    We don't even recognize or provide 'Men's Rights' yet we already have organizations for 'Gay Rights'? Something wrong with that picture. Men are guaranteed 'equal protection under the law' yet this is rarely the case and nobody seems to care.

    Palin is like Pontius Pilate. The rights of gays depend on the opinion polls. It's ironic that Palin now brags about shopping at Out of the Closet! That's a gay-run organization that raises money to help AIDS victims. What will Palin's supporter think when they discover that she actually spends money to suppor gays?
    Palin's churches have taught her that gays have no hope. When Armageddon occurs, they will all burn eternally in a Lake of Fire. Palin's current views on gays are simply guises to fool the public. She may be able to fool most of the people some of the time, or some of the people most of the time - but she can't fool me.

    Socialism is NOT the next step to socialism - that just bad propaganda.

    RoboHate.

    The McCain/Palin campaign is now combining our analog (or digital, cell) telephones with computers, and has produced RoboHate calls against his opponent, to enliven hatred wherever possible.

    Hate is not good for the country. And McCain/Palin uses hatred too often. However, McCain/Palin stumbles grossly on unity.

    This country needs unity in difficult times. Yes We Can. Obama/Biden is right for this country right now.

    Obama's view of the future of America - Socialism which is the next step to Communism!!

    Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

    The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire to not only possess another's wealth but also the desire to see another's wealth lowered to the level of one's own. Socialism's teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini. The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: "Common good comes before private good." Fascism, said
    Mussolini, is "a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests??realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies."

    Socialism is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice: It is the social system which uses compulsion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class.

    Despite the intellectuals' psychotic hatred of capitalism, it is the only moral and just social system.

    Capitalism is the only moral system because it requires human beings to deal with one another as traders--that is, as free moral agents trading and selling goods and services on the basis of mutual consent.

    Capitalism is the only just system because the sole criterion that determines the value of thing exchanged is the free, voluntary, universal judgement of the consumer. Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.

    It is both moral and just because the degree to which man rises or falls in society is determined by the degree to which he uses his mind. Capitalism is the only social system that rewards merit, ability and achievement, regardless of one's birth or station in life.

    Yes, there are winners and losers in capitalism. The winners are those who are honest, industrious, thoughtful, prudent, frugal, responsible, disciplined, and efficient. The losers are those who are shiftless, lazy, imprudent, extravagant, negligent, impractical, and inefficient. [What about the role of luckbeing in the right place at the right time or the wrong place at the wrong time? R. R. Pope}

    Capitalism is the only social system that rewards virtue and punishes vice. This applies to both the business executive and the carpenter, the lawyer and the factory worker.

    Don't you folks get it?

    Palin OPPOSES the redefinition of Marriage to anything other than one man to one woman... but that said, she does not oppose civil unions which define contractual relationships and grant visitation, health and property rights. That is neither inconsistent nor difficult to understand.

    • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 10/14/2008 5:53:02 PM

      We tried "separate but equal".

      It didn't work.

    • Posted By: jojotwins @ 10/05/2008 6:51:20 AM

      Edeldoug, can you READ? She has stated before that she OPPOSES granting civil benefits to same-sex couples. Read this again from the article you are posting on:

      "n the past, Palin has described her opposition to granting gay couples the benefits married couples receive. In an August 2007 interview with NEWSWEEK, Palin said she had upheld such benefits (angering fellow conservatives) but only because the state Supreme Court said it was unconstitutional to deny them:

      NEWSWEEK : And do you have a position on that? Would you like to see it? Do you care?

      PALIN: I would vote to further define the definition of marriage as it pertains to benefits even???yes, I would.

      NEWSWEEK: That is, not extend benefits to same-sex couples?

      PALIN: Correct. And if it took an amendment to our constitution, I would go there ???

      Pretty simple to understand. If you were gay, she would go so far as to amend our consititution to deny you the right to visit your loved one in the hospital and be the responsible party when making end-of-life decisions for that person, and a whole host of other "benefits" legally married heterosexual people take for granted. Say what you want, but don't pee on my back and tell me it's raining.

    • Posted By: Think Now @ 10/04/2008 11:08:59 PM

      edeldoug: no, as a matter of fact, I don't get it. I don't get what she is afraid of. I don't get why she feels the need to impose her so-called morality on the world. We are talking about a person who charged women for police investigative services and evidence collection kits after a sexual assault. Have you ever heard of police charging for the investigation of car theft, or burglary, etc? Equality for all-that's what I get.

    This whole gay issue will soon seem so passe. Especially with the new Zoophile-Rights revolution raging. (See the new film, called COMING SOON, at http://www.comingsoon.cz. It should still be free.)

    In a few years we'll look back at this struggle with the same horror and stupification as we know look at the cruelty of the Civil-Rights movement.

    Why can't we just let people be people???

