Sarah Palin is like a breath of fresh air to those of us who feel that there is no one else in this election who understands the challenges facing our family as she does. She impressed me and my family in her debate performance, and we are excited to vote to send her to Washington! Every time a condescending and contemptuous remark is made about her by the talking heads, it only endears her to us more--why? Because we know you would say the very same thing about us.

Sarah Palin has also ignited Red State Feminism, which is determined to take feminism from the grasp of those who tie it to a policy agenda we do not believe in. In one move, John McCain banished the misogyny style of conservatism and undercut the hegemony of Blue State Feminism. Sarah Palin, sincerest congratulations! You go, girl!

      100% in agreement with you.

Who knew that all these years, those who fought for women's rights were only fighting for rights for half the women.... I had no idea til Palin was nominated. Imagine my disappointment. Women's issues suddenly became "democratic women's issues" and did not include Republican women. I am astounded.

Thanks for the link to your site.

Palin has to watch her step sarah has a lot of things she did as govener, like stole a mans property to build a sports complex on and the state is getting sued. It seems Sarah can do whatever she wants.Sarah reminds me of a woman who hangs in bars the way she talks.

    • Posted By: HappyDay41 @ 10/06/2008 3:18:06 PM

Sounds like something my mom would say. "women who hang in bars" is a throw back to the past, like in the 1950's.

  • Posted By: dmhmoses @ 10/06/2008 12:18:57 PM

Palin is a disgrace to women. I as a women like my friends even love and respect them who are working moms as I too was, but I would not vote for them to be VP. And cute as Palin think she is she is not Erin Brockvich or Julia Roberts. Never once did she follow the rules of the debate or mention a plan, just her coach and practice speech of which she knows nothing about. She asked her own questions and answered it herself. This was a DEBATE not her promotional campain. She was given a STEP to play with the big boys and she ran away with it with her sacrasim smiles and remarks as Mccain did in his debate not looking once at Obama so disrespectful and for Palin to ask to call Senator Biden Joe. If it had been the other way around and Senator Biden treated Palin like Hilary they would have been all over him "mistreating little miss nobody. As I see it she wants to be the Presdent. She could be too( 'HEART BEAT AWAY') then all those dummies out there can Wish for glasses and dresses because there will be no jobs no monies to pay them. The people who are uneducated, prejudice and rightiousness will vote for MCcain and Palin and believe it or not most are poor people, red necks and hillbellys.Wait left out the very Rich who are laughing.

    • Posted By: HappyDay41 @ 10/06/2008 3:17:00 PM

You state: "The people who are uneducated, prejudice and rightiousness will vote for MCcain and Palin and believe it or not most are poor people, red necks and hillbellys.Wait left out the very Rich who are laughing."

I'm confused. ARe you saying everyone who votes for obama is intelligent and non-prejudiced (like you, perhaps?). And, are you saying that everyone who votes for McCain are "rednecks, hillbillies, and the poor"? (By the way, Intelligent one-- hillbIllies is not spelled hillbELLYs!, but what do I know, Im stOOOpid). And, oh Non-Prejudiced One, are you saying that the poor people are NOT voting for Obama and only the Rich people are?

I'm sorry, but in my stupidity I cannot follow your logic.

What's worse than blatant news bias? Veiled bias. What's worse than both? Doing it to sell magazines.
The issues are simple. If you believe that taxes will be lowered AND we can get all kinds of free stuff form the government: Then vote for the political promises of Obama.

  • Posted By: snarfhound @ 10/06/2008 9:12:24 AM

Ayers, Rev. Wright, Rezko and a wife who has only in the last 6 months become proud of this country... These are the people Obama has chosen to be around.... his choices leave a lot to be desired. He has succeeded in politics by playing the system - the system his supporters claim he will change. It is difficult to understand his supporters do not see him for what he is - another career politician created by a system that is broken. And in this specific case, the Illinois polictical machine, which is even more suspect given the history of the state policitics (governors be prosecuted, "Vote Once, Vote Often", etc... )

The roots that fed Obama's career had nothing to do with change and the people he had surround himself (until they fell under recent public scrutiny) were all about divisiveness.

And one last thing... IF anybody was actually paying attention these past eight years they may have noticed that McCain and Bush were not exactly friends. How the media has now tied the Busch necktie around McCain and how they claim "more of the same" is beyond misrepresentation in the media. It is just plain lying.

people like you are scary.it is so obvious that mccain and palin are not ready to lead.look where they are going again, after saying time after time in her debate with sen biden "stop deal with the past, look to the future",they are bringing from the past, rev wright, mr ayers.does all your friends share your veiws?can i blame you for what some of your friends do?have you ever told any of your friends "no you are wrong for
doing Or saying that"?. wake up, let go of the hate, look beyond color my friend, trust me you wont be sorry.gov palin can't hold a regular conversation, think of all the intelligent people that have to update the president, then think of her sitting behind the desk in the oval office......if that don't scare you, obvious your not saying country first.

