Go after both of them - no holds barred - attack, attack, attack. I am so sick of Palin's face, her winks, her hair, her voice, her joe six pack mentality. Where will that get us when Iran or North Korea have their nuclear weapons aimed at us? She and McCain are pathetic wanna-be's - her especially. Get over yourself Sarah, you're a GOP pawn.

It is important to observe the discrepancy in this presidential campaign that exists in the public perception of elitism. In terms of lineage and socio-economic status, John McCain is a member of an elite, and one who received a number of important advantages as a result. In terms of education and intellectual achievement, Obama is part of an elite, but one who had no external, familial advantages to facilitate his achievements. Both presidential candidates and Biden stand in marked contrast with Palin, who appears to represent the glories of mediocrity and blithe ignorance in her informal language and folksy style, like a beauty pageant contestant at an academic forum. Despite our mythology of the greatness of the common person, when it comes to governing the United States at the highest levels, "Joe Six-pack" and "Hockey Mom" are grossly inadequate for the job.

7 houses and 13 cars coming from someone doesn't even know what he has and from that you think its even remotely possible to label Obama as the elitist. Desperation tactics from a despicable bunch of parasites that have run this country into the ground and want another chance to do so by falsely destroying Obama's character. Please, spare me this elitist accusation because it's even low by Republican standards. anthatantthat's pretty low.

It's ironic. In the 2000 election, Clinton had made the job look so effortless that almost anyone could handle it; George Bush included. Now eight years later, I often hear that the next president will be a one termer; presumably because George Bush has made the job look insurmountably difficult. Go figure.

I can honestly say i have grown very tired of Sarah Palin and the fact that some think she did such a GREAT job. The debate was like watching someone bring a hocky stick to a round of golf. Never mind she wasn't answering most if not all of the questions posed to her, she kept going off on tangent that served to collect decent sound bites for anyone reviewing the debate. If you didn't know the question you would think the answer was decent even though it was read from cue cards. I would be woefully disappointed if she were elected and had to talk to North Korea about a nuclear issue and bought cue cards explaining our posistion on global warning. Just remember America, you get what you vote for.

Well if American buys this airhead then their punishment will be 8 - 12 years of being confined to their rooms. They will not have enough money to go anywhere else. I cringed when she said middle class people like her. She had an airplane or is it two. I cannot fill up my gas tank. Forty dollars at a time and that does not fill up my Hyundai. If you buy her Bull I am doomed

Eskimo Barbie Sarah Palin will be heading back to Alaska on November 5th. Yhere is no way the people of this great country could believeanything from this air head!
I would like people to start checking her background...Adultry in 1999 to Brad Hanson, Having to get married and having her child just 8 months into their marriage. Now, possible fraud!!!! She received money for staying in their home and didn't pay taxes on it. Oh there is lots in her back ground that can be checked.
The time is coming for her and she and McCain will be out.

Pallin and the GOP ought to present the true picture of the NObama:

    1. NObama's twenty year membership with Wright's anti-American and anti-white church! In plain english, racist is the word.

    2. NObama's words about the supporters of Senator Hillary Clinton who he called "uneducated, low-class whites, clutching guns and going to church." rhetoric.

    3. Then there is Michelle Obama, an angry woman expressing anti-American sentiments that, "life in America is not good, we're a country that is just down right mean . . . We're a country that is guided by fear, We're a nation of cynics, sloths and complacents."

    4. Remember, Obama claimed the Teamsters need less oversight (The Wall Street Journal, 5/5/08). Hoffa and the Obama camp agreed upon less oversight during discussion to end the government regulation prior to the Union endorsing Obama.

    5. NObama's claim that he was a law professor . . . a real stretch, and an insult to REAL professors.

    6. NObama's relationship with Ayer is no small matter: People must understand that the Weatherman Underground gunned down Boston Police Detective Officer Walter Schroeder outside a Brighton bank on Sept.23, 1970. Schroeder was shot in the back. He left behind a wife and nine children ,aged 17,15,13,10,9,7,6,2, and 11 months. Katharine Powers drove the get-away car and was on the lam for 23 years before getting caught and then treated with the same despicable reverence that Obama's friend Ayers has been given by the media. Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn, like Powers, went underground as fugitives after a bomb-making factory blew up on a residential Manhattan block, killing three people. Ayer as recent as an interview following 9/11, claimed he regretted not building more bombs!

