Here's my current favorite tidbit about Gov. Palin - her affinity for witchdoctors! Folks, if we let these lunatics win the election, we are a sad nation of idiots indeed.

Check out Sarah being "purified" by her friend the African witch doctor. Can you IMAGINE if there was a video of Obama in a similar scenario? The election would be OVER. Let's be clear. Sarah Palin is a threat to the country and the freedom of it's people. She bans and censors books she has never read. She believes that she will see Jesus return to earth in her own lifetime!

    Drill for oil.
    Stimulate the economy.
    Win the war.
If you agree with those goals you must vote for McCain.
Obama claimes he wants to drill for oil, but only in places where there is no oil?
Obama claimes he wants to stimulate the economy, but he wants to do that by raising business taxes?
Obama doesn't even claim he wants to win the war. He just wants to get out.

Please, Mr. Rove, why should we listen to you? The past 8 years are the only evidence we need that you are not the best judge of who should be President.

It is scary that the comparisons in education are as follows:

    Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna *** Laude

    Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in history and B.A. in political science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

    vs.

    McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank 894 of 899

    Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
    Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism

Hey karl - does McCain's illegitimate black child no longer bother you? Will you be calling voters again in South Carolina in the run up to election day??

I think Sarah Palin should attack him on experience. I think she should say "Obama voted present blah blah blah times. As governor of Alaska I didn't get to vote present, I had to take a stand. As Mayor of Wasilla I didn't get to vote present, I had to make a stand." She should say, Obama's been in the senate two years and spent most that time campaigning for president, I've been the governor for two years and spent most that time being governor" I think showing him as not even as qualified as the repubican vp was working very effectively, and would be even more effective now that the MSM has worked so hard to show her as a rube.

    • Posted By: Mountaineer85 @ 10/06/2008 12:10:57 PM

I really hope she doesn't take your campaign advice seriously. For one, Barack has been in the Senate 4 years, not 2 (elected 2004). Secondly, if you understood the parliamentary procedure of Congress, a "present" vote is the equivalent of a "no" vote. If he really just didn't want his position known, then he could just abstain from voting. If you can't even get these trivial point correct, I would question your entire judgement.

And, while it is a matter of opinion, I would hardly call someone unqualified who has two Ivy League degrees and more foreign policy experience than Palin ever will. I find it quite a stretch to call someone an elitist AND lacking in a resume. I really don't think you can have it both ways. Sarah Palin ran a tiny town for two terms, and hasn't even been in the Gov.'s office for 2 years. And she can't even understand what a 7th grade Civics student can - that the VP's office is in the Executive Branch. I really despise people who blame a "gotcha", "mainstream media" for tripping her up. I don't expect her, or any other candidate to be a policy wonk and know the finer nuances of various things. But some of the things she stumbles on are things that someone who is involved with the world around them and not ignorant would know. Anyone who reads the news regularly would be able to answer any of Katie Couric's or Charlie Gibson's questions without stammering and Sigfriend&Roy-esque misderection. If I, myself, were advising Sarah Palin, I would advise her to strive above the mediocrity she has given us.

If she is so above the fray, then please explain why after placing her hand on the Bible and swearing to uphold the laws and constitution she has lied and disregarded the subpeonas of the troopergate investigation. This goes to character she will do the same if VP.. She pulled the executive privaledges line yet was CC emails to her first due hubby and he has no FORMAL role in her Adminstration. I smell a rat and a very slick con artist , perhaps her skills have been polished up by the ROVE lead camps for McCain as well.

As a republican, here is my problem with democrats:

They always support welfare for poor african-americans. Just once I'd like to see a poor black kid study hard in high school, work his way through college and maybe go on to law school. Then instead of taking a job at some big law firm, I'd like to see him go back and help people in his community instead of EXPECTING THE US GOVERNMENT TO DO IT!!!

Oh wait, that's exactly what Obama has done, but now he's being called an 'elitist'? And while we're on the subject, how many houses does McCain own?

I guess this Republican is voting OBAMA '08.

