Comparing Sarah Palin to Dan Quayle is an insult to Dan Quayle.

    • Posted By: Pallisor @ 09/30/2008 10:38:12 PM

Dan Quayle was dumb like a fox.

      • Posted By: neos @ 10/01/2008 3:18:29 AM

No, he was dumb like a potatoe.

Like the main stream media, you nail the opposition for a misspelled word. Of course, Obama gets a pass from you and the MSM for the 57 states thing.

          Well, of course!

          • Posted By: neos @ 10/01/2008 11:15:09 AM

If Obama got a 'pass' on the 57 state thing,
How is it that you and I are aware of it?? Hello!!! A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

            • Posted By: Pallisor @ 10/01/2008 11:40:56 AM

Hellllloooooo! I said MSM, didn't I? Of course they'd croak before they said anything that could embarrass or truly hurt your idol. Only your much hated Faux News told the story!

BTW, you constantly hit people with insults, but criticize others for doing so. Look up hypocrite in Websters... there's your picture.

National Association of Private School Headmasters publishes open letter in New York Times to Sarah Palin. "We wanted to openly declare that her kids are not welcome in any of the private schools on the East Coast. Our schools were founded to educate the best and brightest of our society not the hoi polloi" said Mr. Horace D. Mann of Riverdale, NY.

I agree with Flanders. You are just talking plain mean. I usuallly get a kick out of your witty quips, but not this one.

      • Posted By: benkrapf @ 10/01/2008 7:30:04 PM

I wonder, would you respond the same way if the poster had referred to Michelle Obama?

    • Posted By: Flanders @ 10/01/2008 4:33:27 PM

      This seems out of line.

Obama promises to change country and the world "We are going to change this country" said the candidate. "Two hundred years of Yankee Imperialism, racism, nepotism, capitalist greed, hirsutism, nationalism, conservatism, botulism, and a priapistic foreign policy has made us the friend of few and the enemy of many throughout the world. I will change that. I will change that. (Applause from the press corps). "I will go out of my way to create the conditions for a lasting peace in the world. In our backyard, no longer will the rich (except for those who live in Hollywood and on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and on the Gold Coast of Chicago) be able to profit a the expense of the poor. No my friends. Those days are gone. (More applause from the press corps). I will change this country. Change it. Change it. (here the press went wild with cheering and applause and joined him in chanting Change it. Change it).

In an interview this morning with NPR, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said that he has often turned to Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) for foreign policy advice:

      OMG!!!??? WTF???
I know that this sounds like one of your bizarre posts, but it's absolutely true...

You reference Henry Paulson several times in different arcticles and editorial cartoons in your October 6 publication. I don't know who that is. The treasury secretary is Henry Paulsen. E not an O. When you commit such easily verified errors of fact it makes it hard to take as credible anything included in Newsweek.

Obama promises that incarceration rates will drop during his administration. "Too many of our citizens are ending up in jail. We need to help our citizens stay out of prison. The best way is to help them afford good lawyers when they commit a crime. " Obama is working closely with the American Bar Association on a project that will increase the quality of legal representation. "Together we will solve the problem of prison over crowding" said the candidate today in Flint Michigan.

Ultimately, we the American people get what they deserve. We're in the mess we're in because Americans chose to vote for a superficial leader with no experience in 2000 and 2004. Now once again it looks like we're going to elect a smooth talking guy, who looks good, but has absolutely no relevant experience. WIth Obama as president, the worst has yet to come. What a shame.

n a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide the largest morgage bank in the world,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch which are 3 out of the top 5 wall street firms. Also, Fanny and Freddy Mae which hold 50 percent of the home loans in the United States.
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. If they didn't the entire financially system would virtually shut down, the stock market would crash and we would suffer beyond what any of us have seen before.

McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.

Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He either didn't care or didn't realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime.
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a tanking economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?

quasqueton, please don't feel bad if your daughter born with down syndrome but trust God made her with special reason, anyone with a brian that didn't use is truly brainless.......Jenson, I just express my own opinion and all do is within voter, your comment in people with down syndome is a insult to everyone one of them including minority........please use your brain.

      • Posted By: Jensen1990 @ 09/30/2008 7:08:11 PM

By calling people retarded you dont feel negligent towards the true meaning of mental retardation? What you say was completely ignorant. I was simply pointing out the fact that your vocabulary towards the word "Retard" was ridiculous. You two have to be the stupidest people on the face of the earth. Study shows people who vote for republicans are less likely to have a college degree then people who have graduated college. Hence smarter. But dont feel bad guys, some day you will realize how it works.

        • Posted By: snowwhitemother @ 10/01/2008 4:05:48 PM

Wow, Jensen, I appreciate you point out the word "Retart" is inapporiate, but you use "Down Syndrome" to throw against me and now telling others that you simply don't mean it?? Fact is you either haven't complete or you had never been to a college.......oh wait, maybe you are in the class of Obama who taught you how to dance around:)

    • Posted By: marksgershenson @ 09/30/2008 3:55:44 PM

Are you old enough to drink from a milk bottle? NEXT!