    7. Remember the NOBama interview about 57 states? Poor laddie educated in Jarkata.

    • Posted By: orion12 @ 10/05/2008 8:07:34 PM

Your comment sounds as if you are a parrot. What does Ayer's activity have to do with Obama? Did he order Ayer to do what he did or did he participate in it. I find people who link Ayer to Obama are just being dishonest; only finding a way of bringing Obama down with falsehoods. Why not reflect and contribute meaningfully instead of just repeating what is being said?

Its is shameful to see people who feel that voters do not think and will buy this sort of silly arguments. Please post something more useful next time.

Obama should be channeling FDR . With the economy in the worst shape since the Savings and Loan scandals of the 1980's (oh, and wasn't McCain involved with that?), the economy is going the be the main issue. Arguably, the economy is worse than that time period. Given the Republicans track record on the economy, the issue should be a winner for Democrats. I guess if you have no plans for America, then you do what the Republicans are doing-break out the fear and smear machine.

  • Posted By: real-vermonter @ 10/05/2008 7:53:09 PM

Does elitism as used here really just mean educated? If so, why do Republicans think that this is a bad thing? This always confuses me. Republicans say they want Americans to get an education, yet when you get one you apparently become an elitist. How does this type of thinking HELP AMERICA???

  • Posted By: ICYEYES800 @ 10/05/2008 4:32:58 PM

Democrats were once the party FOR THE WORKING CLASS....the average person who went to church on Sunday, cooked dinner every night, sat at that table and blessed the food that the Lord had provided....THE BIG CHANGE came when the dems began to represent EVERY subculture in the UNITED STATES...gays, blacks, socialist, athiests, hollywood types, and generally people who don't have the mindset that in AMERICA you can be anything you want, IF you work hard, and keep your integrity intact....LOVE OF COUNTRY AND FAMILY FIRST...I am not all that keen about sending half of my paycheck to aid every country in the world instead of helping my neighbor.....that's what makes REPUBLICANS differ from dems.......WE HAVE LOGIC AND PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY....McCain/Palin '08

    • Posted By: Delaware grandmom @ 10/05/2008 4:50:45 PM

So as long as the working class looks like you, you are for them. When it looks like some other group, you are against them? Study your history--we were once the minority, as in "No Irish need apply." When my grandmother came from Scotland in the 1920's, she couldn't find work because of her accent. But she managed to raise her children, who, in turn raised and educated theirs. I still stand for those principles.

      • Posted By: ICYEYES800 @ 10/05/2008 7:47:50 PM

Just for the record....my lineage is about 80%Scottish/Irish, so you need not point that out....I've read tons of books about the plight they suffered.....BUT GUESS WHAT....WE GOT SMART and move ourselves out of the ghetto into the elite lifestyle.....

        Personal responsibility, as in troopergate?

  • Posted By: olderwiser @ 10/05/2008 7:37:40 PM

The American public has a nature that few have seen, because it has been to election campaign college under the professorship of Karl Rove and company. It learned four years ago what happens when a campaign drifts from the crucial subjects which need to be discussed in a presidential campaign and turns in desperation to make up storms of personal attacks on an opponent to try to discredit one personally in order to win cheap and dirty.
There are, of course, some gullible people around who will be swayed by this, but in the main this public is not the same wide eyed and easily fooled batch that Karl and company moved to vote dumb four years ago.
Desperation has hit the Mc Cain campaign as the numbers stack up against them and they have even announced this time that they are about to cast dirt for the dumb. Little do they know that they are casting dirt toward a new breed of mud scholar who will not be fooled. It will backfire and it will cause Mc Cain to lose big. I take a twisted pleasure in this, as much as I detest the practice, knowing that it will surely take place and that it will finally expose such campaign tactics as no longer effective. I greatly admired Mc Cain when he started his campaign and promised to keep it clean. The admiration is gone now and questions of character that was supposed to have been gained in a lonely prison cell have arisen. Character reveals itself under such stressful circumstances as this and I do not like what I see.

