three Purple Hearts for injuries requiring nothing more than a bandaid? And then while still serving in the Navy Reserves, he illegally met with representatives of the North Vietnamese as part of his antiwar activism. Note, he was still a Lt. in the Navy at that time making it even more disgraceful. That guy was a lot of things, but a hero isn't one of them.

The link below contains a purported list of the top 25 in Congress who got contributions from the folks at Fannie and Freddie. Obama is listed third, after Dodd and Kerry, even though Obama is just a junior Senator. Obama is followed next by Clinton. Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi are on the list as well.

For an interesting article purporting to detail Barney Franks long history with Fannie Mae, See http://www.businessandmedia.org/printer/2008/20080924145932.aspx
???Democratic House Financial Services Committee Chair promoted GSEs while former 'spouse' was Fannie Mae executive.???

McCain's response: Nothing. That's is the absolute truth.

Sounds like more of the same.

Democratic Party looks out to hard working Americans in the interest of its survival. I am certain trillion-dollar tax breaks extended primarily to the tiny top of the ladder (I think I got 600 bucks) extensive warfare in middle east and continued reliance on foreign oil is doing of the Republican Party. These are not excuses but real causes for the meltdown so anyone loosing their home right now and having voted Republican anytime in the last 8 years deserves no sympathy.

    • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 4:33:20 PM

Obama looks out for Obama and his corrupt friends! What an idiot!

      • Posted By: benkrapf @ 10/02/2008 5:21:18 PM

Regardless of whatever corruption a politician is involved in, why would it surprise you that a politician would look out for his friends?

You act like McCain is the second coming. What has he shown or done to support your lofty estimation of him?

        • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 7:02:25 PM

No, Mccain is the first coming. Obama is the second coming, the Messiah, the saver of the whole world, the leader that wants to bring America down to the level of the rest of the world!

The reason that this country is in such a fix right now is because of people like you guys that are responding to this article. #1 McCain is not a "Saint". From marrying a women that is wealthy to every step in his career he as planned his rise. #2 He has never shyed away from taking money from important friends as well as his wife. So you all need to slap yourselves in the face and come into the light. #3 This is not his first time trying to get into the White House. He will say and do anything that will get him through the doors. The really sad thing about this man is that he has not one original thought of his own. His whole campaign he has taken every word out of Obama's mouth. He will say anything that he thinks will help him get elected.
But the truth to this whole thing is, if he manages to get elected after 8 years of dealing with "dumb ass" Bush! The America deserves to go broke. The third world countries that have gotten all our jobs should just come on over and divide the country up and share the spoils. We have done everything but given the actual country to them. That same hatred and bigotry is what held Mississippi back for so many years. That state is on the bottom of the pile when it come to progress. But keep voting the way you do and keep the hatred alive.

    • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 2:39:32 PM

I married a wealthy lady and I am 10 times the person you are. Get you head out of Obama's ass!

      • Posted By: dlivitia @ 10/02/2008 4:11:16 PM

Jim, no wealthy sane educated woman will be with guy like you for very long. There is so much better meat out there. My guess, and I am fairly certain, that you are unemployed fat lonely 40-50 yo male with possibility of high school diploma and maybe a mom who sends you some money once in a while living in Middle America in a house given to you by your dad and now owned by a bank. Now, tell me, why should anyone take you seriously?

        • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 4:40:07 PM

Obama and his stupid followers deserve no respect. They are a lost cause trying to destroy America!

        • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 4:45:09 PM

And, by the way idiot; I am 68 years old and my dear mom passed away. Why do you bring her into you filthy stupid comments? I am a retired manager from a major corporation who for twenty years supervised over 100 employees and was responsible for payroll of 10 Billion dollars a year 130,000 employees and retirees My department budget was over 10 million a year. I did graduate from high school about middle of my class and only had 2 years of night school college. And, how about you, idiot?

