Comment: "Not all Democrats agree with Mr. Frank that such policies are off-limits to criticism. Last week Rep. Artur Davis of Alabama said in a statement: 'Like a lot of my Democratic colleagues I was too slow to appreciate the recklessness of Fannie and Freddie. I defended their efforts to encourage affordable homeownership, when in retrospect, I should have heeded the concerns raised by their regulator in 2004. Frankly, I wish my Democratic colleagues would admit when it comes to Fannie and Freddie, we were wrong.'

"Mr. Davis is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus."

'Rank snobbery'

Camille Paglia, who supports Sen. Barack Obama, has nothing but scorn for the way the media has treated Sarah Palin.

"The mountain of rubbish poured out about Palin over the past month would rival Everest. What a disgrace for our jabbering army of liberal journalists and commentators, too many of whom behaved like snippy jackasses," Miss Paglia writes at www.salon.com.

"The bourgeois conventionalism and rank snobbery of these alleged humanitarians stank up the place. As for Palin's brutally edited interviews with Charlie Gibson and that viper, Katie Couric, don't we all know that the best bits ended up on the cutting-room floor? Something has gone seriously wrong with Democratic ideology, which seems to have become a candied set of holier-than-thou bromides attached like tutti-frutti to a quivering green Jell-O mold of adolescent sentimentality."

Comment: The Antichrist!:
When George Soros failed to obtain the election of his candidate, John Kerry, in 2004, he brooded for a while, even said he might get out of politics altogether, but he just couldn???t stop himself. He has stated publicly that he wishes to burst the ???bubble of American supremacy,??? because he says our preeminence in the world is a detriment to global ???equilibrium.??? So far, he has failed, but he keeps on trying.

And Mr. Soros has made no secret either of the fact that he sees the shortest way to effect political shake-ups, what he terms ???regime changes,??? is through very difficult economic conditions.

America has not yet felt the full force of Soros style economic shock treatment. But others have.

Soros made his first billion in 1992 by shorting the British pound with leveraged billions in financial bets, and became known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He broke it on the backs of hard-working British citizens who immediately saw their homes severely devalued and their life savings cut drastically in comparative worth almost overnight.

When the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 threatened to spread globally, George Soros was right in the thick of it. Soros was accused by the Malaysian Prime Minister of causing the collapse with his monetary machinations, and he was branded in Thailand as an ???economic war criminal??? who ???sucks the blood from the people.??? Right in the middle of this crisis, Soros dashed off his book, The Crisis of Global Capitalism, which demanded a ???third way??? toward economic stability.

Wake up, America, before it is too late!!!!

Comment: We've been suckered! Wall Street has played the American people like a violin. On Monday, the bailout looks like it won't pass. The big Wall Street investment houses start dumping stocks like crazy and the DJIA goes down 777 points. Americans and Congresspeople panic, "Oh look, see what will happen if we don't pass this bailout, we'll have a Wall Street crash!" So based on that, enough support builds to pass the bailout Friday afternoon. And as of this writing the DJIA is DOWN about 30 points. Now, since this bailout was SOOOO important to keep our investments safe, why is the stock market going down? Well, because this bailout never had anything to do with the average investor on Main Street, it really was all about a Bush administration gift of $700 BILLION of his wealthy Wall Street supporters.

Comment: Many politicians are no friend to the Payday Loans industry. In order to raise voter support they choose to ignore what is best for the citizens. Some states including, Georgia, North Carolina, and Oregon have completely driven out the payday loan companies. Politicians still choose to disregard the benefits of the industry even though statistics in these states show a spike in bankruptcy filings, bounced checks and foreclosures. Even though these negative statistics have come to light, several governors are still trying to follow suit. If the efforts to wipe the industry completely off the map prove successful, some possible repercussions might consist of increased unemployment rates, more debt, more foreclosures and an even more inapt economy.

Comment: n a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide the largest morgage bank in the world,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch which are 3 out of the top 5 wall street firms. Also, Fanny and Freddy Mae which hold 50 percent of the home loans in the United States.
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. If they didn't the entire financially system would virtually shut down, the stock market would crash and we would suffer beyond what any of us have seen before.

McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.

Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He either didn't care or didn't realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime.
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a tanking economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?

The chairman of McCains campaign recently said that people don't vote on issues they vote on a personality composite. Which means he is trying to sell you personality instead of results.

He believes people will vote against their own interests.

Hold them accountable NOW!
Elect Obama Biden 2008

What is 700 Billion divided by the population of the US? Bet my shair would make my mortgage not only good paper but paid off, freeing up a lot of credit for the Banks. Setting aside the inflationary effect, the money I would spend not paying a mortgage would drive tax revenues through the roof. I think this is a better plan.

