Let me give another example of the liberal double standard. For 8 years they have called Bush a "chimp" and superimposed Bush pictures on the cartoon figure "Curious George". When an East Coast Merchant made a Tshirt with Obama's face superimposed on Curious George, there was an immediate outcray and much gnashing of teeth and shedding of tears by the left. And you wonder why we dismiss most of the left wing outrcies as hypocrisy.

Why the agonizing introspection in Newberg when in West Hollywood gay men say it's just a big Halloween joke? Duh, if you don't get it....Of course the difference is that Christians are not known to routinely push the limits and challenge community sensitivities, while gay men are famous for 'Act Up' and other at-the-limit/over-the-line behavior. This is exactly why we need marriage defined in CA prop 8. If we don't make the line crystal clear in California, some members of the community think it's their obligation to push the limit of good taste. In the Christian community there's a constant movement for purity and repentance. Those who don't conform are held accountable. In the gay community there is a constant effort by some individuals to gain fame by outrageous behavior.

mabey I am a little skeptical but after the big stink about Palins effigy outside of west hollywood. it seems to me that obama in an effort to reduce thehate crime decided to get a piece of the action. does the phrase "it was a staged hanging"

Why is it ok to hang an effigy of Palin but it's the end of the world if someone does it to Barack HUSSEIN Obama? That is crap

  • Posted By: Wondering123 @ 10/30/2008 6:24:32 PM

I agree with HaroldC Why is it ok to hang an effigy of Sarah Palin but it is the end of the world for some one to hang on of Barak HUSSEIN Obama? It's crap!

The effigy of hanging Obama is down right repulsive...I dont like Obama as my choice pick for president...But I sure wouldnt agree do something as tastless as that...Just sick!

    • Posted By: HaroldC @ 10/29/2008 7:40:53 PM

But hanging an effigy of Sarah Palin and Senator McCain is ok? Your omission speaks volumes on your own bigotry....

"The pledge decrees that sexual behaviors outside the context of "mutual compassion, love and fidelity"???such as homosexuality???are inconsistent with God's teaching." Ridiculous! Mutual compassion, love, and fidelity are present in gay marriage and partnership to at least the same extent they are in mixed-sex marriages and partnerships. What god are these people worshiping, the Divine Anita Bryant? What kind of education are they getting?

Wow as an Act Six scholar, I must say the member: i_love_to_spell has good insight. It was definitely an attack on Barack Obama but I question if it was an attack on race. Did they have to go as far as hanging him from a tree? Sounds somewhat similar to Jena Six. Also, there is a common misconception that the Act Six scholarship is a minority scholarship when it is in fact a scholarship based on leadership and academics. It frustrates me that people assume that because we are diverse that we must be in a minority scholarship but that is not the case. So it could in fact be a racist act. If they don't agree with his leadership than couldn't they of wrote something else like, "President Reject," or "Bad leader". What was the purpose of associating him w/ a whole scholarship program AND hanging him from a tree? I think race may have possibly had something to do w/ it.

  • Posted By: i_love_to_spell @ 10/13/2008 4:03:16 PM

It is amazing to me how quickly people are ready to jump on the racist bandwagon. The effigy of Obama, was a political joke, not an ugly racist act. I actually thought it was pretty clever. To make a statement about the lack of ability in leadership that one of the presidential candidates has???.was very creative. Tying a cardboard cutout of Obama with a sign that he would have been an ???Act Six Reject??? was genius. If you actually THINK about it???.but then I don???t expect many journalists to do that these days. It is more fun to wave the racist banner than it is to get to the bottom of the story. Act Six Scholarships are given out to students who demonstrate leadership potential???not just minorities, but all students (some perhaps, because of financial struggles). But the Act Six Reject referenced the fact that whoever was wearing the sign, did NOT have the leadership potential to LEAD???therefore, they were a reject for the scholarship program. DUH! IT had nothing to do with race. It was a political statement about the lack of leadership potential in OBAMA. HELLO!! And fishing line was PURPOSELY used and NOT rope (they had rope) so people would not confuse the issue of race???this was NOT a racial attack, but a political JOKE! And all of the media (LIBERALS) jumped at the chance to turn this into a racial attack to bring more attention to Obama. What a sad state of affairs. You Journalist make me sick.

I am ashshamed to confess I voted for Bush twice! Now I am ashamed to be a white person and hear this racial hate being spuded on these posts. Throw all your hatred and false lies out in the public so you can hope to distroy another human being without him even having the right to defend himself! You are the purverts, the clan, the worst of the worst. I hope in that dark stinking corner of what some might call a soul you have to face your God. I am sure you are Christian, a Republican and also a hate monger. If that is what being a Christian is, I'm turning in my belief. Screw you.

Larry Sinclair accuses Barack Obama of homosexual acts and drug use in video posted on YouTube

WASHINGTON ??? The electrifying presidential campaign of Barack Obama faces a new challenge ??? a Minnesota man who claims he took cocaine in 1999 with the then-Illinois legislator and participated in homosexual acts with him.

When his story was ignored by the news media, Larry Sinclair made his case last month in a YouTube video, which has now been viewed more than a quarter-million times. And when it was still ignored by the media, Sinclair filed a suit in Minnesota District Court, alleging threats and intimidation by Obama's staff.