  • Posted By: jphil4986 @ 10/02/2008 6:57:35 PM

So a McCain advisor sold $15 thousand worth of consulting to Freddie Mac. The former CEO of Fannie Mae headed Obama's campaign committee to pick a VP. At least McCain co-sponsered a bill in 2005 to stop Freddie and Fannie from expanding. Democrats Chuck Schumer and Barnie Frank killed the bill. I wonder why Freddie's and Fannie's enablers on Wall Street have poured more of their money on Obama?

  • Posted By: IrishDragon @ 10/02/2008 12:26:51 PM

Why rely on "sources" who refuse to be named?
Also, why does NcCain constantly call himself a maverick and reminds us of being POW, as if he was the only captive at the Hanoi Hilton? Justg another egotistical liar.

RE:How about that Obama uses Fannie & Freddie CEO's (Jim Johnson & Franklin Raines) as advisors

LIE : Franklin Raines was never an advisor of Obama's. Another McCain LIE. Another racist tactic by McCain to be able to picture Obama with 'scary black guys' in his ads.

    • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 4:35:44 PM

You are the liar. He is Obama's top financial advisor. Accept the truth and live with it!

    • Posted By: Go Eagles @ 10/02/2008 3:27:57 PM

Why do people cry racism as a defense when they have no facts to stand on. Don't try to provoke racial antogonism. People can research for themselves.

  • Posted By: Nick S @ 10/02/2008 4:07:59 PM

That was 15 grand a month ill-spent. Isn't buying influence about paying a member of Congress to support the organization paying the money? Opps, McCain must have forgotten that because given his alleged bought and paid for influence he should have opposed the proposed 2005 legislation to rein in the corruption at Fannie and Freddie, not support that legislation as he did. Nice try.

Now go view the 2004 CSPAN tape of the Congressional hearings on Fannie and Freddie and watch real bought and paid for members of Congress in action as one democrat after another democrat assures the American public nothing is wrong at Fannie and Freddie and the corrupt CEO of Fannie, Franklin Raines, is a wonderful person. Never mind that the corrupt lending and ENRON-like accounting practices at Fannie under Raines leadership led to the funding of trillions of dollars of bad loans and an almost seven billion dollar overstatement of Fannie profits so he could receive his bonus of millions based on the profits Fannie reported because of these Enron-like accounting practices, yet those profit were bogus and non-existent.

Raines is an Obama advisor on, are you ready for this, housing. What a joke. Obama denies Raines is an advisor to his campaign even though that was reported in the Washington Post, hardly a support organization of the McCain-Palin ticket. Obama's campaign had requested on three separate occasions that the Washington Post print a retraction, and three times, at least up until now, the Washington Post has refused to print such a retraction. Looks like another questionable association Obama is trying to throw under the bus now as that association negatively impacts him or his campaign, ala Rev. Wright, Fr. Pleeger, and Bill Ayers.

  • Posted By: Nick S @ 10/02/2008 3:32:01 PM

That was 15 grand a month ill-spent. McCain supported the 2005 bill to rein in Fannie and Freddie. It's not bought and paid influence if the one receiving the contributions acts against the organization gving the campaign contributions. Nice try; close but no cigar. Go look at the 2004 CSPAN tape of the Congressional on Fannie and Freddie and then come back.

That tape clearly indicates the responsibility for this mortgage meltdown that's responsible for much of the current financial disaster can't be layed at McCain's or the republican's feet. That honor rests squarely on the toes of the democrats.

