Big Hair, Big Show

I went to a high school where the cheerleaders were 99% dumb and about 95% slut but it didn't matter because they thought they were on the top of the world. I'll admit, when the show came out it was like "oh great, more airheads for young girls to look up to." But one day I put all that aside and actually watched the show. I was very surprised at how rigorous it was from the precision to the fitness to the etiquette. It takes some serious talent to do what they do, so kudos to them.

I wish now...looking back, that I would have tried out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders long ago. In high school, I'd taken that first step in joining a drill team and it really taught us discipline, etiquette too. Most people sit back and think..."oh you just want to look pretty and popular". I guess a very young woman....YES would initially think that....it's like a dream, a goal and some never take that step. I was extremely shy and it was when I got tired of that attitude and tried out for our high schools drill team....that I tried out. It was WAY harder than I thought!! We were a military style drill team and our instructor was TOUGH...but he produced the best. But in the end, I'm SO GLAD I stayed with it, even though it was very rigorous training. So any of you out there even REMOTELY thinking about trying out for this team.....GO FOR IT....WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!! NEVER let ANYONE tell you ..."you're not good enough". And if it....just so happens to turn out that way starting out.....then get off your TUSH and train harder until you get the job done. Don't let a "no" upset you....look at it like a CHALLENGE and push yourself. And if you DO ALL THAT and still fail....then at LEAST you can say....."I tried my best". That's a dream I'll never be able to re-capture. But you out there, whose still in that age group......GO FOR IT!! By the way, I just attended the Dallas-Redskins game and it was SO AWESOME seeing the boys play and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders get the crowds going. Kudo's to Kelli Finglass for giving it her all. It shows.