Hey, how can an admiral's son get away with calling Obama an elitist. Elitist has simply become the racist term for uppity. Sorry, that Obama did not come from the projects, but he was still poor. Sorry, that he was not a gang banger, or a rapper, or yet a basketball player that could put the fears of those "hard working voters," at rest. Instead, he is a black man that did what this country has been saying that black Americans should do. He went to school, got an education, and was successful. Now that he is that, somehow he is out of line. Make up your mind America.

I'M SORRY BUT WHEN SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE CAN MAKE FUN OF YOU AND DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE THE SCRIPT-JUST BASICALLY REPEAT WHAT YOU SAID..............................YOU ARE A F'N SIDESHOW! ANYONE WITH A DRIP DROP OF COMMONSENSE CAN POSSIBLY TAKE PALIN SERIOUSLY.

  • Posted By: Libratine @ 10/05/2008 7:22:11 PM

Palin calls a fellow American community organizer an elitist while driving a Suburban with a Starbucks latte in hand. BTW: McCain is no 'maverick" He just stole the name and image from James Garner's TV series about a wild west gambler named "Maverick." LMAO!!!!! Here is a link to a CNN tour of John & Cindy McCain's fully furnished non-elitist mansion presently up for sale and see the kitchen table they sat around when they talked about you:

CaterineUSA - I feel sorry for you and the republican woman for Palin! WOW! Are you guys being seriously mislead! I will pray for you and hope you get your head out of the clouds.

John MCain is not putting country first. He is endangering our country by putting Sarah Palin out on the campaign trail first!

    • Posted By: Krohn @ 10/05/2008 7:21:46 PM

Misled? Obama, one of the biggest proponents of predatory lending! His association with ACORN! In line with many Democrats on being in bed with the corrupt financial institutions! Barney Frank, whose gay lover was an executive for one of them! We actually need a reformer like Palin! What is most laughable is that the only line of attack that the Obama campaign has had is "the failed economic policies of the last eight years!" Well, the Democrats topped that by doing more damage in two years than Bush could ever do in eight!

Obama will lose on November 4th when the truth comes out. Guaranteed Yes we will!

    • Posted By: sugarboo2 @ 10/05/2008 6:50:46 PM

I think that you need to shut up Catherine because Obama will be the next President. You shouldn't let the American people know just how stupid you really are!!!!! Looks like you qualify to be on the McCain/Palin ticket because you are just like them. Dumb, Dumber, and Dumbest a perfect combination!

  • Posted By: baileyt2 @ 10/05/2008 6:32:10 PM

Who can possibly swallow that McCain is a "Joe 6-pack"? He and his wife own 7 houses--or is it 8? They are multimillionaires. How many Joe 6-packs can say this? Here's one question for Palin--how much did you pay for those glasses? Here's another--how many Joe 6-packs can stay at home and collect a per diem, while being paid a full salary, both on the taxpayers' backs?

    History vs. Naivety

The art of awaking the "Manchurian Voter" under the guise of a "Culture War" is a sinister and artful craft historically employed by many in their incessant pursuit of a political win.

To disguise the craft in the use of dog whistles and other morally corrupt vehicles to "trigger" these voters into consciously or unconsciously voting against their better interests, and, instead vote for the preservation of racial identity borders on an ominously palatable form of ethnic cleansing.

President Kennedy was an Irish-Catholic who inspired many.

There are those in this country who vehemently despise Catholics, enough said.

Most importantly, it is imperative that those with the power to inform the masses do not succumb to the complaints of an erratic attempt to win the Presidency by surrendering their professions to ideals long destined for the rubbish pile.

It is beyond naivete to frame such incendiary ideals in the form of anything other than what it truly "is not", a Culture War!

There is no religion higher than truth...

Obama- Biden in '08 and '12!!! Obama will be the next President of the United States! America is really beginning to see who McCain is and definately the disdain for Sarah Palin is growing!! She continues to PLUMMET in the polls in just about all 50 states!! She is a FLUFFY BUNNY for the conservatives to fawn over!! Sarah Palin is only good at attacking - and under that surface there is a big deep black hole!! There is no substance about any issues there at all!!
