Leggit you are truly a scary person. What venom spews forth from your mouth! Shame. You sound like some sort of fear mongering fanatic. This is the crap that made Americans buy into Bush. No more!!!!!

McCain will not change Washington. He is NOT a reformer - he is a reactionary who shoots from the hip and thinks later, and he will pay any price to be president.

We need a president with calm reason and the ability to be diplomatic (not just a nuclear reactor).

THank you Truthbhad .............. someones actually done his homework. a worthy student.
I dont give credence to anyone unless they have actually investigated before they endorse anyone. I, personally, see many errors in Washington, and many times the candidates. However, I can never bring myself to vote for an anti-american who, if given, carte blanche, will destroy this country. One of the claims of the terrorists was that they dont need to bomb america anymore, becasue they will destroy it from within. Now thats not the kind of change I want.

inmteoligent? a typical democratic self thinker ..... McCain foisted an unqualified candidate for VP? lol Do some research and find out who your smooth talking obabble really is ..... McCain has posted his donors online for everyone to see and when they asked obabble to do it months ago, his camp stalled and to date they havent. Know why...... because he has donors that have donated MILLIONS to his campaign from aboard, and they arent our ally countries. The donars come from all over with no names, dont say where they are from, etc. They have investigated many and tracked them back to hostile countries supporting him, one of which is Iran. hmmmmm if he is such a loyal american, Why are our enemies donating to his campaign? Even Hillary made a comment that the only way a candidate could receive donations from someone living abroad is if they have a ligitimate visa and passport. Whats the big secret hes hiding. And this is just one of many stories. Hopefully, the american public wakes up before its too late and realizes that obabble has his own interest, along with terrorist affiliations, at heart and not the this country. have you even bothered to investigate this guy?
Here are 2 very short excerpts from books he himself has written.
    From Dreams of My Father:
'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'
'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'
'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.' (talking about his father)
'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'
'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'
AND FINALLY the Most Damming OF ALL .............. F
From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the MUSLIMS should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'
His wordssssssss ........... before you put nonsense up here, do research. You might as well be electing one of the terrorists we are trying to protect our country from.

No, the money trail has not caught up with McCain, or the gambling bailout or his failure to be honest with us.
The fact that he foisted an unqualified candidate for VP. My country needs inmteloligent, educated, unselfish, decision makers to sit in the Oval office. This time around the REPUBLICAN TICKET HAS NOT GIVEN ME THAT CHOICE.

Stupidly biased reporting such as this only makes us Democrats look bad. When you "report" news using Rove as your example of acceptable ethical standards, you only make yourselves look bad.

Where are we Democrats to go for unbiased news these days? These days, for the most part, only PBS and NPR maintain their high standards for fair reporting.

Both Obama and McCain have way too many ties to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. However, between McCain and Obama, only McCain has a clear history of trying to do something about improving them -- by adding regulations, no less. Here's a quote from McCain in 2006, when he was trying to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac:

"Mr. President, this week Fannie Mae???s regulator reported that the company???s quarterly reports of profit growth over the past few years were ???illusions deliberately and systematically created??? by the company???s senior management, which resulted in a $10.6 billion accounting scandal.
The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight???s report goes on to say that Fannie Mae employees deliberately and intentionally manipulated financial reports to hit earnings targets in order to trigger bonuses for senior executives. In the case of Franklin Raines, Fannie Mae???s former chief executive officer, OFHEO???s report shows that over half of Mr. Raines??? compensation for the 6 years through 2003 was directly tied to meeting earnings targets. The report of financial misconduct at Fannie Mae echoes the deeply troubling $5 billion profit restatement at Freddie Mac................I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole."

Its been documented that Rezko may be devulging some dirty little secrets for a more lenient sentence. It will be interesting what he has to say about obabble. Interesting Rezko disappears or if a contract is out on his life. I wouldnt put anything past Obabble.

McCain and the Republicans wants everyone to put their retirement moneys into the stock market instead of social security. But we just lost $1trillion in the sock market.

  • Posted By: Legitt @ 09/30/2008 4:41:45 PM

Why dont we talk about Obabble's affiliations? It would take us into the next millinium to sort his toxic waste.

WHERE IS RICK DAVIS? HE"S BEEN HIDING

  • Posted By: FredJ @ 09/30/2008 2:37:09 PM

Davis was hired by Freddie Mac. Obama advisors Johnson and Raines were executives who made the bad policy choices of Freddie Mac. Being "associated" with F.M. is a vague word to hide the difference.

