at this time in history, America needs to leave the carnival tent, the side-show of manipulation. the average American needs to ask: 'how do i want my tax dollars spent? health care or bail-out? infra-structure or 3rd world propaganda? schools or ideology?' these issues are clear. if we desire a better America, we must pay for it.
sarah palin said, 'paying taxes is not patriotic.' i say this woman is wrong.

According to many, she didn???t make a complete fool of herself once again. That performance standard alone tells it all. She repeated the text they prepped her with, not being capable of adding anything more to the debate but the usual clichés about being Joe Six Pack, a Maverick, and a hockey mom. People that support her because she is similarly uninformed must ask themselves if they are ready for the White House too. What an absurd measure of leadership. She never once offered any policy differences between McCain Palin and Bush. Biden , on the other hand, pressed the attack with clear policy statements, and facts - mostly correct.. The differences between candidates were stark, one seasoned and knowledgeable, the other a wind-up Pit Bull with Lipstick who hasn???t a clue about how poorly prepared she really is. In this regard, more than 2700 concerned medical doctors placed a full page add in the New York Times today asking for McCain???s full medical report in light of his bout with highly lethal invasive melanoma. The unobstructed release of this report for expert review is more critical than ever.

The American Democrat - Misguided and Blind and Full of Hate - No other country in the World can a person Like Palin be plucked from the far NW and be asked to run for the VP of the United States - Like her or not - The OPPORTUNITY is beyond words ??? Yet, like I always say - To Republicans, Every day is the 4th of JULY and to the DEMS its always April the 15th

Palin's demeanor during the entire debate was disgraceful. Her compulsive fake grin and frequent winking was distasteful and even insulting. In desperate attempt to create an image of "likeable person" to cover her shallowness, she made the mockery of the dignity of the office she is running for and of this great nation in general.

Theres no culture war, it's economic. it's about the top 5 percent of earners ,who will be the only ones to benefit under John McCain ,vs the other 95 percent who pay for those peoples tax breaks. It's time that we were all taxed fairly,John McCain does not believe in that. Obama does. Talking like a moron and winking at the camera does not make you "one of us", treating us with dignity and caring about all of our futures, not just the wealthiest does. Based on that ,Obama and Biden have my vote.

Gee whiz, I'm shocked to see yet another ridiculously biased negative article about Palin. You leftist media types don't even try to act objective anymore. Give me a freakin' break.

All hail Obama - saviour of the universe!

Livy said a great state is either at war with an external enemy, or it's at war with itself. The US is fighting two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and maybe about to go to war with another two in Pakistan and Iran, plus a 60 year War on Drugs that hasn't produced a single victory. The American people as a whole have no stomach to fight the Culture Wars, except for those of us who are so frivolous and single minded as to imagine we're living in a state of peace. If the Republicans think they're going to get real traction out of Sarah Palin to carry on the Jerry Falwell/Pat Buchanan style Culture Wars, they're sadly mistaken.

What a bunch of hogwash, Mrs. Clift. If you have 85% of the population wants a change, that isn't a culture war that is a revolution against Bush/Cheney.If you have 85% of the population who want jobs, affordable healthcare, social security, and educations, that isn't a culture, that is a rebellion against the Bush/Cheney Republican party. If you want integrity, brains, and 21st century policies, that isn't a culture war, that is the new Obama/biden administration.

What a bunch of bull! There will be no culture wars because the majority of Republicans have no culture. You cannot buy culture and class with money. There are poor people in America who have more class than the majority of the rich and there are many wealthy people who have culture and class but it's not because of their money. There is nothing wrong with conservatives. There is something wrong with a certain group of extreme right-wing republicans who seem to be trying to change America into a facist state. Get them out of office now; there will never be a better opportunity. They thought they were going to be in power for a long time but they are going to be running and hiding after November 4, when they are going to have to start paying for the crimes they have commited and the damage done to our country.

Now that the dust has cleared and the debate is over. Joe Biden is the one with the most inaccuracies and the "deer in the headlights" appearance. Sarah Palin was informed, articulate and had the power all women crave. She is energetic and gives you the feeling that if elected she will go to Washington, roll up her sleaves, kick butt and take names. Hopefully the days of the elitist politicians will be replaced by people who really understand where the "middle class" is coming from. And dare I say it on this liberal leaning site? God bless the McCain/Palin ticket. We need more Americans like them!

correction.. biden can take the credit on this one. we all know he could have crushed her. but, he's a gentleman. he didn't want to embarrass the woman more than she is already for being nothing but a wind up doll. he could have tko'd SO MANY times last night... and people like you are still giving her credit. how pathetic. biden let her ramble the rehearsed nonsense and never really engaged her at all. it would have been a slaughter. it would have been like a 6th grader taking candy from a baby. palin was nervous as heck while biden just cruised on by at about 2%... cool as a cucumber. i mean.. he didn't even have to try. that was a cakewalk for him.. imagine if he'd used 20% or 75%... sarah would've cried and ran off stage.

Her silly winking was a major turn off but her lack of knowledge was scary. She had NO understanding of question about Cheney and expanding the role of the V.P.She just tried to fill up the space like you do when your giving a book report and you have not read the book!! She said that she was annoyed during the Katie Couric interviews I think she hid it well as she came off as the most ignorant politican I have ever seen interviewed!!! Even if Mccain had the perfect record she would be the sole reason for not electing him!!!!

PLPLPJ you are a LEMMING. It's people like you who are going to destroy this country. If you can't see that Palin was reading from que cards, you were blind. She did not answer the questions she were asked. If she did, she would have made a fool of herself again just like the interviews she did on TV. What a joke this PALIN is. A vote for her, is a vote to end life in the USA like we know it. Get real people, she is a phoney. Oh, by the way, I'm a REPUBLICAN. A vote for McCain, is a vote for another 4 yrs of BUSH. Why would anyone want that? Look at the mess we are in now.

biden was such a gentleman. he let the little girl say her piece and "say it aint so, joe". he didn't even correct her when she said the wrong names and other gaffes. i understand that she appears smart to some of you that don't know the facts but biden let it go.. he knew the smart people at home caught all of it.

i respect biden's restraint from making her look foolish. she openned herself up to so many potential knock out blows because she was so ill informed...and biden restrained himself. he didn't want to embarrass her too much. he did a great job.

she reminds of a wind-up doll that can only say a few phrases. she's pathetic. there isn't an original thought in that big, empty head of hers.

She is the "W" in lipstick and a skirt. She is surrounded by Cheney/Rove operatives. Their "sock puppet."

I'm confused. The pundits keeps saying that Palin's "Everywoman act plays well." With whom? What's the evidence? I don't know anybody who wants to be talked down to like that -- the winks, mugging, golly gee you betcha. But maybe that just means that I'm not a Real American.

you're absolutely right. actually, the response was negative when she pulled her folksy crap - especially when it came to women. we don't buy that cutesy crap. it might work on some old fuddy duddy, i guess.