  • Posted By: HappyDay41 @ 10/03/2008 6:25:42 PM

And... y'all can call me any name in the book, but it doesn't change the FACT that obiden clearly stated that the Exeuctive branch is covered in Article 1 of the Constitution.

Talk about someone being an IDIOT!!!!!!

How can he uphold and protect the constitution if he doesn't understand it?

    • Posted By: terrifiedinvegas @ 10/03/2008 6:32:24 PM

Are you seriously going to criticize Biden's confusion when referencing Article 1 rather than Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution, as opposed to that disgraceful performance from Talking Point Barbie?!

She couldn't reference an article from a newspaper, let along an Article from the Constitution.

      • Posted By: HappyDay41 @ 10/06/2008 10:19:31 AM

Why is it acceptable to insult women by calling them 'barbie'?

And... who cares? She is smarter than Biden (10th grade, not 8th!)

And... how many people are rushing out to get comb-over hairstyles and narrow, squinty eyes like Biden?
Compared to how many are wanting glasses like Palin, shoes like Palin, dress suits like Palin, and lipstick like Palin?

How many little girls are wanting to be pretty, smart and strong because of Palin compared to how many little boys are dressing like Biden , dye their hair grey and shave in a bald spot, and wanting to use run-on sentences?

Its a cultural trend she has set off.

Clearly birdie_spice is a middle aged woman with diminishing looks and just hates the fact that Palin is middle-aged and gorgeous.

    • Posted By: birdy_spice@yahoo.com @ 10/03/2008 7:08:38 PM

the part he was talking about in the constitution is ARTICLE 1, SECTION 3, CLAUSE 4.

GO READ IT YOU DUMB HILLBILLY. THAT was the part he was talking about last night. jeez.

      • Posted By: HappyDay41 @ 10/06/2008 10:15:01 AM

        What is a 'hillbilly;?

Are you making a cultural, or an ethnic slur?

  • Posted By: HappyDay41 @ 10/04/2008 12:28:50 AM

The thing about these blogs is that most of you are just asinine. And you are mean.

Let me just say this: regardless of what you might say, or how many hours you blog, I'm voting for McCain - Palin and I pray for my country and the world that obama doesnt win.

All the college students I know are voting for McCAin, except for two girls and they cant say why they are voting obama but they are.

All the Democrats I know are either voting for McCain or they are not voting.

All the Republicans I know are voting McCain.

When I drive for work (8 hour round trips each day), I see 5:1 signs for McCain over Obama dotting the road side. So....

I don't know how ACORN is going to steal this election for the messiah, but .... all of you who vote for him are delusional, and you hate America

    • Posted By: Keepinguponfacts123 @ 10/04/2008 2:41:43 PM

Where do you get these delusions from? Why do you seem so against Obama and NOT FOR McCain? You seem very hateful. Where does that come from? You need to explain yourself. Or I will have to come to my own conclusions.

      • Posted By: HappyDay41 @ 10/06/2008 10:13:55 AM

        What a stupid question.

Where do I get these 'delusions' from/?

The comments and political opinions of people I talk to are not delusioins. Their feelings are valid to me. And they do NOT like obama... they dont trust him, they can ferret out the truth about him.... or at least, contradictory statements about him that the media will not report.

I don't watch Fox news as some on here have said.

I am an activist--- a community organizer actually-- who does a great deal of community outreach for voter education. On my college campus, the opinions I have stated that other people feel, are true.

ARgue all you want, but they are not voting for this guy.

  • Posted By: HappyDay41 @ 10/03/2008 6:18:54 PM

So many on here are concerned about if a McCain/Palin ticket is elected and you do the (boo) scare tactics of "youre gonna be sorry!"

Well back atcha. If an obiden/omaba ticket is elected, you are the ones gonna be sorry.

You take a man from Africa who hates America and give him the keys to the WHite House? He was raised by a mother who hated America; raised by a step-dad who was Muslim. He chronicles his hatred in his books and you want us to trust him?
    He lies through his teeth.
He's gone by so many names he probably doesn't know who he is.
    He has no record.
He has repeatedly taken legislative credit for other people's work.
He abandoned his mother when she was dying of cancer.
He states in his own words that he rejected his mother's race.
He is an empty suit with ties to a Chicago machinery known for its criminal ties.

I will never vote for a lying, parasitic, opportunisitc, crook.

    • Posted By: mkohagura @ 10/03/2008 6:36:33 PM

How sad. It's obvious how your source of information only comes from Fox News or lie-filled books like Obamanation. If you bother to read other sources of news, you'd know better.