PALIN WANTS TO PLAY THE GUILT BY ASSOCIATION GAME? OOOOK! WELL THIS VIDEO SHOULD BE MADE INTO A COMMERCIAL. Let's talk about Palin's association with the Alaskan Independence Party? Her husband (and probably her) has been a part of an organization in Alaska that preaches secession from the USA. They are not all that nice. PLEASE WATCH, READ AND SHARE:

Well, I wonder how long it will take for McCain to call Gov. Palin a "***" like he called Cindy on a campaign bus in front of reporters? In fact, he said (paraphrasing), "at least I don't pancake my make-up on my face like a trollup, you ***". Oh, I know, (wink), he will probably call Palin that, oh, November 5, when Obama wins. You betcha!

http://www.usvetdsp.com/smith_mc.htm John McCain committed High Treason when he gave military information to the Viet Cong as shown in this article. He is not a hero, he is a traitor

Pay attention to Rove; he knows how to use any immoral tactic possible to get grossly unqualified candidates elected.

  • Posted By: HyperD @ 10/06/2008 11:31:59 AM

Someone said that Obama in not qualified to be president? Hilarious! I think that he's more qualified than McCain and definitely more qualified than Palin. Everyone, compare McCain's record with Obama's.

McCain's student record (894 out of 899 in the Naval Academy and who actually got in the Academy using his dad's and grand-daddy's CONNECTIONS since they were both admirals). Oh, by the way, how come McCain got to fly (and recklessly crash) 5 planes if he finished at the bottom of his class? Answer: daddy and gran-daddy connections! After coming back from war, he CHEATED his first wife (since she didn't look all the good after a terrible accident) and married a millionaire who paid for his expenses to get in the Senate. Besides being a POW, which DOES NOT automatically qualify you to be president, he is empty. How many POWs do we have here in the US? Hundreds! That's a HUGE FALLACY, and has no logic. He has no relevant INTELLECTUAL accomplishments! Nothing.

Obama, who wasn't born with a silver spoon like McCain and studied his tail off, is a graduate of Columbia University, has a law degree from Harvard, Editor of the Harvard Law Review, 12 years in politics, four years on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and manager of one of the most impressively flawless and forward thinking presidential campaigns ever.

Obama is far, far more qualified and smart than McCain AND Palin combined! Obama has knowledge, judgment, and yes, some experience in politics as he has proven during the campaign and the debate. In case needed, we have Joe Biden who can provide his huge experience. McCain on the other hand has Sarah Palin who can memorize lines and repeat them like a parrot and... a great smile! Can we trust her? Not a minute!

Yes, we it comes to this election Obama and Biden ARE THE BEST TICKET, BY FAR. Period.

Well, I see a Zebra doesn't change its stripes. At one point, Karl Rove states that the McCain camp is going too far in their ruthless banter about Obama. Now he says they are on the mark. Sounds rather fickle to me. Just like the Replublicans, go with whatever theme prevails for the day. Obviously, the Republicans aren't paying very close attention. Hillary Clinton tried to smear Obama and it didn't work because Americans care about issues, not about politics. Now the Republicans will face the same fate because they have no substantive facts to support their candidacy upon. Palin needs to be careful about slinging rocks because Troopergate is nowhere near over.

  • Posted By: Kicking Donkey @ 10/06/2008 11:15:09 AM

Notice that Mr. Rove did not talk about issues whatsoever in this column. It was all about tactics, in keeping with the McCain campaign's insistance that this election is not about issues. The reason? McCain can't win on issues. Read Paul Krugman's column in today's New York Times on just how far out of touch McCain's health care plan is with ordinary Americans: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/06/opinion/06krugman.html?ref=opinion
It galls me that Newsweek provides a platform for a man who has consistently demeaned the political process, a man whose fingerprints were all over a whisper campaign to out Anne Richards and to brand McCain's adopted daughter the product of an interracial affair. Rove is all about divisive tactics, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
So Newsweek, how about publishing columns by a principled conservative instead of Machiavelli's discredited Mini-Me?

    • Posted By: Joe Bpsplk @ 10/06/2008 11:29:06 AM

You accurately point out what Rove is interested in, what drives him, with reagrds to politics. Issues have never mattered to Rove. What matters to him is how to sell the issues. He's a saleman, a political technician, if you will. His lack of consideration for the issues, for relating the issues to the mood of the people, is his major weakness. As in 2006, when he stated that Republicans would win most elections, because he saw "THE numbers" in the polls, Rove will be dead wrong again.
