      The Republicans played a big part in the financial crisis. One of them was Henry Paulson. BTW his company Goldman Sachs was proven in an investigation to have cooked the books for Fannie Mae in 2001 so that their CEOs could get big salaries.

      Henry Paulson under Bush just engineered for us taxpayers to shell out $700 billion to bail out the fat cats that were Paulson's partners and colleagues when he was running Goldman Sachs. This is Socialism for the crooks that were the engineers of this country???s financial debacle. These Wall Street fat cats who were Paulson's partners and colleagues and not most taxpayers, are his real constituents (although technically he has no consitutent since he wasn???t elected; Bush appointed him.) I, for one, certainly don???t want him being in charge of $700 billion of tax payers??? money!

      In a Bloomberg article by Mark Pittman 11/5/07, Goldman Sachs made $3 trillion dollars in the previous 3 years with Paulson in charge, off of subprime mortages. Investment firms gorged themselves off these bad mortages by repackaging them into securities and selling them to unsuspecting investors.

      The ironic thing is that while Goldman under Paulson was feeding off of and into the mortgage debacle in this way, it was feeding off of it another way. Paulson knew the mortage market was going to crash, so he bet against the mortgages by setting up a fund called the Paulson Credit Opportunities Fund that sold insurance policies against bad debt. In 2007 the fund returned 600% or $4 billion! While this was going on Paulson was on the news networks telling everyone that the housing crisis was "contained??? and that he had a lot of confidence in the mortgage market..

      He was against a bill by Brad Miller and Barney Frank to make firms that package and sell subprime mortgages liable for damages if loans violate minimum standards, including ensuring a borrower's reasonable ability to repay.

      He is a fat cat crook whose interests lie on Wall Street and who has been stealing your money and my money. And John McCain wants to keep him around Washington if McCain becomes president !!(Wall Street Journal, 10/4/08)

    Apparently Joe Six Pack buys tickets to this type of show. Palin appears to me as someone overly confident, working hard to hide a sarcastic nature that borders with obnoxious, combined with a supreme sense of arrogance. Obviously, she happens to be a world class expert at both the art of seduction and public speaking. I can see why McCain picked her. Frauds who wear similar feathers, flock together.

    I was waiting and anticipating that this would be a great debate; great enough to sway me back into the fold. However, I was thoroughly disappointed in Governor Palin???s performance. Such a lightweight; however if she was there to appease their conservative base, she may have done that, but little else. That is to say, her presentation style left a lot to be desired. The winks and the use of colloquial jargon was way over the top and it wore very thin like a cheap suit. She has a lot of people hoodwinked. But we all know why she was picked. More importantly, when she commented that she would not answer the questions the way that Senator Joe and the moderator wanted her to respond??? and then proceeded to respond with an answer that did not address the question, that was it for me.
    I cannot imagine she will tell the ???Troopergate??? Special Prosecutor which questions she is going to answer. Such imprudence!

    Governor Palin does not appeal to this average American. Palin's financials are due out today - correct? (Just needed that disclosure extension until after the debate?) I think we'll see that she is way above the average income of the audience to which she is playing. A household income of $250,000 and a private plane is NOT average to anyone I know. Perhaps a new definition of ???average??? is in order or did I miss a memo?

    Can I call you, Joe? A rehearsed line straight from Sedona that later allowed Palin to quip, ???Say it isn???t so, Joe.??? There she goes again reaching backwards to the 1921 White Sox and Shoeless Joe Jackson . . .

    I don't want a VP on either ticket who winks at cameras, gives a 'shout out' to 3rd graders and speaks as if she were text messaging a teenager. Palin's presentation is may be 'homey' to some but I find it patronizing. If I want to talk to a soccer mom I'll go to a soccer match.

    She couldn't reference an article from a newspaper, let along an Article from the Constitution.


    It is pretty important of a detail. The US Constitution is our sacred document of government. So... it's really, really important.