      • Posted By: birdy_spice@yahoo.com @ 10/03/2008 7:22:17 PM

really? keating 5 anyone? oh.. and let's not forget how mccain cheated on his faithful wife and mother of his children upon his return from pow camp because she wasn't as pretty due to her injuries from a car accident. did you know that mccain had it so cushy over there in hanoi that he could receive messages from his family and took visitors? did you know that even though his wife was hurt very badly, she never ever allowed her accident or condition to be reported to mccain while he was in prison because unselfishly, she didn't want him to worry about her.

so how does the guy repay her? he comes home and starts pouncing on every little tart that came his way. then after meeting the very rich and politically connected cindy, he told his wife he wanted a divorce. aftr the divorce was finalized, the married cindy, 18 years his junior, the very next month.

obama/biden are good family men. you can see the quality of these men through the successes of their children and family life. michelle obama doesn't have a drug problem like cindy.. michelle didn't steal from her charities like cindy did. obama is faithful to his wife. biden is a good husband and father whose kids have gone on to become lawyers and social workers. biden's children are independent. mccain's kids, at least the ones that don't hate him for being a cheating jerk, reap the benefits of nepotism and work in the family business and campaign. palin's daughter, obviously, will be living off of mom and pops for a while.

these people can't even run their families so why would i think they can lead the nation?

        • Posted By: Nashville Girl @ 10/03/2008 8:45:07 PM

First, I am a die-hard Obama supporter, but saying McCain had it "cushy" as a prisoner of war is insulting to both him and all of our servicemen. Bringing up a moment in Cindy McCain's life were she got caught up in something bad and made mistakes is also unfair. There are a lot of good people out there who are recovering addicts . I get just as mad at the democrats who spout nonsense as I do the republicans. If EVERYONE would just stick to the issues we would be a much happier nation. That said, I was appalled by the comments of HappyDay41. I am sure he or she gets their "news" from forwarded emails full of lies.

          • Posted By: Bajangal @ 10/04/2008 11:41:29 AM

You need to read the truth about McCain's POW experience in Viet Nam. For some UNKNOWN reason the truth about McCain in Vietnam has been suppressed by the MSM and apparently will continue to be suppressed. Talk about traitors-- he is clearly one.

            • Posted By: HappyDay41 @ 10/06/2008 10:10:33 AM

Actually, I got my news from Obama's books.

And, from comments from Senators, state and federal, who have first hand knowledge of his antics.

  • Posted By: sundark @ 10/05/2008 9:03:31 PM

Come on guys ! Did you watch Obama stuttering, stammering and clueless against McCain in the 1st debate. It's only CNN, CBS and MSNBC - liberal media - Obama at any cost crowd - scored him as the winner. Infact, Palin was more coherent than Obama.
Obama is like Bush, if it is pre-written speech - he looks great. Put him in townhall/debate scenario, he comes across as pretty 'green'.
Whatever polls suggest, keep one thing in mind that 30% of Hillary supportes/true democrats like us will never vote for Obama - because he played race card to make Clintons look anti-blocks. Very calculated move, dirty politics. Pounced on Bill Clinton whenever he said anything supporting his wife. Totally unfair !
Now he needs her, he started to praise about Clinton years. When running in Primary, he never mentioned once about Clinton's golden 8 years - rather he spoke about Reagan. True democrats are not fools !
I would rather vote for McCain who is a centrist, maveric and a straight shooter.
The media is attacking Palin they did against Hillary. She won the debate with Style, McCain won his with substance.

The question is not about Palins inexperience - it is Obama's!

Don't get surprised if MCCain and Palin wins the Whitehouse ! Highly probable !

    • Posted By: fedupinpa @ 10/06/2008 9:39:13 AM

What debate were you watching????????????? Obviously not the same one that the rest of the country was watching.

    • Posted By: chuck from sc @ 10/05/2008 9:23:48 PM

Wow... You really watch a lot of fox and ignore everythign that does not agree with your point of view. McCain/Palin are slipping in every poll. Palin has yet to look inteligent in an interview. She is an insult to the nation and an embarassment to everyone who believes that she will ever be ready to be vice president. The statement that a person is making when they support Palin is that "I love my party more than my nation." Palin has the potential to seriously damage our image to the rest of the world. No one will take her serious especially since she is very uneducated.

      • Posted By: ifjed @ 10/05/2008 9:30:06 PM

Unfortunately, Chuck, you are wrong; McCain and Palin couldn't do anything to damage our image abroad that Bush hasn't already done. However, McCain and Palin certainly could sink our economy into a full-scale 1929 depression while encouraging our enemies to believe that they actually can defeat us.

