Where have all the decent Americans gone? This blog is loaded with unintelligent, angry, mean Americans. There are no decent people on this blog, just a bunch of no-nothing jerks who are too lazy to find the real truth! I wouldn't give Obama, nor his bloodthirsty followers, the crap off my toilet paper or the sweat off my balls. He is crapping on your forefathers and your country. He told the Germans that America and Americans like you stunk. He was right!

You call that journalism , shame on you.
America is facing a huge financial crisis due to greed , mismangement and corruption on Wall Street .
Congress pioneered by Democrats urged financial institutions to free up money to risky customers.

    to all,
i think mcain and his racist friend rick davis are a mess. first mccain says that he was going to have a clean campagin and now look , he's more disrespectful thatanyone in the race.

mccain talks about putting country frist i'd like to ask him what part.
because he didn't put the people of new orleans first.
during the katrina ordeal, when president bush flew over the thousands of dying and suffering people bush and john mccain ignored the people just to go and celebrate john's mccain birthday. what a joke.

and it's been written that mccain has turn his back on the vets. just ask john schultz of vote vets.com.

mccain talks about experience, but wasn't it experience that invaded iraq that caused the deaths and murders of over 4,000 18-30 year old kids and know one was held accountable for it. the thousands of iraqi men, women and babies that died because of bush, mccain and karl roves.

it's amazing to me that the republicans doesn't want the american people to remeber how many lives we have lost as a country. i say take this country back so they wont be more deaths and then more lives losts.

wasn't it experience that shipped over 12 billion taxe payers dollars over to iraq and 10 billion was lost or stolen.
wasn't it experience that ignored the men and women of the us army by not sending good uniforms over to iraq. they need a plate to insert in their army uniforms which would have save their lives and mccain voted against that.

why should we vote for this man?
we should want to take this country into the future and not back to the past.
    peace out
    patricia

@ GeTalifeX13 - Dude, Ignore HarleyisHere - He has color issues...Probaly still ticked off because he could'nt get on those rides that said you had to be "this big".....So he makes up for it calling everyone a racist. The fact is, where ever you find Black mayors of towns, you find his kind too. They run their cities into the ground then want to point fingers at everyone else that WHITE people made it that way..OH, and..Yeah 2+2 = 5 as well. Nice try there HarleyisHere - Just a bitter fool that not onlyhas been spoon fed on this, but comes back for more. Why? Does he have any proof? Nope!...Just follow'n what he was taught....At some point people grow out of this stage but not HarleyisHere - He can't see that IF the country is so bad, why would anyone want to put a ROOKIE in the Whitehouse? But like BARRACK HUSSIN OBAMA - He don't get it. - Oh yeah and GWB stole the election too. I'm sure that's on his mind as well. Had nothing to do with AL GORE being about one step short of being classed a LOON.

You are a racist dim wit - the white republicans have bankrupted the ENTIRE country you idiot. But that's OK by you as long as you can brainwash yourself into blaming a few "Black" mayors, whatever the he)) that means??!!. You are so stupid!! along with all the other stupids voting for Mcidiot. Your bigotry keeps the whites screwing this country year after year and who have you bent over all the time coming back for endless seconds. They count on your bigotted stupidity to keep them in power. Racism is a very effective weapon used against you by the very race that you are - by the elite who are in power, who effectively use it to keep YOU SLAVES to THEM.

The record is quite clear. The Democrats have long resisted Fannnie Mae and Freddie Mac reform and there are Democrats that have gotten rich running Fannie/Freddie into the ground. The Bush Administartion warned of the problem and McCain co-sponsored reform legislation in 2005/2006 that was rejected by Democrats and it never got out of committee. The Republican did not push it through because of the politics. I CAN HEAR THE POLITICAL RHETORIC COMING FROM THE DEMOCRATS NOW: 'Republicans are trying to prevent low income Americans from getting a house while giving the rich tax breaks!!! They're out of touch!!!' .

Obama has reaped large amounts of money and the record shows that he did absolutely nothing to reform Fannie/Freddie. In other words, he earned his money. He protected the Democrat's money machine.

    Here are the facts:
Barack Obama got an average of $40,000/year ($126K in 3 years) from Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac.
John McCain got an average of $1,000/year ($21K in 20 years) from Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac.

DEMOCRATS WHO HAVE GRABBED FANNIE/FREDDIE CASH WHILE DRIVING IT IN THE GROUND:
Franklin Raines (CEO), Jim Johnson (CEO), Jamie Gorelick (Vice Chair) collected HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS from Fannie/Freddie.

I am really disappointed in your reporting. Obama received a lot more in donations from them than McCain did and Raines and Johnson (both worked there and made tons of money, right) now work for Obama. I expect this type of reporting from Time but have always looked at Newsweek as a better publication. I guess the times change. try some objectivity. Why does no one ask Obama or do some deep investigative reporting about Raines, Johnson or for that matter William Ayers? Oh, that might be too balanced.

Wait a minute. I did my own home work when Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac first started looking shaky. I simply "googled" Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, political contributions. The top 25 are interesting Chris Dodd, #1, John Kerry #2, Barak Obama #3 etc. (john McCain is not on the list) We are not the ignorant believe everything the magzine tells us Americans you think we are. Please give us the facts-not your slant-or change your name to NEWS ( according to my personal poiitical bias this )WEEK

..........................McCain needs to quit posturing that he is Squeeky Clean in his Campaign and he is some kind of Reformer when he has had such a long career as an Establishment Guy in D.C. McCain with his Mega Millions, 7 Homes and 13 Vehicles has lost touch with Middle Class America. He should go into retirement and be enjoying his Fortunes and quit tampering with the lives of The Average American Guy/Gal.

  • Posted By: Chris A @ 10/01/2008 2:34:04 PM

This has gotten old. Start doing some balanced reporting. Obama has actually received more than McCain has.
This is why I don't subscribe to your magazine.

It's so tiresome, I skip reading the inflammatory remarks from both sides. they're BORING... the 'other' guy is always evil personified while their guy is an archangel.

Any body with two bits of sense in their head knows the Washington runs on money, it's a shame and it's true. what's interesting is the amounts of money and from who.

McCain has not been able to match Obama on broadbased support and individual donors, that's just the way it is.

This tells us several things not all related - people are just plain ready to push republican's out regardless of message. We aren't getting to hear from the calm, conservative, constitution loving republicans much these days - they are shouted out by the erractic, the right-wing idealogues, the pro-war neocons. Obama is shown to have much stronger managerial skills and ability to discern/select talented individuals.

the republicans in power have ignored main street america for too long. we know it takes more than main street but right now main street is tired of the dereliction of duties during the republican watch.

Congratulation you got him. How about OBAMA's Linkage. He and his campaign is drowning in linkage. Maybe that is not your magazine policy to report it. Time warner has become nothing but Left wing operation. No wonder your membership is slipping.

Freddie Mac employees revealed this information regarding Rick Davis receiving $15,000/month up until August 2008 in response to the constant attacks on Obama for his ties to two former Fannie Mae executives.