The lyiing McCain is going to stop the "good old boy network?" This is IT... at it's finest. Good old boys getting paid for nothing while working in conflict of interest against the American people. McCain is a d*mn liar! Rick Davis is worse! McCain' campaign is filled with these lobbyists that work against the American people. Another case in point....Randy Schuenemann...a lobbyist for Georgia...essentially... a Foriegn Agent. Imagine...A foriegn agent working for a presidential candidate! He got McCain to say..."Today, We are all Georgians." Well, I've got news for John McCain and everybody else that cares to listen... I'm not a Georgian...I never will be a Georgian and I don't want Georgia in NATO because I don't want to have to defend them when their crazy a** president wants to start a war with Russia. Frankly, I'm tired of our leaders making us (american citizens) be anything but American Citizens. These "influence peddlers," Davis, Schuenemann, and many others own our leaders! I'm sure Obama has his too, but he hasn't been ther long enough to collect as many as McCain. Identify them all, and expose them for what they are. As McCain says "make 'em famous!" One more thing...Hillary says..."an attack on Israel is an attack on the U.S." Well, I've got news for her too...An attack on Israel is NOT an attck on the U.S. and I'm tired of her trying to make ne "Jewish"... I'm not... and I'm tired of fighting Israel's wars too! An attack on Nebraska IS an attack on the U.S....an attack on Israel is an attack on another country!

McCain might be a liar, so you think...but you are a dumb a$$

      • Posted By: Zachary31 @ 09/30/2008 1:04:00 PM

You should back your charge with some facts or else you just come across as stupid. I'm just an unbiased third party reading these comments.

        Why am I a dumb a**?

If the simplistic "party in power" model were true, then the Democrats would not have needed the House Republicans when they tried to pass the bailout bill, as Democrats have the majority in both houses and there is no threat of a veto. Obviously, it is not so simple and the media does the voter a disservice by doing little more than reinforcing the error.

  • Posted By: WidernessVoice @ 09/30/2008 11:40:30 AM

Regarding pearsoncrz: In 2005, Republicans held a clear majority in both houses. To blame the Democrats for not passing S.190 is absolutely ludicrous! What you are saying is that the Republicans were intimidated by the minority Democrats! Give me a break!

  • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 09/30/2008 10:40:34 AM

Did you see that Rezko is talking to prosecutors?

In 2005, for the first time in history, a serious Fannie and Freddie reform bill, S. 190, was passed by the Senate Banking Committee. The bill gave a regulator power to crack down, and would have required the companies to eliminate their investments in risky assets. If that bill had become law, then the world today would be different. But the bill didn't become law, for a simple reason: Democrats opposed it on a party-line vote in the committee, signaling that this would be a partisan issue. Republicans, tied in knots by the tight Democratic opposition, couldn't even get the Senate to vote on the matter.

In support of S 190, also known as the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, John McCain said: "For years I have been concerned about the regulatory structure that governs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac--known as Government-sponsored entities or GSEs--and the sheer magnitude of these companies and the role they play in the housing market. OFHEO's report this week does nothing to ease these concerns. In fact, the report does quite the contrary. OFHEO's report solidifies my view that the GSEs need to be reformed without delay."

    http://www.govtrack.us/congress/record.xpd?id=109-s20060525-16

Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005 would have Amended the Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act of 1992 to establish: (1) in lieu of the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), an independent Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Agency which shall have authority over the Federal Home Loan Bank Finance Corporation, the Federal Home Loan Banks, the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac); and (2) the Federal Housing Enterprise Board.
Most importantly with regard to the CDS situation, S. 190 set forth operating, administrative, and regulatory provisions respecting: (1) assessment authority; (2) authority to limit nonmission-related assets; (3) minimum and critical capital levels; (4) risk-based capital test; (5) capital classifications and undercapitalized enterprises; (6) enforcement actions and penalties; (7) golden parachutes; and (8) reporting. Adoption of these regulatory provisions would have undoubtably affected the way CDSs were dealt with in "private" enterprises.
The bill would have also amended the Federal Home Loan Bank Act to establish the Federal Home Loan Bank Finance Corporation., and transfered the functions of the Office of Finance of the Federal Home Loan Banks to such Corporation. If this had been in place three years ago, this whole situation might have been averted.

I realy do not care who did what or who has who working for them. Obama or McCain gets in it dose not matter
this problem will last for at least 5 years . Also why don't people vote to get all them congress people out of office who voted against this bill. The next president will have to raise taxes no matter what, the US is paying
90 million in intrest on money we borrow for the war .

  • Posted By: Tonie @ 09/30/2008 1:05:48 AM

McCain doesn???t know what is going on or why would he say a day before this crisis that this economy was fundamentally sound. Maybe because he has nine homes and 13 cars.

This is lame so lame. What is the Quid Pro Quo? When is the Fannie Mae Money 16-Lane Superhighway leading to Obama going to be reported on? You reporters are going to regret your blatant propaganda campaign.

This is why people are fleeing from the main stream media, all one sided.

  • Posted By: Fentonbr @ 09/30/2008 2:49:44 AM

No one on Mc Cains team could come close to Obama having the past HEAD of Freddie Mac (who
cooked the books and then ran it in the ground) Mr. Franklin Raines head his VP selection as well
as be a consultant! Where the hell are you main stream media? Unless you follow in detail all aspects
you CAN NOT get any FACTS that have a unfavorable light on Demo's. Great media integrity!