    • Posted By: Jensen1990 @ 09/30/2008 2:24:59 PM

Your only insult to anybody in this chat has been "oh maybe you will be old enough to vote". It makes you sound so old, believe me.

    • Posted By: Jensen1990 @ 09/30/2008 2:23:18 PM

Had? I never insulted any Down's Syndrome people, but if you would to think that, that's fine. She was naming off "retard" like it was appropriate, so blame your snowwhite friend for insulting your daughter with a slang term for her ailment. Never laughed at that, but it's interesting you insulted me without reading what everybody had to say first. You were decided who to vote for before me, don't lie. And yes, i am old enough to vote. Shouldn't matter so i wont ask you the same stupid question.

Rezko courthouse visits fuel rumors he's talking
By MIKE ROBINSON | AP Legal Affairs Writer
    4:52 PM CDT, September 29, 2008
CHICAGO - Convicted political fixer Antoin "Tony" Rezko has been quietly visiting Chicago's federal courthouse, setting off speculation that he may be spilling secrets to federal prosecutors in return for a lenient sentence.

Prosecutors investigating Gov. Rod Blagojevich's administration would plainly like to hear what Rezko knows, and there is plenty of incentive to talk.

"Jail is horrible and Tony Rezko has just two options," says Jay Stewart, executive director of the Better Government Association. "One option is to do nothin" and get a full sentence. The other is to cooperate with prosecutors."

Attorneys with knowledge of the government's investigation of corruption in state government say they are convinced the key fundraiser for Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Sen. Barack Obama is either talking or about to do so.......

BEFORE trial...Fed Prosecutor Fitzgerald, tried to get Rezko to implicate Hussein and Blagjevich, in the Hospital fix. Rezko refused, but has since been convicted Both were in the game, up to their necks. Now Tony either (1)spends rest of life in prison...or...(2)talks and walks...under a Witness Protection deal.

    I told ya'll months ago....Tony will...squeal like a pig.....

    NOBAMA!!!

PBS anchor Gwen Ifill, who is moderating Thursday night's vice-presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin, is releasing a new book on Barack Obama, raising questions about her objectivity. The book, "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama," is due to be released about the same time the next president takes the oath of office.

During the Republican National Convention, the PBS ombudsman fielded numerous complaints about Ifill???s coverage of Sarah Palin???s speech. Wrote Brian Meyers of Granby, Ct.: ???I was appalled by Gwen Ifill???s commentary directly following Gov. Sarah Palin???s speech. Her attitude was dismissive and the look on her face was one of disgust. Clearly, she was agitated by what most critics view as a well-delivered speech. It is quite obvious that Ms. Ifill supports Obama as she struggled to say anything redemptive about Gov. Palin???s performance. I am disappointed in Ms. Ifill???s complete disregard for journalistic objectivity.???

    Check out realclearpolitics.com.

It's an aggregated list of polls with national, electoral, congressional averages.

One thing struck me on the main polls page: the Intrade estimate, which is like betting on politics.

With $15MM in bid circulation, Intrade has Obama leading McCain 2 to 1 in likelihood of election.

  • Posted By: benkrapf @ 10/01/2008 1:46:39 PM

    Also, HolyRoller:

Just checked out the obamacrimes.com website as you suggest. Three concerns:

    1) Who is this Berg guy, and what is his motivation?

    2) If you're so confident in this concept, then why is he begging for money at the top of the home page?

    3) Even if there is a small legitimacy in his case, as there is in the case against McCain's legitimacy, then what makes you think that the DNC won't bludgeon the case with money until Berg loses his ability to continue, as I am sure the RNC would if the Dems were interested in pursuing their case against McCain?

    Here's two questions:

When will Republicans admit defeat in this election? What will it take?

  • Posted By: benkrapf @ 10/01/2008 1:40:00 PM

Hey, don't plagiarize GW like that!

  • Posted By: neos @ 09/30/2008 6:26:01 PM

If McCain cannot even get his OWN party members to go along on this deal, how can we believe he will be an effective President? 2/3rd of the House republicans would not respond to his call for support!!
    Some leadership.

    • Posted By: sharenews @ 10/01/2008 2:14:22 AM

Yeah, right, just like Obama was to represent unity to unite all of the Hillary supporters which he absolutely did not. Thus the tight race still going on. . .

      • Posted By: benkrapf @ 10/01/2008 1:39:08 PM

Yeah, I can't believe it! Sharenews is posting without a cut and paste fiesta!

      • Posted By: neos @ 10/01/2008 2:43:08 AM

        Tight race??? Check the polls.
Most estimates say that 85% or more of the Hillary supporters like me are now fully behind Senator Obama. The shallow pouters are free to seek out their petty revenge; they were never true Democrats anyways. McCain could not get more than a third of his own party members in the House to support him. Some leader!
By the way, congratulations on finding your OWN voice.