How about a story on Biden's long standing relationship to the credit card industry, the stalled credit card reform bill, passed by house but dead in the Senate, where Biden "works." (And opposed by Bush. Idiot)

Comment: All those who did the courageous thing of voting NO last time must stay strong and vote NO again. Our representatives in congress are supposed to do just that, REPRESENT, and overwhelmingly the people say NO!!!!

Has anyone even remotely entertained the thought that those that got themselves in trouble maybe should get themselves out of it?? How about an immediate 1-time tax of 5% on all of wall street , all of the financial sectors and institutions that got themselves in this fiasco. That should raise at least a trillion dollars that they could use to fix themselves instead of sticking it to us taxpayers and our future generations.
I would like to see some comments on this idea.

Comment: The rescue plan now seems to have been bloated by 120 billion in earmarks over 5 years. Does that mean John McCain will vote against it ? If he vtes for it does that mean he will make the name of every senator who tagged an earmark to the bill known? If John McCain is going to veto every bill with earmarks as president would he be a hypocrite if he voted for this one with earmarks. Should McCain lead a mutiny against the bill because it has earmarks. Let us know what you are going to do my anti earmark maverick McCain.

$100.00 dollars a week in about 6 months time. That takes a lot out of the public's pockets, not to mention what it does to the price of durable goods being shipped that is passed on along to us.

Comment: BAIL OUT HIGHWAY 61
(to Highway 61, Bob Dylan)
Revised Lyrics WilliamBanzai7

Oh Bush said to Paulson, "Lets have us some fun"
Hank says, "Man, you must be puttin' me on"
Bush say, "No." Hank say, "What?"
Bush say, "You can do what you want Hank, but
The next time you see me comin' you better run"
Well Hank says, "Where do you want this financial chicanery done?"
Bush says, "Out on Bailout Highway 61."

Well Dick the Gorilla he had a bloody nose
Dr. Ben said they wouldn't give him and Lehman no clothes
He asked poor Ben where can I go
Ben said there's only one place I know
Dick said tell me quick man I got to run
Ben just pointed with his FED gun
And said that way down on Bailout Highway 61.

Well the Goldman banker said to Hank the King
I got 20 Billion AIG red white and blue credit default strings
And a thousand telephones that don't ring
Do you know where I can get rid of these things
And Hank the King said let me think for a minute son
And he said yes I think it can be easily done
Just take everything down to Bailout Highway 61.

Now the Senator's daughter on the twelfth night
Told the her Senator father that things just weren't right
My money market's complexion is much too white
He said come here and step into the light he says hmm you're right
Let me tell the Senator mother this has to be done
But the Senator's mother was with the Senator's son
And they were both out on Bailout Highway 61.

Now the wily Wall Street scoundrel he was very bored
He was tryin' to create a new financial wardrobe
He found a seedy promoter who nearly fell off the floor
He said I never engaged in this kind of thing before
But yes I think it can be very easily done
We'll just put some ads out on the Street
And do it once again on Bailout Highway 61.

Sadly they are counting on revolt so they can unleash an already deployed US Army combat Brigade on us. Why should any honest citizen vote when they know their vote has already been stolen by Obama's vote fraud thug machine? He has Democrat insiders in the DA's office threatening anyone who tells the truth about this sick little commie psychopath.

America has been robbed and is now being coerced into borrowing in order to further compensate the robbers. If this isn't enough evidence that Republic-rats are pandering our future to globalist parasites, then we really are a nation of fools who deserve what is coming. Savor our slavery we earned it.

Comment: Typically biased Time article. "The market has since recovered slightly...". Yes, if you call recovering over half of the loss in one day a "slight recovery."

Lots of attempts to connect the failure of the vote in the house to McCain, but no mention of the number of Democrats who voted against it. Where was Lord Obama?

• Posted By: doctorfixit @ 10/01/2008 10:49:56 PM

Comment: The Senate is obviously many times more corrupt than the House of Representatives, and it is far more protected from the voters, by reason of John McCain's Incumbent Protection Act, aka Campaign Finance Reform. Now will come the true test of whether a free nation can survive when the political elites are determined to make us a nation of slaves. I have no doubt that our government will continue to enslave us with false promises of comfort and fraudulent prosperity. The day of reckoning is only postponed. And we know what will happen the next time the government creates another "crisis" - another incremental tightening of the shackles. The political elites are the enemy of the people. The inhabitants of the power centers of Washington and New York think we are stupid sheep who will gladly walk into the slaughter pen. I hope I live to see the day that the knives come out and it is the slaughterer who has his throat slit.