    And. calling Governor Palin a "barbie" shows your antagonism towards women. You are either jealous and envious or you are just misogynistic. Either way, she is a beautiful woman and I'm sure you wish you were half as pleasant a personality as she is.

      actually, article 1 of the constitution absolutely does cover the vice presidency. what is frightening is that they allow you to vote.

      biden is a lawyer as well as his sons. obama is a constitution scholar and professor at a 1st tier ranked law school. yeah... you're extremely ignorant.

      mccain has the least education of all candidates with palin being second to last. neither mccain or palin studied law. those are the two we should be scared of.

        Article 1 lists the VP as a member of the senate.
        Article 2 lists the VP as part of the Executive.

    I think most of us average Americans would be better equipped to run the government than the ones who have mismanaged it so far-- Democrats and Republicans.

    I know that every month I balance my budget or I make cuts in spending. I have a medical account for illness and meds. I can stay out of other people's personal lives unless they come on my property and affect my life and family.

    That is what our government should be. And that is what we need. More moms. More dads. Teachers, small-business owners, and such. Palin is more than qualified. More so than obambi who has never had any executive experience.

If I remember my history there use to be a time, when this country was fist founded, when politicians would come to the capitol to handle the country's business and then they went home to their farms or businesses. I think we would be much better off if being a politician wasn't a career. I think our politicians would be much more anchored in REALITY!

        ummm actually.. our founding fathers are what souther hicks would call "pretty boys". our founding fathers were highly educated men who enjoyed violin, wine, fine cheese, the arts, reading... they were scholars.. they were disciplined.. they had hunger for knowledge....they were scientists.. they wrote and spoke with eloquence. they had beautiful handwriting and enjoyed being refined.. it was none of this "you betcha" garbage followed with a pathetic wink or "say it aint so, joe".

        they also didn't get their hands dirty. they had slaves working their land for them.

          Ummm... actually you aren't entirely right. Some of our founders were farmers with precarious existences. And some of our founders were silversmiths, merchants, shipbuilders, etc. They hardly lived a life of quiet refinement as you make it sound.
          Not all of them owned slaves.

    I wish to see a Foreign-Born, Gay American President. I am a visionary who brings his dreams into action, and if shall politics deny me my legal human right to lead, I will be just as happy to instill the seed of passion and thirst into the younger generations to never being afraid of anyone or anything in the pursue of Justice, Fairness, and Social Equality with the emancipation of Human Rights and Dignity and the fundamental embracing of Mercy, Compassion and Love. And to always understand that without Forgiveness we can only move backwards. Yes, I see the United States with a highly amended Constitution that has aptly adapted to a changing more civilized world. Or else, I see a United States of America with a brand new Constitution, whether out of inevitable unwanted chaos and loss, or preferably out of the fabric of the contributions of peaceful co-existence to the betterment of the human race.

    I want a world of Justice led by the U.S.A. I want a New Order for the World where the leaders not only claim support for the human rights and civil liberties of their own good causes, but also support those of other just causes, instead of opposing other fair causes either due to ignorance or a selfish-seeking to secure a position in office.

    (Part V)

    So I thought, my life has been very unstable, with a chaotic academic history and the victim of injustices that the world cannot possibly conceive regardless of how rationally one may wish to convey such experiences to them. And I say to myself, well, if I want action I need to be the action, and if I cannot make a choice for voting because both candidates are essentially social criminals, then I must act upon the fabric of justice and create for myself the moral and ethical models that could potentially change the true appeal of fairness, and which would therefore provide for a candidate worthy of my vote, assuming that his/her overall agenda was equally embracing of human and social rights in other areas. So I momentarily decide to double major in Political Science or International Relations, and give my current classes in Criminal Justice a second chance, and then I realize that before I can run for presidency as a Gay man, I need to amend the Constitution to a higher standard of justice by permitting foreign-born U.S. Citizens to run for the North American Presidency.