    Berlin has a Gay mayor! And we're still fighting over Gay marriage! Wake up!

    • Posted By: flanker97 @ 10/06/2008 10:42:09 AM

      Ha, every civilization that has embraced homosexuality did so at the height of it's power. They crumbled soon after. Ask academia to hypothesize on this fact. Our morals across the world have fallen into such disrepair it's amazing that we still have functioning governments. The worlds religions have outlived every government known to man. This applies to Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, all of them. Maybe religion has something to offer after all!

      • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 10/14/2008 5:49:05 PM

        Odd. Rome survived for 400 years and more, after gays became fairly open about what they were.

        Greece about 300.

    The people who support Palin are the the same hypocritical schmucks who not only are against gay marriage, but they'd go so far as to ban sodomy. They are control-freak authoritarians, the worst type of humans on the planet. They are never happy to just live and let live..... they need to control, legislate, and ban things. They are the Drug War jackboots. They are the Culture War crazies. And they need to be exterminated from power.

      Remember.... hate is not a family value. So quit hating so much. It is possible to disagree with someone and not hate them at the same time. Funny how those who are always calling for tollerance seem to be some of the most intollerant of all.

      • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 10/14/2008 5:47:14 PM

        Wait. We're not tolerant enough of your intolerance?

        Poor baby. Get over it.

      • Posted By: phatrick @ 10/08/2008 1:54:24 PM

        disagreeing with someone is one thing, going out of your way to deny them basic civil rights is hatred.

  • Posted By: paulte @ 10/08/2008 4:01:05 PM

    Active discrimination against people is one thing but the granting of certain rights is something else. Gay couples or even cohabitating heterosexual couples should not have the same rights as married people like social security benefits.

    And the concept of "gay marriage" is irrational on its face. The state should in no way be putting a stamp of approval on homosexuality. And there should be no legal equivalence between homosexuality and heterosexuality. Tolerance should be the rule of thumb but sometimes it is necessary for the state to make laws which restrict homosexuals as in the question of the adoption of children. Allowing children to be brought into gay arrangements is a form of child abuse and should be prohibited by the state. The same restrictions should apply to lesbians seeking artificial insemination.

    • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 10/14/2008 5:30:56 PM

      The same things were said during the civil rights movement.

      You are on the wrong side of history.

    About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

    'A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.'
    'A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.'
    'From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.'

    'The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years'

    'During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

    1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
    2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
    3. from courage to liberty;
    4. from liberty to abundance;
    5. from abundance to complacency;
    6. from complacency to apathy;
    7. from apathy to dependence;
    8. from dependence back into bondage'

    Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

    Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29
    Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000
    Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million
    Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

    Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...' Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase.

    If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

    If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message. If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

    Denying people certain rights IS active discrimination. Why shouldn't gays and lesbians receive Social Security benefits? They pay into Social Security just like you. Why should gays and lesbians be forced to carry the burden of SS benefits and tax cuts that ONLY benefit married HETEROsexuals? Why are HETEROsexuals entitled to these SPECIAL RIGHTS??!! Gays and lesbians only want what's fair and equal, nothing more.

    As for children, if two heterosexuals can raise a well-adjusted, perfectly normal (and they are normal) gay or lesbian child, then two gays/lesbians can raise a well-adjusted, perfectly normal heterosexual child. If you do your research you will see the MANY studies showing that sexual orientaion of the parent makes no difference whatsoever ... and if you dig a little deeper you will also see that the majority of child molesters are HETEROsexuals, in case that is your primary concern.

    I'm so tired of my life being called a "lifestyle." A "lifestyle" is whether you like to go to the beach on the weekends. A "lifestyle" is drinking a six-pack every night while you watch "Cops" reruns. But being Gay isn't a "lifestyle." It's a life.

  • Posted By: Simpleton @ 10/05/2008 1:35:00 PM

    It'd be a flip-flop if Palin changed her position.

    There is no indication that she has. All that was on display was her sanctimony when she announced that she was "tolerant" of gays.

    Sheer bigotry is not flip-flopping.

    • Posted By: neekie @ 10/07/2008 3:04:08 PM

      She never said she was tolerant. Tolerant and non-judgmental are two completely different things.

      Tolerance - a fair, objective, and **permissive** (key word) attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one's own; freedom from bigotry.

      Judgmental - not judged or judging on the basis of one's personal standards or opinions (nothing said about being permissive)

    Disapproval of sexual depravity is not hate nor is it unfair discrimination.

    But,
    VOTING FOR A DEMOCRAT IS GAY

    DON'T BE GAY

    • Posted By: neekie @ 10/07/2008 2:44:26 PM

      Being non judgmental, as Palin said she is in the debate, is *not* being tolerant. Get a clue! Republicans are brainwashed idiots who don't take the time to research the facts.

      Anyone who could put this bitch into office needs their head examined!