  • Posted By: Go Eagles @ 10/02/2008 2:46:20 PM

I love how the media keeps harping on this same issue that a person related to McCain's campaign may or may not have received money from Freddie. How about the fact that in Obama's short time in the Senate he received more money from Fannie than any other Senator. That is public record. How about that Obama uses Fannie & Freddie CEO's (Jim Johnson & Franklin Raines) as advisors. The same CEO's that drove their companies into the ground and then got million dollar parachutes from the taxpayers. Obama has also received 1.2million dollars from Goldman Sachs in donations, another big company in this economic nightmare. Where is the fair and balanced reporting? The American people deserve to hear all the facts. Research this stuff for yourself.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 10/01/2008 6:39:45 PM

You people need to understand that Obama never denied that he received funds from Fannie and Freddie. But McCain has received money from both and Rick Davis not only received money from Fannie and Freddie, the company he works for received millions from them. The Dems have nothing to do with the fallout of Fannie and Freddie. It was the Republicans and their de-regulation that caused the problem. Than the two started to give loans to people who they knew could not pay the loan back. John McCain is the king of de-regulation. Please remember who wanted de-regulation........think about the Keating 5 scandal.

    • Posted By: getyourfactsstriaght @ 10/01/2008 10:08:28 PM

where are you getting your facts.. cracker jack box? hussane obama had received the 2nd largest bribe from F&F and #1 was also a dem. 2004 Mc Cain tried to warn about the impending prob. with F&F.....Fact ck. . org.!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you look at McCain's interview again in IOWA you will note he almost slipped when talking about "Main street"
He started to say "Regular people."
Whats up with that?? McCain could give a rat azz.
McCain is no different then Davis as far it thats concerned and you can't
convince a lot of the American people otherwise. He's a fraud and a phony.
He's in with Davis and Freddie/Fanny and it's VERY well hidden. Talk about calling a kettle black.

    E-L-I-T-E, E-L-I-T-I-S-T .........
I believe he likes his country but I also believe McCain think EVERYONE OWES HIM SOMETHING.
    I strongly believe this!

    • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 2:28:26 PM

    • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 2:27:15 PM

I am regular people and I admire John McCain. Obama has too many of his followers with their heads up his ass!

  • Posted By: Breanna @ 10/02/2008 2:02:03 PM

Hey, we are not that dumb. Wall street crooks. Well hidden because they are thieves, crooks and yesterday when McCain was in IOWA, if you look at his interview (in the beginning) you will notice he almost "slipped" when referring to main street. Take a look. He begins to refer to main street with saying "Regular People" Then corrected himself and said Main street....GO take another LOOK .
That's how the Republicans politicians, capitol hill and the rest of "WALL STREET in our BUSH administration see "Main street."
I'm surprised they don't come right out and say "Ya know, the little people"

Yes, John McCain loves this country. The problem is, he think WE ALL OWE him.....
    Davis, McCain, ALL of THEM!

    to all,
i think mcain and his racist friend rick davis are a mess. first mccain says that he was going to have a clean campagin and now look , he's more disrespectful thatanyone in the race.

mccain talks about putting country frist i'd like to ask him what part.
because he didn't put the people of new orleans first.
during the katrina ordeal, when president bush flew over the thousands of dying and suffering people bush and john mccain ignored the people just to go and celebrate john's mccain birthday. what a joke.

and it's been written that mccain has turn his back on the vets. just ask john schultz of vote vets.com.

mccain talks about experience, but wasn't it experience that invaded iraq that caused the deaths and murders of over 4,000 18-30 year old kids and know one was held accountable for it. the thousands of iraqi men, women and babies that died because of bush, mccain and karl roves.

it's amazing to me that the republicans doesn't want the american people to remeber how many lives we have lost as a country. i say take this country back so they wont be more deaths and then more lives losts.

wasn't it experience that shipped over 12 billion taxe payers dollars over to iraq and 10 billion was lost or stolen.
wasn't it experience that ignored the men and women of the us army by not sending good uniforms over to iraq. they need a plate to insert in their army uniforms which would have save their lives and mccain voted against that.

why should we vote for this man?
we should want to take this country into the future and not back to the past.
    peace out
    patricia

    • Posted By: Jim Johnson @ 10/02/2008 9:44:35 AM

McCain wouldn't want your vote. He is looking for intelligent voters. When he becomes president, he should ship your cowardly ass to Iraq!
