    It may be a mistake to divide the people of the country up into racial or ethnic groups in order to figure out how to appeal to them. If you focus on race, thats all you see. The important differences and similarities between any two Americans may have absolutely nothing to do with ethnicity. Take two young male blue collar workers with wives and children to care for...any two...regardless of their respective races or religions, these two young men will have many interests in common. Things that help or harm one of them are likely to be very much like those that would help or harm the other in the same way. Their biggest (relevant) difference is likely to be what their specific job is, or what industry they are employed in, not whether their abuelas make papusas or tacos...or dim sum, or Philly cheese steak sandwiches.

      You are completely and absolutely right Iconoblaster.

      But we live in an absurd World where those arbitrary and ridiculous classifications operate. I have the same thoughts that you expressed, every day. Nobody is 100% white or black.

      Obama is as black as white.

      Our studies of Demography and Racial Votes are filled with lies and errors. People lie constantly to pollsters on the phone. They report the "wrong" racial box, they have "wrong" racial self perceptions.

      So these polls and studies should be taken with a little grain of salt.

      And that is what I work, Demography, Racial Votes in toss up states ( Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, etc... ), polls and other lies.