Sinclair, who says he is willing to submit to a polygraph test to validate his claims, will now get his chance ??? thanks to a website offering $10,000 for the right to record it and $100,000 to Sinclair if he passes.

"My motivation for making this public is my desire for a presidential candidate to be honest," Sinclair told WND by telephone. "I didn't want the sex thing to come out. But I think it is important for the candidate to be honest about his drug use as late as 1999."

    (Story continues below)

Sinclair, who lives in Duluth and describes himself as "gay," claims he "personally engaged in sexual activity and personally used illegal drugs in November 1999" with the man who is now the leading Democratic presidential candidate. He claims the activity took place in the back of Sinclair's limousine and occurred again, later, in his hotel. Sinclair also says he personally no longer uses drugs.

In his lawsuit, filed last week, he charges his civil rights have been violated by Obama and the Democratic Party. Named as defendants in the case are the presidential candidate, David Axelrod of AKP Message and Media in Chicago and the Democratic National Committee.

Sinclair charges Obama smoked crack cocaine in the limo while Sinclair snorted powdered cocaine provided by the legislator. He says the two met in an upscale Chicago lounge before leaving in Sinclair's limousine where the drug use and sex took place for the first time.

Sinclair says he is a registered Democrat but has never voted for any candidate. He is 46 and claims to be physically disabled.

He says he was not physically impaired in 1999 when the alleged incidents with Obama took place.

Calls placed to the Obama campaign were not returned.

    See Larry Sinclair's allegations:

"Speculation has simmered for weeks that the key fundraiser for Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Sen. Barack Obama was whispering what he knows about corruption in Illinois government to federal prosecutors in hopes of getting a lighter sentence."

The link below contains a purported list of the top 25 in Congress who got contributions from the folks at Fannie and Freddie. Obama is listed third, after Dodd and Kerry, even though Obama is just a junior Senator. Obama is followed next by Clinton. Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi are on the list as well.

It is amusing how everyone has their own take on affirmative action. If you want a 100% meritocracy for universities based soley on grades and SATs, then places like Stanford and Harvard will be 60-70% Asian and Jewish. They already are about 35-50% Jewish and Asian. It looks shocking, but it is true. These groups only constitute 4-5% of the US population. You have white parents complain in Palo Alto shifting their kids to schools that emphasize a more well rounded approach. Why?? Because they complain their current school with their majority Asian student bodies emphasize focus too much on grades. If you really believed in meritocracy you would say the kids are wimps, they can't hack it. Others would say the real world is not just about grades in defence of their parents

The fact who gets admitted to the top colleges is not just about grades. It never has been. There were calls in the 1930s that there were too many Jewish students at Ivy League colleges, so they put more emphasis on after school activities. It reduced the number of Jewish kids being accepted. After the War, they side stepped it and classified Jews as White, because anti-semiticism was no longer acceptable.

I think the reason why there is this rally against the liberal elite is the fact that the Ivy League does not try to get more students from Middle America to apply. A white Baptist from Texas has just as much chance of attending Harvard as a Black boy from .Harlam.

Let me just say something to all of you all yelling ''hate'' crime out there. Barack Obama is a FULL-BLOWN MUSLIM!!!! And no I'm sorry to disappoint writer fccFH; but NO Christian is going to vote for some muslim. The Bible states we should always have Christianity. If Obama gets president this whole country will go under!!! Oh yes we will see change. Change that America is not ready for. As far as those college kids out there in Oregon, I say more power to yall!!!! Here in the deep South we went through the Civil War over these black people and we still disown northern yankees. My great great grandfather was a Civil War veteran who fought in the Battle of Chickamauga and Shiloh. I want to say down here in Dixieland the true Southern people will vote McCain. I have had enough of Obama. All he is is a black muslim and he dosn't have a lick of sense in politcs what so ever. So all you non-christians out here standing for obama yall know where your going when Armagedon arrives. Not heaven. Also have you noticed obama hasn't campaigned through the South? He might not return back to Illinois if he does.....If he gets office, it won't be long before his V.P. will have to take over(interperate that for what you may). So in conclusion, all you pro obama people out there, if you want to get a taste of what the deep South thinks of you then come on down here yanks! WE REBELS WILL SET YOU STRAIGHT! THe South will rise again. Go Oregon and pro McCain all the way!

It is important for readers and commentators to understand that inclusion in a given system does not necessary imply superior knowledge. Historical exclusion of minorities from fully participation in the
American economy was not due to lack of knowlegde or inferior mental capability. Rather, it was due to savage exclusionary laws implemented and practice by selfish and un-Christian men to reap the benefits from the labor of the excluded group. And, such exclusion has been applied to many ethnic groups, even within the Anglo community (i.e., Irish,Italians, ect.).

Wow, I don't need a Newsweek story or an effigy of Obama to show me that racism (or just plan prejudice) is alive and well in the world. All I have to do is just read through the comments on this discussion board.

Some of you think this story reveals no big deal. Boys being boys. I would like to see what the response would have been if an effigy of Jesus had been treated with such disregard. Would that be Ok too?

That would not even have made the news
