Palin Reignites The Culture War

This commentary by Eleanor Clift is without question the most articulate, clear thinking, refreshing piece I have read in the entire election season.

Every four years I watch words being redefined to mean the opposite of what they had always previously meant. The decision of which person to choose as the new president is reduced to shouts of "Hooray for my side!" like two football teams in the playoffs. Integrity is labeled "elitism". Intelligence is sneered at. Fairness is thrown to the wind. What has always been considered to be good (hard work, fairness, honor) is turned on its head and made bad... and vice-versa.

Thank you Eleanor for bringing some much needed sense to the discussion. I will be watching eagerly for more from you.

Don t you think it is the most UNPATRIOTIC thing the republicans have done to this country yet in the whole history of the USA, the complete destruction of all systems, economy, schools, environment, law of the jungle and the list is long....
And you want them to continue? It is a matter of ego or selfishness but not patriotism to vote republican with a complete incompetent VP.
Democrats have always bring prosperity, peace to the USA. It is about Democrat???s values and policies that have proven to work well for EVERYONE not for the few like republicans policies.

Come on now Eleanor, Biden was the one who was short on facts. Biden told lie after lie changing what he was saying about Obama just a few short weeks ago. Palin called him out on whoppers all debate long. Biden was the one using the same old liberal rhetoric lamely attempting to link McCain with Bush.

The "culture wars" is the most divisive and unnecessary thing present in modern politics because they advert progress and create a divisive atmosphere. Its propagators are selfish, manipulative and hurting America because they are not finding solutions to our problems but rather artificially dividing America so they can create their side. Doesn't anyone care about America or are we just trying to get what we can out of it before it dies?

The chairman of McCains campaign recently said that people don't vote on issues they vote on a personality composite. Which means he is trying to sell you personality instead of results.
He believes people will vote against their own interests.

People say they are tired of cultural war BUT they fall into it. Just turn the TV every time their is a dirty attack and you will see if the power of people is not greater!!!!
Look at the 2 recent debates, both Obama and Biden were sober, poised, educated , YES PRESIDENTIAL, and McCain and Palin were just like 2 barking chihuahua, attacking and lying. See how different both administration would be..............

Elitist, n. : 1) Anyone who demostrates a solid grasp of the facts on an issue. 2) Anyone who demonstrates sound reasoning ability. 3) Anyone who doesn't believe that women, non-christians, homosexuals, and non-whites should be second-class citizens. 4) Anyone who recognizes the constitutionally guaranteed right of law-abiding citizens to be free of harrassment from self-righteous busybodies and other self-styled "moralists".

Elitism is when you own 4 houses and don???t know how many you own (JM); elitism is when you say "the economy is fundamentally strong (JM); elitism is when you assume that what works in Alaska will work for the nation (SP); elitism is thinking just because you are white, you don???t have to be smart ??? if SP were Black, she wouldn???t even be on the ticket; elitism is thinking that by give enormous tax breaks to the greedy top 10% of the people who own this country, the benefits will somewhow TRICKLE DOWN to the rest of us

I am so sick and tired of the culture wars. The people who buy into it are shallow. It is ridiculous for one person to think they are better than someone else because of race, religion, etc.

Elitism is when you own 4 houses. elitism is when you say "the economy is fundamentally strong-John McCain; , elitism is when you asume that what works in Alaska will work for the nation-Palin;, elitism is when because you are a white woman you don't have to be smart, if you were Black woman, you would have to be 100 times smarter; elitism is assuming that the greedy dollars of the top 10% will TRICKLE DOWM to the rest of us.

I am mildly surprised to read a column from Eleanor Clift that is reasonable and seemingly even objective and well balanced. I don't ever recall reading one like that written by her before. Good job.

Phil Gramm: John, several big hedge funds are about to fail and there???s likely to be chaos when the market opens! Oil is at $500 a barrel!!!

I suggest Miss Clift speak about Sarah to her colleague Miss Deveny. Miss Deveny is in the process of understanding what she gave up when she signed on to the Feminazi's and man-haters.

And Miss Deveny, who supported Hillary, fell in love with Sarah. Sarah is the young and beautiful lady who will lead you aging Harpies back to a sense of Feminine Grace. And with Palin being a shadow President and real president, the next 16 years will see a Rise again of Real America.

If Miss Clift and Miss Deveny do not change, they will be left behind.

Of course there is always Russia for you.

In the NYT piece about her political history, there was an anecdote I haven't seen anyone pick up on. Her friend and campaign manager for the mayor's race in 1996 said to her "you could be governor in 10 years" and she replied "I want to be president." If that is true, and I see no reason to doubt it, it means that she has wanted to be president for 12 years but has not felt it was necessary to learn ONE DAMN THING that she would need to know to do the job.
