    Laughing at my own typos..that's what happens when one posts before morning coffee. Sarah Palin is as big a disaster as my spelling and punctuation are this morning. Many women in America are appalled by her and do not feel she is representative of a large cross section of us, and are heartily grateful she is not. She dummies us down in the eyes of the world.

      I was not laughing at your typos. I was laughing at your "eyes of the world" concern. Who out there in the world are we supposed to be wringing our hands over how they feel about America? The Russians? The Iranians? The Chinese? The French? Perhaps those awestruck Germans adoring Barry the One? Oh, I know, the "Bosniaks" mentioned by Joe "we kicked Hezzbollah out of Lebanon" Biden.

    It is four weeks until the election and what are we discussing? That's right, whether or not John McCain's choice for VP is ready to be president. With so many vidal life and death issues on the table, we are distracted by a naive, howdy-dowdy woman that embarrasses many of us and for some reason, inspires others. BUT this all misses the point. John McCain is the Republican candidate. Would we be voting for him without her? He could not get people to come out to hear him speak before he chose Palin. And NOW, she is so outside his inner circle that she has to find out from the news media that his campaign has withdrawn from MI.
    Does his message send this country forward? What does it say about John McCain that he would exploit this ambitious young woman this way? What does it say about him that he would thrust this VP choice on the country? She is not presidential. She may have been a good governor or maybe she was lucky enough to be governor when there was extra money to give the citizens of Alaska. But one thing for sure she is out of her league. The idea that she is a quick study to the presidency is just unforgivable! Shame on you, John McCain.

      You are right. With four weeks to go we should be talking about the "fitness" of Obama to be prresident. He is not. John McCain will become the 44th President of the United States of America.

    Typical. Obama starts the cultural or class war with his tax cuts for 95% of the people (when 40% don't even pay taxes) and income redistribution "fairness" garbage, and Clift says the Republicans are waging a cultural war. Unfortunately, the typical Newsweek reader swallows that swill.

    Please understand that although I am female and pasrt of small town America, Sarah Palin do not speak for me or to me. I find the woman a total embarrassment,.; I am insulted by her nomination, not uplifted by it, and the phony folksy act . gives me dyspepsia.

    Obama can "Nuke" McCain

    Now that McCain is on his heels Obama should make a frontal attack on the "experience" for Commander in Chief of John McCain :

    In 2002 after the invasion of Afghanistan by NATO troops, the President George W. Bush declared : "In Afghanistan the talibans are comptely destroyed"


    In March 2003 the President George W. Bush, on the airportcarrier, declared : "The war in Iraq is over"

    McCain agreed.

    So McCain has "experience" in supporting reckless attacks (Iraq) and ill-prepared wars (Afghanistan)
    and in giving over-optimistic prognoses on these wars.

    These are BAD references to be a Commander in Chief.

    let me get this straight... Palin ignites the culture wars... Obama attending Wright's church for 20 years, associating with anti-American bomb throwers, voting to deny babies surviving abortions healthcare (are they included in the healthcare stats?)... THOSE things don't ignite any kind of culture wars... Sarah Palin is the problem. Newsweek cracks me up!

      abortion is a moral issue,and I find it humorous that for a party that dislikes big govern. you sure do make alot of big govern. needed to fix your messes,plus when Repub's get in Gov. agencys that are supposed to protect People from Big Corp harm,become the oppisate,like letting drug companies make polies and studies on their products,BP's arent harmful,yet test 100 random people and they have high levels,Repub's want to keep population dumb,I guess it makes you feel safe,but false safety is alll it is as the rest of the world exceeds and encourages intelligence.

    Palin is a joke,just because she can regurgitate memorized answers to invisible questions we are to be wowed by her hockey mom winks,was she ever a hocky mom?She lies and speak gobbledegook,fakeing it till she makes it,she is an embarrassment and just another head game political war fare Republican style,,if Charles manson were running and had a big R on him,they would be giveing excuses as to all the ugly rumoours were just rumours.This isnt supposed to be a team sport,it's what is better for America,and throwing in a culture war just because you feel stupid can not be God's will.

    No wonder EVERYBODY gets a copy of Newsweek every week. With such intellectual insight from great minds like Helen Thomas,-(oops)-I mean Eleanor Clift,-(I always get those two mixed up)-And I love it when she gets the quotes from, you know, REGULAR PEOPLE, like Slly Quinn, when she's talking about things like "The Culture War". It makes sence, I guess. With Princess Diana dead, that doesn't leave many 'regular people' around anymore. This thing, this 'reporter', who's airbrushed face litters this page, is one of the reasons that Newsweek is the paper of record in most of the gas station bathrooms across America. What Bill Clinton did with his pants down around his ankles, with his smoking materials, and with ALL OF THOSE TRAILER TRASH LIARS-(including RAPE)-is nobodys' business. I was his PERSONAL LIFE, and he has to get back to doing the business of the American oral sex. I mean, business. But Sarah Palin? She's a hick. She's no good. Why, she would probably, if elected, stick her nose where it don't belong. Like the "filthy utility rooms, in Obamas' Illinois, where they throw the discarded babies, ALIVE, to Die. SHE HAS NO RIGHT!     Palin's crimes cannot be covered up. She intentionally brought a Down-sydrome child to the world, trapped an innocent human soul in a lifelong jail and set up a child for failure. Her daughter's free sex with wild boys is a serious violation to the Bible. With her shallow knowledge on critical issues and her misjudgements, Palin would be a disaster to our country and the world when she emerges as the President of the United States. McCain is responsible for creating this mess for American people.

      I am not a Palin supporter. She is not ready to step into the job of VP, and her confidence to assume otherwise is frightening. Nonetheless, I find your attitude about her "intentional" decision to have a Down syndrome child, and your assumptions about the lives those born with Down syndrome lead, to be just downright offensive. And your read the Bible???!!! There's nothing that mystifies more than intolerant and ignorant Bible readers.

His past association are not just questionable, they are downright frightening for someone who has the potential to be elected to the highest office of this country. Creationism taught as a serious subject in schools? Thank conservatives. Death of Matthew Shepard? Thank conservatives. Six years of endless pork carrying Repug Congress's vote and Bush's signature? Thank conservatives. President you can have a nonalcoholic beer with versus one who can think? Thank conservatives. Party too scared to look at its own past? Thank conservatives. Failure to prevent 9/11? Thank conservatives. Failure to prevent banking crisis? Thank conservatives.

      Call me an elitist. Call me liberal. To me those are badges of honor, intelligence and common sense. Yours is the party of insanity, irresponsibility and endless violence. I know which one I prefer.

    I am outraged and appalled at being lumped in with Sarah Palin's Caribou Barbie attitude as being an "everywoman" approach. I find her inane, and her cute spunkiness is the very LASTt thing we need in office. If you choose to compare yourself with her, then do so, but don't call it an "everywoman's" attitude. Not even close! It's just plain offensive, to me as well as to all of the women I know.