    • Posted By: ifjed @ 10/05/2008 9:25:07 PM

Obama was actually speaking from knowledge and memory sometimes and not reading all his remarks or giving canned campaign responses as did McCain. And any time Palin couldn't answer a question during the debate (which was most of the time), she simply said, "I'm a maverick" and then switched the topic. I'm not sure what McCain and Palin should do after the election: try to get Jim Carrey to put them in the next Dumb and Dumber film or maybe try for regular spots in My name is Earl (along with Fred Thompson and Rudy Giulani).

  • Posted By: dcwblackhorse @ 10/05/2008 10:38:13 PM

She is NOT, I repeat NOT every woman!!! I find her totally and completely offensive! The fact that she is deliberately interjecting cultural issues into such a serious time in our country moves her even lower in my opinion than she was before, if that's possible. I don't know one woman in my circle of friends (both conservative and liberal) who think she's anything more than a token pick and completely unqualified to be VP, let alone the possibility she may end up as President!

    • Posted By: fedupinpa @ 10/06/2008 9:33:08 AM

I agree 100% with you. Sarah Palin is the most unqualified candidate for VP, I have seen in my lifetime.

  • Posted By: reginanation @ 10/06/2008 9:17:54 AM

She is an embarassment to me as a woman. Remember the cute girls that flirted thier way through Algebra? I would study for my A and she would flirt for hers, then Mr. Johnson would just melt every time she smiled and batted her eyes. I can not believe someone could actually be second in line for the presidency that way! Talk about women stepping back in time....very sad.

WHICH COUNTRY IS PALIN TALKING ABOUT--THE ONE SHE WANTS TO SECEDE FROM?
WHY IS THE MEDIA IGNORING MCCAIN'S AND PALIN'S ASSOCIATIONS?
MCCAIN is going negative. You know he will use Ayers, Rev. Wright, Rezko and more???old narrative. Why is the media not calling attention to McCain''s own past; Palin has her own dirty lundary lists. WHY is the media not actively questioning Karl Rove-type campaign? Why should this campaign not be focused on issues and current economic woes of the country? Why are you not talking about McCain''s involvement in S&L bank scandal as a member of the notorious "Keaten Five"? That scandal earned McCain the honor of being the only member of Senate ever reprimanded for "bad judgment." AND DON'T FORGET THAT MCCAIN-KEATING ASSOCIATION WAS VERY CLOSE and that Keating paid $1.3 million to each of the five senators involved! Talking about keeping company, The Nation???s website in mid-September published a photo ???of McCain celebrating his seventieth birthday in Montenegro in August 2006 at a yacht party hosted by CONVICTED Italian FELON Raffaello Follieri??? (See also The Nation, Oct.1/08). McCain wants to talk Jeremiah Wright; time for the media to remind him about Palin???s witch doctor pastor blessings in her church at Wasilla. Should McCain-Palin ticket win, are they going to be having siances in the White House? Palin talks about ???Obama and terrorists??? attacking ???our country.??? Which country is she talking about???the one she wanted to secede from as a member of secessionist organization in Alaska? And do you know that McCain???s brother is a communist sympathizer?

AND According to Paul Begala who has written a book about McCCain, McCain was a member of an extremist organization that was a ???gathering place??? for ???racists??? and ???anti-Semites.??? He states: ???I think Governor Palin here is making a strategic mistake. This guilt by association path is going to be trouble ultimately for the McCain campaign. You know, you can go back, I have written a book about McCain, I had a dozen researchers go through him, I didn't even put this in the book. But John McCain sat on the board of a very right-wing organization, it was the U.S. Council for World Freedom, it was chaired by a guy named John Singlaub, who wound up involved in the Iran contra scandal. It was an ultra conservative, right-wing group. The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981 when McCain was on the board, said this about this organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League - the parent organization - which ADL said "has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites." (See Meet The Press, October 5, 2008, reported by Huffington Post). No wonder McCain???s anger that a Black man is challenging him! His anger also shows in the racial overtone of his campaign.

Well sure the last paragraph of the article really says it all when it comes to Evangelical/Republican values.

They are extremely, and I mean extremely, hypocritical when it comes to their own beliefs and values. They will cast those aside when it suits them and make any excuse or reason as to why.

Why they always back the Democrats at 90% when Jim Crow was put in place by... Democrats , Who freed the slaves.. e Republican. humm. no racism here,

I was the minority at a black high school. Let me assure you racism come in all skin tones,, not just one.

Please explain to me how someone with 8 houses, 14 cars and a blond botoxed multi-millionaire CEO wife in head-to-toe designer duds claims the OTHER guy's the elitist. And honestly, McCain is the one who LOOKED elitist in their first debate. When you won't make eye contact, are condescending and patronizing, and try to dismiss your opponent with a complete lack of respect, THAT to me is elitist.
